Fandom One Way or Another

Carmen frowned some as she pulled up to jacks place and saw a few suitcases outside, loading them into her truck after letting him know she was there, smiling a little when he told her to leave it and she watched him do it instead. “I’m alright, just a little tender.” She promised. “You look happier than I expected you to.” She murmured.

coco walked in and frowned looking at her, not sure how to get the words out. “He... the run didn’t.... we had a bad run.” He told her quietly. “Aaron he...” he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t look at the girl he loved and tell her aaron was dead.

Jack smiled happily as she pulled up to his place. He quickly shooed her off and put the bags away for the two of them "Good good." He murmured before kissing her cheek "They're not pressing charges, they just fired me." He explained

Max frowned some as he explained what happened "Johnny...who's blood is that?" She asked starting to fear the worst. She felt her blood run cold when he finally said his name and it all clicked. She whimpered shaking her head some "No..no Johnny stop lying to me!" She sobbed

She frowned watching him, "They could have pressed charges?! Jack you.... Okay." She mumbled and pecked his cheek, getting into the passenger side as he'd promised to drive the first leg of the journey. She'd dropped all of her house information and everything at Angel's place for him to sort out and do with as he pleased, she was still paying her rent every month til the end of her lease but any stuff in there he could do with what he wanted. Some of it they'd bought together when they thought they were gona be together. "Fresh start then yeah?" She smiled tiredly at him as he clibed in and squeezed his hand.

He shook his head and swallowed a bit. "I'm so sorry.... They opened fire... He wasn't... he wasn't paying attention." He mumbled shaking like mad and sat down with his head in his hands. He wanted to comfort her but not while he was covered in blood still, getting up and going up to the shower to wash it off, leaving her for a minute, not sure what he could do to make any of this easier.

Max sobbed quietly as he left quickly going to his room and grabbing a hoodie before she went to hers and curled up in bed sobbing more as she thought over it all. She looked at Coco as he came in and reached out for him "Did they....did you get the guy who did it?"

Jack got into the driver's side and started up the truck giving a nod "Yeah but its okay, like you said fresh start for the two of us together." He murmured happily

Coco walked over and held onto her, pulling her into his arms and kissed her head over and over, "Baby, there were bullets everywhere, I didn't see who did it, we just were tryna get out as quick as possible.... We only knew he'd been hit once they left." He explained quietly, rubbing her back and trying to soothe her.

Carmen nodded and smiled at him, leaning back and watching the world go by as they left Santo Padre behind, hoping she was seeing it for the very last time.

Max cried softly and held onto him tightly giving a small nod while she cuddled in close to him "I didn't.....I didn't think I would loose him so soon." She whimpered to him. They stayed like that for hours and eventually she passed out from the exhaustion caused by her crying

-16 years-
Carmen finished up the phone conversation she'd been forced into that morning and headed straight down to the police station to hopefully find her husband there, hoping he wasn't out on a call about a neighbour dispute or something. They'd been living the quiet, small town life for so long now that she sometimes forgot where she had been before. Almost. The phone call that morning had brought everything flooding back though and she needed to get to JAck as soon as possible, "Hey Lisa, Jack here? It's kinda urgent.... Oh and he forgot his lunch again." She told the girl at the desk, rolling her eyes. When he'd first started working at the locl station she hadn't minded at all that he ate so much junk... But they weren't in their mid 20s anymore and she'd heard him complain a couple times recently about his jeans not fitting. But he was also resisting the healthy changes by 'forgetting' his lunch. the one thing that hadn't changed in the long time, was the fact she still loved him and would do anything for him, they'd only grown stronger together with every change that came their way.

Coco was doing a job with Angel, or coming back from it. Either one, didn't matter. All his days seemed to blur together now. The only uptick was when he'd catch a glimpse of some girl walking down the street and for a split second he'd think he'd seen Max but it was always just the light playing tricks on him. After Aaron had died... after Coco had been coerced into killing his best friend, him and Max had been so deeply buried in young love that they barely saw the outside world for a good week or so, and then a month after that she'd come to him and told him she was pregnant.... They lasted only a few weeks after that announcement and the next thing he knew was there was a baby being dropped off at his doorstep with instructions to give her up for adoption, that Max had left Santo Padre and she wasn't planning on eve coming back. But he'd never been able to give up his daughter. Not really. Not after he held her for the first time and saw how much she was both him and Max in one tiny person.... He'd kept in her life as much as possible whether Max would approve or not and every time he saw her, he was reminded of how much he really had loved Max, how much he had let slip through his fingers.

Jack sat at his desk groaning some as he saw another report he needed to file. He sighed heavily trying to figure out how they would do this round up this week. The small town life had been good to him and Carmen, he loved her more now than ever. They had gotten married not too long after arriving and he was hoping that they could soon be trying for kids. He wasn't getting any younger and he wanted atleast one child of his own. He moved around some in his chair trying to make his pants fit a bit better but he knew he needed to clean up his act when it came to his eating habits. He looked over as Lisa called him "Yeah send her in Lisa." he murmured smiling wide when he saw Carmen walk in "Hey there sugar, whats up?" he asked happily getting up and kissing her gently

Max stood outside of her new apartment taking a deep breath as she glanced out at the Santo Padre land scape. She had sworn to herself she would never return but the opportunity this job presented out weighed her hatred for the town. When Aaron had died she had lost herself, she got pregnant and she knew she was no where near ready to be a mother, neither was Coco. They had broken up soon after she found out after numerous fights and her finding another girl in his apartment at the club house. She had decided on adoption and had told Coco about it as well but when he didn't show after the baby was born she left her with him to get it done. She left and started her career in photography after that and had made a bit of a name for herself since, though she was scared to run into Coco.

She smiled some, setting his bag on the desk, "You 'forgot' your salad." She teased him, pecking his lips and sat down watching him, "I think I should just get you some new jeans." She teased him a little and sighed looking out the window, "I heard that a kid I knew from back in Santo Padre, got out of prison few months ago... He was in there for killing a cop... you remember how hot that desert sun is?" She mumbled, sitting down and clasping her hands in front of her and trying to work out how she would tell him what the phone call had been for.

He pulled away from the stop light once it changed and headed back into town to go back to the club house, stopping off with Angel and EZ so Angel could pick up some cigarettes, leaning back some and trying to get the plastic bottle he'd been drinking from into the trash, missing. "Hey prospect, why don't you go pick that up, make sure it goes in." He told him.

Jack groaned some as she brought the salad giving a small laugh "Sorry sugar, I'll make sure to eat it." he said happily frowning as she mentioned Santo Padre "Yeah I remember that shit hole." he muttered watching her some "Why do you ask? Since we left you've barely talked about it." he murmured reaching over and taking her hand in his giving it a small squeeze.

Max decided to take a stroll down the main street not too long after she got her last box in. She rolled her eyes at the biker guys she saw down the street. She didn't notice Coco's face or the patches on their kuttes until she picked up the water bottle and handed it to EZ biting her lip when she saw the patch finally. She looked over and went a bit wide eyed seeing the man she had fallen in love with at 17 "Here...um...watch where you throw things." she mumbled before trying to scurry off so Coco didn't see her.

She squeezed his hand back and moved to sit on his desk. “I got a phone call this morning. Someone from the assistant U.S. attorneys office.... they know you worked the case down there. They know you have the best knowledge of if... they’re offering you a job to get back on and help them with their case down there. It would be for a while so we’d have to move down there temporarily.... would you be willing?” She asked him, glancing down to her side at his Stetson sitting next to her.

coco looked over and frowned. “Max! Holy shit. Hey!” He called after her but frowned as he watched her keep going. He had no doubts this time. That was her and she was back, but clearly wanted nothing to do with him.

Jack frowned some pursed his lips a bit as he thought about it giving a heavy sigh "Not sure if this would be a good move, not the place to really try and start a family." He murmured grabbing his hat and placing it a top his head "What do you think?"

Max frowned quickly trying to walk off but when she heard his bike follow she gave a heavy sigh turning to look at only man she ever loved "Hey Coco....its um...its been a while." She said softly pushing some hair behind her ear

She tensed a little and looked back up at him. “Jack honey... we talked about this, they said it would be a miracle if we could have kids.” She mumbled. “My body can’t hold it.” She mumbled but he hadn’t been listening. Or at least he’d been ignoring it and pretending it was fine. “It’s your chance to get back into the agency... at least give this guy a call honey.” She murmured, standing up and pecking his cheek “I’ll see you later okay? I’m gonna go to work.” She murmured.

coco cut the engine and looked over at her. “Yeah... a really long time. What are you doing back here?” He asked curiously. “If you’re in town for a while we should have a drink, catch up a little.” He suggested. He still loved her to this day and he missed her like crazy.

Jack frowned more and sighed heavily "Doesn't mean we couldn't try for adoption or surrogate." He murmured softly to her and nodding a bit "I'll think about it, but I don't know."

Max bit her lip hard and gave a small nod after thinking about it for a minute "Yeah....we should." She said softly. As she watched him all her feelings that she had surpressed for so long were coming back to the surface and it was throwing her for a loop

She turned back to look at him and smiled, "Hey.... I love you cowboy." She winked at him smiling some before she finally walked out and headed out to the salon in town to get to work, letting her boss know she might have to leave but as soon as she knew for certain she would tell her, then got on with her day.

He frowned a little and watched her for a minute, "I'll uh... I'll see you around then." He smiled at her before heading off with Angel and his brother.

Max gave a small nod to him and watched as he left. She recognized Angel immediately, he really hadn't changed much since she last saw all of them. Sighing softly she made her way around just checking out the old and new shops that had popped up around her home town

Jack went on with his day as usual thinking over if he really wanted to be back in the DEA or not. He had grown to love his small town and the small town cop mentality. He wasn't as young as he used to be and it worried him a bit as to how Carmen would adjust being back there

She got home after work and walked in to find him sitting on the couch with a glass of whiskey in one hand and a cigarette in the other, walking over and curling up next to him, pressing her forehead to his shoulder, "You okay?" She murmured, facing her husband and worrying about him a little.

Coco got back to the club with them and looked over at Angel, "That was Max... She's back in town." He told him, watching EZ head off and Coco lit a cigarette, leaning forward on his parked bike some. Angel was the only one he had ever told about Leticia and he sighed softly. "She doesn't know that I didn't give her away." He mumbled.

Angel chuckled some and pulled out a cigarette lighting it up ans taking a drag quickly "Told you that shit would come back to haunt ya." He murmured shaking his head "You better tell her or pray she doesn't find out."

Jack sat at home after work sipping some whiskey while a cigarette burned between his fingers. He was off in his own head that he hadn't heard Carmen come in until she sat next to him. He jumped slightly but relax seeing her and gave a small frown "You think this would be a good idea? Us going back?"

She frowned, taking the cigarette and putting it out before he burnt himself and moved to sit in his lap, "I think.... there's no harm in going down and seeing wha this job is about... and if it's not for you, heck we come home and forget that it ever happened... but I know my man, and I know that if you don't try you'll be kicking yourself with what ifs down the line." She murmrued, "As you said yesterday... we aren't getting any younger." She murmured to him, kissing his nose.

Coco rolled his eyes sighing heavily, "I know, I know." He muttered, getting off the bike and heading inside to go sit down and see if the last number he had from her, the one he got off her aunt would work, smiling some as it rang, relaxing even more, for just a moment, when she picked up. "Hey... it's Jonny... I know I said we should atch up... How does tonight sound? At the bar and grill in town. Next to Felipe's butchers." He suggested

Jack finished off his Whiskey and gave a nod sighing heavily "Alright, you got that number for them still?" He asked lookimg over at her giving a small smile "How was you day? Nothing wrong at the salon?" He asked softly

Max answered the unknown number on her phone goimg a bit wide eyed that Johnny some how had her number "Hey.....oh um yeah sure...tonight sounds fine.." she said feeling butterflies errupt in her stomach at the thought of alone time with him again.

She nodded and went to get the sticky note off the fridge. “It was good... they’re still buggin us down at the church about doing some prizes for the fundraiser.. yknow if we’re down in California by that point, we’d get away with not showing face.” She pointed out smiling some and passed him the number. “I’m gonna go shower. I’ll be down in a bit. We can get some pizza.” She murmured pecking his lips and headed upstairs.

he nodded to himself. “Perfect... see you around... seven thirty?” He asked, agreeing once she said yes and hung up, going back outside to see EZ and Angel both headed out on their trip up to Stockton.

Jack gave a small chuckle "Thought I was a on a diet? Pizza isn't very diet friendly." He said watching her walk off to their room. He sighed heavily and stared at the number for a few minutes before he finally called

Max smiled softly and agreed to that time before hanging up. She looked at how long she had to get ready and noticed it was already 4. She quickly went to get in the shower and make sure she looked good.

"Then you can have more salad but I'm not on a diet!" She called back to him, laughing some. She came back downstairs after an hour or so and wandered into the kitchen, slipping her arms around him. "What's the verdict then?" She aske dhim quietly, simply nodding when he said they were going to California, kissing him softly and smiled, "I trust you baby, we're gonna be just fine." She assured him.

Coco got home for a little bit, looking over seeing Letty in the kitchen, "Hey I uh... I'm gonna be in late tonight okay? Don't wait up or anything, I got something I gotta do." He told her gently and smiled some, going to get changed out of clothes that stank, still in jeans and a t-shirt though before heading out again

Jack looked over at her and turned in her arms kissing her forehead gently "We're going back." He murmured stroking her cheek gently "I love you Carmen." He murmured before kissing her gently "Pizza is on its way, made sure to get your favorite."

Max got there about 30 minutes early sitting there already 3 drinks in beyond nervous about seeing him again. She took a deep breath when she saw him walk in and waved him over hoping he thought she looked good when he saw her

She smiled some and kissed him back. “Mmm.... I love you too Jack. Even after all these years of driving me crazy.” She teased him gently and pulled away to get a soda out the fridge, going to curl up on the couch to wait for the pizza.

he headed straight to her when he arrived and sighed quietly, sitting down and just stared at her a moment. “How you doing?” He asked her.
