Fantasy Pokémon: Region of Darkness RP (Sign Ups, Still Open)

[Endless Thundaza]

Welcome to the region of Tamara! It is a beautiful mountainous region, filled with many species of Pokémon. It is also a resting spot for legendary Pokémon, including the “Original One”, Arceus. However, not all is peaceful here, as a shady group of individuals believe the world is imperfect and unbalanced, and without leaders. They call themselves “Team Yami”. Their goal is to obtain a certain number of legendary Pokémon, via Team Galactic’s old method, the “Red Chain”, and use them to create a new world, and to keep order in said new world, as well as bringing fourth “The Darkest Day”. All across the region, there are shrines dedicated to the Pokémon of interest. The southeast shrine is dedicated to the creation trio, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. The shrine to the north is dedicated to the weather trio, Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza. And finally, the shrine to the Southwest is dedicated to the aura trio, Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde. Finally, in the heart of Tamara, lies a lonesome shrine, dedicated to Eternatus. Whether you’re a newly fledged Pokémon Trainer, a veteran, or even a member of Team Yami, it is time to create your own path. Will you embark on a Gym Challenge? Help defeat Team Yami? Help them accomplish their goals? Or do you prefer to keep out of the fight? The choice is yours.

Rules

• No god modding. Absolutely no legendary Pokémon of any kind are allowed in your party. There will be instances where we’ll battle legendary Pokémon, but these will be during certain scenarios I will enact.
• Romantic relationships between characters are allowed, however, keep in mind that this is Pokémon, so keep it PG13.
• Do not dominate the plot. Though Team Yami’s goals are very important to the plot, there will be those who are embarking on their own Pokémon adventure.
• Do not dare try to auto hit or control another player’s character or Pokémon. This is self explanatory.
• You are permitted to have 6 Pokémon in your team, but to keep the RP moving efficiently, you are only permitted to have 3 Pokémon of your choice during each battle.
• I understand Shiny Pokémon are cool and exotic, but because of that, I’d like to keep only one shiny max in our parties
• If you are a Gym Challenger, you may pick any baby Pokémon of your choice as your starter, and you may catch more Pokémon along the way. I will let you know when your Pokémon are allowed to evolve.
• Dynamaxing, Gigantamaxing, and Mega Evolution will be returning. However, Z Moves will not be returning, and Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing will only occur in certain scenarios.
• Not so much a rule, but I would like everyone to post at least once every two weeks. If you cannot meet this threshold or if you decide to withdraw from the RP, please PM me. Life happens.
• To show you have read these rules, please type you favorite Pokémon under your character sheet.
• Have fun!

Now that the rules are out of the way, here are three paths you may take.

Gym Challenge: You are a brand new trainer residing in Pluffel Town or Ituri Town who seeks to be the best, or wish to fill your PokéDex. You will receive your first Pokémon and begin your adventure through the Tamara region’s 8 Gyms. But beware, you will encounter Team Yami along the way. Whether or not you wish to be of assistance to the Resurgence will be up to you.

Resurgence: You are actively seeking to keep Team Yami at bay. Whether you are an experienced trainer or an ex champion, you are permitted to have any non-legendary Pokémon of your choice. You venture around the Tamara region, looking for clues about legendary Pokémon and their significance in the region, while also keeping on the lookout for Team Yami.

Team Yami: You are a higher up of Team Yami. You frequently have grunts on your side willing to battle for you, however, your mission is to collect as many Wishing Stars as you can, scout out the three shines dedicated to legendary Pokémon, as well as stomp out anyone in your way, or poses a threat to Team Yami.

Characteristics: Jake is very much a gentle soul. Despite his tremendous knowledge in Pokémon battles, he is more than willing to show new trainers the ropes. Even if he loses, he never holds a grudge towards others, but rather learns from his mistakes. However, he does not tolerate Team Yami’s interference with the Tamara Region.

Bio: Jake was born in the Sinnoh Region where he got his very first Pokémon, a Riolu, who he shared a close bond with. His family moved to the Tamara Region when he was 7, and he aspired to be the Tamara Champion. He set fourth on his Gym Challenge once he reached the age of 12, and he never lost any battles until he reached the Champion. Despite the fact that he in fact gave the Champion a good run for their money, Jake ultimately lost. But he didn’t have time to grieve, as there was a new threat developing in the Tamara Region, Team Yami. Years went by, and Jake understood their goals, and he knew exactly what he need to do to at least hold Team Yami off. Despite his defeat by the Champion, he and his team are still a force to be reckoned with.

Characteristics: Laid-back and happy going. It takes a lot to catch him off guard or discourage him, as he goes along with the flow and always finds a way to get back to his goal. He is very knowledgeable over water type pokemon, and has a special place in his heart for them. He will step out of his way to help a pokemon or clean up a mess.
Bio: For most of his life Nerio has lived at sea. His parents were a Marine Pokemon Researcher and a Marine Archeologists, their lives constantly taking them out in the open ocean and thus bringing Nerio along. Due to this he is quite versed in regards to sea life and water type pokemon. When Nerio turned 10 his parents decided that it would be best to allow him to remain earthbound as to have a normal and sociable life that he had been missing while being at sea. Thus Nerio would move to Itiru Town to live with his grandmother, his parents visiting from time to time. Now he is 16 years of age, and after debating on what he wants to do with his life, he has decided to take the Gym Challenge in hopes that it will give him some direction. Upon hearing that their son was interested in taking part of the Gym Challenge, his parents sent him what would be his very first pokemon; an Omanyte.

Favorite pokemon is Vulpix.

Bio: Silva is a traveling medical practitioner. He and his Audino have traveled far to provide care to many a trainer along the road as well as a trainers team. Along the way he acquired his Psyduck, Venonat, and Phanphy as traveling partners willing to provide support to others. Silva comes from a region where double battles are a pride. As such Silva has seen many strategies come together and fall apart, providing him with a rather tactical mindset, however this mindset is rarely used in favor of his pacifist ideals.

Silva’s passion stems from his own sickly youth. He rarely was out of bed from birth till eventually he was assisted by Lucky. With the aid of her life dew skill and more assistance from some doctors, his condition began to gradually improve. Although bedridden, Silva was smart and read up on the procedures carried out upon him, he constantly sought the doctors advice and information, until the day he left the hospital. This is also where his pacifism stems from, the creed of a doctor. Do no Harm. (He however makes an exception for those trying to harm him or others)


He often carries with him, self made remedies and natural cures such as berries and liquid medication developed from from his own pokemon’s poisons. He isn’t adverse to combat and will often travel with trainers from location to location to assist when he can.

Bio: The heir to the Xipilli Technology Company, he was born and raised in luxury. He never faulted for anything, and his possibilities were endless. When he was younger he took part of the Gym Challenge, but did not manage to even challenge the champion. So he would spend the rest of his time with his pokemon traveling through the regions before eventually returning home. That's when he realized that he had nothing else to do. It would be a very boring year of homecoming before he encountered Team Yami, and there he found what he was looking for; something fun. He finds their goals fascinating, and the thought of helping with such being the fun he was looking for. He wants to see this through, and maybe, just maybe, he will find out what he was meant to do after all.

He had beside him only his Ralts at the start, using its teleportation ability to steal he learned that he could expand his family via pokeballs. So he soon stole those too. His family grew with the addition of Sableye and Ditto. Along with their additions his schemes also grew, deception, thievery, cunning. This all turned to darker shades of grey as his little family grew, muk and Beedrill adding poisoning and harassment to his stained repertoire lastly Crobat added mobility to his life and soon he was committing crime all across the region. At this point he didn’t need anything... besides a place to belong. He longed for a bigger sense of family. Soon Team Yami gave him that chance. Still a street rat he now lends his skills to a causes now he has purpose. A home.

Bio: Baobab was born in the Galar region and moved to the Tamara region when she was 8 years old. She went on a Gym Challenge when she was 12, serving as a good friend and rival of Jake and Ravio. Ultimately, she found more of a fascination with researching Pokémon. However, the emergence of Team Yami has left her unsettled, and often aides the Resurgence when she can.

Characteristics: Sasha is mostly defined by her curiosity. It's what pushed her forward throughout her life. However, she is rather obsessive, sometimes ignoring other, better options. Cunning and crafty, she is more likely to try to trick people into doing her bidding and spreading mayhem, playfully taunting them when she has the power. She is very fond of her collection, spending a lot of time and effort into them. She prefers to use them for fighting only as a last resort. Of late, Sasha feels the world is broken and poorly managed. And though some of her fellow Team Yami members are a pain, they can be worked with or removed at a later date.

Bio: Sasha Pine was a up and coming pokemon researcher in the Galar region, but was denied her professorship for her questionable methodology and disregard for rules. Angered by what she perceived as old farts holding back the next generation, she traveled to the Tamara Region to start her research on her own terms. Her main project is unlocking more evolutionary forms of Eevees, and while also trying to enable her test subject Mesa to change between the different evolutionary options freely. Sadly, funding was problematic. So, she needed a new revenue stream and Team Yami could provide it. After joining them, she realized she was thinking too small in just wanting funding from them. With their help, she could evolve the world...
