She got over to the station straight after work with sandwiches and a soda each, going to his office and sat down opposite him, watching him on the phone for a minute til he hung up. “Hey, beef and cheese or pork barbecue?” She asked him holding them both out to let him choose.

he shrugged a bit and smiled. “Nothing’s changed here. It never does. This place is stuck.” He muttered shrugging a little. “I’m surprised you would come back.... I woulda thought you’d fight tooth and nail to stay away from here.”

Max nodded some giving a small laugh "Yeah I would have, but I needed the work." She said shrugging some watching him some "I've been hired to try and get this place going with the times with pictures." She explained

Jack smiled some as he saw her come in "Pork please." He said happily kissing her hand gently

She groaned a little but handed over the sandwich, "I should have brought two of those." She grumbled but moved to sit next to him, lifting her legs up to lay them across his lap, "I'm gonna start packing when I get home, you need me to pick anything up for you to pack?" She asked him quietly, just watching him some and smiled.

He raised an eyebrow but nodded "Good luck." He muttered, "They must be desperate." He chuckled some, leaning back against the booth bench he was sitting in and watched her quietly, "Where did we go wrong?"

Max watched him and sighed some "We were dumb, didn't use protection. Got pregnant." She murmured biting her lip hard "Plus we wanted different things in life....what was to happen when I got ready for college? Were you going to come with me? Us do long distance?"

Jack chuckled and switched the sandwhiches kissing her cheek gently "Get me some razors? I'm out and need to trim my mustache." He murmured pursing his lips some

He sighed some and shrugged, "I know I just... I always regretted how things ended. I'd hoped we would be able to work through and at least finish with things good between us." He explained to her, drumming his fingers on the table.

Carmen nodded, putting that on her list. "Only a trim though right?" She pouted, looking over at him. "I like your mustache.... It's become a very important member of this family." She giggled, munching away at her food, "Mmm, they've already started talking.... About why we're going to California... Rumors are spreading." She muttered, shaking her head with a little amusemtn.

Max nodded sighing heavily and taking his hand in hers to stop his nervous drumming "I know, I wish we could have worked things out too." She murmured giving a small sigh "Maybe though...maybe this is some kind of fate giving us another shot."

Jack chuckled and shook his head some munching on his sandwhich "Promise just a trim sugar." He murmured rolling his eyes at the mention of Rumors "Well they can have fun with their speculation, the important people know why we are going."

She frowned some, "They aren't about you." She muttered, sighing a little and leaned back in her chair, "And I know it doesn't matter, but it doesn't make me feel great either." She grumbled some, nudging his leg gently with hers as she pulled them off his lap.

He frowned as he watched her, nodding in agreement, "I'd like to think so at least." He told her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze, finally ordering once the waiter walked by

Max smiled softly and ordered lokking back over at him once the waiter left "Your tattoo collection has grown I see." She said giving a small laugh. When she had left he had a good amount on his arms but he was no where near as covered as he was now.

Jack gave a heavy sigh and pulled her to sit in his lap "Look at me, you are the most perfect and beautiful woman in this world yeah? Don't let these people tear you down sugar." He said softly to her before he kissed her lovingly "I love you more than anything."

He chuckled some and shrugged. “Yeah... I didn’t have much else better to do with my free time.” He muttered smiling some. “Would you want us to try again?” He asked her, tired of beating around the bush.

carmen smiled at him a little. “I love you too baby.” She murmured, kissing him back and held onto him gently. “Maybe tonight we should just pack and have some leftover salad and call it an early one?” She mumbled tiredly, already work out from the morning. “You got much going on here? Any crazy criminals in town?“ she smiled, knowing full well, Alex being so drunk he was a nuisance was normally the biggest thing to happen round here

Max laughed lightly at him and smiled some "Still straight forward I see." She murmured before giving a small nod "I would like to...maybe this time we could do it right."

Jack smiled some shaking his head a bit "I scared em all off." He said laughing lightly "I think that is a good idea, I'm thinking about heading out in an hour or so." He murmured kissing her gently again

He smiled at her a little and shrugged. “Maybe then... tomorrow night... I take you out for dinner. But on a date?” He asked her.

she smiled and nodded watching him. “You already brief with Jason?” She asked him softly. “Cause then we could hit the road real early in the morning?” She suggested.

Max nodded happily and smiled more "Yeah...I'd like that a lot." She murmured softly blushing lightly when she felt butterflies errupt in her

Jack gave a small nod "Yeah Jason know everything." He murmured groaning wjen she mentioned getting out of there early "Ugh but that means we gotta get up early."

"I know, I promise to drive the first shift... but I wanna make it there by Monday so we got time to settle in before work starts for you on Wednesday." She pointed out, kissing his cheek, "I'll even buy you a coffee." She promised, standing up once she saw the time, "I better head home, I'll see you there late handsome." She smiled, kissing his cheek again and left him to it.

He smiled as he watched her some, "So would I...." He trailed off as the pizza arrived and picked at his some, more focused on her, still not one hundred percent believing that he wasn't have a hyper realistic dream that he would feel awful from in the morning. It wouldn't be the first time he'd dreamt about her coming home. It would be the most detailed though she he was glad that it wasn't a dream. He really had a shot at trying this with her again

Jack smiled some at her giving a small nod "Well how can I say no if you're offering Coffee?" He said chuckling some before he got up and led her to the door "I'll see you later sugar."

Max smiled some at him eating her pizza happily "Johnny eat, I'm not going anywhere." She assured him giving his free hand a small squeeze

She smiled tiredly at him and slipped her arms around him for a moment. “Even after all these years you still get up when I leave.” She murmured, kissing him softly. “New chapter, I know... I know it’s a little nerve wracking for both of us, but I think we’re gonna be just fine.” She murmured, kissing his nose. “I love you. See you at home.” She smiled, heading out of there and got home quickly to start packing.

He shrugged some. “Im not that hungry. I’ll take it home later.” He mumbled smiling at her and chatted for the rest of lunch til he took
Her back to his place so she could get her car. “I’ll pick you up at 7:30 then. Tomorrow. Nothing too fancy, but I don’t gotta tell you that. You know it already.” He chuckled quietly.

Jack smiled happily giving her a small nod "I always will." He murmured giving her one last hug and kiss goodbye "I'll see ya later sugar." He said softly before she went to leave and he made his way back to his desk to finish up the last of his work

Max laughed lightly giving a small nod "Sounds like a plan." She said happily before going to her car and leaving his place not noticing that they were being watched from a window in his house

Carmen had fallen asleep on the couch by the time he got home, grumbling a little when she felt a hand on her forehead and looked up at him, glancing over at the clock. “You’re a lot later than you said.... everything okay?” She mumbled, sitting up slowly and stretching out, pulling him to sit with her, just for a minute.

coco smiled at her and headed inside. “Letty! I got pizza if you want it.” He called toher, setting it on the counter and went to get a beer and lounge on the couch

Jack came in late smiling softly as he saw Carmen asleep on the couch. He placed a hand on her forehead pushing some hair from her face "Hey sugar....yeah Jason wanted to take me out for dinner. I brought you something back." He said softly lifting the bag from her favorite restaurant.

Letty came down and smirked some at her dad taking a slice of pizza from the box "Who was that?" She asked raising an eyebrow at him

She smiled reaching for it tiredly. “Mmm... how many onion rings did you have?” She teased him and kissed his cheek before digging in. “I love you.” She murmured softly to him, smiling a little.

He frowned some shaking his head. “Nobody. Just an old friend” he muttered, sighing quietly.

Letty shrugged some and munched on the pizza she had in her hand "She's pretty, you guys looked cute." She said happily. She had always loved Coco even if she was just not finding out he was her dad, and she wanted him to be happy with someone. She could always tell he was lonely and she thought he deserved someone

Jack chuckled some and smiled at her "Only a few, promise." He murmured kissing her cheek before she started to dig in

She smiled tiredly at him, munching away til she finished and she got up to put her trash away then took his hand and led him up to bed, "Last night in this house for a while, i've sorted out who's gonna watch it and check the mail as well as everything else for us... so all we gotta do is get some sleep." She smiled at him.

He shrugged some. “I don’t know if we’ve both changed too much... I guess I’ll find out.” He muttered watching her go upstairs with her food and he pulled his wallet out, pulling out the photo of the two of them when they were kids, holding onto it and staring at it until he fell asleep.

Jack gave a small nod and smiled some cuddling her close to him "Mmmm you are perfect you know that?" He said softly kissing all over her face before he started to fall asleep

Letty came down and turned off all the lights and put a blanket on Coco glancing at the phoot in his hand frowning some when she saw the woman from before and Coco smiling ear to ear with adoration looking at her. She had never seen him look at anyome that way before, not even her.

She smiled, kissing his cheek and shook her head a bit, undoing his belt and jeans so he would at least be more comfortable. She certainly worried about him all the time and this job wouldn't change that at all but she enjoyed one last night of complete peace and quiet as she eventually fell asleep again

He rolled over a little mumbling in his sleep, apologising to someone in his dream over and over until he settled again and stayed that way til morning

Jack woke up in the morning groaning loud when Carmen shook her awake "Noooo not yet." He mumbled sighing heavily and rubbing his eyes smiling some when he saw her face "Mmm I do love waking up to your face."

Letty woke up early that morning for school making herself a quick breakfast before shaking Coco awake "Hey wake up, breakfast is on the stove." She said softly before she went outside and left

She rolled her eyes and pecked his cheek, "Mmm you're a charmer but we already overslept, it's 5:30." She muttered, laughing some at his groan, "Come on, you can go get the bags in the truck and I will get coffee going and make this bed pristine then we're gonna hit the road.... If you're good I'll stop at Mcdonalds somewhere for breakfast." She winked at him, going to get dressed.

Coco groaned some and just yawned, gettign up and looking at the photo set on the side sighing quietly. Those had been the best times of his life and he still got nightmares over how things ended. He got himself together and headed to the kitchen grabbing a bit of food before heading out and going straight ot eh club house to find Angel and EZ finally back.
