Yes, very much so. =(

how a convict condemned by the Magic council, escaped from their own prison, still retains full legal guild membership and S qualifications is astoundingly confusing
Because he isn't a legitimate threat, he just pisses the magic council off, like everyone else in his life. Pretty much anywhere he goes, he's trying to help people, so at the same time, he's good to have around.

I'm not your buddy, guy...

Uwaaah. I'm running my first ever IRL, dice rolling rpg with a couple of old highschool buddies. It was really fun but everything took twice as long as I expected it to and my throat is exhausted, I think I talked as much in those three hours as I do in a normal week.

Unlikely, but would not be met with the same weighty speech

He was put in their personal prison because he pissed them off. A prison a dark magic practicing ex Guild Master is headed to. He escaped, but Royce who'd be arguably more powerful wont?

Atop that, imprisonment should've stripped his rank which escaping wouldn't reinvoke. No more than Royce would be guild master again if he escaped.

Atop that again, if Aedon already accidentally killed one individual, escaped their top security prison, and actively studies dark magic tomes he's a legit threat in every regard.

You're overanalyzing things. The point is, Aedon reads books, amd the magic council doesn't like him. I could explain in more detail, but I'm working off of a tablet, so it would take forever, and it's not something important to the story.

When you have the time at some point I'd love to hear the explanation. From here it seems less overanalyzing, more seeing an obvious plot hole. If further information would lift that I'd love to hear it.

I'm not your pal, compadre.
I'm not your compadre, comrade.

Well, seeing as it really has nothing to do with any of the other characters, it's not something important. The thing is the magic council still wants Aedon arrested but he's not a top priority. It's like trying to arrest someone with a machine gun because they might kill someone. They can't really justify it, Aedon's actions just gives them an uneasy feeling. The first time he was in Black Vox, he still wasn't a top priority prisoner, either. It's a thing between him and the magic council. Nobody else really knows about it.

* ^ * Shhhh...you simply must let it consume you.

Bones and all.
