Finbar frowned and placed his hand on Rosie's back, leading her away from the others to talk privately.
"You know, you aren't in Kanto or Jhoto, you don't have to bow to anyone." He joked poorly, trying to make the following conversation a little easier to hear.
"Your mother, regardless of what she's done or why, loves you very much, that much is obvious, so clearly you'll see her again... but, I'm afraid she will likely be going to prison... Right now she's being held in a jail cell at the police station in town, but visiting hours don't begin until tomorrow, and on her salary as a teacher she won't be able to post bail so... I'm afraid you'll have to wait. Ultimately what you do is up to you, and although your mother and I don't get along we do know each other very well... Despite how things turned out, I feel she would want you to live your own life and make something of yourself, and I also feel like if if you had been given your first poke`mon by any other professor, she would be giving you this advice herself. So, I would recommend you give her your pokegear number and have her call you when she gets settled in prison, but go on your way. Of course if you do want to see her before you leave, as I said she should have visiting hours some time tomorrow. Either way you have your own choices to make now, and I can't really help anymore than that."
He patted her on the back in what he hoped was a more encouraging way than a creepy one and stood up.
"Alright, I'm overdue for some very important work at this point, so Damian I'll trust you to show them the way out?"
With that he turned and walked down the hall, entering his office and seeing that it was empty, no Tobi in sight.
He sighed and sat at his desk with his hands in his hair, reflecting on the events of the day.
