Fantasy Of A Feather (1x1 18+) Rayvin and Saffron_Majesty)

Ophelia felt her face get warm at his remarks as soon as he opened the door. “Th-thank you.. it’s nothing though, they’re just feathers..” she downplayed his remarks and nearly hid behind her wings. She returned to his next questions quickly, hopefully moving on from her appearance.

“I’m alright and I slept a lot.” She admitted as she smoothed lit her blanket.

Silas chuckled at Ophelia's embarassment and conversation tactics. "So. We need to start covering some ground and I need to get to know you better." Silas said writing on his clipboard. "If your comfortable id like to ask you questions about your childhood and such." Silas said lloking up at the harpy for permission.

She nodded at him with a deep breath. He was so direct and to the point. Ophelia yawned and settled into her now nest of pillows. Her hair looked a lot smoother and brushed out now. The length went down to just above her shoulders and got a little shorter in the back. She gently scratched a little itch on her neck around the wound. There was a slight swallow as she waited for his questions.

"Sorry for the directness, I've learned that it's better to be up front." Silas explained. "Where were you born?" Silas asked, looking up from gis clipboard.

She paused for a moment as a thought came through her head. Silas seemed very different than he was 24 hours ago.. She shook her head internally to focus on his question. "Three Forks, Montana."

Silas nodded. "Did you go through school?" He asked writing on his clipboard. Silas looked up, his attention caught momentarily by Ophelia's colorful feathers.

"Home-schooled mostly." The fidget cube he gave her was in her hand and she was slowly starting to turn it in her palm. Her expression was still calm though. Her feet shifted a little as she anticipated his next question.

"I see." Silas said, dutifully writing on his clipboard. "I only ask thos so that we know whether or not to expand our watch list. Did you have siblings?" Silas asked looking up.

She shook her head and watched his hands. She seemed a little indifferent now. Perhaps she was simply tired.

The nurse, whose name was Amelia, knocked on the door softly. "Come in.." Ophelia spoke up but her voice still sounded hushed. The door opened and the breakfast cart came in first. When Amelia saw Silas against the wall she stopped. "Oh! Sorry, I'll make it quick." She brought a tray over for Ophelia whose expression lit up as it laid by her bed. "The cafeteria thought you might like those."

On her plate there were three, large figs that had been sliced in halves along with eggs and toast. “Th-thank you!" Ophelia's expression was the most happy they had seen so far. "Enjoy." Amelia said as she left with a smile. Ophelia didn't wait to grab one and take a bite out of one. Her eyes closed as she chewed. She was nearly reveling in it before she brought her eyes back to Silas.

Silas put his clipboard in his lap and watched the exchange with a grin. When Ophelia finally turned to him fig juice was all over her face and running down her hands. "You know, figs are a messy business, but I'm not sure I've seen anyone make that much of a mess." Silas noted with a chuckle. Amelia giggled and made her way to the door. "I assume based off of this that figs are your favorite food huh?" Silas asked smiling

She nodded hastily and but the rest of the half in her mouth. It stuffed the inside of her left cheek while she chewed. When Silas mentioned the mess she was making she looked a bit worried about it now. She wouldn't have even noticed until after she was done. A napkin was taken from her tray and she rushed wiping off her hands and face. There was a slight clearing of her throat to avoid choking on the half before she finished her first fig.

"Its okay. There's no shame. Everyhting you liked or loved had been taken from you for a long time. I had a similar reaction when I was first saved. I am a carnivore after all. I'll have to say at at four pounds of bacon." Silas said rubbing his chin. "Oh it was atleast seven you beast." Amelia shouted into the room as she passed by, carrying bed spreads. Silas chuckled.

She continued to eat her breakfast with slight reservation. Her plate was cleaned of all food in a few minutes and she saved a fig for last. Her hands held it close as she munched on it, letting it sit in her mouth to soak up the soft, sweet flavor.

Ophelia finished with finger-licking the juice off and using a napkin for the rest. When she placed her things to the side, she felt content. Longing for more but content.

Again, Ophelia nodded and leaned back against her pillows. Her wings started to droop as she felt tired. Her feathers still looked a bit ruffled and some were broken. Even some of her blood feathers had been damaged or snapped off in her captivity. She shifted again, reaching behind her and scratching her lower back.

"Well i know your tired and that what you've been through is making you closed off, but its my job to help you and to heal your mind. So over the next weeks we'll be doing some exercises to help you." Silas said. "This may sound silly but our first exercise is going to be very simple. Its called twenty one questions. I ask a question, you ask a question. Children play this game as an easy way to open up. I find it works quite well. Who goes first?" Silas left that simple decision to Ophelia.

"...You can.." She paused and glanced up at him. Her eyes fell back to her the blanket over her lap. Her wings extended some to lay out on the side tables. A little burp came from her and she covered her mouth. "E-excuse me!" She said sounding a little surprised.

Silas laughed. "Good one. You'd make my ancestors proud." Silas commended. "Now, let's start this off with an easy question. Whats your favorite color." Silas asked. He hoped thT by starting slow he could establish himself as an ally."

Her eyes traveled to the side in thought. "Um, light purple.." She said softly while scratching her back again. "What is yours?" She started to stretch now, feeling her back pop and hips hurt.

"Mine is crimson red." Silas said. "Light purple is such a beautiful color. Like an early sunrise." Silas said lifting his clipboard and putting it on the table. "Why is light purple your favorite color? If you don't know then think for a moment to tell me." Silas said.

Again, her eyes trailed to the sides as she tried to think of why she liked that color. "I..." She started but she looked like her mind changed. Her eyes looked the other way.. "I think... I think because it makes me feel good..." that answer sounded so stupid! Even her face gave off a look of disappointment in her answer.

Silas could see Ophelia's disappointment. "Ophelia." He started. "Feeling good is one of the best reasons to like a color." Silas said with a soft warming smile. "Its your turn." He said.

She sat in silence as she thought of second question. "How old are you?" She asked him and relaxed onto her pillows.

"I'm 28." Silas said. "Though I feel much older." He chuckled. "If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be?" Silas asked.

Now she seemed a little stumped. She'd never really been anywhere except for the open plains and mountains of Montana and that..place. A shudder went through her as she shook her head to stop that thought. "I-I don't know.." Ophelia started to remember some pictures she'd seen in books and on TV. "Um.. some place cozy."
