better idea we go in, kill everyone, get out, blow it up
Why blow it up if we've killed everyone? If we want to blow it up, better to infiltrate, rig something up to explode the engines, then get out with minimal combat.

Why we need to go in if we intent to blow it up? Just nuke the thing with main weapons
Oh, if we have weapons that powerful then sure. I was assuming our ship didn't have weapons powerful enough for that.

I think it’s said that we got MAC and photon torpedoes
Oh daaaamn aight.
Well, first thing we should do in the RP is look into our quarry: what kind of weapons has their cruiser got, what kind of shields, what kind of speed. What races are we dealing with, what kind of ship manoeuvres can we expect, and can we analyse their previous engagements and learn how to avoid their fire, or make sure certain areas of our ship are reinforced? If there's data on all that stuff, Del would be more than happy to run some tests (although analysis is usually Science work, so maybe Snout will get dragged in for that).

If we want it in intact, there are still ways of doing damage that can be repaired later. It really depends on whether we find any sweet spots on the cruiser to hit which might disable it for a while. Plus, if the cruiser has shields it's unlikely we'll be able to board without taking out some of their armour first (in Star Trek at least, shields interfere with beaming, so you're not going to want to try when that's active. Not sure what's in this RP/universe but it'd be pretty silly if most ships didn't have an anti-beam mechanism).

Sarah: *Tries to sneak out to help*

Ray: Where ya going, mack?
Sigrun: Remain seated, Pilot.

Sarah: :l

Currently I'm a bit RP locked though
I reckon what we need is maybe a briefing for all the characters interested in each job (or, just the spirate job if we'll tackle them one-by-one) and we can maybe make a plan. In previous RPs with a much smaller group, I've done scenes like that as collaborations, so that characters can converse easier, rather than just having an entire post for one line of dialogue, for example. I'm not sure that's possible here though due to the numbers, so I'm not sure how a briefing would realistically go. RandomBlobMan RandomBlobMan might have some methods though, since I believe they have done RPs with bigger numbers before (based on what I read in the interest check).

Wonder if we'll get any extreme situations where the pilot has to go and help... 👀 Otherwise, hopefully we can make sure there are things for ship-based crew to do during a mission. Scanning, beaming, getting locks on certain locations, sending and receiving information, stuff like that?

Sounds like a full scale attack and a heavy damaged ship! We must out of options on that scenario.

yeah I think we need a way for characters to converse without me having to write an entire paragraph to ask one quesition

He will once we are on the way.

Yes. I agree. But he may have a way to resolve this without firing a shot. It would be pretty epic, but we need to get there first for him to try it
My man, there are 5 rude dudes with attitudes on that cruisa. Go for some tactical 5v5 and rush sector B and set the bomb! Tick tick boom! Essex crew wins!
