Pokemon Seniti Region

([MENTION=3473]shadowdude505[/MENTION]: fake out if a priority move that works only on the first turn, so it always goes first. But if you two are okay with the hit, then you can continue. Just know that from now on fake out is used as the first hit.)

The Purrloin gave a toothy grin as she touched back down to the ground. With a mad dash forward, she glanced past the Shinx whilst tearing into its side with a quick swipe from her claws [scratch]. Of course, she had a profound opportunity to cause more damage, but she hadn't fully gauged the Shinx's abilities yet. The dark cat twirled around and approached her opponent from its flank.

'Tough talk from the little kitten,' Cleopatria sneered.

Shinx grimaced when Cleopatra scratched her. "How's this for tough talk?" Shinx asked, before sending waves of electricity out of her body [discharge].

'Argh! Not this again!' Cleopatria moaned as her fur stood on end.

The dark cat braced herself against the pulsing current to the best of her abilities. Sadly, the effects of the electric-type attack were too much for it to properly brace against, and Cleopatria found herself knocked back a second time. As she tried to get back up, she encountered resistance. Her eyes widened when she realized what the yellow sparks of static jumping through her fur meant. She was paralyzed, and it seemed as if her joints were working against her. Her speed would have to be locked away and used only for true strikes, and even then, she would be severely hampered.

'Briliant, absolutely brilliant.' Cleopatria glared at the Shinx and barred her fangs in a display of dominance. 'Your bark's worse than your bite, you little anklebiter! You gonna stand in one spot like a little coward, or are you gonna fight me on head on?' With an evil twinkle in her eye, Cleo hissed: 'You're a disgrace to your own kind! Come at me, sister! Just TRY to prove me wrong!' [Torment]

"I don't have to use discharge," Shinx said to Cleopatra, before smirking, "You want me to fight head on, well...how's this?!" Sparks generated from Shinx's fangs as she ran toward Cleopatra with her maw wide open [thunder fang].

Anyone could see that an attack like that would be quite powerful if the recipient did not put their body into it. Cleopatria, still struggling against the paralysis, contemplated what to do. Things were locking up on her and preventing her from evading properly. But she couldn't give up; she personally forbade giving up if she could still fight and there was still enjoyment to be had.

"Come on Cleo!" Seth shouted from the sidelines. "Remember that lesson about speed and physical attacks?"

The Purrloin blinked once before nodding. Of course! If the opponent was more agile than her and their favorite method of attack was to land physical blows, simply dodging the strikes would only tire her out. Instead of constantly being quick on her feet, a more headstrong solution would be to stay where she was and take the attacks headon, usually with some sort of counter or brace. Cleo ignored the sparks glinting off her whiskers as she hunkered down before rising up with her right paw slashing diagonally up with her. [slash] She silently hoped that the attack would land on the charging Shinx, or else she would be knocked onto her back like a Turtwig.

Shinx was knocked back and grimaced when a sharp pain went down her side. She began to feel light headed and she could barely hear her trainer's voice, before she passed out. Leo send her back into a pokeball. "Good battle," he said to Seth, before sending out Falcon. "I better be off, I promised I'd be somewhere today and I plan to keep it," he added, as he got on his bird pokemon. He began to ride Falcon to his old home town.

Cleopatria stared at the defeated Shinx for a moment. She could hardly believe it! The lesson had paid off, and she was victorious! With a mew of satisfaction, the dark cat struck a satisfied pose with her paws on her hips. Then, she immediately stiffened up and fell flat on her face. Right, still paralyzed.

"Cleo!" Seth called out as he went to his companion. "Heh, you alright? You did a fine job in that fight."

'Mm... Thanks,' the Purrloin said with a stiff smile.

Seth reached into his backpack and pulled out a small cheri berry. The red berry gleamed in the light of the sun. Without delay, the trainer handed his pokemon the berry and watched fondly as she ate it to cure herself of paralysis. Before too long, the Purrloin was back on her feet and back on Seth's shoulder.

"Well, that was exhilarating!" Seth chuckled.

Nex simply watched as the trainer left on his bird pokemon. "He just appeared out of nowhere and he leaves just like that?" Sage said to Nex. "He probably came here because he saw us with the eon pokemon." Nex answered, "Either way he isn't a big threat. The paralysis would have made it easier to land in projectiles." Nex always seemed to analyze the people he meets, especially when they fight. He can usually point out a small detail that could have been the difference between victory and defeat.

Flare was in her Shadocorp. office playing chess with her Zoroark. "Timing is everything," she said to her pokemon, "Dad's notes on taking over the region was very specific about when to move forward." "If only he was alive..." she thought to herself. As if he sensed her doubt, the Zoroark spoke to his trainer, "Your father chose you to lead his organization when he could have selected one of his officers. He believed that you would run this place better then they would." "Thanks Shadow," Flare said with a smirk, before glancing at her phone. "I wonder what Torik is up too..."

Torik walked through the halls of the Shadocorp building with Ghost floating behind him. He was going to report the "eon incident", as well as some of the other things he has done, to Flare. He whistled The Song that gets on Everybody's Nerves to himself as he got closer to the room that Flare was in.

Shadow used his illusion ability to look like a murkrow when he heard Torik coming and flew onto Flare's shoulder. "There you are," Flare said to Torik, "What information do you have about the civilians of this region? Are they ignorant enough to allow you to get away with your thievery?"

"I had a little trouble with one person, but I easily got out of that situation. I've already stolen from a pokemart and a food store." Torik said, "if anyone saw me, they would have thought I was a common thief. But I have more important things to report. Latias has escaped."

"According to my dad's plans...we'll need the eon pokemon," Flare said, "This is a set back...but as long as we continue to operate in the shadows, we'll be fine." "Who was the person you had trouble with?" Shadow asked Torik.

"I never got a name. She has a liepard though." Torik said to Shadow. "I showed her that if she tries to mess with me again, I could easily put some of the blame on her and disappear." "Maybe if this whole stealing thing doesn't work out, I could be an actor..." Torik thought to himself.

"If you see her again, call me. Maybe she would want to work for me," Flare said. Shadow changed his illusion to look like a liepard.

"She didn't seem like the 'take over the world' type." Torik said. He then turned to Shadow and said, "And was that supposed to catch me off guard? I knew that you were a zoroark. You can look like a murkrow, but your murkrow has a heavy zoroark accent."

Shadow went back to his Zoroark form. "Your no fun to mess with," he said to Torik with a smirk. "Thanks for the report," Flare said to Torik, "I suggest you turn your attention back to the mission at hand," she added, before looking at her father notes.

'What if that Shinx had a static ability?' Cleopatria asked Seth as she licked her paw. 'How would I be able to get past that?'

Seth tore his eyes away from the retreating trainer and looked back to his partner. Fighting electric types was usually a bother because of that ability. Physical combat specialists would become paralyzed when they tried to show their stuff, and those who needed to tackle their foes down to provide windows of opportunity for bigger strikes would never get the chance to end the fight if they could not move. Projectile fighters never seemed to have that problem because they did not come into contact with their static foes. The Purrloin did not have any projectile attacks.

"It's safe to say that you will get paralyzed often by electric types if they have that static ability," Seth replied. "I say, lower their defenses and wait for an opening before striking true for a critical hit. If there needs to be a whittling down of defenses that can only be done by attacking, I can give you a cheri berry to place around your neck so you can be free of paralysis if it comes on."

'Sounds like a good plan, or I could just use assist and hope that Ken's flamethrower comes to me.'

Seth nodded and smiled at that before he turned on his heel and traversed through the forests near the town he had just came from. While fighting trainers was all well and good, the fact that he had no projectile fighters rubbed him the wrong way. Hopefully he would be able to catch some kind of helpful pokemon out there in the wild.

"Or you could have used shadow ball." Nex said to Seth, "And if I went against an electric type with Sage, his ability would make the electric type paralyzed as well. Then I would use heal bell to remove Sage's paralysis. Although the static ability wouldn't help them very much because Sage is a projectile fighter."

"Oh, I almost forgot; they were able to send us a full scan of Latias, but that was all they had time to do." Torik added. "And if you don't mind me asking, why do we need Latios and Latias?"

"We need Latias to power the machine and Latios' loner personality to cause the machine to cover the world in darkness," Flare replied. "At least...that's what Dad's notes say," she added, before looking at Torik, "You should get back to your mission."

"I didn't exactly understand that, but you're the boss." Torik said as he began to walk out of the room. "Although you might be able to use the scan to recreate the soul dew. They each have one and it is the source of some of their power." He added as he left.

Seth only vaguely made out what Nex had said in his efforts to move into the forest. Shadow ball? Given that Cleopatria was a dark type, it was a viable move to learn, and given that the Purrloin tended to think lewd and dark thoughts on occasion, the power would be amplified. Perhaps there was a TM of that move around for sale in the region.

Scratching his beard, the young man peered into the forest and slowly foraged through bushes for any berries or Pokemon resting. The floating city was bound to have a few visitors that had made their home here; Seth was sure of it. Cleopatria dropped off of his shoulder and checked under rocks and other overhangs for shiny objects, occasionally searching for a scent from a Pokemon. If Ken was out of his pokeball, he would be in the middle of a clearing to egg wild Pokemon on to attack him. Cleopatria was more subtle, thankfully.

"You know, maybe I should be fishing for a Pokemon," Seth said to himself.

'Why's that?' Cleopatria mewed.

"I could use a water Pokemon. They might just be hard to find here in this region."

Nex followed Seth into the forest. He was interested to see what would happen. "I hope one of your pokemon know false swipe. All of the pokemon found here are at their first evolution and are generally weak." He said as he ducked under a branch. Sage telepathically searched for wild pokemon around him as they walked. Half of them were grass or bug types, with the other half varying. He saw a caterpie in the distance. "I hate bugs..." Sage said with a disturbed tone in his voice.

"...False swipe? A fainted Pokemon is a catchable Pokemon."

Seth pushed down the urge to groan. He was thankful for Nex's assistance with Latios and Latias, but without any leads towards the scientists who imprisoned the innocent legendary dragon, there was really no need to pursue anything other than his own interests. That said, Nex should have went on his own path and left Seth be. Sure, he might have wanted someone for directions, but that was what a map was for.

Cleopatria, on the other hand, seemed very pleased to have company. She moseyed her way over to Sage and darted between his legs in a playful greeting. As a female, she knew that the Gardevoir in front of her was not a female as many humans would suggest. It was simple intuition at it's finest. With an inqusitive tilt of her head, Cleopatria followed Sage's gaze to the Caterpie and stuck her tongue out.

'Ugh... Bugs. I hear ya, they're nasty little critters, but try batting around a Kakuna.' The Purrloin grinned wickedly. 'So much fun, although it does blanch a bit when you realize they can't even struggle.'
