Our Wonderful Space RP, Home-Life <3

Cassidy raised his brows quizzically, pursing his lips and then snapping his jaw as he teased, "What, do you have dentures, you 3000 year old geezer?" He scooted to the edge of the bed, and shook his shoulders so he moved back and forth- like a cobra dance. Cas lifted his legs off the bed, wrapping them around Adrian's waist as he stared up at his tall lover. "What's a vacuum?" He asked, before pausing and whispering, "And what's a garbage can?" He honestly had no idea. They had robots that cleared the floors of all homes at night, and incinerators for their garbage.

Adrian frowned. “Well, you technically haven’t been born yet, so I don’t know what you’re teasing about, you -3000 year old embryo.”

He chuckled at Cas’ attempt to hold him there, stroking his legs slightly as he leaned forward. He sighed at Cas’ questions, however, “I’m not surprised you’ve never heard of a vacuum; I saw your room back at Andromeda.” He leaned over and kissed Cassidy goodbye, savouring the pressing together of their lips for a short while. As he did so, he reached behind him and unhooked the legs from around his waist, before pulling away and walking off. He shouted from the kitchen as he gathered up his keys, wallet and jacket. “I’ll teach you how to clean when you get home. Are you still going to that market today?”

Cassidy smirked at his response, and fired back a response, "Why, Doctor, it's so flattering to hear that you think I'm so young~"

Cas leaned into the kiss with his smirk, nuzzling his love's nose and snarling like a wild animal, watching him walk away, "You were in my room?" He mumbled, hopping up and following Adrian to the kitchen, "Eh- yeah it's not that bad." At the question he shrugged, "Yeah, maybe... I still have a headache, and time travel with a.... hangover, does not sound thrilling. But if I do, I promise to bring back something delightful." With Adrian's dislike of alien food, it wouldn't matter what he brought home- he probably wouldn't eat it. So he would bring back the grossest looking food ever. To an Earthling, he supposed. To him, it looked delicious. "I promise to return, also," He paused, smiling, "I mean, if I don't I'm probably dead or dying- just know that."

Adrian grimaced at Cas’ last remark. Please, don’t joke about that. He knew he was mostly kidding, but it still made him uneasy to think that he might return home and find him gone. He imagined himself with a shiver what it would be like, waiting each night for his love to return home from the future, unable to travel there himself to find out what happened.

He bit his lip, and turned to kiss him again, embracing him tightly as he did so. “You be good, alright? By that I mean here and in the future.” He ruffled his messy black tufts, walking out of the door with a weak smile. “And be back by six, okay?”

Cassidy snorted, "I have a curfew?" He only laughed, rolling his eyes, "Yeah- yeah, I guess." With a sigh he waved goodbye to Adrian, leaning against the counter and frowning as the door shut. Time for boredom to ensue.

******************

Cassidy had done plenty by the time Adrian returned. He guessed six o' clock was when he would return, since that's when he told him to be back by. So he waited in the kitchen, displaying his alien goods proudly. He sat on the edge of the counter, opposite the doorway, with a grin- knowing Adrian would be back any moment. He had laying out on the counter plenty of goods. Sauces, a rainbow of colors in glass jars, strange vegetables in a similar color scheme. He had eyes of creatures in jars, and several dented orbs that appeared to be giant snail shells of some sort laying about. He had new clothes- an orange shirt with the alien script scrawled across it, and some tan cargoes now. He had all sorts of new things, an endless list of displayed goods, a more casual look, and a new proud grin on his face. As soon as Adrian entered he gave him the first reason: "I used your news box today, and watched Earth news, Ade."

Having learned his lesson, the first thing he did when he walked through the door was look at his mischief-making lover, clad with a goofy grin with his amassed goods on the countertop. Ade was not impressed.

Oh good god, Cas. What the- Where the hell am I going to put all that?” He stalked over to the kitchen area, plopping his own bags of groceries down and examining the weird foods from a distance. “Are those- are those eyeballs?” He groaned, looking at Cas with a disappointed frown. He picked up a jar of orange-coloured liquid, tipping it this way and that, peering at it in the light. “What is this stuff? Ugh.” He stood and started loading fridge with his own groceries, mentally noting that Cas needed a fridge of his own if he was going to start buying that stuff.

Cassidy frowned at his partner's disapproval, "It's... food. That I know how to cook with." The Lieutenant just stared at Adrian, irritated slightly with his attitude towards his contribution towards the household, "And you only need to refrigerate the Shalle and the Kaapers... I'm not an idiot. I know you guys have primitive cooling machines."

Cas pushed himself off the counter, walking away from Adrian, and going into the living room. He plopped himself down on the couch and yelled, "Something in this house made a really loud 'briing briing' for a few minutes maybe an hour ago! And then some voice addressed you. Said they wanted you to call them back for plans!"

He picked out a beer from the fridge and cracked it open. Adrian sighed, leaving the food on the countertop as he didn’t even want to guess what Shalle and Kapers were. “Well, keep it separate from the human food. I’ll be upset if my carrots start tasting like that alien rubbish.”

He walked to the lounge, picking up the house phone before plopping himself down on the couch beside Cas, who seemed to be watching the news intently. He stretched out on the black leather sofa, putting his beer on the floor wrapping an arm lazily around Cas’ shoulder before dialling the last number called on the phone. Instantly popped up a number he didn’t recognise. Oh god, it’d better not be Jen.

He was relieved when the dial tone stopped and he heard a brutish Scot voice on the other end. “Oh, Gus. It’s you…Yeah, well…I was at work, you know? Not sitting around the house doing noth- alright. You coming up for the weekend? Mmm. I’m busy tomorrow. I don’t have another day off for like…a week and a half after that. No, I said I’m busy tomorrow.” His irritation was evident by the grimace on his face, and he sighed onto the phone as Gus began to guilt-trip him about not seeing his older brother more often. He flicked his eyes towards Cas, and grunted down the phone, “Alright, alright, hang on a sec.” He turned to Cas, pressing the phone against his chest so Gus wouldn’t hear. “Do you mind if my brother visits tomorrow night? Just for dinner, we’ll still go out during the day.”

The Lieutenant gave Adrian an irritated glance from the corner of his eye, diverting his attention from the news momentarily, "No, don't mind." He murmured, immediately snapping his attention back to the screen. He listened to the conversation, the phone was quite loud, and chuckled quietly. His brother- the one that pulled that great prank on him at the airport.

Through the phone he could hear a heavy accent, and his face muddled in confusion, "Why does he have an accent like that, and yours is hardly noticeable?" He inquired, wondering what the difference between them was.

Ade sniffed, holding the phone to his ear again. “Alright, yeah, I can do tomorrow night.” He suddenly groaned into the phone. “Do you have to? Yeah I know they’re on vacation ‘til Sunday…aren’t there any hotels or anything you can…?...Nono, go on then. But I swear to god if you switch my coffee with dirt again…” The phone conversation was finished a few minutes later, and it was sorted that Gus was going to come for dinner, and then stay the night as well. Great, Ade thought, shaking his head, now he can meet by alien boyfriend.

Ade yawned loudly, taking a sip of his beer. “He’s six years older than me, and he grew up in a different part of Scotland for a while before I was born, so he got the brunt of the hideous Glaswegian accent.” He chuckled to himself, cuddling up to Cas as they both watched the TV intently. “Don’t worry if you can’t understand it, he never has anything good to say anyway.”

Cassidy smirked, "Why do you look so solemn?" He paused, "I am looking forward to meeting the master prankster." He knew why Adrian seemed apprehensive of the visit- they'd have to meet his alien boyfriend. He snickered loudly on purple, hoping Gus would hear it. After he hung up he looked at Adrian with a cheeky grin, "You upset they're gonna have to meet me?"

Cas snorted, "Hideous? I like Scottish accents." He poked Adrian in the ribs, "I'm going to enjoy this meeting. Pranking masters, here. Remember when you thought I had mind powers?" He made a buzzing noise as he put his hands to his temples, giggling, "Gold. Pure gold... So, what're we doing tonight?"

Ade grimaced as he remembered the prank, and what an idiot he’d felt after he’d been told it was a lie, and a terrible one at that. He flicked Cas in the head. “Enough of that, you.”

He sat up to face Cas, sipping his beer again. “Well, I was thinking, for tonight, I could show you how to cook something from Earth. Something simple. That way you can make food when I’m not here, instead of having to buy…alien stuff.” He grabbed the remote and switched off the TV, tapping Cas on the shoulder as he got up and walked to the kitchen. “You shouldn’t watch that for too long, it’ll rot your brain. I’m sure none of it’s news to you, anyway.” He chuckled, "Come on, little chef."

The Lieutenant shouted 'hey!' at the flick, and growled in amusement, "Please- you laughed about that. And what's wrong with my groceries- all you are is picky. And plus, if you grow accustomed to it, I could buy half the groceries and save you a major bill. I mean, I ate the food last night with no complaints, and actually liked it, but you are sworn to hating my food- and yet, Earth food is just as strange and foreign in all manners that my time's food is to you."

Cas looked back at the TV as it flashed off, and he smirked, "It's good Earth history review." He pointed at the TV, looking quite proud, and said, "They spoke about the Mars colony, and people are criticizing it... And you know what- we make it. In my time, that's a huge milestone, it's like the moon landing in the nineteen-sixties." He hopped up, following Adrian to the kitchen, "First colony on Mars! I hear that's the Red Planet, the one they think my kind is from. Martiaaans~~" He made a scary, 'Ooo~' and laughed, "Naw, the glacier lake that supported the lifeforms there can't do that anymore. You guys had neighbors about 40 million years ago. But not now!"

Ade shrugged as they reached the kitchen. “Yeah – but I’m not living in space anymore, I don’t need to learn to like alien food. Whereas you – you’re living here for a long time, you kinda have to get used to it.” He looked at the alien ingredients, still stacked up on the countertop, most of which looked disgusting. He had an idea as he started pulling pots and pans out of the cupboard.

“I know, I’ll teach you how to use the oven, and then you cook one alien dish for me, and I’ll cook an Earth dish for you. Then we try each others. If we don’t like it, we can always eat our own food. Sound good?” He pulled another beer out the fridge, holding another bottle of cider out for Cas. “You want one?”

Cas frowned at his attitude towards alien food, but agreed, "Okay- and know this time it's my very own cooking, and not a machine's." He was implying he could be offended if Adrian spat out his food in disgust this time, and he eyed him, "And I know I'll eat whatever you give me."

The cider looked great, but with a grimace remembered his headache from the morning. "Um.." He took it, staring at the amber liquid in longing for the sweet apple flavor. He had no idea what an apple was, but he loved the taste of cider, "How much is enough to give me a headache? You didn't have a headache..."

Ade chuckled, cracking open both bottles. "You won't really know until you experiment a little. But I know one won't hurt." He slid the cider over to Cas, and took sips from his own, trying to work out what to cook for his lover. "I've been drinking for a while now, so I know I can have three beers and wake up fine. Plus I'm taller than you, so I can drink more without getting drunk."

He began pulling out ingredients from the fridge; ground beef, onions, bread, tomatoes... And lined them up on the counter. He smirked, turning around to Cassidy, "So, what're you making for me, maestro...?"

Cassidy pouted, "You're just a giant." He made a 'hmph' sound, and turned his attention to his meal-making. He looked over the ingredients, and the tools he had to work with, and decided he would take one of the refrigerated items would be the best to work with. A kaaper. He grinned, pulling out the large snail-like wet shell. He placed it on the counter, examining it with a grin. He took various vegetables and the shalle, a orange- pink meat that was thinly sliced, out from the fridge also. It looked like thick slices of salmon, or ginger on sushi.

The Lieutenant began humming to himself, soon singing a soothing slow song in Kersh, with a catchy beat. Staccato articulations ended some measures, and his head bounced to a beat he was tapping with his foot as he worked. "I'm making you a kaaper~" With a grin he pulled open a flap on the bottom of the slimy shell. He located a knife, and chopped up a block of cheese very quickly, in fine slices. He began lining the inside with the mozzarella, and then scattered the thin slices of meat on top. He looked around for an appealing looking vegetable, and found a shroom-like vegetable. He diced it up in long slices, scattering that inside too. With a pause in his low singing, he turned about, searching for a spice rack. He quickly located that too, and pulled garlic off the wooden display, "I know what garlic is. That survived." He sprinkled it inside with a smile, "Okay- do you have a pan so I can bake this?" He asked as he flattened the slimy kaaper, appearing proud of his work.

Adrian busily made burger patties with his hands, a pleasant smile on his face as he heard Cassidy hum behind him. He turned to see how Cas was doing, and had to hold back a groan as he saw the slimy shell-like thing Cassidy was cooking with. He quickly washed the raw meat off his hands and pulled out a baking tray from the oven. He pointed to it the dials on the front of the oven as he continued to make his food.

"You twist the dial on the left depending how hot you want the oven. It goes up to about 480 fahrenheit, or 250 degrees." He said, not sure what aliens measured temperature in. At the same time, Ade took out a frying pan and put some oil in, leaving it to heat up for a few minutes before dropping two thick meat patties in. "You're getting a burger, ever heard of those?" he said, flipping them over with a spatula.

Cas loaded the kaaper into the pan provided, and then the oven. He turned it up to 400 degrees, knowing he needed the heat pretty high to get the desired result.

He grabbed his cider and began sipping on it slowly as he watched Adrian prepare the pink slimy meat, "You are making a patty? Out of what- I get fish patties all the time, but not bright pink ones. What animal is that from?" Cas stood behind Adrian to watch him work, his muscular backside could be seen through his shirt, and his decently muscular arms rippled through the scrubs when he was making the patties. He stood there, humming and staring, enjoying his view as he sipped the cider.

"Uhh... It's beef. The same stuff I had on those noodles at that diner, I think. I know you prefer fish, but I figured we should change it up a bit."

He smirked as he caught Cas' eyes trailing over his shoulders as he cooked. "Not bad for a civilian, eh? Isn't that what you said?" he grinned, fetching two plates and sliding a burger patty on each. "How long is yours gonna take to cook? Mine are pretty much done already." He put the plates on the countertop, smiling at the pleasant meaty scent they gave off. He reached into the cupboard and pulled out a bag of bread rolls, and brought over a plate with sliced tomato, lettuce and pickles on it. "Did you want buns with yours? You can eat them as they are, but most people like to add salad and sauces and stuff. Up to you."

Cassidy snorted, "Cooking and civilians have no correlation, Ade." He said matter-of-factly, "But I'll tell you what is 'not bad' for a civilian...." He murmured the words, watching Adrian from behind with a grin. When Cas was asked about buns he began chuckling, and nodding his head with an amused and suggestive expressive to Adrian's turned back, "Of course I do- but only if I can make them toasty." With a snicker he lifted himself up onto the corner, sitting on the edge and watching his love work. "And give me everything you've got too."

Ade smirked, "Right. Two toasty buns, coming up, dear." He took Cas' patty and stuck it between two burger buns. He put cheese, tomato, lettuce and onions on top, and then drizzled chilli sauce on top. He slid it over to Cas again, steaming hot on a plate. "Tell me what you think." He said, through a tight-lipped smile. He grabbed another beer and started sipping it in between mouthfuls of his own. " I can't wait to try yours to see how it compares. " He mumbled as he looked into Cassidy's eyes, confident that that burger would be waaay better than the alien food steaming from the oven.

Cassidy stared back at him with a snort, and lowered his eyes to the burger, "Don't be so pretentious." He grabbed the burger, "Like I said, I'll eat anything." Taking a bite he whined, the juices spilling out and all over his face. He covered his mouth, waving for a napkin or relief from the very hot contents in his mouth, "Mm-" He forced himself to swallow, wiping condiments and onion juices and grease from his lips with his arm. "Oiii..." (Translation: Owww...) He hissed, frowning.

He cautiously blew on the burger and took another bite, smaller this time, and chewed slowly. Afterwards he smiled, "Yeah, it's good. I like whatever these are.." He uncovered the patty and pulled off an onion with a grin, shoving eating it by its lonesome with a smile, "What are those?"

Adrian smiled in smug satisfaction. "Yeah, but it is great, isn't it? Even for my cooking you have to admit it tastes better than alien food." He grabbed a piece of kitchen towel and pushed it towards Cassidy's plate to save the countertop from his messy eating. "That's onion." He remarked, picking at his own food.

He polished off his own burger in a few mouthfuls and wandered over to the oven and peeked inside. "It smells like it's burning," he muttered, "Do you want me to take it out?"

Cassidy glared at his remark, "It's not burning. You're just a critic." He stood up, waltzing over to the oven and peaking in, "It's fine- the outside of a Kaaper is wet when it's uncooked, but it turns into a crust, like the wide end of that pizza you gave me. The bread end you hold it with." He had no idea the crust on pizza was literally referred to as the crust.

He took the dish out, and placed in on top of the oven. Taking Adrian's plate he placed it on it, and cut it into two big pieces. It was brown and flat now, and cheese oozed out when cut, revealing meats and vegetables tangled in the gooey mess of mozzarella. With a smug snort he placed it on the counter, pacing around to the other side of the island to watch Adrian eat it.
