Of Brick and Stone (open)

"In the lab, maybe? She's always there after all" She suggested as she looked around the dinning hall, at least she was not there "How about we start there?" With a light shrug she walked out of the place with him. As they walked down the hall, she used one hand to cover her mouth, hiding a yawn.

(Lol he's the perfect villain xD Him and Noelle! Hmm I changed Aaly's picture btw, changed it to a real one to make it much more realistic ^^ Though her hair is a bit shorter and her right eye is red)

(Also sorry for the short post, kind of having writers block DX)

(Oh I like her for Aaly. I'll put her up now.^-^)

Crisis let out a long sigh of relief. School was finally out for the day and now she made her way through the courtyard to the train station.

"See you tomorrow Crisis," one of her friends called.

"Bye," Crisis called back giving a wave.

As she walked, Crisis dug through her bag for her cell. The micro-chips had been on her mind all day and she was happy to have the chance to try again to get them She just hopped that the other boy didn't pick up theline again. Crisis looked through her call log until she found Aaly's number. She tapped on it and help the cell to her ear, listening to it ring.

Shotgun fell into step alongside Aaly. "Sure thing," he said, then smiled. "Tired? Didn't you just wake up?" he teased.

"Hey don't give me that smile" She said and raised her hand in a fist to give him a light punch before she felt something buzzing on her pocket. Her fist stopped in mid air and she lowered her gaze to her side, stuffing her hand into her pocket to pull out her phone. She glanced at the screen, brow raised before sliding her finger through it and raising her phone to her ear "Don't you get tired of calling me? What do you want?" Her tone was rather annoyed. She had forgotten she had called her but it was strangely ticking her off.

(Yay! ^^ Glad you like it)

"How rude," Crisis said making her voice sound just as annoyed. But in truth she was rather happy that she had finally gotten through. "Like I told that rude boy who hung up on me, I want those chips that you stole from the ball. You know, the one you bombed. But I'm willing to forget that detail if you hand it over nicely." Crisis was using the voice her parents used when they were telling their subordinates to do something.

The first car left the lot of the FlyBird building, it belong to the royalty of District 5. The man waited as two more cars flew up into the air. Then he saw it, the royal car of District 1. The man looked through his scope to get a closer look at the car, it had the District 1 crest on the doors. There was no denying it, that was the car that needed to crash. He watched and waited until it was about to cross the large river that ran through the city. And then he sprang into action. Quickly, he hacked into the main system of the hover car and smiled when he saw that he was in complete control of the car's power grid. The man looked through the scope one last time.

"Three... two... one!"

The man shut off the power.

Something was very wrong. Jonathan knew this the instant the crowed streets of Market calmed. Everyone was watching something, so the District 1 prince followed their gaze. In the distance a hover car was falling.

"It's going to crash!"

Jonathan heard a voice say. There was more people talking but Jonathan couldn't hear what they were saying. He was to focused on the car, and how strangely familiar it looked. The Hover car nicked the top of the bridge that hung over the river and crashed into the river. And that's when it hit him, like someone had just knocked the wind out of his whole body. That was his Parent's car.

Jonathan didn't even know that he was running until he felt slightly out of breath.

"Move!" Jonathan snapped pushing the crowed out of his way. There was a lump in his throat and Jonathan tried to swallow it, he was not going to cry. Jonathan came closer and closer to the river, hoping that his eyes had deceived him, that that wasn't his parents car. Why the hell was there so many people in his way? Jonathan thought pushing people left and right. He just needed to get to the river, he had to get to the river!

Aaly's eyes widened for a moment, no wonder Nate had snapped back there. He had surely thought Aaly had told somebody else about the micro chips! Now.. How the heck would that girl know? Aaly maintained her mouth shut for several seconds before a smile bloomed on her face "Go to hell" She said in a friendly tone of voice. She had not only blamed them for the bombing, like the others, but was acting all cocky about it. Seriously, Aaly regretted more than ever that she had helped her escape her District.

Shotgun looked at Aaly. " Who are you talking to?" he asked frowning.

Crisis stopped walking. She narrowed her eyes and put her free hand on her hip. This was going to get her no where. Crisis cleared her throat to keep the anger from it. "Let's try this again," she said. "You give me what I want, and I'll give you something you want."

Jonathan had finally reached the river where a large crowd had formed. He pushed his way to the front and looked out onto the river, he couldn't see the car anywhere.

"Dammit," Jonathan hissed. The air was loud with the sirens on first responders.

"Jonathan!" Obsidian called from behind. Out of breath from running after Jonathan. Behind her was Sebastian. "Jonathan!" She called again. "What's going on?"

Jonathan just ignored her as he abandoned his spot in search of someplace with a better view.

Aaly glanced at Shotgun and raised her hand, as if telling him to wait and be quiet for a moment. She leaned against the wall before letting out a snort "I think both of us know you've got nothing I'd ever want" She said in a rather mocking tone.

"Are you serious?" Relena asked, surprised. She fell back on her chair for a moment, genuinely stunned "Just like that?"

"That's what I've been told" Trent nodded "Now our informant may be wrong. But he says he is 95% sure"

"What happened? Like.. How could that happen?" Relena's brows furrowed.

"It seemed like an 'accident'. No.. we all know there are no accidents like that" Trent was sitting on the meeting room with Relena and Derrick "Someone had targeted District 1 royals" His gaze hardened "Now we know it wasn't us nor any other Rebel group"

"Are you suggesting that because of the micro chips? Is that information really correct?"

"Does it really surprise you that much? FlyBird is now on that woman's hands, honestly, it doesn't surprise me at all. Ever since she was a young lady she had been the devil itself" Trent tapped his index finger on the table and the image of District 1 crown prince appeared in front of them "I don't fear the other young prince, but this one over here is surely as evil as Noelle Damon. If the Queen and King of District 1 are not to be saved today, I'm afraid our true battle will surely begin soon. Those two will show no mercy" Trent couldn't help it but smile; and nor would him.

Crisis rolled her eyes. "I'm from District 5, you live in District 2, I have everything you want." Crisis began to walk again; if she kept stopping like this she was sure to miss her train. A sigh escaped the girl's lips; she would have to stop with the insults if she wanted those chips anytime soon because the truth was, Aaly was right, she had nothing. "I'm sure we can find something you want," Crisis said, the confidence not leaving her voice. "I mean I am..." Crisis trailed off as the hover cars of first responders buzzed through the air, they were followed closely by the cars of reporters, all heading in one direction. Crisis frowned and took a step forward, what was going on?

The lump in his throat was not going anywhere. And no matter how hard he tried; Jonathan could not shake the feeling that his parents were lost to him forever, dead. Again, Jonathan felt like the wind had been knocked out of him. They couldn't be gone, they couldn't! As Jonathan pushed through the ever thickening crowed he noticed that his vision was blurring. Fresh tears spilled from his eyes and stained his cheeks, the prince hadn't realized that he had started crying. Quickly, he whipped at his face with the backs of his hands and blinked back the newly forming tears. Jonathan was thankful for the hood that covered his face.

Almost there, Jonathan was almost to the bank where he could see the crane pulling the crashed car from the river. He could then see that it was not his parent's car that had fell and laugh about how stupid his worrying had been. Jonathan was about to push the last person out of the way when a tight grip grabbed onto his shoulder, stopping him where he stood.

"Unhand me!" the young prince snapped as he was spun around to face a District 5 solider. Instantly Jonathan's hood was pulled from his face and his right eye scanned. "What is the meaning of this?!" Jonathan demanded. He noticed that behind the solider stood two more next to Obsidian and Sebastian. Like him, both of their hoods were pulled, exposing their faces. The ones in the crowd who noticed they were in the presences of their Princess bowed their heads. This sent a ripple effect through the crowd and soon almost everyone was bowing to Obsidian. But the princess hadn't noticed this, her eyes were fixed on Jonathan, a scared look on her face.

"You need to come with me," the solider said. "It is not safe here."

Derrick folded his arms across his broad chest. He was listening closely to what both Trent and Relena were saying. He liked to know as much information as he could before voicing his option. "First a bombing, now an accidental car crash. I would call it karma if I didn't suspect that this was all planned." Derrick sighed. "Are we prepared for a battle against those two.?"

"Find something? I don't think you would find something useful" She said simply, as if stating a fact.

"Hey did you hear?" Aaly blinked when she heard people passing by them and walking down the hall in a rush "They say it's already all over the feeds"

Soon more and more Rebels were rushing past them

"Wait! What is this all about?" She asked, lowering her phone for a moment and looking at one Rebel girl who was walking with two other friends

"A car has crashed and fallen to the river on District 5 and it seems it is one of the royal ones" The girl said, brow raised at Aaly before she kept on walking.

Aaly's own eyes widened "Call me later if you happen to find something useful" She raised her phone to her ear to say those words before lowering it and hanging up. Aaly looked up at Shotgun "Let's see what is this all about" She then turned and headed to the main hall, where she knew everyone was going to watch the news.

"We still need to get armament. I've heard there is this one place where they are creating high tech armament. They've not finished it yet though but if they happen to finish it, it will be deadly" Trent said, his gaze rather cold.

"Get me one of each kind. I may be able to work on it" Relena said

Trent glanced at Relena and nodded. She was the genius girl after all.

"Where is that place anyway?"

Trent smirked "In a place you'd have not expected it to be" He said before tapping on the table again. A map of a District appeared just before them; District 8.

Crisis sighed as the line went dead. Hopefully Halo was having more luck with retrieving the micro-chips. That is if he was even trying, something told Crisis that he was now. The girl walked over to the edge of the station platform that faced the river, the spot where all the cars were heading towards. She rested her arms on the railing and leaned forward a bit, squinting her eyes to see better. Crisis gave up on using her eyes switched to her cell. She looked through the live feeds of the day until she found the one she was looking for.

"You have got to be kidding me," Crisis whispered. She ran her finger across her cell and the image of a reporter standing by the river flicked to life in front of her.

"...As you can see behind me, they are working on pulling the car to shore," the reporter stated. The camera zoomed in past the reporter and the scene of a hover car being lifted out of the water by a crane filled the screen. The car was carried to a spot on land that had been barricadedoff to civilians by officers. The reporter was back on the screen. "It was confirmed that the car did in fact belong to King Julian and Queen Lucinda of District 1. There is no word on what has caused this horrific accident, of if anyone is still alive. Though there is speculation that there were no survivors. We do know that both sons, Prince Lux and Prince Jonathan, are safe. We will keep you posted if anything new is reviled.

"That's just awful," a girl said.

A small group of kids from her school had gathered around Crisis to see the feed report. The scene switched to interviews with witnesses and Crisis lowered her cell. First a bombing and now a car crash? Crisis had a sudden urge to get home as ask her parents if they knew anything.

"A royal hover car crashed?" Shotgun said following Aaly to the main hall. That was just wired. Hover cars didn't crash, especially not one of the royal ones. Shotgun walked into the hall where it was already crowded with rebels. He pushed his way to the front and was surprised to hear that the crashed car belonged ti District 1. "The king and queen are dead?" He said to himself. He knew that he should have been happy, he should jump for joy for pete sakes. This is what he wanted, it was what his parents had wanted, it was what everyone here wanted. But something didn't sit right with Shotgun. This had happened much to smoothly. Everything fell into place a bit to perfectly. Someone had once told Shotgun that there was no such thing as a coincidences. Shotgun glanced around the room to see if he could find Trent, no luck. Relena and Derrick wasn't here either. Shotgun wondered if they knew what was going on.

Derrick raised a brow. "District 8? They can barely afford to feed their own people, how do they have armament? The better question is why?" District 8 was a neutral district. After the deaths of their rulers twenty-two years ago the district fell of the grid. Derrick was surprised to hear that they had military weapons, and high tech ones at that.

Aaly was truly.. Stunned. She could hear the cheers all over the main hall, God she would have even seen herself as one of those who were cheering but.. It all was just off "This.. Can't be happening" She thought out loud. Her now mismatched eyes showed her most absolute confusion. She glanced around, she needed an explanation. She glanced up at Shotgun and realized he too thought things may not really be what they appeared to be "They can't die like that. Things like that don't happen"

"I'd say that it surprises me that you're not sharing our happiness, Aaliya. You, who pride yourself in your hatred towards District 1. Nevertheless, it doesn't. It figures, they are your rulers after all"

"Don't be an idiot, Jason" Aaly glared at the guy who had made his way through the rebels. He had Nate's same cocky look though he was not as 'good looking' as him. Aaly recognized him as the 'idiot' who always followed Nate around.

"I'm just stating facts" He said with a shrug. Some of Nate's 'followers' were standing behind him. Girls and guys.

Aaly sighed. Seriously? Couldn't they just leave her alone? They had made her life miserable when she had first arrived just because Nate wanted to. Now even if he wasn't there they just loved to annoy her.

"Whatever, just forget it" She turned around to leave but the other rebels had turned to look at her as well. They didn't have anything against her but the fact that she was not happy because of District 1 Queen and King's death was just suspicious.

Aaly was aware that she could not afford to let a seed of doubt grow among her comrades concerning her loyalty.

"I'm not saying that I'm not 'happy'. I'm just saying that this doesn't make sense. Things like traffic 'accidents' concerning one of the royal's car doesn't happen. There are no coincidences" Aaly said as she turned to look at Jason, her gaze firm.

Jason gave her a mocking smirk "Come on, now are they really so invincible that no normal accidents can happen to them? As far as I know they are still humans"

"Don't you see she grew up by their side? Of course, she thought they were like Gods. The Aashan family, we heard all about it there on District 1" A girl stepped forward and stopped by Jason's side. She had been one of those who had gone to District 1 as well "Your family was no better than any of them and they supposedly died on an accident. Would you suggest they were also killed?"

Aaly froze, hate ringing on her ears "Don't you dare speak about my family" She hissed. Now she was really triyng her best not to snap right there and harm that girl as well.

"Why not? Wouldn't you be supposed to hate them as well? They did fabricated many things for the higher Districts" Jason said.

"Cut the crap already" A male's voice was heard and all the other rebels who had been silent up until now as they formed a circle around the ones who were arguing turned to look to the entrance, including Jason and the others.

"Nate? Where were you man?" Jason asked, an idiotic smile blooming on his face.

"I was.. resting" He said with a shrug as he glanced at Aaly and Shotgun "Move" Those who were blocking his way left him go through. He stopped right on the middle, between Aaly and Jason.

"It's good that you're here. I was just telling Aaliya that-" Jason started with a rather satisfied tone before he was cut off by Nate.

"Yeah, I heard it all" He turned to Aaly and though he was glaring at her, mainly because of what she and Shotgun had done to him that wouldn't stop him from saying what he truly thought "However, Jason, either you're way too stupid or blind" Jason's smile withered immediately as he stared at Nate blankly "You're all so blinded with 'happiness' that you don't think further. True, the district's royals are still human beings but they are guarded with the most advanced technology. There are things that are supposed to prevent them from dying. Their car crashing like that and even more conveniently falling into the river, hence, diminishing their chances of survival are things that do not happen on this world we live in, unless they were planned"

"B-But they are dead!" Jason stammered " It's all that matters!" He complained. The rebels, however, remained silent thinking Nate's words through.

Nate sighed "No, it doesn't. We don't know who caused their deaths, if they happen to truly be death. As such, they may even be our new enemies" Nate explained.

Aaly, who had maintained her mouth shut since Nate arrived, couldn't help it but just stare at him in disbelief. But why should she be surprised? Nate was an ass, but he was not all that stupid. Even though he was stating his own point of view, Aaly felt rather grateful for it.

"Ah, but there is the thing. District 8 itself doesn't even now what has been happening on their own District. They are too worried on other things to pay attention to that" Trent leaned back on his seat.

"Then, who is the one behind all of that?" Relena asked, brow raised.

"According to the information we've got, the ones behind all of this is FlyBird. It has been a long process, a program they've been supporting and implementing long ago in secret. No royal family knows about it" Trent raked his hand through his dark hair "Unless, one member of the District 1 royals does. That we don't know for sure. It's a possibility. We know who are we talking about"

"Prince Lux, is it?" Relena intertwined her fingers loosely "What about his younger brother?"

Trent shrugged "As far as we know, he doesn't know a thing. The guy is just a boy who lives on his own little world. He's just a teenager, he's not told anything. Aaliya confirmed that to us as well"

"Good afternoon Miss Rennels," the man at the front desk said as Crisis walked into the lobby of her apartment building.

"Good afternoon," Crisis said back as she slipped into the elevator. She leaned forward and allowed the scanner to scan her right eye.

"Good afternoon Miss Rennels," a robotic voice called from the speakers.

"Good afternoon," Crisis said once again as the elevator doors closed.

Crisis lived on the highest floor of the building. Her mother had told her that she picked that floor for the view, the had a breathtaking view of the city. Well that and the the penthouses had the most rooms. The elevator doors opened to her living room and Crisis stepped inside her home.

"Miss Crisis, how was school?" her maid asked as she took Crisis bag from her.

"It was good," Crisis said. "Are my parents home?"

"Yes. But they have a guest and asked not to be disturbed." the maid replied.

"A guest?"

"Yes, Ms Damon."

The wheels in Crisis's head started turning as she tried to match the name to a face, and then she got it.

"Wait, as in Noelle Damon?"

The maid nodded.

Crisis tilted her head in confusion. Both her parents worked with FlyBird, so it wasn't surprising that they knew Noelle. but why was she in her house? Her parents never brought work home, they had a strict rule against it. Crisis started walking up the stairs where she heard voices coming from. She had only stepped on the first step when her mother appeared on the top step.

"Oh Crisis hunny, you're home," Alice said.

"Yeah, I just got in," Crisis said moving from the bottom step as her mother, followed by her father and then Noelle, came down.

Noelle smiled at Crisis as she stepped off the last step. "So you're Crisis," she said. "I spend so much time with your parents, I'm surprised we never met."

Crisis beamed, she felt so honored to me talking with Noelle, the president of FlyBird!

"It's really nice to meet you," Crisis said.

"Crisis, can you go upstairs and bring me my bag? I want to make sure I packed everything," Alice said.

"Packed? Are you going somewhere?" Crisis asked.

"Yes," Noelle answered before her parents could. "It's some business that just needs to be taken care of ASAP. I was being such a klutz and completely forgot about it, now I have no time for it. Thank gosh for your parents. I don't know what I would do without them!" Noelle turned to Alice an William and smiled.

"Noelle, you're too kind." Alice said returning the smile, but it didn't touch her eyes.

"Crisis, the bag," William chimed in.

"Oh, right." Crisis said turning on her heels. "Again, it was nice to meet you Noelle."

"You too," Noelle called after her. Then when she disappeared up the stairs she turned back to Alice and William. "You know, we could really use her."

"We've been over this Noelle," William said.

Noelle sighed. "Such a waist. Whatever, just remember to call me once you arrive in District 8," Noelle said heading for the elevator. "And leave no trace that you were ever there."

"Do we ever?" Alice asked.

"No, you don't," Noelle smiled as the doors closed.

"I was thinking the same thing." Shotgun said. He was happy to see he wasn't the only one who shared that view point. "I don't know if any of you have ever flown in a hover car before but as long as they stay on the grid, they can't fall." The grid was a magnetic space about thirty feet above the tallest building in a city. It was made solely for a hover car travel. "It's was next to impossible to fall off the grid unless something knocks you off, or you're power is off. I don't know about you all," Shotgun said looking around the room. "But it seems a bit strange to me that a royal hover car just fell off the grid."

"That does sound like it was planned," Lila said.

Shotgun turned to his left, he didn't realize that she was standing beside him.

"But even if all of this was just so big freak accident, do you know who is in control of District 1 now? Lux. And just one week ago Noelle Damon was placed head of FlyBird. If I were you I wouldn't be celebrating, I'd be preparing for battle.

"Lux huh?" Derrick said shaking his head. "I've never met his highness but I've heard of his reputation. You got a plan for getting our hands on those weapons Trent? Because I'm sure that Lux isn't just going to hand them over."

Jason snorted "Bring it on" He said before crossing his arms above his chest.

Aaly rolled her eyes "Jason. Shut it" She said with a sigh.

"Oh would you like to fig-"

"Jason. Zip it" Nate said in an irritated voice, to which Jason immediately flinched, bitting his tongue to stop his complain.

"Lux is not a guy who is easy to deal with. I wouldn't mind his younger brother, his bark is worse than his bite. But I agree with Lila, now that his parents are dead, the real battle will begin" Aaly said simply as she slid her hands into her pockets.

Trent rubbed the back of his neck "Haven't got much. We know how to get in and everything. It came with the micro chip concerning FlyBird's affairs. Now, all that I'v got, is trying to sneak in and as Relena has asked us to, take the things she would need with us and bring them back here"

Relena tapped the table distractedly "Uncle, I may be needing other things. It all depends on what are those high tech armaments made of"

Trent nodded "I figured you would. We can get into that lab and hack into the computer. Send you the information and wait for you to tell us what would you need us to retrieve from that place. You need to be quick though. After we are done with it, we bomb the place and get the hell out of there"

"Bomb it? What about the people who work in there?" Relena looked at him with wide eyes

Trent shrugged "They are none of our business. They are helping District 1. You think they would show us mercy if it was other way around? Besides.." His gaze darkened "The ones who are working over there have surely got bright minds. If they are working for the higher district, hence, against us, they are better off gone"

"Uncle, you can't be serious. They are human beings doing their jobs" Relena protested

"And we are a group that shall act accordingly to their goals" Trent declared.

Relena turned to Derrick "Derrick tell him something. He can't just kill innocent people like that"

"Relena's right," Derrick said. "We can't just kill innocent people. They most likely don't even know what they're working on, they just need the money. We bomb them then how are we any better then District 1? There must be another way to shut down the factory without having to bomb the whole place."

A smile slipped onto Shotgun's lips. The more he thought about it, the more excited he got. He just had to look on the bright side.

"Why are you smiling?" Lila asked.

"Because, think about it. The king and queen are dead. Sure we don't know who was behind it but we do know that they're dead. And if Jonathan isn't a threat then the only person left to take down is Lux. He just has to fall and then we win. We've never been this close to freedom before.

"I think you think that this is going to be easier then it will be," Lila said.

Shotgun shrugged. "Nothing worth having comes easy."

"The factory is not exactly the whole point. The factory would be nothing at all without those guys. If you don't like the bombing with them inside then we can take them as hostages, bring them here and keep them here, or threaten their families, I don't know. Do you have a better idea? I'd love to hear it. Besides, we are not trying to prove we are better than them, we are rebels, our means do not matter as long as we get what we need. They play dirty, we can't win in a fair and square battle" Trent shook his head as his brows furrowed, he had lost his 'brother' because they were trying to win that battle in those 'honest' means. He had lost those he held dear because they hadn't had the guts to play as dirty as the higher districts played.

"True" Aaly turned to Shotgun "But unfortunately I wouldn't say we are any closer to our freedom, Shotgun. Instead, I would say it may be the opposite" She sighed "Lux is ruthless, maybe even more than Trent.. No, he's also cruel and merciless, he's surely worse than Trent. Noelle Damon is no better than him. I would say we are not exactly as close as we would love to believe"

"Is that guy really that much of a... 'monster'? 'Cause that's how you are making us picture him" Nate declared, a little bit of skepticism on his gaze.

"Believe me, he may be worse" She used to think of him as sweet when she was little, mainly because of his smile. However, the more she went to the palace to see Jonathan, the more she had felt wary around Lux. His smile was just off, his eyes were cruel and they were even much more worse than those of his mother's.

Jonathan sat in the parlor of the District 5 palace. The second they had stepped through the door Obsidian was swept away and Jonathan and Sebastian was sent here to wait. That was a half hour ago.

"This is ridicules," Jonathan snapped suddenly. It had been quiet until he had spoken out. "How am I expected me to wait here? I demand to know what is going on." There was no tv in the room and both Jonathan and Sebastian had left their cells in Obsidian's room before going out.

Sebastian looked over at the double doors that led to the hallway, they were shut. Sebastian was starting to feel like a prisoner.

"Just wait for King Kannin and Queen Penelope to come back, be patient." Sebastian said.

Another moment of silence passed, the doors didn't open.

"I think it was my parent's car, the one that crashed," Jonathan said quietly.

Sebastian looked at him. "I saw the car fall but I didn't see who was in it. Are you sure?"

Jonathan didn't respond. Saying yes would make it real and he just couldn't handle that.

The doors opened.

Jonathan and Sebastian stood and bowed their heads respectfully to the king and queen of District 5 as they entered.

"I'm so sorry to keep you waiting," Penelope said walking up to the boys, Kannin beside her. "We just wanted to have all the facts straight before we spoke to you."

Jonathan noted that Penelope's voice was high pitched. That only happened when she was nervous. His eyes dropped down to her hands, she was twisting a handkerchief. Jonathan looked back up at her face.

"There was an accident," Penelope said. "Your parents" the queen stopped herself. She looked to her husband for help, twisting the handkerchief tighter in her hands.

"The car that crashed belonged to your parents," Kannin continued. "By the time they pulled them out of the water--"

Jonathan cut him off. "They were dead," he said.

“I’m so sorry Jonathan,” Kannin said placing a hand on his shoulder for comfort.

So that was it. His mother and father were really dead. Jonathan felt a lump form in his throat and he was very aware of everyone's eyes on him. "I should go," Jonathan said.

Penelope shook her head. "You don't have to. You should stay here. And if you need to talk to--"

"I just want to go home," Jonathan said, his voice eerily calm.

“Of course hunny,” Penelope said nodding. “I’ll call for a car.”

“Thank you,” Jonathan said. He could bring himself to look at Penelope; he didn’t want to see the pity in her eyes.

Jonathan avoided eye contact with the servants and guards as he made his way towards the front door of the palace. He was starting to feel claustrophobic. He needed to get outside and breathe. Jonathan was about to exit the palace when someone rushed into him and pulled him into a hug. Jonathan looked down to see a curly mass of red hair. He didn’t hug her back.

“Obsidian let go,” Jonathan said. His voice was still even but he didn’t know how long he could keep this up, and he wasn’t about to break down in front of Obsidian. She was saying something but Jonathan couldn’t understand what, half because her face was pressed into his chest and half because she was crying. “Obsidian, let go,” Jonathan repeated, this time he pulled back. Kannin and Penelope helped to pull Obsidian off of Jonathan and there he left her, balling her eyes out.

Jonathan listened to the low hum of the hover car that was taking him and Sebastian back to District 1. He was trying to think of the last thing he had said to his parents but couldn’t remember what it was.

“Dammit!” Jonathan said balling his hand into a fist which he slammed into the bullet proof window of the car. When that didn’t make him feel better her punched the window again, ignoring the pain shooting through his hand.

“What the hell are you doing?” Sebastian asked grabbing his arm before he could hit the glass again.

“It doesn’t make any sense!” Jonathan snapped pulling his arm out of Sebastian’s grip. “I watched the car fall Sebastian, it just fell. Hover cars don’t just fall out of the sky! Cars like this,” Jonathan waved his hand around. “They don’t just fall.”

“You don’t think it was an accident,” Sebastian said, it wasn’t a question.

“No, I don’t. And I’m going to find who did this; I’m going to make them pay.”

Derrick sighed and leaned back in his seat. It was true that bombing the building would be the easiest option. It would get rid of the factory and the people who made the weapons. District 1 would loose one of their armories, sure they had more but this would be a blow to them. Derrick just didn't know if the bombing would be the best way to handle this. Those people were just doing their jobs, the might not even know what they were making the weapons for, if they even knew they were making weapons. But it wasn't like they could capture all the workers and bring them back, that would take time they didn't have.

"Let's say that we do bomb the place," Derrick said finally. "How would we go about it?"

"He only one man," Shotgun said. "You make him sound immoral. Besides, we've been dealing with his father for all this time, we should have a good idea of how to deal with him." Shotgun had only met Lux once, during the ball, and he didn't look like anyone to be afraid of. He actually helped him with directions, unlike his bratty younger brother. Noelle, now he had heard some things about that woman. Nothing kind. But how much power could one woman have?

"It's pretty simple, actually. As I said, we sneak in, we get everything we need out and then bomb the place. How? Well a couple of them should be enough, the place doesn't seem to be really big anyway" He reached for the hologram and seemed to touch it before he moved his hand to the side, the hologram rotating a bit with it "We'll bomb specific spots" He tapped some of the spots with his finger, a small blue dot appearing on those places as he did so "As soon as we are out the bombs go off, just as simple as that"

"I'm totally against it" She declared stubbornly "They are innocent people, Uncle!"

"Yeah, but what they are creating threaten all of us. Not only 'us' the rebels, but 'us' the citizens of District 2. Or do you really believe they won't end up destroying the entire District at the end?" He raised his eyebrow at her.

Relena opened her mouth to speak but couldn't really find the words to fight back, so instead she turned to look at Derrick. What would he say about her uncle's plan?

"He's not like his dad. In fact, he would even be able to stab him in the back without even batting an eye. He's just so... Cold" Her brow's furrowed "I think it is better not to underestimate him, that's the only thing that I want you all to understand"

"Yeah well, we will see about that" Nate said simply. Aaly turned to him with a scowl, which soon disappeared from her face. Nate was not wearing the arrogant smile she had expected him to have, instead he was just determined and serious.

Derrick sighed. "If you feel that this is the only way to get what you want then I support you, you are our leader and I trust you know what your doing," Derrick put emphasis on the last four words. Tydus would have fought tooth and nail against Trent's play. But now with him gone, there was no one to talk him out of his rash decisions. Derrick knew that fighting with him would just be a waist of time, and he may even choose to do it without him or Relena altogether. At least this way they would have a small say in what went in in District 8.

"I do suggest triggering the safety alarm once we're done so that the workers have a warning to get out." Derrick advised. "And about the bombing points, are we going to break into small groups and each plant one? And how do you plan on getting into District 8?"

"Hmm," Shotgun said taking in what Aaly had just said. Everyone's happy demeanor seemed to switch to a gloomier one with every word Aaly spoke about Lux. Even Nate seemed to be taking this seriously. Shotgun decided not to underestimate Lux. He had once heard that underestimating your enemy before a battle was one of the biggest mistakes you could make. And Shotgun had a feeling that they couldn't afford to make any mistakes. "Where's our fearless leader by the way?" he asked looking around. "I'm sure he's heard of this by now."

(Sorry for taking long! DX Been so busy with the moving to Mexico thing. So many things to pack.. Ugh I hate packing XS Well, at least I'm done at last! I'm finally moving tomorrow. I'll be answering soon! *^*)

Trent didn't say anything about the safety alarm, leaving it for later "Yeah, I think splitting up into small groups would be the proper thing to do. Now, if talking about getting into District 8 you know it won't be a difficult thing to do. If we don't get near its 'cities', they won't mind it. I do recommend, however, that we get into the District in groups, so that we all don't arrive at the same time" Trent said before scowling "Nevertheless, I'm not sure on how to sneak into that damned factory. Any ideas?" He glanced at Relena, who stubbornly looked to the side. Trent sighed "Derrick?"

"Who knows" Aaly shrugged, she hand't seen nor him, or Derrick or Relena.

"I hadn't seen him since the meeting" Jason said, wanting to take part on the conversation after being shut up. Like that, most of the rebels started talking and moving again, wanting to point out their worries and point of views as well.

Nate took that chance to wrap his fingers around Aaly's arm and drag her away from the center with him. Before she could even shrug him off her, he was already pushing her against the main hall's corner wall, away from the suddenly concentration of people at the main's hall very center.

"What the f*** are you doing now Nate?" Aaly said with a glare, shifting a bit to the side to push herself off the wall.

Nate raised both of his hands to her arms, pressing them against the wall to keep her in place

"How does that girl know about the microchips?" He asked coldly

Aaly would have tried to push him off her, but maybe it was for the best for her to talk about that with him before it all turned into yet another misunderstanding.

"I don't know. I'm telling the truth. I don't even know how she got my number" She said calmly though honestly.

Nate remained quiet for a moment

"Who was she?" He finally asked.

"The girl from District 5 who came with me a week or so ago"

Nate looked at her, wide eyed

"Then would you really expect me to believe you that-"

"Yes, I do. Because I'm telling the truth" Aaly said firmly.

". . . Crisis Rennels was her name, right?"

Aaly blinked, surprised

"How do you know?"

"We had to know who the hell had you brought into our District after all" Nate answered simply.

Of course Aaly thought to herself They wouldn't just let in any stranger without doing a fully background research. No wonder Trent had been mad at me for letting them go.

"If she knows about the chips, her parents may know about it as well" Nate brow's furrowed at the possibility.

"You're hurting me" Aaly said with a light growl as Nate's grip around her arms tightened, possibly unconsciously "And that we don't know for sure"

Derrick thought about this for a minuet. "Well, getting into District 8 shouldn't be as hard as getting into 5 or 1. You don't need a PIC to cross the boarders... but now that I know that District 1 has a factory there, I'm not sure if District 8 is under Lux's watchful eye. If we do get into District 8, I say we enter through the cities surrounding the factory, and not the one where it is located. It may be too suspicious if we all arrive in thesame city, even if we arrive at different times. About how we're going to make our way into the factory... hmm. We could have someone pretend to be a new worker, and then when no ones looking open up a back door for the rest of us to enter. Or, if we could shut down the security system long enough for all of us to get in, that could work too. But none of that will matter if we can't find a way to fly there. We have to take a plane, do we have one that runs?"

Shotgun was chatting with a female rebel when he noticed that Aaly wasn't by his side anymore. "Hey, do you know where Aaly went?" he asked Lila.

She glanced around the room and shrugged. "Not sure, Nate is gone too," she then let out a sigh. "I hope their not fighting again, do they even realize that their on the same side?"

Shotgun didn't bother to respond to Lila, he had spotted Nate holding Aaly up the the corner of he room.

"Aaly a big girl, you don't always have to come to her rescue," Lila called after Shotgun who was already moving away from the crowd.

"Yeah well, I want to," he said tossing a smile over his shoulder. Shotgun made his was to the two and stood directly behind Nate. "And what's going on over here?" he asked.

The official report, made by the Chief of Police himself, stated that the horrific accident that took the lives of King Julian and Queen Lucinda of District 1 was purely that; a horrific accident. The area of the Grid where the royal hover car was flying on had a glitch and the car simply had nothing to float on, so it fell. There would be no further investigation.

Lux smiled.

“Your parents are dead, The Rennels are off to District 8, and you are about to be named the new king of the most powerful district in the world. Looks like everything is falling right into place,” came the female voice in Lux’s ear.

“And our little assassin friend?” Lux asked. He could hear the grin forming on Noelle’s lips.

“I’m just about to meet him now.”

“You know how I feel about loose ends,” Lux said firmly.

“And you know how good I am at tying them,” Noelle cooed.

“Remember to leave no trace you were ever there,” Lux said before ending the call.

First there would be the funeral. Then there would the Transfer of Powers Ceremony where Lux would officially take his father’s place as king. Noelle was right; everything was falling right into place.

After the line went dead a tall slender man came and stood in front of Noelle. As if right on cue, Noelle thought. He was dressed from head to toe in black and large reflective sunglasses sat on his face. A bit cliché, it was 10pm after all, but Noelle was meeting him in an abandoned alley at the edge of District 5 so who was she to talk? And he did blend in well with the night, so that was a plus.

The man smiled smugly. “Did you see my work? I’d say it was my finest yet.”

Noelle returned the smile. “How could I miss it Mr. McKnight? It’s all anyone is talking about.”

“So, you going to tell me why you wanted them dead? You’re not in bed with District 2 are you?” Mr. McKnight asked.

“I don’t see why that’s any of your business,” Noelle said matter-of-factly.

Mr. McKnight nodded. “Fair enough,” he said. “The only thing I care about is my money.”

“Check your account,” Noelle said. “It’s already been wired.”

Mr. McKnight checked his cell and smiled. “Well then, I guess our business together is over… unless you need another person taken care of?”

Noelle shook her head.

“It was nice doing business with you. And you can trust that this little conversation stays between us,” Mr. McKnight said turning and walking back down the alley.

“Oh, I’m going to make sure of it,” Noelle said to herself. And with that she pulled out a silenced gun, aimed, and shot.

Without a sound, the bullet shot through the air and ripped into the assassin’s skull. He dropped to the ground with a soft thud.

Noelle handed her gun to the young woman who stood in back of her. “This man never existed. Erase his bank accounts, his school records, remove his name from the last place he ate lunch. His parents never had him, do you understand?”

The woman nodded. “Yes ma’am.”

“Good. Now clean up this mess. “

“You heard her,” the woman said and three more lackeys went to work on removing the body.

Trent nodded "Yeah, you're right. Let's do this. Let each of the groups arrive to some of the cities surrounding our target. All arriving to different ones, of course. Regarding the thing with the plane, we do have one. We can use that one to get to the land near District 8, you know the one that is toxic, there are no longer cameras or anything over there, just a dumping ground which no one cares about. There we will split up and part ways to each of our destined cities. Now about the new worker thing. . . If we decide to go with that one, the chosen person would indeed need a fake PIC implanted" He glanced at Relena who just gave him a shrug, something that was good enough for Trent "Who would you suggest?"

"Just chatting" Nate said simply, not even bothering to look back at him.

Aaly rolled her eyes at Nate "Crisis knows about the microchips" She said as she turned her gaze to Shotgun

"You wouldn't happen to be the one to tell her, would you?" Nate added, finally looking over his shoulder at the guy.

"Of course not" Aaly said with a hint of irritation "Stop blaming us" She shifted a bit "And let go of me already"

(Hey could Halo somehow find himself being used as the fake worker? I would love for him to go back to his home! Assuming the factory is in fact in Japan. It would also give Crisis leverage to get the chips.)

"It would be easiest to choose someone who already had the implant; it would also help if they spoke the language. And they would need to be familiar with factory work as to not draw any suspicion from their supervisor..." Derrick trailed off trying to think up which rebel fit the criteria, but her was drawing a blank.

"Yeah Nate, you caught me. I thought, 'what better way to help the cause than by giving Crisis Rennels information on the chips?'," Shotgun said shoving Nate off of Aaly. "But someone did, and I'd like to know who it was just as much as you do. And why is she going out of her way to get them?" Shotgun wondered if she was working with District 1; it wouldn't surprise him knowing who her parents are. Not for the first time, Shotgun wished that he had gotten rig of the girl when he had the chance."

Halo shoved his hands in the pockets of his work jumpsuit. All throughout his day all he heard was gossip on the deaths of the king and queen of District 1. To be honest, He could have cared less. Their deaths didn’t affect him in any way, shape, or form. What did catch his attention was the way that they died. A glitch in the Grid? Halo couldn’t even remember the last time something like that had happened.

Halo pulled his black hair out of its low pony tail and snapped the rubber band around his wrist. He ran a hand through his hair, getting it to fall the way he liked. The Japanese teen had decided to take the back way to the train station today; he couldn’t bear to hear his friends talk about the car crash any longer. He had dealt with it at work and now he just wanted some peace and quiet. And that’s why Halo loved taking the back road to the station. No one ever came this way so he could really be alone with his thoughts.

“It was nice doing business with you. And you can trust that this little conversation stays between us,” Halo heard someone say. Maybe he had spoken too soon. He guessed people came through here after all. A tall slender man dressed in all back and reflective sunglasses, really? It was 10pm, stepped out of the alley. The man and Halo looked at each other and he was about to say something when the back of his head exploded into a pool of blood. Halo jumped back and bit the inside of his cheek to keep from yelling out. Something told his that yelling out wouldn’t be such a good idea.

A female voice began to speak but Halo didn’t stick around to find out what she was staying. Quickly, he ducked into a nearby alley and crouched low. Still completely shell shocked, Halo watched as three armed men appeared from the alley and picked up the dead man. Two sleek black hover cars (that looked a lot like the ones he has seen at the raid) landed. One of the armed men dragged the body into one of the cars; he was followed by a woman typing away on a tablet. The other two men got to work on cleaning up the blood. Then a second woman stepped out of the alley, a blonde. She stopped to look around and Halo crouched lower. But not before getting a flash of blue eyes and a pretty face, Halo recognized them. The blonde stepped into the second car and it flew off.

Halo stayed in the alley way for a good half hour before the second car finally flew off. Just for good measure Halo stayed in the same spot for an extra ten minutes before dashing off to the train station, not stopping once. His heart didn’t stop pounding until he was safely on a train back home.

(Yeah sure! ^^ How do we get him to be used though. Like how do we make them contact him or so? Should Aaly do it? Also, I was wondering if you'd be okay with me introducing a Rebel guy from District 6. I don't know, he just popped up on my mind and I really want to use him. It's a messed up character)

"And have you got someone in mind for that?" Trent asked. Because he actually didn't. Almost every Rebel on District 2 had been born and raised at District 2. Except for a few. . . Exceptions. Now, he really couldn't think of any of them who would fit that description.

"Yeah, well you never know who to trust" Nate said as he was shoved of off Aaly, stuffing his hands into his pockets

"Stop making an enemy out of even your comrades you jacka**" Aaly rolled her eyes, exasperated "We have to find out who did it. Don't know if she'd tell us so willingly though. She said she would give me information I needed if I gave her the chips but I don't really trust her"
