Fandom Pokemon Adventures: An Unexpected Beginning

You and your friends have lived in the city for a large portion of your life. It wasn't until recently that the four of you decided to go on an adventure together, but beings that a Pokémon professor is letting you choose a Pokémon to begin your adventure with, you've decided to go. After a long week of convincing your parents, talking amongst yourselves, and deciding on what you were going to do, it is finally the day you'd get your first Pokémon.

As the professor waits in his lab to bestow these adventurers their Pokémon the five of them have decided to meet outside the lab and talk about the beginning of their adventure.

As the professor waits in his lab to bestow these adventurers their Pokémon the five of them have decided to meet outside the lab and talk about the beginning of their adventure.

Kai walks up the lab as he stretched. He was still tired from staying up so late at night. "Where's the others." He said scratching his head.

With a grin and a big bag filled with stuff that Eddie didn't even need, the young boy ran his way to the lab. This was it! He was finally gonna be a trainer! It took the whole week to convince his mom, but she finally put aside her over-protective attitude and accepted it, much to the comedian's joy!


Finally making it to the front of the lab, his eyes widened as he saw one of his best friends standing outside, causing him to run faster before skidding to a stop. "Kai, Kai, Kai!" He exclaimed, looking up at the boy. "It's finally here! We're finally gonna be trainers!"

Hiroshi Shota

After he was done saying farewell to his family and making promises that his name will be known across the whole region, he set out of his house carrying with him a bag full of items he might need. He took a moment to take in the fresh air, before letting out a roar of excitement. He felt like a bird being let out of a cage, and couldn't wait for the journey of freedom and excitement he was about to start. It was surely going to be a totally different experience from being an apathetic puppet who had to go through an idle, colorless life.


He walked forwards and caught sight of two of his friends in front of the professor's lab. Those friends that lived with him in the city were the only things that made him feel like he had choices he could take that weren't influenced by others. He made sure to make the most out of every moment he was with them, and he was going to try do that even harder now. He called their names as he waved, "Hey, Kai, Eddie!"

ZOEY(Z)CARDIGAN

Zoey woke up lazily to her black and red alarm clock, turning it off with a record time of 30 seconds. After that she jumped out of her bed and put on her clothes, she went outside immediately without breakfast as she had an important day today. She picked up what she saved from doing chores for other people and in the end, she had $170.


She walked from her house to the lab to see 3 other people there. From what she heard, there was supposed to be another. It could've been her or the one after her but she didn't care. She wanted pokemon, and a good one. She went up to the group and waved.


"Hey guys, when are we going?! I'm soooooo excited for this! I'm Zoey, you probably don't know me because I stay inside a lot. I know, I know, I should go outside more but why do you think I'm out here."

Hiroshi Shota

A person with a face that was unfamiliar to Hiroshi went up to him and the others and waved. She introduced herself and from the looks of it she was obviously there to get her Pokemon too. He grinned and greeted her, "It's nice to meet you, Zoey." He then turned and looked around, wondering when they'll be able to start their journey.

Kai looked at Zoey and smiled. "Yo." He said as he did to the others he looks up at the lab and smirked. The only thing that came to his mind is he's going to become the best pokemon trainer out there.

Eddie ran up to zoey. "Are you gonna be a trainer too?! Which pokemon are you gonna choose?! What route are we gonna take first?!" Eddie began to shake in excitement. The anticipation was killing him! "My name is Edward Bartholomew Simmons, but you can just call me Eddie!"

ZOEY(Z)CARDIGAN

'So, this kid is smart.' Zoey thought. "Dibs on the grass one. Water and Fire ruin my looks. I want a snake though, seviper maybe. Oh, just call me Z." She wondered when they would be invited inside and get to choose. She was dying from waiting, patience is not her strong suit.

 

[Megus]

Braelyn made her way to the lab, stepping silently along the road. It was a short walk and she would have stayed asleep later, but she was excited. Today she could begin her dream of becoming a pokemon coordinator. She didn't talk much usually, so she hoped her new pokemon would be alright with the silence. Besides, she had heard there were four others that were getting pokemon today as well and they would probably all end up travelling together.

Braelyn could hear the others a while before she could see them. There was at least one loud one among the group, however she didn't know if that made it better or worse. As she approached, Braelyn didn't call out a greeting. Instead she raised a hand, waving to the others. She appeared to have been the last one to arrive, but that was alright.​

Kai looked at Eddie, and chuckled a bit. "Maybe I'll take fire for myself, thinking more of a charmander. But if you guys want fire then I'll settle with Water type, specifically squirtle." He said looking at the two that seem to be younger and shorter then him. "I will tell you now we move at a slow pace I'm heading out on my own. My goal is to be the very best pokemon trainer and become champion of the Elite four!" He said looking at the beautiful morning sky.

The Professor

Walking outside the professor looked up and opened his arms in a welcome. "Welcome! I'm sorry for making you wait, if any of you came early. I just woke up myself." The professor chuckled and looked at the group of five. "Well, I'm sure you're all excited to go on an adventure so if you'd come inside I'll get you on your way. I'm sure you've waited long enough haven't you?" Opening the door he waved a hand inside where there were not three, not six, but eighteen different Pokémon all doing something different, a few doing the same as others, but all a little different.


A Charmander and Piplup were causing mischief with one of the professor's assistants, tugging on her coat and stealing her snacks. A Squirtle who had just rammed into a wall trying to run into a now proud Chespin and a Bulbasaur checking to see if the Squirtle was alright. A Cyndaquil was making a scene, Chikorita blushing while trying to hide behind a pillar as the newcomers appeared and a Totodile simply watching the newcomers.


As the newcomers would walk in they'd see many more Pokémon. A Treecko was acting bold but had no actual idea what it was actually doing, Torchic trying to convince the Treecko it was being ridiculous and the Mudkip lecturing the both of them. Turtwig was using a few the the snacks Charmander and Piplup stole to tease a scared Snivy out of hiding. While a Chimchar was sitting in a corner on its own. Finally the last few Pokémon. Tepig, Oshawott, Fennekin, and Frokie all relaxing and talking amongst each other as they watched the group of new comers.


The professor laughed at the many scenes that were happening and waved to his assistant. "I believe everyone's hungry, if you could go fetch everyone's Pokéballs that would be lovely please." She nodded and lightly slapped the Charmander's paw away from her as she rushed away to fetch the Pokéballs. Charmander and Piplup took this chance to steal the rest of the snacks as well. "Well, as you can see it's quite lively with eighteen residents but it's quite manageable as well for the two of us."

Kai looked at the charmander making direct eye contact hoping that it would like him at first sight. If things didn't go well he'd go for the treeko or the squirtle. He crouched down hoping the Charmander would walk over to him. Something about Kai ever since he was a kid always made pokemon love him at first sight. He's always had friends when him and his mom would go out shopping.

Zoey(Z)Cardigan

Z looked around the lab and then saw the snivy. Her eyes lit up, hoping that it would like her. She didn't think about any other options. She went back to the professor and asked, "Um, professor. I would like the cute Snivy, it's perfect for me." She always smiled when she spoke, nothing really bothers her anymore. She really hoped she got the snivy, if she didn't she'd probably cry... a lot.

Eddie's eyes lit up as he observed the pokemon. They were all so cool looking! And there were so many to choose from! As he looked around the room, his eyes landed on the turtwig, causing him to smile. He wasn't exactly sure why, but something about the turtle-like creature caught his attention, and he found himself strangely walking toward it, crouching down and poking its shell curiously.

Braelyn smiled silently at the professor as he stepped out of the lab to welcome them in. He seemed pretty nice, and Braelyn relaxed at his words. It couldn't be too hard to make a choice about a pokemon could it? Well, that's what she thought originally before they were led into the lab.

The lab was chaotic. Pokemon all over the place, all doing one thing or another. Maybe this was going to be harder than she had thought. Carefully Braelyn scanned over the pokemon. Some of the others had already seemed to choose their pokemon. Z had already asked for the snake-like pokemon that was hiding in a corner.

Her eyes flitted from one pokemon to the next, each one a possible partner, but none of them feeling exactly right. Then her gaze stopped on one of the pokemon sitting calmly amongst its friends. From what she could tell, it was a water type.

Braelyn didn't know the name of the pokemon exactly, but she felt drawn to it. Taking a couple of timid steps forward, Braelyn slowly neared the small group of pokemon. As she got closer, she could tell that the pokemon she had her gaze set on was small with an odd scalchop resting on its stomach. It was actually pretty cute.​

Hiroshi simply waited in quiet anticipation for the arrival of the last person and the professor as the others began to make conversation amongst themselves. His eyes widened a bit when he heard someone saying that his goal was to beat the Elite Four and become the champion. He knew that he'd have to battle others in his journey to become the Pokemon Champion, but didn't really expect one of his friends to become a friendly rival. A grin formed on his face because of the excitement within him, and he was about to say something to him when the last person that was supposed to be here appeared. A quiet person, it seemed, since she just waved and didn't say anything. He waved back, and shortly after, the professor made his grand entrance.


"He's the calm and cool type, huh?" He stated to himself in a low voice. When he entered the lab, he stood frozen in shock, his eyes glittering. There were so many Pokemon there, all doing their own thing, and he was simply amazed by the sight. He turned his head to look at the professor, and wondered, 'How the heck can he be so calm in a situation like this?'


Since the others were doing the same, he looked over each of the Pokemon there. He saw a Chimchar sitting on his own, and thought he might have been feeling lonely, so he calmly and quietly approached him, before crouching down next to him. "Why are you sitting by yourself like that?" He asked him in a quiet and gentle tone.

The Charmander walked over to Kai with a big grin on his face. At first the Charmander strutted his stuff to impress the trainer and then shot a small puff of fire in his face before running around with a smiled on its face.

The Professor

"Well, why don't you go try to make friends with it. I let you guys decide if you actually like them, meaning you have to talk to them." The professor chuckled at the sight he just witnessed with Kai and the Charmander and spoke to him as well. "Charmander always does like his tricks and games."

Eddie's eyes lit up as he observed the pokemon. They were all so cool looking! And there were so many to choose from! As he looked around the room, his eyes landed on the turtwig, causing him to smile. The Turtwig who was tormenting the Snivy just a moment ago freaked out when he was poked and clamped his turtle jaw on the poker with a slight glare on his face. He didn't bite hard, but he sure didn't like his shell to be prodded.

As the girl approached Oshawott the other Pokémon took a step back. Oshawott looked up at the trainer and gave a smile as it realized it was being admired. Taking the scallop on its belly it threw it up in the air before placing back in its spot and the Oshawott held out a paw to the trainer.

As the Chimchar was approached he looked up at the trainer with sad eyes. The professor then butted in. "Oh that's Chimchar. He's always been a little secluded from the others, we've tried to cheer him up but nothing we've done has seemed to work. Perhaps you have an idea?"

Zoey hesitated to speak, she was too obsessed with looking at the snivy.


"Oh, ok!" After that she walked to the snivy in the corner. She got on both knees and looked at it.


She couldn't help but pet it. She stroked it's back gently with her right index finger.


"Hello little snivy, I love you already." She said lying on her side with her hood on.


'Please love me back... you're my first chance.' She thought.

Hiroshi reached out his hand to pet the Chimchar on the head, hoping that it'll calm down a little. "I think all he needs is a person who can truly care for him and focus most of his or her attention on him." He stated in reply to the professor's question. "And I don't think it was possible to do that for you since you have so many Pokemon to look after." He hoped that he didn't sound rude in saying that, he was simply suggesting a reason for why they weren't able to console Chimchar.

Z Cardigan

Zoey hesitated to speak, she was too obsessed with looking at the snivy.


"Oh, ok!" After that she walked to the snivy in the corner. She got on both knees and looked at it.


She couldn't help but pet it. She stroked it's back gently with her right index finger.

Snivy

At first the Snivy was about to retreat from the girl's touch, but then he was gently pet and his leaf tail shivered in content. Happy with the trainer's careful touch he walked up and rubbed himself against her in content. The professor smiled, "I do believe he likes you as well." The Snivy nodded his head in agreement.

Hiroshi reached out his hand to pet the Chimchar on the head, hoping that it'll calm down a little. The Chimchar continued to watch the trainer and the professor with the same sad look on his face and let the trainer pet him. The professor then looked back to them and smiled. "Seems your getting along with Chimchar a little. Perhaps you have a point, but either way I think an adventure would do good for Chimchar."

Hiroshi made his decision. He had no doubt about it. "I choose this Chimchar then." He was sure that Chimchar would be the perfect match for him, so he looked at the professor, waiting for him to agree so that his decision would become official. He was going to take Chimchar along with him through the region, fighting battles with it and making him open up more and feel less lonely.

Z and Snivy

Z smiled, the first one was a success.


She carefully put both hands under Snivy's soft body and picked him up quickly. Snivy shut his eyes tight, it felt like he was in danger. A tear went out his eye. But he opened them to see the girl smiling at him, so he softly smiled back. He felt he was slipping off her hands, so he shut his eyes tight again.


"Aw, what's wrong? Ohhhhh, you're frightened... don't worry I'll keep you safe." She said softly as she scratched him and walked to the professor. She looked at the adult and said, "I'll take this one with me. I love him."


Snivy opened his eyes again after he heard his safety was fine.
