Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Rain
"W-what? R-room with Ash?"

She takes a quick glance at her party leader. Quite honestly, just being in close proximity with him made her awkward. Not in the way of a giggling, blushing maiden...but more of a parent watching over a child who'll fall apart at any moment. She feels her other self's indignation grow when she turns to find Xavier's face glowing bright red and stuttering out his words.

"That scheming elf! I told you I should have gotten that outfit! I don't care if you're smaller than Rena. This is unacceptable! Don't worry, Rain. I will seduce him for you!"

"I-I'll never let you do that!!!!" she screams at the top of her lungs.

Rena gave an enthusiastic nod as Ash encouraged the shy boy to join them.

"That's true but it'll be just as rude on our part as to ask you to fight with us only to leave you alone in the forest without a meal. At least allow us to treat you to a meal and a night's rest. I mean, please let Ash treat you."

Without waiting for a reply, she pushed the group into a nearby inn and sat them down at a table. Then she remembered something and poked her head out the door.

"Hey, Mr. Sub-commander, we'll be staying at this inn, if you don't mind us doing so!"

She flashed an angelic smile and turned to head back to the table. She jumped at the sudden outburst from Rain.

"Let who do what?"

"Oh my El."

Xavier stared at them hard, though his stomach urged him to just follow them for a good meal. The time they got inside in the inn and were seated for a meal, Komodo finally poked out his head to only glare at the three. He didn't hiss or spit, but just giving a good glare. Xavier allowed the small reptile to crawl out of his hoodie, trying to not smile since his tail managed to tickle him. Komodo settled on the table, staying close to Xavier and he started to stretch out his body. He as well opened out his wings for a good stretch and let out a small yawn. Xavier eventually started to fondle the small dragon in his hands, scratching him in areas in which Komodo was unable to reach for. He earned a happy growl from the little beast.

"Better be some meat for breakfast," Xavier mumbled to himself, sighing. He slightly jumped at Rain's outburst, confused what she meant but didn't ask about it. He got a strange feeling about her.

Rain
She could feel the embarrassment radiate off of her. Everyone was staring in her direction, and the table is eerily quiet.

"Umm...uhh..."

Her face explodes. If her other self was another person, she would be smirking at her.

"Oh come on, Rain. What do you have to lose?"

"Everything, Rain! My image, my already low self-esteem, and the chance to.." she quickly stops herself.

"Oh? Continue, my dear."

Rain does the only thing that she could do: she runs from the table and doesn't look back.

Xavier watched as the two girls left, blinking a couple of times as he was confused on what just happened. He looked at Ash, unsure if he would chase after them as well. The teen eventually checks back on Komodo, suddenly searching for any signs of injury. So far, Komodo showed signs that his wings appeared to be heavy for him, giving Xavier the thought that he may have stretched his muscles from the fight. He went ahead to give light massages on the said lizard, humming to himself.

"Well if you plan on going after them, I don't mind. Just come back to pay for my food when you're done," Xavier said to Ash, watching how Komodo just curls up into the massage as he was completely relaxed.

Elesis

"Come, messenger!" Elesis called while staring at the map of Ruben and it's surrounding areas. On it a few places were marked down in multitude of colors.

"Yes, ma'am!"

"Go to Hamel and see if Sasha has any leads on where those demons could have taken the El." She said swiftly.

"But ma'am! Why Hamel? Aren't they..." The Velder messenger looked displeased with her decision.

"Yes I know exactly how we are with them. But this isn't the time for nitpicking. The El of Ruben has been stolen by the demons and who knows what they could do with that. Velder does not a priestess so the only one we can rely on for that would be Hamel. Do you understand, private?" Elesis stood there with her arms crossed. She completely understands why he would say such a thing, but this time she wasn't going to make the same selfish mistake again.

"Yes, ma'am!" and off he went to Hamel.

Ash
Ash just shakes his head, "It's fine, I would try but..." Ash says as he watches Rain run away.
"Seeing her run away again huh." Ash thought to himself while looking at the cup in his hand, "Also don't worry it'll just be us guys then haha." Calling a waiter over Ash looked at Xavier with a grin challenging him to a drinking contest. "Show me what your made of!" Ash said slamming two large cups of ale.

Xavier stared at the large cup and he slowly took one of the cups. 'It couldn't hurt...back at home, they do let me drink every once in awhile,' he thought to himself as he looked into the cup out of curiosity. "Well...here's to surviving from the battle at the Tree El," he said, raising up his cup before starting to drink it down.

Ash
Ash nodding his head raised a glass and began to drink, "Ahh, drinking just helps after an eventful event like that one, don't you agree kid?" Ash says as he asks the waiter to keep the drinks come and to get some nice meat filled meals for two.

"Yeah...it really does," Xavier agreed, starting to smile at the drink. He didn't realize that he needed one so badly. He happily drank more of ale.

The time the food was set on the table, he lightened up at the sight of meat. Xavier went ahead to help himself, as well giving some pieces of meat to Komodo. Komodo can basically eat anything that will fill up an empty stomach, though Xavier made sure Komodo wasn't close to the drinks. That doesn't do good for him. Xavier kept on drinking and taking bites out of his food whenever he feels like it, curious if Rain and Rena will come back anytime soon.

Rain
Once she found herself on the outskirts of Lake Noahs, Rain takes a deep sigh of relief.

"That was too close."

She looks around the area in case someone decided to trail them, but finds emptiness and solitude. At times like these, Rain lets the two parts of herself freely control her body. Stepping onto the lake, she walks slowly on it, trying to find a more secluded corner.

"You're being a coward...again."

"And you're being too forward."

"At this rate, you'll just be the side ballerina, unable to grasp her prince and forced into a lifetime of regret, no matter how hard you fight for him. No matter how much you desperately wish to love him."

"It's not love..."

"Hmmm...I guess it's too early to tell, but still. Do not hesitate. If only you let me tutor you on the ways to a man's heart."

"I think I'll pass...considering that you harnessed the power of a siren."

Stopping the conversation, Rain enters a beginning pose. She starts to glide across the water, lightly leaping forward to build momentum. She then leaps into the air, performing a flawless split, before landing on her tiptoes and shifting her position so that she's gliding on the water on one tiptoe. Rain continues to dance across the water's surface, tuning out everything around her.

"It seems that with the both of us, dancing relieves stress."

"It's the only thing I can do, but what use is dancing on the battlefield?"

Too distracted with her inner thoughts, she doesn't notice the elf watching her from afar.

Walking around Noah's Lake by herself gave her enough time to think about her next move. Without weapons and no idea or enough mana to replicate the weapons her soul had created to save herself from Berthe's, she had to enter to Elder. It would be hard to control her urge to replenish herself with her other's mana and energy, but it would certainly have its uses if she used it carefully. Her power had made mental manipulation easier, she had proved it with that man called Lowe.

Her lips curled in a smirk as she got closer to Elder. She couldn't enter looking like this, not when there were people who once knew her and could be used to give her precious gifts that would make her journey easier. One of them was Lemphad, the other was Echo and, if she got lucky, maybe Hoffman could lead her to speak to the Court. If she managed to get some Lurensian nobles to give her the necessary materials, her plan would be easier to complete. Losing Ruben's El wasn't all that terrible, she had managed to take the head and the soul of one of the Commanders. That alone, was worth the petty lives of unknown villagers. Why had she been so concerned about something so meaningless as the lives of strangers?

She looked at the horn she had attached to her neck with a simple pita cord. She didn't need a fourth seal. It would be a hindrance when her body could take in higher levels of miasma and absorb mana more efficiently. Guards were already a few miles away from her, torches at hand and inspecting some carriages before letting them in. For her disguise to sustain the light of day, she would need a copious amount of mana. She looked back and sniffed the air; there was some campfires scattered across the forest she had left.

Around 25 souls mostly belonging to bandits and guards, were collected by Lara. Their bodies were left to rot, but before they liberated the poisonous miasma that had brought undesirable company back in the tree of El, she absorbed any traces of it. There were no marks of any weapon or poison left. They all had died sudden and unfortunate deaths for a greater cause. Once her power was at its peak, Lara traced unto herself powerful runes that gave her back her old appearance by changing her hair colour to a dark brown and her turquoise eyes to a clear blue.

If it wasn't for her memories and for the dead she left behind, she could believe she had returned to the past: peaceful times she unconsciously yearned for.

Ash
Ash looked down at the table, "You know kid, it's hard working in this field, all the people I pushed away. Like Rain, I remember seeing her once in the Feita fields helping others. Because of my mission at the time I didn't say a word and just continued on, but who would've thought that amazing dancer would appear here too." Ash said, the event he spoke about was an escort request he had, he had saw Rain once and was instantly pulled in by her, but being an escort he wasn't allowed to leave the goods. Ash then looked at Xavier, "Now with you my friend, you where a real help." Ash pulls out a bag of 100,000 ED. "This is payment for your assistance, I know you weren't officially involved but for your assistance I wanna pay you from my own pocket." His vision was starting to blur a little but Ash was used to this feeling, getting up he tipped his hat off to Xavier, "Don't worry about a room in the area, I spoke to the Inn keeper that it's on me." Getting his things together Ash walked out of the Inn and headed towards the Forest Ruins. The Ruins had a great view of Ruben and the Lake Noahs, Ash liked coming up here to get his thoughts straightened up.
"Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping."
Ash started to sing by himself, a song of old.

"A pure power source, like the El crystal. It may not look like it, but this world is dying, having a portion of the power of that crystal would do wonders on the land, it would let it become sustainable for a few months, maybe years with just that much.

Find me a pure power source and we have a deal. Can't say you'll have free reign in here though, a guard will probably be assigned to stay with you at all times, just to keep an eye on things."
He explained while his chains finished their rough patching of his cuts.

Rena ran around town for a while, searching for the runaway girl. Some people directed her toward the outskirts of Lake Naoh and sure enough, she found Rain. She leaned against a nearby tree, panting as she caught her breath.

When she looked up, her breath was once again taken away by the fairy dancing on the water's surface. A faint smile appeared on her lips. She made sure not to make any sound when she jumped lightly onto the tree beside her. She settled down on a large branch and peered out over the lake again, watching the girl's graceful and gentle movements.

As she began to feel comfortable, the sound of someone singing reached her ears. The person was still a far distance away but Rena's elf ears were not just for show. She glanced between the dancing girl and the direction of the singing in panic. Not wanting Rain to be interrupted and possibly run off again from embarrassment, she jumped off the tree and quickly made her way to the source before it could get close enough for Rain to hear. She was surprised to see Ash in a strange state, walking alone as he sang to himself.

"Ash? Did you guys already finish eating? Ah, wait, come with me."

She grabbed the young man and pulled him toward the lake. Ducking behind the tree, she gestured at the lake and put a finger to her mouth.

"Shh, watch. By the way, where's Xavier? He's not with you?"

"That would mean stealing parts of the El," he said. "That can be done."

He summoned a small portal, and brought out the El shard he was given by Lara.

"Piece by piece, that is."

Ash
Ash looked at Rena, "He's enjoying his meal, he was worried since you didn't return." Looking off into the distance Ash saw the dancing Rain, rubbing his eyes. "I must be drunk, I swear I see Rain dancing. I haven't seen that since Feita." Ash kept rubbing his eyes while looking down. "Well, I'll take a light rest here." Ash looked at the sky seeing the sun and guessed it was around 11:30 am, looking at Rena Ash asked her to wake him at 12:30.

"Hmm..." Xavier watched Ash leaving the table, and out the door. "Well...we got some money at least," he said as he briefly checked the bag. He started to ponder whether or not to follow after the man, though he needed his rest and the food was doing their marvelous work at making him full. Especially the drink. "....one more drinks couldn't hurt..."

He lied to himself at that. Once he was done, he abruptly rose from his seat, wanting to rest his eyes now. Komodo did his best to eat up the rest of the food before jumping on Xavier and disappearing into the hood. Xavier walked up to the Inn Keeper with a lazy smile on his face.

"Heeeey, lemme get a roomie," Xavier said as he was about to reach for his money.

"Oh, no need. Your friend paid it off for you. Here's the key to your door," the inn keeper responded, holding out the key.

"Oh yeah!" Xavier shouted, unnecessary for him to do so. He tried to grab the key, missing a couple of times until the man literally had to grab his hand and let it drop on his palm. "TO THE BED!" Xavier begun to head out.

"Other way sir."

"OTHER WAY IT IS."

With much difficulty and having to dodge a thrown vase from opening up the wrong room, Xavier found his room. He, somehow, managed to open and lock the door, settled down his belongings and taking Komodo out of the hoodie. He grabbed one of the pillows to put Komodo on, putted the pillow down next to the bed and flopped on the mattress. Lights were out for him as he slept with a content smile.

Rena shook her head helplessly as Ash fell asleep on the ground beside her.

"Excuse me for touching your hat without permission."

She took his hat off his head and placed it over his stomach. It wasn't much of a blanket but it could at least cover his belly so that he wouldn't wake up with a painful stomache in the morning. With a satisfied smile, she jumped lightly onto the tree once more and continued to watch the fairy.

"Well I'll be damned..." Dust said surprised to see the stone.

His door was knocked before a covered succubus entered the picture.

"I-I-I was c-called t-to he-heal you, s-s-sub c-commander..." She stuttered as she entered with her doctor bag.

"Come in and try to not make too many mistakes this time around, Agatha." He responded while looking at the disciple.

"I'll have a word with the counsel as promised, make yourself at home here for now, I'll prepare you a place for you to stay in a couple of days." Dust then grabbed the crystal and couldn't help but smile.

"A small step, but better than what we've been doing for the last couple weeks."

He felt the cold tingle of Henir on his shoulders. The soft chuckle of the God played in his ears, unheard by anyone else. Henir had agreed with his actions. This may be a small step, but it was a huge step in his opinion.

"Alright."
