One and Only

Kaliyah wrapped the towel aroud her chest so that it covered her body, and followed closely behind Rodrick.

"Only if you'd like. I brought a few with me, so that would be helpful." The former princess dropped her towel and crouched down to rummage through her belongings. She pulled out a long blue button up shirt and leggings.

"Still would be good to get a few island clothes. Perhaps some beach-wear?" He nodded, moving to get his own things. "And while we're out, I'll get Eloise to put our things in the drawers." He added, looking at their bags.

Kaliyah nodded excitedly and proceeded to dress herself. She sauntered over to the large vanity mirror and combed through her long brunette hair. "Eloise is a maid, I presume?"

"Yes Love. We have just her and a butler. They both take care of the house except for our bedroom and sitting room. The butler's name is Edmund. They were on holiday until yesterday." Roderick explained, tying a belt around his waist to cinch his loose tunic.

Kaliyah finished brushing her hair and placed the hair brush gently on the vanity. "I'm ready, dearest." She smiled warmly and walked over to Rodrick, wrapping her arms loosely around his middle.

"I see that." He teased her, leaning down to kiss her once more. He moved out of her arms to tug on his boots. As he stood up, he ran his hand through his hair, leaving it attractively tousled. "Shall we, Wife?"

Kaliyah grinned up at her husband. He truly was perfect, she thought to herself. "We shall." She reached over to lace her fingers through his before leaving the bedroom.

He led her down Main street, already abuzz with vendors and shoppers alike. Having visited once before, when he bought the house, Roderick knew where he was going. He steered them straight to a seamstress' shop.

As the entered the store, a small bell tinkled and a woman came from the back. She looked very motherly with a worn face but kind eyes. "Hullo dearies. What can Apolline do for you?" She asked, indicating her name was Apolline.

As villagers passed by her, Kaliyah offered them warm smiles or even greeted them kindly with a hello. As they entered the shop, her eyes scanned the many fabrics and examples of clothes that were splayed on the walls.

The former princess beamed at the woman who's name was Apolline. She glanced up at Rodrick.

"He gestured around the shop. "Anything you want love. I can afford it. all I ask, is at least two items for my viewing pleasure." He grinned and moved back to sit on one of the benches placed around the shop.

Kaliyah blushed and turned to the woman. "Perhaps some dresses? Just simple ones. What colors do you have?"

The woman beamed and gestured for Kaliyah to follow her to the back.

Moments later, the former princess returned wearing a beautiful yet simple white gown that fit around her middle and flowed out at her hips.

Roderick nodded and twirled his finger, indicating his wife to turn so he could see from all sides. "I like. It fits for the weather here too." He said, smiling.

A shop girl giggled from behind Kaliyah when he smiled, even though it wasn't at her.

Kaliyah smiled, glad to have his approval. Her head turned to the sound of the shop girl's giggling at Rodrick. He was very attractive, this girl had obviously decided that too.

Kaliyah turned toward her husband once more. "What is your preference for the next piece?"

"Something for the beach perhaps? And colorful!" He said, twisting to look at the girl as well, a confused look on his face.

The woman nodded and took his wife to the back again. In a few moments time, Kaliyah emerged wearing a turquoise form-fitting dress that had a cut out on the midsection that exposed her stomach and hips and back as well.

When she came back, Roderick looked relived. The shop girl was standing over him, leaning over to showcase her breasts to an uncomfortable Roderick. He stood up quickly and moved to Kaliyah, kissing her on the mouth. "Love the dress Princessa." He whispered, fingers moving to trace along her exposed skin.

Kaliyah gasped as he moved to quickly kiss her, but she soon found the source of his urgency. The girl was scowling at her, jealous of the kiss the two had just shared.

"You do? I know it's rather revealing, but I didn't think you would mind all too much."

"I love it." He assured her, smiling and ignoring the girl.

She made a noise and stomped off. "and thank you for coming when you did. I might have died a little..." He grinned, kissing her again. "go try on something else. We have all day."

Apolline grinned. "come along Madame, I have many more selections for you!"

Kaliyah laughed and allowed Apolline to lead her back once more.

A few dresses, shirts, and sensual under garments later and the couple were standing at the counter with Apolline. "Thank you so much. I love them all!" Kaliyah exclaimed before casting a nervous glance at the shop girl who was watching them from the back.

Roderick was paying, busy counting out the bills that Apolline needed. "We've moved into the house at the hill, I hope you'll be a good friend Apolline." He said.

As they were leaving, the girl stopped them, speaking to Roderick.

"I can give you more than she can. I look better as well." she purred, coming up to them and pressing into roderick who shrunk back. He looked at Kaliyah, wondering if she would put this tart in her place.

Kaliyah turned to face the girl. Her words were false, if only she knew who Kaliyah really was.

"Excuse me, may I help you?" She inquired as she tactfully stepped between Rodrick and the shop girl. The former princess wasn't much for confrontation, but there's a time for everything.

Roderick smiled proudly at his wife. She truly was perfect.

"I wasn't talk to you, gold digger." She sneered, tossing her red curls.

Kaliyah laughed before speaking, "I am his wife, and I'm not sure the term 'golf digger' is appropriate to use to address to someone of such noble stature, but I shall let it slide. Now, will you please scurry on?" Her voice was as smooth and melodic as ever, while the shop girls was raspy from perhaps too much chatty conversation. While Kaliyah kept her poise and posture, the shop girl seemed burnt out and raggedy.

"Noble stature? Hah, I bet you're just a common whore!" At this Roderick had step in. "Listen here you pathetic little girl. My wife is a woman of honor and grace. You are less than the scum on her shoe. She is my wife and the only woman I will ever love. Now I suggest you move out of our way before I call the authorities. " he thundered, rage swirling in his green eyes.

Frightened, the girl ran off.

Kaliyah rubbed her wrist absentmindedly. Common whore, huh? She sighed loudly and turned to Rodrick. "I hate being rude, but she had that coming. You don't speak to a princess that way, even if I no longer am one." She leaned against his side, slightly exhausted from the dress fittings and the annoying girl.
