Natural Flavour
Ah yes, pain
Name: Flora Satzuki
Nickname: Flori, but no one's ever been close enough to call her that but her parents.
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 95lbs
Personality: Flora is an naive plant nerd who is very introverted and has a touch of social anxiety. She couldn't be manipulative of she tried. Due to other kids in the orphanage messing with her because she was different, Flora doesn't trust people easily, but if you prove to her that you won't hurt her, this little plant girl will open up and be the sweetest, most loyal friend you could ask for.
History: Flora is the only child of minor pro heroes Mighty Oak and Flower Crown. The two heroes fell in love, and their favorite thing was fighting crime together. When Flora was born, Flower Crown stepped out of the limelight to raise her daughter, and Mighty Oak moved to a different city to prevent any danger from coming to his wife and newborn child, but visited when he could. When Flora was 3, her quirk manifested and Flower Crown called Mighty Oak to visited. That was the best day of Flora's life. She was surrounded by her parents who loved her and were delighted in her new quirk, a reverse hybrid of theirs.
That day, Mighty Oak told Flower Crown about a dangerous mission he had been recruited to. That night, Flower Crown listened to the radio anxiously waiting for news of the mission. When she heard about an explosion and city wide fire, she was horrified. Fire was both of the parents' worst enemy. Fire could easily and quickly destroy a plant-type hero and leave them helpless. Making an impossible choice between husband and child, Flower Crown left toddler Flora in the apartment and rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, neither hero lived. The next day, their singed bodies were found together, holding eachother close. Mighty Oak's colleagues rushed to Flower Crown's apartment and found Flora there, safe, although frightened and alone. They transported her to a Tokyo orphanage where she's been ever since. As Flora grew and learned of her parents' brutal deaths, she spent all her time alone in the attic, growing plants in the scattered beams of sunlight. She refused to talk to any potential adopters, and eventually the social workers gave up and left her to her own devices.
Flora, now 15, blames herself for her parents' deaths. If her quirk hadn't manifested, her mother wouldn'tve known of her father's dangerous mission and Flora would atleast still have a mom. If she hadn't been born at all, her parents' would still be fighting crime together happily, just like in the videos of them that Flora watches at night when she can't sleep. Flora has every video of them memorized, and she flies wildly between being suicidal and wanting to become the best hero she can be to avenge their deaths and right the wrongdoing of her being born and ruining everything. That's why she applied to U.A.
Role: Student
Quirk: Living Soil/Tele-tree-nesis
- Flora can grow plants out of her body using the nutrients in her blood, and seeds that she must plant in skin (these are absorbed as the body recognizes them). Then they break through the skin and Flora can grow them at will, but they must be currently in her system for her to grow them (planted within the last 12 hours, and a limited number of seeds). It is extremely painful and growing more than a few small sprouts at a time can be agonizing. Flora had a very low pain threshold, which doesn't help this. If a plant is ripped out of her before she releases the roots, she could bleed out and die. Flora always carries styptic powder in her seed pouch for this reason, but that can only help minor wounds. Due to the plants using nutrients from her blood, Flora suffers from folate deficiency anemia. She's pale and often quite tired and feels weak. If she grows and excessive amount of plants or doesn't take proper suppliments, she can grow faint and confused. She also craves salad to the point that it scares people.
- The easier part of Flora's quirk, Flora can control the roots of trees and bushes in a 50ft radius. Only plants with bark can be controlled, and it takes decent concentration. Flora's particular favorite move idea is to stab sharp tree roots out of the ground at her enemy. Because it's not connected to her, it doesn't wear her out, but if there's no trees in the area, she's without the strongest part of her quirk.
Costume: WIP, but something with bare or removable arms and legs and feet so that she can grow her plants easily. There is a pouch (currently a shoulder bag) full of common seeds she thinks would be useful in battle and styptic powder, as well as multivitamin supplements.
