i am honestly not sure i didn't bring her up

ironically it is looking like Azani won't name Ame
I kinda figured at this point. It seems more like Kuro is her regalia.
but I won’t say that aloud lest I hurt the great birds pride.

“Haha, I heard from Fuujin that you finally got yourself another Regalia!”

Nagi nodded, repressing the urge to sigh as the god next to him laughed. He knew his fellow wind god liked to talk, and that Fujin generally had a friendly relationship with others gods, but the one beside him was the last one he wanted he wanted to know about Kaname. Ryuujin—also known as Owatasumi. The Dragon God.

d7da8a9ad966754d6e0324f5fce50692.jpg

The tutelary diety of the sea. A god as old as Fujin, if not older, whose volatile temper matched his legend and rank. It was really no surprise that such a god would be invited. Though ending in the same table as him was a stroke of luck that Nagi did not want.

“Hopefully this one’s more durable than your previous ones.” Ryuujin slurred merrily as he slung an arm over Nagi’s shoulder, a cup of sake in hand. “It’s no fun when they shatter too easily.”

The Travel God’s hands clenched on his lap. There had been no ill-intent in the words. Ryuujin was drunk. Reminding himself of that kept Nagi from doing something he knew he would later regret.
“You had put up a pretty good fight though. I was impressed! It was more than what I’d expected from a god who’s claim to fame came from a love story.”

More laughter.

“Love brings out the best of us,” Nagi replied benignly. “More importantly, I think you’ve had quite enough to drink, Lord Ryuujin.”

“Awww, why? It’s a party, ain’t it? All the tension’s only gonna kill the mood. Seriously. It pisses me off.”
Ryuujin suddenly pulled him closer, whispering in his ear. The serious tone made Nagi realize that Ryuujin might not be drunk after all. “See that regalia there? She’s a Nora. She can try to hide it, but it’s obvious to any god with eyes.”

Nagi blinked. “Isn’t that…?”

“Yeah,”
Ryuujin continued to speak softly. “Amaterasu’s runaway. Why don’t you try to flirt with her? I betcha’ she’d make a powerful divine instrument. More so than your current ones.”

Nagi frowned. He was glad none of his regalias were around to hear this. Tatsume was going over dance steps with Hiname in the garden. Kaname…well…he wasn’t sure where Kaname went. The snack bar probably. “I don’t need a more powerful divine instrument. Besides, I can’t imagine why she’d agree...”

Ryuujin rolled his eyes. “You’re a god. She doesn’t have to agree.”

“That’s...a little rude.”
That was putting it nicely. It was completely unfair to the regalia in question.

“Haha, she’s a Nora. She wouldn’t mind. It’d just be a new notch under her belt.” The disgust in his tone was evident.

Nagi shook his head. “It’d be rude to the god she is with as well.”

“Think of it as a game to lighten the atmosphere. If you or the other god really can’t stand it, just release her afterwards. It’s no big deal.”

This time, Nagi didn’t bother to hold back his sigh. “You won’t leave me alone until I do this will you?”

Ryuujin’s grin was shark-like. Dragon-like, really... and his golden eyes glowed. “No.”

Ducking free from Ruujin’s grasp, Nagi plucked a glass of champagne from one of the servers with the lightness of a wind spirit. “Fine. But I’m doing it my way.”

This was why he didn’t much like returning to the Heavenly Plain. Politics. Hurtful games. Discrimination. Ryuujin was a god know for his temper which, if not quelled, tended to turn seas and capsize ships. Innocent lives of travelers would be lost—whether they worshipped him or not. Nagi would rather play Ryuujin's game than start a fight like last time.

His regalias must have it tough.

He loosened his tie which had grown rather uncomfortable. No. Not just his tie. The entire outfit was plain uncomfortable—courtesy of Tatsume who insisted he look his best for such an important gathering of gods. Hopefully his regalias were enjoying themselves more than he was. The last few weeks had been spent practicing with Kaname, doing his duties as a Travel God (which Tatsume doubled to make up for all the money he had spent), deciding on a wedding present, and figuring out how to apologize to Hasuna. He'd sent a letter, of course. However, he had a feeling that meeting her (and her regalias) would still be a little...awkward...given how the last meeting turned out.

Not that what I'm about to do will be any less awkward.

He could hear the wind spirits giggling.

^lol, Ryotaro can defend him all he likes, but Ryuujin's a bit of a bully

Anyway, I'll start working on the post after work today.

Ryo can also be a bully when he wants to, so that's fine. He's mostly just been joking instead of actually defending the dragon man.

lol, I see~ Well it's a fun scene to see if Ryo ever finds Nagi/Ryuujin's prints ^_^

Rika takes everything seriously.

There's plenty of them at the school and hotel, so he could've seen this one already. Or it can wait for another time if you prefer.

The two of them really are opposites. Ryo rarely has moments when he's not messing around, even if he's actually putting in effort. The most genuine he's been so far was when he was running into the school. He'll get serious in situations that call for it, but he's almost always injecting some of his playful personality into what he does.

Ooohhh Nana about to send some of us on a secret mission ^33^ that could be fun.

*shrug* Up to you. It's just a funny scene with no real relevance to plot except for connections between Nagi and Ryuujin.

Haha, yep I noticed^^ I foresee many fun times ahead for the pair.

It might be useful if he ever decides to look for Nagi. At the very least, he got to experience what it was like to be a drunk god.

Most of the fun will probably have to wait until they survive the jelly business. Maybe he can help her find her missing friend, assuming she's still alive. The goddess of businesses won't answer his prayers, so he might get along with a goddess who's all about dance and amusement.

Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

Goddess of Business has too many prayers to answer to pay attention to a guy that can't even a offer a torii for her shrine =P But yes, Uzume is a good friend and super fun^^
