Project Purity (DrTrollinski & Greg2344)

"Well it really is a long story, but have you seen the "Project Purity" papers everywhere? We are doing project purity and we've been traveling all over the DC wasteland looking for vault power cores, we actually have two out of the three, but the only problem is the third is in Penssylvania. So we're just resting at this town for the time being." Jax explained.

"How old are you?" He asked.

".. I'm thirty-two." She smiled. "How about you? You don't look much older than thirty-five, to be honest. If you turn out to be younger, I do apologize." She laughed a little and then took a deep breath, running her hand through her black head of hair before looking around for a moment. It was quite nice day. Hot, sunny, just like it always was here, except during the Winter.

"I'm thirty-four." Replied Jax. "I'm surprised I don't look older, it feels like being out in the wasteland all the time has aged me ten years" he laughed, he wishes we was joking. "So have you been out of this town much?"

"Not much... I'm not really the travelling type." She replied, looking around for a moment. "Furthest I've ever been from the town is about a mile away when I had a small group... We found a stash which I'm--.. Not really allowed to talk about, sorry... The town relies on some of the stuff we still collect from there, so I can't tell you about it." She sighed and took a deep breath. "I don't intend to go out of this town much, either... It's something I wanted to do when I was younger, but now? Now... It just doesn't feel right for me, not one bit. I'm quite happy where I am." She explained, and then gave a gentle smile.

Jax was silent for a full two minutes, thinking about asking her to travel with him, walker, Daniel, and Ivan. But he decided not to. He really wanted to, but decided it's not worth risking her life. It's too dangerous out there in the wastes. Every step you take you have a huge chance to die, wether it be from raiders, mutants, maybe even radiation. You just never know. Jax realized he was quiet the whole time, so to make the conversation not awkward he said "yeah, at least your happy." While smiling.

"Mhm... Do you think this would ever be a place that you settled down? After you and those boys are done with Project Purity, I mean?" She asked softly, linking her hands in front of her. "We've got a few empty houses up for sale, and I'm sure there's a nice reward in store for you once Project Purity's done, right?" She asked.

"Hmm, I honestly don't know if I'll ever settle down." He said. Jax didn't feel he was able to settle down, or even worthy of settling down because of all the sins of his past. He also realized that his old raider friends such as Medz are looking for him still, he didn't want to bring people like that to this town, after all Medz is laying face down in the sand outback of this town. If the others showed up with Medz it would be Jax out there dead.

"Hm... Well... You should. There's definitely some people here that'll appreciate everything you're doing... Seeing as you've most likely already won over Walker and Daniel's dad... I imagine that no one will mind if you stick around." She smiled and then slowly rose up. "Plus, I'm sure you can be exciting. You might liven this place up a little." She laughed a little and then leaned over. "Have this to keep you going, wanderer. It's been a pleasure to meet you." She said, and then planted a gentle kiss on his cheek. "I really must get back to work." She said.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, goodbye." Jax said while smiling. His eyes even started to tear up because he really liked her, maybe even loved her? But he didn't know if he'd return from Pennsylvania alive to see her again. The enclave are a tough foe, he and the gang wouldn't be able to take on more then four or five at a time, and for all he knew Pennsylvania could be full of the enclave. Jax was feeling good, because he met the woman and she kissed him, but also sad because he might never see her again.

Jax walked over to the church walker was on the roof of. He took the same path up the walker did, and walker was still sitting at the top of it, just gazing out. Jax walked up next to him and sat down. "So what are you up to?" He asked.

He was lying down against the roof and just staring up at the sky. ".. I'm not sure how much longer I can live with this ability, Jax." He sighed a little. "Sure, it's helpful.. I just... It feels so strange. I don't get it when I sleep, but when I'm awake... I can just feel it, and it feels so, so strange." He took a long deep breath. ".. I wish it would go away... I'm just not used to it yet." He took a long deep breath in through his nose, and then let it out through his mouth.

"I'm going to be honest with you." He paused. "I don't know how it is or what it is, but it's probably going to last forever. Trust me though when I say you'll get used to it. We all have heavy burdens we have to live with." Jax said. Jax sat on the roof looking off into the distance, just simply thinking about everything.

"Yeah, I guess so." He sighed. "Do you think... Do you think Daniel's going to be okay with us, Jax? I mean, we'll never be able to stop him from coming, but... Do you think me, you, and Ivan are enough to help take care of him out there? I mean, let's face it... We're not exactly expecting a glass of warm milk and a blowjob when we get to Pennsylvania, are we?" He chuckled a little under his breath and gave a half smile.

"I've never been to Pennsylvania and never heard anyone talk about what it's like there, so I don't know. He's your brother, so it's your choice to make." Jax said. "But yeah, I'm worried about Pennsylvania, I was thinking what if it's full of enclave? We can only take on three or four of the bastards at a time without getting overwhelmed." Jax said.

"If we do things right... We'll be fine." He said softly. "Remember, my ability has some use - If I see too much heartbeat in the distance, we'll find a way around it." He explained, and then slowly sat up to get a better look around. The town was how he always remembered it - Quiet, happy, peaceful. It really pained him to know that they'd be leaving soon. "What do you think of this town, by the way? I saw you talking to that woman not far from here." He smiled.

"Yeah I like the town a lot, if I were to settle down it'd be here. Yeah, she's a nice person, I like her." Jax said. Jax nodded at what walker said about Pennsylvania and sat there next to him on the roof. "It's getting late, wanna get back to the house?" Jax asked.

".. Can do, yeah... I'll get dad to make us all some lunch." He smiled and then hoped down from the roof, landing on the tall wooden box. After that, he jumped down from that and stumbled forward as he hit the ground, but he took no damage. "You coming down the quick way, or are you taking the long route, old man?" He called up to him with a playful smirk.

"You challenging me?" Jax said while laughing. He took the same route down as walker but sprained his ankle on the jump. "Damn" he yelled in pain. "I guess I am an old man!" Jax said jokingly while laughing. "Uhh I actually don't know the way back to the house, so lead the way." Jax said while smiling.

".. Dude." He sighed. A sprained ankle was all they needed. "I heard your ankle click, man... Fuck's sake. At your age, you shouldn't be spraining ankles." He sighed and then went over, helping him up, and then making sure one of his arms were over his shoulders. "You'll do a lot of damage to it at your age. That ankle will always give you trouble now." He took a deep breath. "At least we'll be here for a couple more days..." He began to slowly lead him back towards the house. "I'll get you something cool to put on it. My dad keeps ice packs in the freezer." He chuckled a little.

"How old do you think I am?" He laughed. The two of them walked back to the house and ate dinner. After dinner Jax went to Ivan and said "so what's up? What did you do all day, I haven't even seen you yet today." Jax said while smiling at him.

"Old enough." Walker replied with a chuckle. After he helped him back to the house, his father prepared roast Brahmin with some vegetables. It was an early dinner, but it went down a treat. Ivan had already noticed that this old doctor didn't have a wife, so he assumed that he was pretty lonely right up until the point that Walker and Daniel came along. After dinner, Walker made sure that Jax had some ice on his ankle for at least half an hour, just to bring the swelling down, and then he put an ankle support on it for him.

"We saw each other this morning." He chuckled. "I'm not too bad... I just... Well, today, I was hanging around the house talking to Paul." He smiled. "Quite an interesting guy, really knows his medical stuff... It's people like all of you that really make me hate The Enclave for what they wanted to do." He explained.

"Yeah I know how you feel, I'm going to tell you something about me. Since you were man enough to admit about your past of being in the enclave, I'll tell you my past. About ten years ago I was a raider... Yeah I'm not It such a good guy after all, I know. But what I will say in my defense is that I was young, dumb, and it was all that I knew at the time. It's a really long story but long story short, my dad was a raider, so then I became a raider." Jax explained.

"Yeah, I know what you mean... In a way, you didn't have a choice. Just like me." He took a deep breath. "Why do you think The Enclave chose me, though?" He asked. "What made me so special? Do you have any idea how or why they choose certain people like that? Do you--.. Do you think I had family in The Enclave, or something?" He asked.

"I'm gonna be honest with you, I didn't even know the enclave existed until a few hours before i met you. So I have no idea how it works. I'm thirty four and scavenge in the wasteland almost everyday and never saw the enclave, it's weird. So When did you join, and how did you join?" Jax explained. "Another thing that's strange is how we all met. We all met by some freak chance, I met walker and Daniel randomly at megaton, why'd they decide to talk to me? I met you while fighting the enclave, why didn't I just kill you right away like I did the rest of them? It's like there's a force beyond that's helping us or something, like fate, ya know?" Jax said.

"Fate's a funny thing, Jax... I believe this: Once your time's up - Your time's up. We could walk out of this house and get gunned down, and that's because of fate. Nothing else." He sighed. "I told The Enclave story before... I passed out somewhere. I must've been attacked, or something... I wake up in the back of... the back of a truck. Yeah. We had vehicles." He sighed. ".. Soon after, I was given all my shit and started training. They said I wasn't allowed to go and see my family again." He shook his head.

"I had to accept that they were going to die under my hand."

(Last post tonight, man. See you tomorrow :) )

"Yeah, I'm not sure about fate. Don't know if I believe it, but it sure is an interesting thought to have. Then again I might believe it, just by the fact I'm still alive." Jax said to Ivan. "Good night man, I'm going to go to sleep now." Jax said, Jax went into the living room of the house and collapsed on the couch and almost immediately fell asleep.
