Finally got the intro post out. Forgive the lack of refinement. I have barely posted anything in the past week or so, I have just been so busy with project after project at work. But this post right here should have me all caught up on my postings. On top of being a little rusty and lack of momentum, she is a new character. So give me a few posts to break her in and I will get better with her. Lol and atop even that, solo posting(excluding exposition) is a weakness of mine.
Hopefully she will help move things forward again in RP, since I don't have Rudy to do that anymore.
Hey everybody! Your friendly neighborhood co-GM is requesting a sound off to see who we got that is still alive out there in attempt to jump start OOC communication again! I know me and the big cheese have been a little busy as of late, and I am sure that she wouldn't mind that if any one able to post could go ahead and do so. I got ways to keep things going
So a few things to start it off, how is everybody! It has been pretty quiet as of late, so what have you all been up to? Also, I have been curious, does anybody here have any thoughts or goals for their characters? It doesn't have to be anything that can actually happen. Even what if's are cool! It would give me a great ideas on how I can help add things to the game that you all might enjoy! Even just saying the kind of scenarios and mood genres you like would be a big boon in what I can offer ^.^
As for me, I have been pretty busy with work the past two weeks. Been painting non stop it seems. Got a picky big wig coming to visit my job and my crew has been running around crazy trying to fix the place up. To answer Buggy's question. I work as an Engineer at a Hilton Hotel. We are in charge of keeping the place from falling apart. Plumbing, painting, electrical, building, mechanical repair, preventive maintenence, all that fun stuff and more. On top of that I am a father of two and a husband. Lol the work never ends.
As for plans for Nix, well... I can't tell. It would give away spoilers :3 But I am hoping she becomes loved by everyone, and maybe find love.
As for the genres and stuff I like, I can tell! I love playing mind games and I love twisty plots. I can and have enjoyed playing just about any sort of scenario. From dark and questionable to happy and light, though the former two are what I most often lean to. Characters and how they all interact is perhaps what I like to see play out most. Even such as the relationships between alll of your characters, or the factions within like the dream people and the orphans and how they interact with each other. Another of what I like in RP is playing on emotions and immersion. I am a pretty open guy when it comes to RP, and am always happy to collab and plot and scheme with anyone who is interested. I also try not to shy away from things I haven't tried before and willing to play almost any role at least once. This has lead me to been involved with some.... 'interesting'... things over the years. But I feel the more I experience, and the more varied sorts of play I come across, the better I will be able to deliver and the more tools I have to work with. However, I have never been a huge fan of the Slice of Life style games. I have tried them before and I just can't seem to get my head in the game to make a good player for it. For one, I was pretty hermitized through life, and secondly I am too old to remember too much about being a teenager (which many SoL normally consist of) that and when I come to RP, my mind is generally geared to wanting to explore the unreal. Though i may not be good at it, I can't diss it. As I have seen many a SoL tale that are quite good and would have been fun if I could just get my head in it.
Oh, and I have a tendency to rant and ramble.
That is just a little about me, how about you all?
Goals for our chars, eh? The main goal I had for her was for her to get back home. Like, you know, her home home, not the orphanage. But that's a suuuuper long term goal, I guess I never thought about things like what I wanted her to develop. @w@ Maybe she can get attached to a mum figure! I dunno, she's 10, I spend most of my time trying to make sure she says and does 10-year-old like actions!
But good thing to bring up! I shall keep it in mind owO
Mood genres? Like, "Oh, I like sunny, bubbly scenes!" or "I only play in the darkest, daaankest RPs!" and such? I like fun, silly, stupid scenarios, and RPs that allow characters to do that :3 But I also need dramatic and heavy moments too. I dunno, it depends on the character I'm playing.
It sounds like it's getting pretty crazy at the Hotel! Good luck! I hope it all goes fabulously~
As for Yoris' goals? I think we all know what her goals are :3
I've had winter drum line for all of spring break, had 3 competitions, our first competition we one 2nd, our second and third competition we won 1st twice. School started back up monday and its stinks as i got a stupid senior project to work on :/
More genres? I like them all as long as its not advanced technology wise.
Big cheese has been very busy. Big cheese apologizes for inactivity and hopes to be able to write a post as soon as she gets back, since big cheese has to have x70 tabs open when she writes posts for OBH and her tiny laptop cannot handle it. Big cheese will now stop talking in third person.
HIIIII guys ;n; I'm so sorry i haven't been able to post, really I am. I still love this roleplay with all o' my heart but this trip hasn't left me too much time for anything really. My dad's side has literally been taking me EVERYWHERE, I slept in a different house every night. It was pretty hectic. Now I am at my mom's side, and it should be more chill but I will work on my post, not be able to post it but work on it.
Goals /o/ I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about this because my goals are like the whole roleplay EHEHEH but.. I have a lot of characters, and they've all got different ideas of how everything works and it's really fun. I've never played this many characters but I'm enjoying it a ton. Even the NPC's. I like, really, really love Nago, and Seyana, and Etrem. And for the short period that he existed Fetro was sorta cute, eheheh, remember him? And Mimi. And come on we all love Miss Rally 8D Who doesn't love her. //shot
Aria is honestly too confused right now to have goals. Everything is her fault, this she knows, and she just wants to hide from everything, to have it be over, everything to return to normal. I guess that's her goal, maybe, but it's not a goal, more like a dream too her. I was very very homesick the first week of my trip (on second and final week currently) and I've never been away from home this long, especially by myself. It really felt like a bad dream I would never get out of. I'm actually pretty excited to use that experience for Aria now. I'm better now, eheh, don't worry 'bout me. c:
It's too early for me to talk about Colton's goals. Probably find a girl, make out and such. Typical teenage boy junk. The idiot can't even see there's a girl who likes him smack in front of him but it is SO freakin fun to RP I can't even tell you.
Aku and Ingu are really really close, and even though they put each other first, they're loyal to Seyana like puppies. Without each other they are nothing, it's like twins, one without the other ain't the same. Now that Ingu is hurt, Aku is going to get really frantic. Antsy, nervous. Ingu has always been that loving and kind big sister type and her only goal ever was to protect them both, but now she's going to find that hard. I'm definitely ruffling everyone's feathers, ey? I guess this isn't really goals, but it's stuff. c: Hope I ain't boring you to death.
Ah.. mmnnnn... genres and such. Honestly, I'm willing to try most anything and have tried quite a few things [if I do say so myself] but I always found and find myself leaning towards fantasy plots with twisty turns and beautiful lore and things that keep me on the edge of my seat. I love character drama, and turning my character's worlds upsidedown and seeing how they react. Basically I love tormenting characters. I am in control of this problem. I can stop anytime I want. Just like waddl- never mind.. Roleplaying has always been a way to sort of escape the world and dream up new things that I would never get to do in real life and stuff, so I tend to lean away from Slice of Life but I have done quite a few of those. They can bore me to death at times, though, haha. Slices of life with fantasy sprinkles are the best though. OhmygodIlovethemsomuch. This is sort of a Slice of life sundae, but not just, like, some sprinkles. We dumped all the toppings. All of them.
Ohhh, man, it feels so good to write again. I really haven't gotten the chance too. I missed it!! Thank you, King. I couldn't have though of a better way to wake this up a bit. I probably just would have done something, like, uh.. "*poke* is this ded, if it's ded I'll kill it again* D:" This is why I have King. ;___________; I can't resurrect a thing to save my life.
So please expect a post soon! I am working on it whenever I can. I don't nap in my spare time. Haha. Wat.
Lovely goals lol. But only partially what I was referring to. Though @Kal , I wouldn't mind Nix being likened to a motherly or sisterly figure if you would like. She has got some years on her lol.
By goals, I was mean OOC goals. Like how I kept saying I had wanted Rudy to have a rocket powered chainsaw xD Which I was largely joking about :3 Or another example being, I wanted to use him to make the others see the adventure as something more serious than just a fun excursion through a fantastical dream. I wanted him to go out leaving people befuddled without him. Which I think I was able to do! yay! Lol however I do kind of wish I didn't get rid of him since I could have had a lot of fun with what is going on. Though paradoxically, if he wasn't gone, most of it wouldn't have happened. Except for Aku and Ingu. Lol I would have had fun trying to convert them away from Seyena's witchy propaganda. I would also like to see someone taking up Rudy's mantle, like Spencer is doing. Lol or fighting over it xD As for Nix, like I said, I want to see her become a well liked part of the group. I am hoping to be able to play her to that effect. As for the love part, what happens happens :3
I was refering what you all would like to see happen to your characters, not just what they want. Afterall, no reasonable character would want harm to befall themselves. But! As players, we want action and drama and surprises and FUN! So what do you say, anybody here got anything they would like to see happen to their characters? Even just a vague emotion you want them to go through? Or everything in between! I would like us to really talk about what we want and what we want to see oreven ideas of what could happen. Cloudy has done a great job in giving us all of this and leading us through it, and I am sure she has got many surprises ahead of us that we can definately look forward to. Yet there is never any harm in talking about this kind of stuff. It is fun and educational!
Lol I was using genre's as a loose term to see what sort of things everybody likes. Like what Kal said about bubbly and sunny with dark and dank. I think I understand what you mean about it. Those two sides of the coin can offer some wonderful contrast when they work together. Though unfortunately my abilities are limited with super bubbly. My ability to perform bubbly expressly depends on not just the character I am playing but the scenarios that sprout up as well as context and consequences. Because of this I sort of unwittingly keep bubbly at bay. (E.g. Lol Rudy? Bubbly? Actually not impossible, just highly improbably, Though I would have liked to have seen him like that, he wasn't the type to have it come easy)
One of my favorite themes to play on is psychology., emotions, and the mind. I use it IC and OOC
Lol and the Hotel has been pretty crazy. Luckil;y I got a vacation coming up! Starting this friday actually! Hooooooorrrrraaaaayyyy!
As for literal genres, fantasy is always a great fall back to play on, and something I always enjoy. Especially when I get the chance to recreate characters from my past. I love lore and large worlds filled with characters. When it comes to other genres, like modern fantasy, I enjoy them if pop culture hasn't tainted them too much. One of my pet peeves being monsters(like werewolves) not being treated like or acting like monsters, or curses (like vampirism) being downplayed to the point it isn't really a curse. As for sci-fi or advanced tech genre's, I enjoy them quite a bit because I love science and I enjoy it as a theme. And space travel and dogfights and giant robots and pew pew lasers and aliens and exploring other worlds can be just as fun as any fantasy! However... it is hard to find ones that are done right since many people have to be on the same page, and the RP really has to have all its ducks in a row on how everything work sas well as rules and mechanics. It makes it really complicated and hard to pull off well. I suppose this could also apply to horror genre's. I love me some good gritty atmospheres, but if the ducks aren't in a row, all it becomes is a drama and gore fest which is no fun, when it should be exploring dark themes that make you feel like every post is important in trying to keep your character alive in an unforgiving and dark world where the lines between good and evil become so blurred you end up questioning even yourself.
I am the self proclaimed president of the Nago fan club! I just love characters and NPC's!
Lol Cloudy, not boring me. And you got to try harder than that to ruffle my feathers
And yay for tormenting characters! Lol always a fun past time. I think I will hold off a rant on that for now though
It is what I am here for, boss! I am glad I can help out. I want to find out what everyone wants so I can cram it down their throat (jk) or at the very least make some contributions to add in some fun extra content or offer ideas and stuff.
PS I was gonna write more, buuut, work demands my attention Dx. So I apologize if I didn't address everything or everybody. But I still want to talk and have a grand open discussion! I am loving it
Oh you guys, I really love this roleplay. I'll be here until it dies (unless I die first). Promise! (:3)
So you're an old guy, King? xD jkjk. ( ) I love learning where other people across the world wide web come from and what yall live like. It always interests me to see how different people can be, even when sharing the same interests. I'd love to hear a bit about you other roleplayers still with us too... How interesting that Federoff is a drummer: see I know no drummers. (^.^)
As for me, I'm 17, still a junior in highschool ^^. I also work at a roller rink which I adore, because I love to roller skate (and I'm pretty darn good at it if I do say so myself). (8)) My goal in life is to become rich! (Really my underlying goal is to be as happy as possible in life) (> ) And boy its gonna happen one way or another! I plan to go to college and major in Psychology most likely (because I find the mind intriguing). Then, I'll go on to become a great lawyer! However, I am currently looking into trading futures [also known as day trading...(its kinda like stocks but better)]. If that works out, and it is as profitable as I have been told it is, then I may not even become a lawyer because I'll already be rich. That is all still up in the air at the moment. ( )
As for character stuffs: Sherlock might end up falling in love...maybe...over time... (' ) He's still a bit confused in the emotions area, as well as the girls area. Perhaps, he could use a little push in the right direction? Or some friendly advice may be useful...though I'm not sure he'd be so open to such advice. Who knows? (^.^)
Genres? Well, I have noticed that I have a tendency to write dark pasts for my characters. I do so adore scary/creepy stuffs! () Perhaps some kind of horror roleplay would be a good match for me? I haven't tried a lot of genres. Really, I think I have kept to roleplaying in zombie apocalypses and in schools for supernatural teens. This is my first roleplay to not fall into one of those categories. I guess I'll have to work on branching out into other genres...I do believe I've grown quite bored of school settings. (>:<) Oh but wait--I did do another orphanage roleplay just before this one! How could I have forgotten it for a moment!!! ( ) I loved that roleplay too...twas the time of one of my most favorite character creations! (:3) Oops---I seem to be rambling...apologies! I'm done! ^^
I personally don't like Nago that much Maybe it's that he wants to eat all the good guys. That tends to be less then popular (Guys we should tame him.)
I personally want Spence to feel the stress of the mantle he's tried to take on. I like that Jay's sort of acted like a second in command, helping Spence's orders get to those hwo didn't hear it. if he keeps it up, I might actualyl find him tolerable!
I agree with Terra about not being a big fan of Nago. Of course, that may just be my being subjective due to Sherlock's being terrified of him because of his doggyness. >.< Speaking of...I do somewhat look forward to Sherlock having some sort of embarrassing breakdown when confronted again by the shadow wolf. (} ) Should be interesting...can only imagine Jay's reaction to Sherlock having a complete breakdown...oh, and what would Yori do...?
Lol yes. I'm old. I feel it anyway. I am twenty seven and from Tennessee. Lol my fondness for engineering started with legos as a kid. Though I would love to go to college, especially for a degree in psychology, I decided to take on a trade instead. Couldn't afford to accrue any loans to chain me down.
As for roller skating rinks. They are just awesome. I have some very fond memories of one we used to have. I wish we had one close by.
Lol I love me some dark pasts. However I can write a pretty decent rant on the do's and don'ts of character pasts I have learned over the years, of which I will spare y'all at the moment.
Lol what is wromg with liking Nago? Yes. He is a villain. But just because the purpose of a character is evil does not mean we cant appreciate him. Just think back in all the stories you know and the villains you have enjoyed and their key roles in making good stories. And think of how fun this rp wouldn't be if there was no antagonistic aspects. besides. I got big plans for Nago that I think you all will enjoy seeing play out.
I think I can push along certain things. Including romance and pressure
And these recent events have been very amusing to me watching his the characters are interacting with each either.
Oh! And ramble away! That is what OOC and open discussion is for
I suppose King has a point. Evil characters are most certainly necessary for a good story. I am curious to see more of Nago. I'd like to see more of his personality and thoughts, y'know? Like right now, I feel that he is too unseen. Cloudy, you should maybe give a little peek into his current life or even just a mini side story about his daily life! (like they do in manga a lot) That would be cute! Oh please could you do that!?!?!?!? (:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(:3)(O)
xD Pretty much all my characters are nice people, force of habit to play a nice guy, problem is most of them end up being pretty backgroundy types in the main plot.
