Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Rena giggled as the lizard rubbed his nose against her skin.

"Hey, that tickles little guy."

Moonlight poured into the dim room, leaving a portion of light below the window. Some of the light reflected off of a piece of glass on the floor and shone onto Rena's back. She gave the dragon a quick pat and changed Xavier's towel.

"You should get some sleep. I'll take the sofa. Don't worry about getting a nightmare. I'll wake you up if you do."

"Right..." Xavier sighed, nodding his head lightly. Komodo went ahead to snuggle up against Xavier, resting near his head. Xavier took a moment before he cleared his throat. "Thanks, Rena. ...See you in the morning."

"Good night, Xavier. Sweet dreams."

Rena stared at Xavier for a little while, thinking. She then placed her hand over his face, hovering a few inches above his skin, and whispered a few words. Her hand began to glow in a softly light. Tendrils of the green energy floated over the boy. Almost immediately, the expression on his face softened.

She ruffled the boy's hair, careful not to wake him up, and got up. She laid down on the sofa and stared up at the ceiling.

It's been a while since I last slept in a room...

Sensing that her thoughts were about to turn toward Dust, she quickly cleared her mind and closed her eyes.

In the dark room, lit up only by the light entering through the small window, a purple light shrouded the elf's shivering body. Drops of sweat dotted her face as it twisted into an ugly sneer. A second wave of light burst out of elf. The green light overwhelmed the purple light in an instant, leaving behind no signs that it had ever appeared.

Silence continued to rule over the night.

Dust grunted every time the healer spreed disinfectant on his back, apparently that lady stabbed him multiple times in different depths, which means more pain to deal with.

"W-w-who d-did t-this t-to y-you, s-sub-"

"Don't ask questions, just focus on healing. Or else you're going to make another mistake, like last time." He reminded her as he gripped the edge of the table, waiting for the treatment to end.

"R-r-right." She responded back while focusing on her magic, trying to close the wounds enough for him to move.

"A shame that we lost Berthe, he was probably the strongest around his kind. That'll be a bad news for the higher ups, but with that Henir guy and the El Crystal, it'll be worth the sacrifice." He thought to himself while the succubus finished her healing.

"I-i-is it b-better?" She asked while doing a light scan on his wounds. He probably was bandaged a little too much. He stretched his neck and massaged his left shoulder.

"I'm not dead, that's a given." Responding, he then got up and stretched, how long was he sitting. "Go back to the barracks and take the night off. That's an order."

"Y-yes s-sir!"
She responded while leaving.

As soon as she did, he let a sigh of relief pass by.

"That girl is trying too hard." He then went to check his 'temporarily' roommate, seeing him asleep on one of his spare beds. "At least he beat me to the punch on that one."

Entering his room, he grunted as he laid down and looked at the ceiling.

"Need to do the paperwork tomorrow, they need a report on how the mission went." He then looked to the side to see a half burned photo.

It held to him sentimental value, but he can't recognize the boy or the man or woman. Next to him, was another person but only a fragment of the body is there the rest was burnt.

*Clink clank*

"I'm fine. I got over it two decades ago trying to figure it out who they are. Besides, what use is there knowing a dead person?" He responded before turning around to get some rest. Tomorrow would be a long day too.

Night was coming to an end by the time Lara had found an inn to stay. She could've asked Echo, but she had a feeling it wouldn't be a good idea to be seen bothering the town's official alchemist so late. People had been observing her, she felt it. With her old reputation, it was hard to keep herself completely under the radar, but having old allies in this town in exchange made it worth it. She had stayed awake until the morning star rose to her window. She looked at her own reflection as the rays of light touched her skin. No changes were visible even mana-wise. The gentle warm light almost brought a burning sensation to her after some minutes, but it was almost priceless to see that her senses weren't affected by the sun.

Looking out the window, covering her eyes from the blinding light to see Elder's commercial area slowly emerge to life from the night's slumber.
"How nostalgic."She thought as she took her cloak from the back of the chair next to her.

She headed out towards Lenphad's workshop, looking around the beige and gold buildings that kept reminding her of what Resiam once had looked like. Upon her arrival, Lenphad put a finished blade to the side and turned his head towards a small door in the back of the room. It was a quiet morning, perfect for her to sneak out under a well-hidden trap door which connected to a tunnel next to the underwater sewage systems of the city that led towards Echo's family house.

It was lit poorly and the distant smell of black waters was disturbing her greatly. The tunnel wasn't originally meant for that, but the small rebellion that had ignited here long ago fell down with the heads of Echo's parents at least seven years ago. That girl had lived on her own ever since, taking her family's trade perfectly and rebuilding her reputation in the court quicker than Lara would've expected. Once at the other end of the tunnel, Lara knocked and the small white haired girl opened the way.

"It has been a long time, Miss third-generation." the girl stated coldly.
Lara refrained a frown at Echo's way to greet her. Being called a "third-generation" was a tacit way for the girl to insult her elven and human ancestors for mixing their blood. Instead, she smiled warmly at the girl above her.

"Good to see you too, Echo. I hope you're doing well."
Echo rolled her eyes and took a bite from her yellow lollipop. "You're too nice for your own good, Lara. You need to let your anger out from time to time or you'll explode" She pushed down a staircase that allowed the young woman to reach the room behind the alchemist's workshop. As she climbed towards the surface, Lara thought that Echo would be the last one who'd to want see her anger unleashed.

"Lenphad told me why you had come here, but I won't let that thing loose before you tell me what you're gonna do with it."

"I'm its owner, I don't think you have the right to ask me that kind of question, Echo."
"My parents helped you finish it, making it also my right to know what you might do when you have that power in your hands. Times have changed Lara, and you too. Lenphad might be too much of a drunk to see it, but I'm not. So let me ask you again: what do you want to do with that blade?"
Things had gotten complicated, but so had her hunger for mana increased. She lowered the power of her illusion so her hair returned momentarily to its "natural" colour.

"You're right Echo. I have changed, like most of us have. Now, tell me where it is."
She had absorbed a small portion of mana and the young alchemist was already at her command. She activated the stone of an amulet she had to her neck and, to her right, a beautiful rapier, sheathed in a sturdy wooden sheath appeared. Lara smirked and took the blade and leapt back to the trap, ordering Echo to close it. Once inside the tunnel, Lara destroyed her psychic link to Echo and, by doing so, wiped all the child's memories of her weapon.

Things were going smoothly. He was given a spare room, in which he stayed. He sat down and gave out a long sigh of tiredness. Many things had happened today. Luckily, he didn't have to use his powers a lot. Such things were given consequences.

Looking up to the ceiling, he laid down on his bed and brought out a screen. It showed a picture of his older brother who...he didn't know if he was still alive, or not. It didn't matter. He had gone too far to turn back. His brother wouldn't be proud of what he had become.

"I'm sorry...Ed."

Rain
When Rain finally decides to wake up, the sun is shining brightly over her eyes, causing her to squint her eyes. Her body feels heavy, and a gnawing sensation in her stomach eats away at her energy.

"Where am I? What was I doing...?"

Struggling to sit up, Rain scans the small room. It did look like the room she slept in, but how did she get here? She turns to her left and finds Ash leaned back in a chair. Finally remembering the events of the previous day, she blushes heavily.

"Oh no...I passed out in front of them! So much for my graceful appearance..."

"Coming from you, that's pretty vain."

Rain continues to stare at Ash.
"That's a pretty uncomfortable position, and he looks heavy..."

Her stomach then releases a loud growl, causing her to cover her stomach in embarrassment.

Ash
Slowly opening his eyes Ash looked in Rain's direction. He could tell she was hungry from the sound coming from her stomach. "Don't worry, I asked for room service earlier when I awoke for some breakfast." as he said this the door was knocked on, Ash got up. The one at the door was none other than the inn keep with the plate filled with food. Receiving the plate Ash went back to his chair placing the plate on the nightstand next to Rain. "I've asked them for a nice heavy meal with a perfect balance of everything, along with a nice jug of fresh squeezed orange juice." Ash said with a smile holding the jug in his hand with a glass in the other. "Now enjoy your breakfast before it gets cold."

Xavier woke up, feeling well rested and perhaps a bit too energic. He sat up, stretching out his arms and letting out a loud yawn. Komodo shifted around from Xavier's movement, getting up from his sleep and stretching as well. Both of them definitely feel better than yesterday. Xavier remembered about Rena and started to get off the bed after pushing the blankets out of the way.

He spotted her on the couch, starting to feel somewhat bad that she had to sleep in one rather than a comfy bed. Xavier kneeled down next the couch, staring at the elf with slight interest. He does admit, she was very beautiful. Everything about her was beautiful. It made him smile.

"So beautiful..." Xavier commented quietly before standing straight and taking a look around the room. He took the chance to look out the small window to check out the weather.

Stirring, Rena yawned and sat up, looking around with half-closed eyes. For a few seconds, she was confused as to where she was. Since she was so used to sleeping out in the forest, she didn't recognize immediately that she was in an inn room. She only noticed the boy sitting by the window on her third scan of the room.

"Oh, good morning, Xavier. Are you one of those early birds?"

She got off the couch and stretched, wincing from the pain. In her determination to not think about Dust, she had completely forgotten about the injuries she had gotten from him the night before.

Late Late

"Yeah, it's a habit for me to get up early," Xavier said, looking back at her. "Morning, Rena." He noticed the small grimace look as she sat up on the couch, giving her a slight worried stare. "Are you alright there? Was the couch uncomfortable for you?" He asked, unaware that it was actually her injuries.

Rain
Her stomach growled again as she spots the food being presented to her.

"Are those freshly made pancakes?! Oh, and they even have bacon!"

"Rain...wait, stop! That's mine!"

Ash must be looking at her strangely, for she is one minute eagerly trying to snatch a piece of toast, and the next she is grabbing her hand and pulling it away. She finally manages to control her body as her hands slowly brings a slice of pancakes into her mouth. After that bite, she was a goner, devouring her food in a quick, savage manner.

Ash
Ash raised his hands, "Whoa whoa, slow down cutie. The food won't go anywhere." Ash says as he pours some orange juice for Rain in the glass, "I gotta say..I'm sorry for scaring you guys...It's just" Ash rubbed the back of his head. "I wonder if I should really tell her."

"Ah, no, it was very comfortable. More comfortable than sleeping on tree branches."

Rena laughed awkwardly as she twisted her body around, pretending to be exercising.

"Are you hungry? We should go get some breakfast and wake the other two up."

She suddenly remembered last night's events and giggled.

"The two of them shared a room together last night. I wonder if anything happened~"

Rena continued to giggle as she imagined how the relationship between the two could have progressed, forgetting that she had also spent a night alone with a certain boy...

Xavier gave her a weird look after what she said. "Well...if something did happen last night, I think we would know," he said without a second thought. "But man my head definitely feels better! And breakfast sounds great."

Xavier moved away from the window and stretched out his body once again. Yes, he definitely feel some sort of positive energy. He just wasn't sure where it came from.

Rain
"C-Cutie?!"

She stops eating at his comment and blushes heavily. Despite what it may look like, no one notices her. In the first few months she spent in this strange dimension, she felt like she was a ghost wandering the land.

"You're so hopeless, Rain!"

Her posture changes, and Rain leans forward, attempting to give the same redness to his face. Her smile becomes more seductive, and she flicks her hair so that some of the tendrils slid over her shoulders.

"It sounds like you have a lot of your mind, Ash. Mind telling me what's wrong?"

She can feel her shyer self trying to bring back control, but she wouldn't let her.

Ash
Ash looked at Rain who moved in more, his face got a little flustered so he put his hat down more, "Long ago in when I had a mission in Velder I ran into demons...well not really ran into but we where ambushed, this was the first time demons invaded Elrios." Ash fixed himself on his chair, coughing a little as he couldn't get the appearance of the current Rain out of his mind.
"During that invasion the demons killed everyone I knew, I tried saving as many people as I could, but it was hopeless. I was left as the last man waiting for reinforcements as I tried to save a girl and hold the demons back."

Ash bit his lip a little.
"I told the young girl to run for her life, at the time I used that armor you saw in the forest to fight off the demons because of it's raw power but it didn't help me or the girl I tried to save. That was because a demon dug her sword deep through the girls heart. This very same demon."
Ash reached for a glass of orange juice, taking a nice long gulp.
"This demon and her twin brother captured me and used me as a human test subject to see what makes us tick. I was split open multiple times when they found out about my healing factor. They tampered with my soul, my mind and even my armored form to where I see everything as a demon, that was the reason I attacked Rena."

Other Rain
She stops seducing him once he told her his story. He really has gone through a lot more than she realized.

"Torture and guilt. The corruption of a strong weapon. A recurring nightmare. You certainly aren't human if that hasn't snapped your soul into pieces."

Sitting back to a more proper position, she takes a deep breath and decides she should tell some things about herself.

"There are two personalities living inside this body. We are both named Rain, but I am an older version of her who has taken a different route in life. We come from a different dimension of Elrios, one where Henrir has recreated the world. As to why I'm in this body...I do not know because..."

She takes a deep breath, preparing herself for the bomb she is going to drop.

"I'm supposed to be dead. At least, the side that is speaking to you now is supposed to be."

She lets her other self take over, and with a heavy blush still on her face, she continues her breakfast.

Ash
Ash's eyes opened up a little but it wasn't noticeable considering how he was hiding his eyes from view, "Well I believe both of you are rather cute. Since you shared your secret with me I think I should share mine as well." Ash stood up from his chair, "As you said I am not just a regular human. I am the God of War Ares. Ares come forth." Requesting his appearence, Ares manifested himself next to Ash. "Ash and I are one being, we are from a different world but he was reborn in this one, a world without a god of war but because War exist everywhere our powers and his memory passed on. And it seems I was right, you do resemble Freya." Ares said as he placed a hand on the chin of his helmet.

Rain
Hearing Ash call her cute a second time sends her blush to spread to her ears and her eyes to avoid his figure. But when another being manifested next to the flustered man, she instantly curtsied.

"A-a god, you say? I'm honored to meet you, Ares. Though I'm afraid my other self is just an ordinary human who likes to put me in uncomfortable situations."

"He can't even look at you in the eye anymore. Looks like I still have it."

"Rain..." she whines, covering her face.

At the mention of a girl's name, however, she uncovers her face to question him more.

"Freya...is that the name of the girl who died? H-how do I resemble her?"

NinthSomnus9029 NinthSomnus9029

Ash
Ares shaked his head, "She is another god of war, the song you sang is a melody from our world that can calm a gods rage." Ares snickers a little, "And poor Ash has been attracted to you since he ran into you in Feita haha." Ares looked at Ash and mocked him. Ash couldn't help but not move.

Morning came to the demon world, Dust simply looked to the ceiling recollecting the things that happened yesterday.

He lost Berthe, he lost comrades and he was badly injured.

"Telling their family members is going to be hard, always has been." He thought to himself while pushing himself to get out of bed. His injuries still burned, even during the night, but that's the price he took from yesterday.

He gathered some materials from his desk inside his sack bag. He was going to need them for the amount of paperwork he needed to do.

Then there was the problem with their new ally. What to do with him until the next mission? Maybe he could take him with him towards the Harvest Pillar, next to the farmlands. He needs to insert the Crystal there in order to get crops, after he's done with talking with the council that is.

"I just can't get a free day this month..." He let go a sigh, as he made his way towards the kitchen and make a light breakfast for him and his guest, some buttered toast, a plate with two fried eggs and a glass of purified water.

He went to the guest room to see Henir's disciple still sleeping.

"Hey get up, little administrator, sun's up."
He kicked the bed, effectively stirring him from his sleep.

His eyes flickered open. It had been some time since he last slept relatively alright. Usually, his sleep was riddled with nightmares and coiling dread. What an excellent life to lead. He had spent most of the last night reminiscing.

He said nothing but stood up and his drones whirred back to life.

Fume Fume

"Breakfast's ready. Get over to the kitchen, have a seat and eat up. Last thing I want, is someone saying I didn't properly fed them." He said while making his guest follow him and make him sit down opposite of him.

"Mail for sub-commander Dust!" A voice came outside alerting him.

"Mail? Haven't gotten one of those for a couple of weeks now." He commented while heading outside.

A glitter demon with a postman's hat flashed him a grin as he rummaged his sack.

"Here you go! A letter from the council and!" He rummaged again. "A letter, doesn't say who from though."

"Two in one? That's unusual." He received the letter. "Here, thanks for your hard work." He tipped the glitter with a couple hundred of ED.

"Thank you sir! Have a nice day!" He replied while jogging towards the next house.

He opened the letter from the council first as he sat down to both eat and read.

"Sub-commander Dust

Good to see you alive again, rookie. You asked us to come together for a small meeting, right? You know how hard it is to pull everyone together, but you still ask?
How cruel of you! But alas, I'll do what I can to summon them. If it's you, then it outta be good, considering what you've done for us since you've joined.
Just don't expect all of us to be together, some of us aren't in good terms with one another, as you know.
Also, a shame that Berthe kicked the bucket, he had potential to lead the invasion of Feita. Oh well, doesn't matter.
I hope to see you soon!
Yours truly, Karis."

"She needs to stop sounding like that. It would help me more if she stopped trying to take me into her quarters." He thought aloud while putting the letter back in the envelop. He then looked at henir's disciple staring at him. "Ignore me, this is just something that goes back."

Next was the other anonymous letter.

"Hybrid, Elder's lord is trying something big. You might wanna come see it." At the end was an on symbol.

"Well, that's something to look into."
He stashed the letter in the envelop and then put it in his sack. "Alright, new guy, if you're going to stay with us I'm going to need a name. Name's Dust and you are?"

K KizayaTaishuro

Oblivio

He wondered what the letters were about. Looking up at Dust, he answered the question, "My name's Oblivio."

That was a new alias he called himself after he was thrown into the Void. He hadn't seen his older brother for decades (since Void time went differently). He wondered how his brother would think of him now, working for the God of Darkness, Henir. There was no turning back...not for him, he had gone too far.
