Okay guys, I have a question for ya.


If you're playing an orphan, that is. (sorry Sean. xD )


I need you guys to come up with some ideas for an ability/power for your character. You can come up with one ability that relates to your char.


Or, you can leave it to me and King to decide for you. We already have ideas for all of you. Terra and Vi have allowed us to pick for them. :3

Hey guys! Now, I know Cloudy said that you all can decide on your own powers...


But she also said that we already have some ideas in the works.


Now if you want a devious surprise that is worthy of the KingCloudyBlueHink seal of creativity and wonder, I might suggest placing your faith in us. We have some good ideas in mind that we are tailoring to play styles and character soul, whether the purpose of encouraging character development. Now I can't garuntee your characters may be happy with it (( )) but I do believe you as the player will.


That being said, if you think you want to come up with your own powers, that is fine too. No one knows your characters better than you, after all. As for something to think about if you go this route, I haven't yet discussed the limits entirely with Cloudy, or my power of say I'm the matter xD , but I am a known nit picker. These powers, symbolically, could be said to be the definition of your characters soul. So do take time to think in the matter rather than going with then first cool idea that pops into your head, however awesome it might be. Like rocket powered dragon chainsaws.


@Folkus @Federoff @Kal @XDBuggyBatXD @ViAdvena @TerraBooma (@Seanzah Angel just so you don't feel neglected even though this applies to orphans. Your guy is basically The Thing. Thats power enough xD )

I love the wildcard-ness of that idea. I was actually under the impression the orphans' powers would get chosen for them, if they got any, which I thought would perhaps be a thing due to the dream crystals. But I'm rambling! I'm basically saying, yes! Cloudy and King, I'd love to see what you'd come up with for Joey ( and Spencer and Elva and whoever else decides the wildcard route~ )

I would assume you are thinking of possible shapeshifting into a wolf. Which isn't the idea or even close. Though if my assumption is incorrect, lol I still doubt we are thinking the same thing.

Anywho! For these powers, we are looking deeper than JUST the character. And we are also finding powers that can grow and help the char do the same, rather than powers that are just for the sake of being powers and don't effectively make narrative difference other than adding an enemy defeating ability.


I'm(We're) putting a lot of thought into these xD

*flops on you* No, no, no. This is not allowed. Everyone is special. You should believe in that, and that's what you should have the most faith in. Yourself. Me n' King quite literally stayed up until like, midnight my time, just speculating for Yori. We have such cool ideas for her. I love her. This should make you feel special! Of course, if you really want to go your own way we understand. c: We did give you that option. It's your character.

Special is as special does.


I am sure glad cloudy is here to give that speech xD .


It is my belief that special isn't a state of being. I like to think of it as experience, one that can be either shared or personal. I think that as a state of being 'special' you are subject to the limits of subjectivity and 'uniqueness'. In a country such as america, where uniqueness and special is so hyped, everyone tries so hard to be so different and unique and special. You get the hipster movement. A bunch of people trying to be different but all end up being the same. People going out of there way to be different just form the sake of difference and special. This takes away from the impact of 'special'. Compare this to rp, where people like making their characters with white hair or two different colored eyes or overly traumatic backstories(sorry guys just two of the easiest examples) or try so hard to make characters different that they fall into the same trap. Everyone has seen, I am sure, examples of these many times in your RP careers. Many common traits of RP characters are 'special'... if compared to normal people. But with so many people adopting these traits, compared to other RP char, you will see they don't really stand out amongst all the others because everyone steers towards the same attributes. Those traits cease being special. They end up not standing out at all. Lol I am guilty of this too. So I'm not preaching xD fun traits are fun. But being special is not the focus of anything I do. It isn't even a worry of mine.


Is this always the case? No. But do you know what is always unique and special and can't be copied or cloned? The individual.


For example, in my opinion, a normal person stands out among RP characters amidst such a vast army of specials. But so many people think that being normal is bad. They must be special. Must be unique. They completely ignore what special actually is. With a 'normal' character, there isn't any obvious traits distracting from the characters individual traits. More importantly is the experience. Think of it like this... is it more special for a knight to slay a dragon easily? Or someone who had no other business doing and struggled hard to do the same goal?


Now I just realized I am ranting so will stop here.


But, special doesn't matter. I don't care if you feel it or don't feel it. Special goes deeper than that. Don't define yourself by such a label, you will only find trouble and depression. Fun matters in this world of imagination. Are you having fun? Yes? Great! Do people have fun with you? Yes? Great! Do you like multi colored eyes and white hair and trauma? Yes? Great! "Special'is a crude and vague term that doesn't do well in describing things.


Oh... and cloudy... : 3 if everyone is special, then technically speaking special is normal. Making everybody normal and not special.... just saying.
