- Nymserine is a realm of magic and balance. It's a country ruled by Humans, Elves and Dwarves, overseen by the Nine Gods. They are bound to a strict categorization of ethics and morals created by the God of Balance himself. Where there are renaissance times of happiness and peace, there are also dark periods that seize the lands, spreading terror and despair. Nymserine has a long history of epic eras that tell of the ups and downs of time, but one of the most monumental moments in history was the Hallowed Exodus war. A corrupt and nefarious wizard named Azarath amassed an army of demons, ghouls, ogres and many other wicked creatures of the night and plagued the lands of Nymserine with a terrible blight that ravaged everything in its path. On his own, Azarath was a great wizard, well studied in the ways of dark magic, but his crusades were aided by the use of three Artifacts of Death, created by the Gods Eerebus, Progenitis and Ontario.
These artifacts gave Azarath the abilities to summon demons, control and capture souls against their will, and to boost his own strength and speed. In the end, Azarath was defeated by Aeredaius, the leader of the Circle and the Artifacts of Death were hidden and sealed away in different locations across Nymserine to keep them from falling into the wrong hands ever again.
Now, several centuries later, the Artifacts have gone missing again and the Circle is looking for new recruits to help find them and discover how they were taken. Some whisper about Azarath coming back from the dead to take his revenge, but maybe there’s something even bigger at hand. Nymserine may face a new deadly foe that threatens to throw the land into a new dark age... - Formerly known as Hallowed Voyage, and then as Hallowed Exodus, Realms of Nymserine is the final rebirth of a long ongoing tale of gods and heros in a fantastical land. This story was co-created by

. It is part of a series of roleplays that we began a couple years ago. The land of Nymserine started out as just another name in another story, but eventually Bug and I fell in love with the land as we began to add more and more to the realm. It wasn't until recently that we both started to do some serious world-building and rework the outline of Nymserine's history and timeline. After many long nights of staying up late and talking for hours about mythical creatures, civil wars and ancient ruins, we finally have a world that we can proudly get lost in. I sincerely hope you enjoy the work we've put into this magical land.

Character Sheets
This information is already included on the Character Sheet link, but we’ll put it here as well just to reiterate.
There are a few restrictions of what species or race your character can be. They playable races are the following: Human, Elf, Dwarf, Fairy, Satyr, Centaur, Merfolk and Demi-God.
There are only nine Gods in Nymserine lore and there can only be one child per god living at any given time. (For example, there cannot be two Children of Thasia alive at the same time.) Additionally, there are some demi-gods that are not playable as they are essential to the plot of the RP. Banned Demi-God characters include: Demi-God of Balance, Demi-God of Magic, Demi-God of Time, and Demi-God of the Void. Also, it's first come, first serve. So, if someone before you posts a character sheet as the Demi-God of Water, then that character is already taken and no longer playable by others. (It is recommended that you are an experienced writer and longtime member of RPN to take on a Demi-God character.)
You characters should try to be from their respective territories and cities. You can’t have a Dwarf that lives in the desert or a fairy that lives in Shylanora... if you do you better have a damn good reason. To learn about races and a brief description of their characteristics and cultures, you can go to the “Races and Species” tab under the History & Lore link.
There are a limited number of available slots for character sheets that we will accept, so they approval process with be fairly competitive. If you are chosen, I’ll edit your character sheet and put “Accepted” across the top and I’ll also notify you in the OOC that your character was picked. We may ask you to make some small changes to your character if needed. Please note that you much wait for validation of being accepted before posting to the main RP thread.
Roleplay Regulations
No autoplaying or “godmodding” will be allowed during the roleplay. You can only assume a character’s actions with their permission. For example, you can’t type, “They followed me to the riverbank.” They have to write that they followed you by themselves, or simply choose not to follow you. In real life you can’t control people’s actions or words, so try not to do it in the RP. The same rules apply for combat. Characters can write if/how they interacted with your attacks. If you say “He swung his sword, aiming for her torso.” That other character can choose to take the hit or dodge it. You can’t say, “He swung his sword and cut her arm off.” But you can say that you aimed or tried to cut off their arm. Besides, cutting people’s arms off is rude.
Collaboration posts are allowed, but should be limited. Collabs are when you and another person choose to put your posts together to speed up character interaction between the two of you. It can be useful for speeding the story along and not having to wait for another character’s response if you want to have a very interactive conversation. Obviously this requires permission from both parties involved.
This will be a pretty quick-moving RP and players are expected to post daily, or at least as often as they can. If you think you’ll only post once a week you’re probably going to be left behind.
Realms of Nymserine is set in a sort of Medieval/ Renaissance time period. Having said this, there are no guns. You don’t need guns, there’s magic for Gods’ sake.
If you read through the Main Thread (which isn’t really required, but can be helpful) you will notice that we began using first person and then switched to third person around page seven. Maybe eventually we will edit out all the “I” stuff, but the official point of view for this RP is third person. Also, please don’t be intimidated by the seven pages of roleplay that’s already up between BugDozer and I. You’re not too late and if you join now you haven’t missed much of anything, all the good stuff is yet to come.
It’s highly recommended that you at least skim through all of the content we’ve provided in the History & Lore link. You may get lost and confused at some of the stuff mentioned, but the link will always be at the top of the Main Thread for your own reference. We have worked very hard on putting this all together and stayed up late at night trying to finish typing sections of the lore, so it would be much appreciated if you tried to read some of it... we know there’s a lot. (We tried to add some humor to make it more fun to read, so enjoy the bad jokes, tee hee.)
