With Zeph being a strength build, are there any heavy ranged weapons suitable for a Dragon?

I guess part of that would depend on whether it was man-size portable or a jury-rigged artillery cannon he fires from Dragon form.

The Starfire Pulse Cannon that Terra has for her two Earth Thunderer Automations is one of the most powerful TW portable energy weapon out there. It does a whopping 2d6x10 per shot, and the normal weapon has a payload of I believe 16 charges. It is one of many good weapons out there that you may consider getting ahold of.

Hmm... From what I can tell WP Heavy MD Weapons is what I'll need to have ranged combat as an option. That would apply to the cannon, correct?

Here is the full text of the weapon:

Yes, that is the skill you'll need to be able to fire it without any penalties.

That is a cool weapon, but the ones that my Automations have are limited to just being able to fire 2 times per melee to keep them from being too tough, and I only get 8 shots per weapon before needing to recharge them.

Looks like I'm 20,001xp shy of level 8, so no fun new skills yet. If he plays with guns or cannons, he'll have to eat the penalty for now. Ah well, the little arrogant Hatchling hasn't felt actual pain yet thanks to magic shields. We'll see how this goes.

While I'm here I have a couple rolls to make...

Alright, I think this settles progressing to level 7 for Zeph.

For spells this level, I've got down Constrain Being, Invisibility Superior, and Purification (Food and Water). I'm thinking 8 might be Exorcism, Locate, and Negate Magic. That is unless anyone would like to recommend an alternative. It's a long way away, but I've got my eye on Dragon Fire at level 9.

Rykon Rykon
Craning his neck down to Salnesh's corpse, he gripped it by the ankle with his fangs and whips it across the chamber into a nearby wall with a wet, meaty splat.

Hey, Rykon! Just a heads-up. There is no corpse anymore! Here in OOC, we talked about permanently ridding the universe of Salnesh and we did what was necessary to see it done properly. =)

Between Terra, Snowfall and Daisy's knowledge of the supernatural, and Eron's psychosis being so focused on Salnesh, it is a no-brainer to say that you guys take extra steps to make sure that Salnesh is totally dead and will not come back.

I saw the permanent death discussion, but I didn't quite connect the dots to it meaning the corpse was gone. Is that just how demons work in Rifts? Edit: nevermind, found it. I must've skimmed past it.

As for the post, random Brodkil will suffice as an outlet for child tantrum. Editing now...

In the first chest, there is a large fortune of precious gemstones; millions of credits worth if you can find a way to spend it.

In the second chest there is a large bowl made of crystal. While pretty, it doesn't seem to be remarkable in any other way. But you strongly suspect that there is something special about it or else it would not be locked away in here.

The third chest holds three swords of different design.

Cool! Lots of gemstones (perhaps Eron, our Crazy Techno-Wizard can benefit from some of these?)!

A crystal bowl to wash our new dragon friend in! Oh boy! =)

Three sorts of different designs? Ooh!

Sherwood Sherwood When you say different design, what do you mean? Different styles of swords? One style of sword in three different designs? Something else?

They are not as different as a Claymore compared to a Katana, but they are all different from one another, all with intricate rune work on their blades.

Friends, these are important questions to ask, you see, because in Rifts you never know what's going to happen next!

Of the three swords, Sherwood might say the first sword is a one-handed sword usable by any medium-sized creature! Oh boy!

The second sword might be a two-handed sword! As such, it is usable by any medium-sized creature with both hands or perhaps one of Terra's big kids or Zeph the Dragon!

But if this keeps up, we may learn that the third sword is a three and four-handed sword! That's right! It's that dusty old sword the GM has had in his GM notes for yhe past 20 whole years, just waiting for that special Rahu-man - except no one has ever played one in his campaign! Well that changes today! He didn't spend all this time 20 years ago to make nothing! Somebody in this party somewhere is going to pick the damned sword up and start using it even if it's only a paper weight, by God!

Wait. Is one of these three a katana? Katana are Japanese!

Wait. Is one of these three a katana? Katana are Japanese!

Allow me to ask this in a different fashion: Are these swords just rune-worked metal with a handle on it or do they follow any Earth cultures or styles that we would be familiar with? Are these "alien" swords with no discernible background or are these swords that we can identify with?

I don't know how to interpret this at all except that the swords are somehow different from each other:

They are not as different as a Claymore compared to a Katana, but they are all different from one another, all with intricate rune work on their blades.

Sherwood Sherwood Concerning the three rune swords, please allow me to retract my queries.

After looking into myself, I realized tonight that I remain attached to the variety and history of certain Rune weapons in Rifts (especially Japanese). Rune weapons (like dragons) sometimes played large roles when I ran my own long-lasting and memorable Rifts campaign years ago. I guess there is a strong part of me that still misses those games.

So do pardon me for getting so worked up about details for these new rune weapons in the game and disregard my questions. Sometimes swords are just swords. You're putting in enough work running this game and I realize that sometimes I let my enthusiasm for things I am fond of get the better of me. =)

Honor and fun,
Dann =)

No worries, my friend. I like it when people get excited about happenings in my games.

Well, I for one am having lots of fun here. And has everyone noticed that we are almost up to 200 pages of OOC posts? That's quite a lot!

Sherwood Sherwood Can Snowfall (or any of us) read the runes? Communicate with the swords? Or uses skills and powers to find out what they do or what purposes they may have?

I would like for him to use his Millenium Tree Wand of Knowledge if that would help?

Snowfall is looking for more than knowledge here; he's looking for curses on these weapons - just in case.

While we're on the note, I have a lore question. What language are most runes written in? Elvish/Dragonese? Or is it widely variable?

I guess with Eyes of Thoth it doesn't matter a whole lot for the initial appraisal.

I seriously doubt this will happen but, this is what I am trying to avoid:

/silly on

Zephiron holds the sword aloft, regaling and how it adds to his royal and majestic presence. But suddenly, his eyes go all wonky! He screams a blood-curdling oath, "DEAAATH TO THE WICKEEED! STARTING WITH MYSELF!"

Eron gets sus. "Has he been possessed by him? Has Salnesh returned?

Snowfall slaps his forehead. "Oh, just great! It's a dragon slaying sword and it just possessed Zeph!"

Terra commands! "Snowfall! Have Juu sit on his chest and use all of his heads to hold him down! I'll have my kids hold his arm in place! Daisy! Grab his other arm! Eron! Help me get the sword out of his hand! Start with his thumb! Snowfall! Stop playing with his tail! Now isn't the time for playing games!"

Zeph shouts, "FIRST, I KILL MYSELF! THEN THE CHIANG-KU! NONE SHALL SUUURVIIIVE!"

Rammoth inches away in growing worried. "Uh, is Zephiron always like this?"

Snowfall, helplessly caught in the Zeph's tail, flails around wildly. "No, no! He is fine! He's just... uhhh... practicing for next week's play! Yeah , that's it!" Praying to Inari, he asks, "how do we wind up in these messes?! HAAAALLLP!!"
