Is there any reason you can't play two characters to play along, one as the god and one as maybe an influential figure already existing in the world? Or, since Terrect is a god and kinda doesn't care about doing things the right way, I don't think it would be out of character for him to just summon more people and send them out arbitrarily.

I think I increased the word count by almost 200 while I was adjusting it. Sorry, just a little psychological experiment.

That was a big post, it seemed to describe a forest very well. In multiple different ways.
I do like how you can express so well. It was so much however, that my attention span was difficult to maintain and I almost had to read it in two parts

It doesn't describe the forest as much as August's mind. I described his five senses twice, forward and back, and progressively changed the grammar to simulate the spiraling of a mental breakdown. I don't know how to depict a mental breakdown, especially for a soldier who never had a childhood, but I thought it would be interesting.
