Ade smirked, taking quick peeks at Cas’ beaming face as they drove along. “A pink beach? That sounds pretty neat. There’s not much beach around the part we’re going to, it’s all built up for the boats to port in. It’s still nice, though.” He sat back against the seat, opening the window slightly to let the sea air in and taking a deep breath in. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d taken a trip down here – it must’ve been a few years at least. He was glad that it was at least a little sunny, although there was an early autumn chill in the air as it whipped through the car.

After a while, Adrian pulled off the main road and started weaving around the bustling, busy streets, following the signs to the New England Aquarium. He smirked and cocked an eyebrow at Cassidy, “Can you guess where we’re going first?” They turned off at another corner and went into a high-rise parking lot, just a few blocks away from their destination. They both got out and began walking together, with Ade tentatively taking Cas' hand, until they got to the wharf, where a large, shiny building started to materialize, with shiny metal stuck to it that made it glisten like a fish itself.

Cas guessed mockingly, "Lemme see... The aquarium?" He leaned back in the car seat, watching the horizon off in the distance. He appreciated the scene of birds off in the distance, flapping over the water- a boat chugging along the the line where the sky meets the sea, and becomes oblivion. There was always a sensuous air about the sea, it was so relaxing, whether it was cool or warm outside.

Getting out of the car, he entwined his arm through Adrian's, and held his arm close. As the building began to get closer, he noticed the wall was made of scale-like panels. "Woah. Earth, you did not." He looked worried, "Those aren't whale scales, are they? Why would you guys kill one for this?" He furrowed his brow, honestly believing the huge scale panels were actually scales.

Adrian chuckled, “Yeah, what, you didn’t know? Whaling is a very noble profession in the 21st century, you know, even more important than doctors. Whales are almost extinct because we hunt them en masse, in order to cover our building in their scales.” He nudged him with his arm, smirking at his disgusted expression. “Of course not, silly. It’s just metal. Whales don’t even have scales.”

They queued up outside, and Ade paid for two adult tickets (after jokingly asking if under 8’s go free), and a programme and map for Cassidy. They walked into the main entrance, and Ade pointed at an enormous life-size, life-like 45ft whale sculpture that swallowed up the whole room. “Woah, look, Cas! It’s the poor sucker they took the scales off!” he sniggered.

Cassidy looked horrified, and was about to refuse to enter the inhumane place, until Adrian declared he was joking, and he shoved him away with good force, "Shut up, Ade. Whales on Xelesnamm have scales. And they glow all sorts of colors, like a rainbow."

The Lieutenant look amazed at the whale sculpture, but his grin disappeared at the comment almost immediately. He turned about, snatching Adrian by the shirt collar with a 'hardy ha ha ha', before shoving him away again, and going up to the giant whale. He patted the side of the sculpture, "Isn't he huge?" He paused, smirking, "He must be 100 times the size of me... And twice the size of you."

He bounded off for an exhibit that read 'manta rays', quite curious of what one of those were. Upon entering the room, it opened up like a tunnel, glass walls on either side, and above them, revealing tons of fish swimming by in the lit water, making it seem like the hall was glowing, since the human-safe part was really dim. He stood under the dome, amazing as a manta-ray swam by, wiggling its long tail and flapping its wing-like fins, "Those are amazing..." He breathed, going up to a glass wall and peering in to see the creatures on the other side.

Adrian followed after Cassidy, smiling at his childlike enthusiasm. He had to push past a few people to get where Cas was, staring in wonder at a blowfish in a separate tank. The tiny thing was watching him with glistening round fish-eyes, it’s fins slowly flicking as it advanced forward, seemingly curious of it’s human audience. It suddenly bumped into the glass in front of Cas, and it’s mouth opened, rapidly inflating like a balloon and sticking out it’s spines. Ade patted his back as he heard an amazed little “A-zaa…” come from his love’s mouth, and whispered from behind “Neat, huh? They only do that when they’re scared, though.” He teased.

After a while, he noticed a darkened room of to the side, and pulled Cas in with him. They slowly walked through, in almost pitch darkness, save for blacklights that made Cas’ shirt glow painfully orange and both their teeth light up as they grinned. As they did so, bioluminescent creatures began to emerge into their vision, glowing in various colours and forms in tanks that lined the room. He walked a little further, and tapped the glass that contained a long, slow-moving jellyfish that was far bigger than he was, the dim fluorescent lights in the room catching his smile eerily as he beamed. “This guy’s my favourite. Lion’s mane jellyfish. It’s so beautiful.” The colours in the bell of the jellyfish glistened brightly, going from a dark purple to red and then to yellow, with thousands of stringy tentacles coming of it’s body. He stood there for a while, looking at it in awe with a smile on his face.

Cas giggled, "He's scared of me?" He stuck out his tongue and made moose antlers with his hands, causing the fish to scurry away to another part of the tank. He leaned back from the wall with a grin, following Adrian into the next room. He noticed the black light, and laughed at Adrian's smile that lit up bright blue now, "Wow, nice teeth. They're practically glowing~" He hugged Adrian, snorting at his bad pun.

He placed his hand on the glass, as if he could touch the jellyfish. He tilted his head to the side, "They have things like this on the poohlah's planet- they eat them. No other race can, they are very poisonous- but the poohlah have an immunity to it." Looking to the side he grabbed Adrian's arm, and pointed at a box shaped one, "Woah- it's like a cube. Hooow?"

Ade too raised his eyebrows at the box-shaped jellyfish, having not seen it the last time he was there. He chuckled and held his hands out to Cas’ face, wiggling his fingers “Must be 21st century Earth magic~” He sniggered. They spent a little while longer wandering around the dark room, with Ade taking the opportunity to leisurely wrap his arms around Cas’ waist as they stopped at each tank.

When they left again, Adrian guided him over to an area with a rocky texture imprinted on the walls, with a sign that read “REPTILES AND AMPHIBIANS” hanging over it. “You wanted to see crocodiles, right?” He said. They stopped at a glass vivarium with tiny brightly-coloured tree frogs in them, before carrying on to see an anaconda, its fat body trailing along the entirety of its wide exhibit, wrapped around trees and rocks and much of it submerged underwater. He narrowed his eyes at Cassidy as he admired it, “Don’t you even think of saying it looks like me,” he murmured, the sides of his mouth twitching. He nodded over to the very end of the section, where the glass case of the crocodiles and caimans spanned an entire room. “Oh, there they are.”

The Lieutenant snorted at the spooky tone and wiggle of Ade's fingers, and he waved them away, "Which you Earthlings actually believed in until like, last century." He laughed a bit, "And I guess you did too, I mean, mind powers, Ade?"

Cas nodded hungrily for the experience to see actual crocodiles, which were like dinosaurs. He 'oo'ed at the huge boa, and pointed at the little frogs. He was always amazed by new lifeforms. "Life is so amazing..." He whispered, walking around the exhibit. When he caught sight of the crocodiles he grinned, running to the window. One seemed to yawn; it opened its jaw wide and closed it in a snap, and he almost jumped in excitement, "He's huge!"

Ade smirked at his boyfriend’s excitement, avoiding the curious frowns of the adults around them as he bounded towards the glass. He followed him, standing behind him as the glaring heatlamps made him wince a little. After a few minutes, he spotted a small door at the back of the enclosure opening, and a pair of hands appeared, carrying a huge chunk of meat. The crocodiles didn’t move at all until it was thrown into the water, and then a great crashing and gushing of water began as the three in the enclosure began to fight over the meat. They started off viciously tearing at it, before two drew back as the biggest one, the one Cas had pointed out, took a large portion of it and stood his ground, chomping the food between his jaws a few times before swallowing it almost whole. It sunk beneath the water again, leaving a trail of tiny bubbles it blew out of it’s nose, only it’s eyes hovering at the surface.

As it was done, Ade patted Cassidy’s back, “Come on, some others want to see. For once you’re not the shortest one here,” He joked, nodding behind to some little kids that were trying to squeeze through around his legs. He pulled a reluctant Cas back out into the main lobby just as another piece of meat was thrown out, leaving excited gasps of the children behind them. Adrian turned around, looking at the exhibits they had yet to see, a finger poised against his lips pensively. “We can see…the sealions, and the otters…or…there’s penguins…and…of course, we can go to the souvenir shop, if you’re into that kinda thing.” He shrugged, turning back to Cassidy. “Or are you hungry already? There’s a nice seafood restaurant across the street we can grab a bite to eat at. It’s up to you, babe.”

Cassidy stared in awe at the crocodiles, amazed by the show with the meat. He felt badly for the two smaller ones, but the lesson was all too cool for kids, about survival of the fittest in the wild. Dominant traits, he remembered from Biology. And for a crocodile- that was being huge.

He followed Adrian with a grin, looking at the sign, "Do they have... Sharks? And Otters sound cool. What is an otter?" With a grin he hugged Adrian, nuzzling his shoulder, "Earth sea life is amazing, it is cool you guys have this place."

Ade beamed, squeezing him back. "I'm so glad you like it." He smiled back down at him, glad that the distress and anxiety he'd seen earlier that morning had all but melted away. He held his hand as they walked towards the marine mammal exhibit, "Sadly, I think the only sharks they got are the small ones you saw in the manta ray tanks. I guess it would be cruel to keep any of the really big ones in a tank anyway." he said with a shrug.

As they got there, Adrian pointed out the skittish little brown furred creatures, sliding in and out of the water with ease. Some stood on their hind legs and peered at their audience with mischievous, curious eyes, but for the most part they ignored them, preferring to play fight with each other and groom themselves after their feeding time.

Cassidy nodded, "Ah- I've heard of America and all its ridiculous shark movies." He laughed, "Jaws... Sharknado? All priceless shark movies that survived. You can watch almost anything from your time in mine, but we like to make fun of special effects from now. Especially whatever you guys call '3-D' here. Wow that stuff hurts to watch." With a snicker, he followed Adrian to the next room.

Upon laying his eyes on the adorable aquatic mammals, his eyes got wide with awe, and he ran up to the rope, trying to get a better view of the pool as one bobbed about, making squeals and doing barrel rolls under water, "He looks so happy.." He whispered, "And they are adorable." He jokingly cocked an eyebrow, "Let's get an otter, Ade. Make your living room into a pool, and have an otter." With a mischievous grin he copied one of the otters play fight moves, and suddenly grabbed Adrian, dragging him down to his reach and putting him in a gentle choke hold, ruffling his hair so it was messy, before releasing him with a laugh.

Adrian shook his head, folding his arms, "I think we have enough tiny, mischievous mammals in the house, thank you-" he suddenly let out a terrified yelp as he was grabbed, and it took a few moments to realise that his assailant was his boyfriend, as he struggled weakly in his grasp, catching the attention of other nearby visitors to the aquarium. He scowled as Cas finally released him, his face flushing pink from Cas' mocking laugh and dragging his fingers through his hair to bring some kind of order to it. He tried to reach around and grab Cassidy back, but the swift lieutenant slipped through his fingers. He began to chase him with a determined look in his eye, but tripped over his own feet before he got very far, almost sliding into the otter enclosure itself as he circled back. He got up and brushed himself off, swatting Cas in the head before pushing him along. "Come on, you," he said, with a tiny chuckle in his voice as he spoke.

Cassidy snickered, following Adrian towards the next display. They spent an hour or so just running around the aquarium, looking at the amazing Earth creatures in awe. As they were watching a display of a tiny octopus moving across the bottom of a deep tank, Cassidy's stomach roared, and he pressed a hand to it quick in order to silence it. His face turned a bit pink, and he continued to watch the octopus with a grin, "What are these called?" He asked, poking the glass and watching it sink a foot back in caution.

Cas poked Adrian in the stomach, "You said there was a seafood restaurant around here?" He was practically drooling over the idea of seafood- his favorite. It always seemed to be consistent in all areas of life in the universe. It always tasted like fish, or seafood. Not vastly different really in one area or another.

Ade smirked at the sound of Cas’ stomach rumbling, shh-ing him loudly in a teasing manner. He tapped the glass of the tank as well, making a little “tch” sound as the little creature slid back behind a rock. ”Octopuses. They’re a little too weird looking for me.” He murmured, straightening up and walking back out into the main lobby. He nodded towards the exit, “They sell food here, but it’s trashy and expensive. I know you might eat anything put in front of you, but I have some class.” He flicked his head to the side in a mocking flourish as he said it, heading out the double-doors at Cas’ side “There’s a good place I know just around the block from here.”

They walked for only about fifteen minutes, before reaching a discreet little establishment settled on the seafront called “Riddle and Finns”. It was well-decorated and quiet, serving pricier-than-average seafood that was good quality. There was an open-style kitchen at the back where the chefs cooked the dishes, which the diners could see into if they so wished. Ade chose a table that was right near the window, however, allowing them both to see out into the harbour and the sea beyond. He smirked as the served handed a menu to Cas, knowing that he probably wouldn’t have the slightest clue what many of the things were. As she walked off after taking their drinks orders, Ade smiled and leaned over the table, “Hey, I just realised…this is like…our first date, isn't it?”

Eagerly Cassidy followed his love out of the aquarium, admiring the street and harbor-district life as they walked along towards the restaurant. As they got closer to their destination, he could smell the delicate sweet scent of seafood wafting through the salty-tasting air. He knew why the ocean and seafood was his favorite, but this only reinforced his belief that it was the best. Upon entering the tiny restaurant, he looked around the dimly lit room, filled with ship-themed decor, like nets and anchors, and captain's wheels. The Lieutenant enjoyed the comfy atmosphere, and the warmth of the establishment.

He sat down with a wide grin, across from Adrian. He could smell citrus, and scallops, and shrimp, and various fillet types, and it made his stomach growl loud. Slightly embarrassed, Cas scooped up his menu and buried his face in it. Only he realized he didn't know what all the foods were, so he peeked over the edge of the menu, and asked, "Order for me? It's true, I will eat anything. Especially fish. And especially from here." At the 'date' comment, he looked down at the table with a slight grin, pushing his feet under the table towards Adrian's. "Yeah- I suppose you're right.." He snatched Adrian's ankle between his two feet, pushing slightly in a game of 'footsies'. "If you don't count our little adventure, when I kidnapped you, as the first date~"

Adrian thanked the waitress as she arrived with their drinks, but shook his head as she placed a small cider in front of him. “No, no, it’s for him.” He said, nodding at Cas and nudging his imprisoned ankle against the other’s leg. The waitress corrected herself with a confused frown but said nothing, giving Ade a bottle of sparkling water instead. He poured it into a glass and sipped at it as she left to give them a few minutes to decide what to order.

“Hmm. I guess we can count the meal at the space diner as a mini-date.” He smirked, scanning his eyes down the menu, “I’m not sure if it counts if I was kidnapped and forced into it, though.” He heard Cas’ stomach rumble again, and quickly decided on their meals; a sharing platter of various shellfish and lobster for the starter, and Mackerel fillets for Cas’ main course, and Ade having a char-grilled steak. The waitress arrived a moment later, and he gave their order, settling back into his chair and stretching a hand across the table. “So, what did you think of the aquarium? Are Earth’s life forms interesting enough for you?”

Cas gave the waitress a look of criticism, pointing after she left and asking, "Why did she look so surprised? What do I look like? I'm a fully grown adult, even though I am a little short." He crossed his arms, not understanding one bit why that just happened.

With a smirk, Cassidy leaned over the table towards Adrian, "You enjoy bondage though." With a teasing flick of his tongue, he leaned back, tightening his grip on Adrian's ankle. With a snort, he put on his best distasteful face, acting obviously: "This planets lifeforms are... amateur; mediocre... They need to work to be better lifeforms for next time." With a 'hmph, he turned up his nose, and then sipped on his cider.

Ade almost choked on his drink as Cassidy mentioned bondage, flushing red and quickly looking around him. “I do not! – And even- even if I did, that’s probably not the kind of thing you want to announce in a restaurant, dear,” He hissed, smiling weakly at the couple on the table next to them. He tried to break free from the footsie game under the table, but Cas had him in a vicelike grip and he instead ended up smacking his knee against the table leg.

He bit his lip but fought to compose himself as he glanced back over in Cassidy’s direction, sniffing at his comment. “Well, at least only Earth’s aquatic lifeforms are second-rate. It looks like all the lifeforms from Gliese 51-whatever are lacking, especially when it comes to their height …” He sipped his drink in quiet confidence that he’d burned his love at the other side of the table.

Cassidy was snickering at Adrian's response to his comment, enticed to make more comments. With a wink he continued, "Oh, don't be so modest. Last night you were begging me to make you something delicious. And you were flustered all tied up with.. well, you know." Another wink, and he took a sip of his cider- quite pleased with himself. If Adrian really thought about it, he was just referencing the dinner-making and the homeless man, and how shocked Adrian was. But emphasis on certain words was all it took to make a very embarrassing scene.

He mock-pouted at the 'burn', and took a swig of his drink, "At least my people are certainly more... graceful." Remarking about how Adrian had smacked himself on the table, he chuckled, "Yeah- but I guess clumsiness is good for me. Easier to catch you. Made it easier to handcuff you." He said the last sentence louder, and the man from the table near them was craning his neck to listen in now. Cassidy only chuckled in a dark manner, staring at Adrian from across the table.

Adrian was beginning to get flustered at Cassidy’s suggestive comments, once again nearly choking on his drink. “Cassidy, stop…” he whispered, grimacing through his pink-flushed skin. He leaned his head to the side and rubbed his neck, pretending not to hear as Cassidy spoke louder and louder. He suddenly and awkwardly made eye contact with the guy listening, who abruptly turned around and cleared his throat. “He-he’s a time age- he’s a cop, he’s supposed to – handcuff people,” he blurted to his unwelcome audience, wincing and realising how the lameness of his excuse only made it seem like he was covering up the implied meaning.

You’re so embarrassing.” He grumbled as he turned back to meet Cas’ eyes. He twisted an auburn curl between his fingers as the waitress returned, with a large platter of assorted seafood, which she placed on the table between the two. Adrian mumbled his thanks without making eye contact with the waitress, tugging at his ankle underneath the table as he shuffled to sit up.

Cassidy put on a mocking grin, "It's only embarrassing if they know who you are. And even then- that only makes it more fun." Again the people around them perked up, hearing the 'only makes it more fun'. A few of them had been staring after Adrian called Cas a 'he', and realized they had been listening to a 'gay' couple.

The Lieutenant thanked the waitress also, accidentally out of habit in his native tongue. Again people began to shift uncomfortably in their chairs, and a woman with a child suddenly was glaring at him. She was bothered by the fact they were gay, and that Cas had suddenly spoken in some foreign tongue, which complimented his dark skin, eyes and hair.

He didn't take much notice, as he was transfixed on Adrian, "Oh please, babe, forgive me?" He begged, fighting a smile, "I've done worse than this."

Ade teased at Cas' slip of the tongue "We should get round to teaching you English, you know." He took another sip of his drink. “Yeah- right, you have done way worse than this. But this is still bad.” Ade shook his head, slowly taking bites of food from the platter and placing it on his plate. He too fought a smile as he thought of the things they’d been up to over the past few weeks.

“Like the time you took me to that market. You let that guy pull me off the street and – he stuck his hand in my - yeah- that was- that was- pretty bad.” He snorted and began to chuckle as he spoke, realising how weird it must’ve sounded to the people watching. He was referring to a rather bizarre experience that’d happened when he was still Cas’ prisoner – he’d been dragged off by a street performer who had a type of laser that allowed things to pass through it when pointed at things. He’d shoved Adrian in front of it, and then stuck his hand straight through his chest, appearing out the other side and waving at the audience. In the future it was nothing but a cheap, entertaining trick, but it was a little too much for poor Ade and it was only now that he could laugh at his reaction to it.

And that was technically our first time out together,” He smirked, not realising the woman burning into the back of his head with her eyes, “I won’t even start on the time you spit in the Commander’s face.”

Although the woman was ultimately confused about what the two were talking about, her face was burning, and she glared with hatred at the back of Adrian's head. Cassidy didn't notice either, and was paying attention to Adrian, wolfing down his food in approval.

"Mm, a-zaa- this is awesome Ade~" He took another big bite of the fillet, and a sip of cider. He smirked at the comment, shaking his head, "I wouldn't trade that moment for the world..." With a sigh he stared down at the table, and snorted, "Wow- was he angry. And it didn't come out the best for me, but it was a gem of an opportunity."

Suddenly the child of the woman got up, and dashed across the room screeching in joy for no real reason. The toddler ran right towards Cas, and he lifted his eyes to meet the worried woman's as she jumped up to run after her child. He put his arm out, and caught the girl with ease. She was giggling, and he said, 'A-zaa, hey~' to her, laughing too, waiting for the woman to come over with a smile.

She practically stomped over, and snatched her child back. The little girl cooed, "Who is thaat, moommy~?" With another giggle she put her hands on her cheeks, "He looks like Alaaaddin~"

Cas grinned at the pure adorable-ness of the girl. The woman spat angrily, "He's a rag-head, a terrorist, don't ever go near people like him." Cas was extremely confused, and his amusement twisted into a harsh grimace at the insult.

"Wha- How do you know what I do, why'd you call me that? ...Who do you work for?" He was referring to 'terrorist', but he thought she was referring to his agency. Just like they had called him a 'terrorist' on the Iridium ship, as an insult.

The woman suddenly screeched really loudly, and backed away dramatically- purposely making a scene so half the restaurant stared, and she yelled, "Why do you want to know where I work? Are you going to bomb it? Oh my God!" She dashed away, and Cas sat in wide-eyed confusion, looking at the many faces now turned towards their table. With a flicker of his dark eyes, he stared over to Adrian, blinking, and just whispering, "...Whaat?" People were glaring now, and the woman was gathering up her belongings quickly, rushing out of the room like she was afraid.

Adrian felt his chest tighten as the woman suddenly became hostile, trying to diffuse the situation hastily as the eyes of the other people in the restaurant turned in them both "Woah, woah, wait, ma'am, he's just-" but she screeched and snatched her child away before he got a chance to say anything substantial, gathering up her things hurriedly. He lowered his eyes to the table as he gripped Cassidy's hand, murmuring softy, "Just ignore her, babe. She's just...being petty, she thinks you're from a different country, the kind that America is at war with-"

"Look, they're holding hands now, in front of that child..."

"Did she say...bomb...?"

"I wouldn't be surprised, he looks like one of those types..."

"Should they be allowed to do that in public?"

The small restaurant suddenly became quietly abuzz with chatter, and Adrian felt himself flush with embarrassment at the sudden attention they were both getting. He shrunk away meekly towards the window, wishing he could merge right through it and take Cas with him so he didn't have to explain why there was a problem with them both. He nervously licked his lips and shook his head. "Sorry, Cassidy. I should've known something like this was gonna happen. We can leave, if you want."
