Fantasy Of A Feather (1x1 18+) Rayvin and Saffron_Majesty)

The doctor on call came up to him and put a hand on his shoulder to quietly announce his presence. "I see you're being ever diligent. Is that yours?" He asked, gesturing to the blood stain on his chest. Dr. Pierce was an older gentleman who had done his service in the military around 5 years ago and took to helping those in need. He had a soft but stately appearance and a slight graying in his hair.

Silas jumped slightly from his three hour nap and looked around and behind himself irritably until he saw that it was doctor pierce. Silas chuckled. "No, that's from her." He said, becoming grave. "This one's been through tough times. One of the worst cases i've seen." Silas observed, scratching the side of his head. Sunrise was beginning to filter through the window of the hospital room. The red and orange rays warmed Silas's face.

"Yes, I've read her charts..." Pierce sympathized with him. "She's going to be in here for little while. She's got parasites and infections that will need aggressive regimes as well as that nasty collar wound and ripped tail feathers. The tail feathers information was new and explained a lot about her flight. "I assume you already delivered the testing kits to evidence." Dr. Pierce paused. "Have you eaten?"

"No kidding. She wasn't able to fly very far. That must've been it." Silas shrugged Dr. pierce off and waved nonchalantly at him. "I'll get some food when she wakes up and I get a chance to talk to her and get her oriented and adjusted to what her new life is going to mean. I also don't want her to wake up in this cold lonely room by herself." Silas said gruffly.

"I see. However it would probably be best if you got proper rest yourself. I know you don't need a lot of accommodating but it would be for the best. Not to mention we can always radio you when she wakes up. "We'll wake her up soon anyway and see if she'll eat and get her cleaned up. She smells awful."

Silas laughed out loud at Dr. Pierces candid nature. "Yeah I know I a damned wolf sittin here. I can smell her." Silas said still trying to contain his laughter. "Alright doc. Radio me when you have her cleaned up. I'm gonna go see what I can rustle up in the mess." Silas said standing up from his chair. He clapped the doctor on the back and went for some breakfast.

"Might find a change of clothes too." Dr. Pierce said in a softer voice as he left. As Silas left, Dr. Pierce went about replacing her IV bags and monitoring her vitals. They would wake her up in about 30 minutes.

Silas had eaten and gotten a short shower and new clothes. He walked out of the men's locker room raking back his long brown hair with his fingers and tying it with a hair tie. He made his was back through the mess hall and to the elevators. It had been almost half an hour and Silas was taking Dr. Pierces advice. He got off the elevator at the rec room where the ram brothers were playing ping pong. "Mind If I join in?" Silas asked them. They turned and the both of them grinned. "Yeah cap, we wanna re match from last time." They said.

Up in the infirmary, Dr. Pierce was preparing to wake up their little harpy but not before he had her breakfast here. "Nurse, can you radio Silas in a few minutes? He wanted to be present for her. " He said as he stepped back to do a few things before then. Ophelia was near dead to the world still, her body on the road to recovery.

Silas had just beaten both brothers 2 to 5 and 1 to 5 games. "Sorry boys, I guess it'll be next time." Silas said chuckling as he walked away toward the couches. The two brothers started quite literally butting heads over who's idea it was to challenge Silas. Silas just kept chuckling as he plopped onto one of the big leather futons and flipped the TV to the news channel where they were covering another rescue that a partner team had completed. "The world's a messed up place." Silas muttered to himself.

There were a few minutes of the noise from the television and a ping pong ball bouncing on the table. The elevator door opened and a nurse spotted Silas across the room. "Detective Silas? I was told to fetch you." the nurse then paused and realized what she said. "No pun intended!" She said bashfully.

Silas cracked up for a minute on the couch. "Oh that was good, though I probably wouldn't have thought anythin of it if you'd just continued on." Silas said wiping a tear. "Thank you for coming to get me nurse." Silas said standing up and trying to get a serious expression on. It wasn't a difficult task with his scar and white eye. Silas followed the nurse out of the rec room and up to Ophelia's room, glad to finally meet her under calm circumstances."

When Silas entered the infirmary, Dr. Pierce began to wake her up. “Ophelia.” He said her name gently. “Ophelia, it’s time to wake up.”

Silas walked over to Dr. Pierces side to let his face be present. He stayed quiet though as to not disturb the doctor's work.

“Ophelia, darling.” He said as he gently combed her hair.

Ophelia’s face hardly changed until Dr. Pierce rose his voice a little, nearly sing-songing her name. He was very gentle and very patient as she started to stir.

Silas took a deep breathe and made sure to keep himself from giving a big smile. She hadn't responded well to canines before, it's doubtful she would now. Silas was stock still as he watched the graceful harpy wake up from her sleep. 'wow she's pretty.' Silas thought to himself. He quickly stomped on the thought. He didn't know how old the harpy was and they were a race that was notoriously difficult when guessing age.

Ophelia started to stir and turn her head. She started todrift back off to sleep after a sleepy sigh. Dr. Pierce chuckled to himself and pushed her shoulder gently. Her face grimaced as she felt herself waking up.

“Nnnn...” She whispered softly, her voice in a higher pitched tone. “That’s it, open your eyes.” Dr. Pierce encouraged her. He picked up her hand and stroked the top of it. Her eyes fluttered gently before they opened.

Silas watched the gentle doctor wake the poor harpy from her rest. It seemed as though it had been a long time since the harpy had gotten almost any sleep at all. Not to mention what she'd been through. Silas's mind drifted to the rape kit he had recieved. He knew that there were likely more than one DNA signature in the envelope. Though he had declined to look, as the harpys shrink,.he was going to have to look eventually any way. Silas let out a very short sigh, releaseing his vengeance natured thoughts. He had gotten in trouble before for shredding some men on sight at an abandoned warebouse that had been torturing a fox cryptid. He couldn't let it happen again.

Ophelia took a shallow breath in and opened her eyes more. She felt warm... as she shifted, she felt a sting around her neck. A soft grimace came over her face as she started to move her legs and wings. Nurses were ready to steady her wings so she didn’t bap anybody with them.

“Good morning.” Dr. Pierce stood back slightly to not crowd her. Ophelia’s eyes looked around and she saw a new face, holding her hand. Slowly she pulled it away and tried to sit up.

Silas watched quietly and he couldn't help but smile a little. The harpy was gorgeous and he was having a difficult time staying serious. None the less, Silas stood at attention at the harpy's bedside waiting for their eventual conversation.

Silas hoped that his presence might do something to ease the harpy's adjustemnt.

"Easy now. Do you remember where you are?" Pierce stood and tilted his head. Ophelia looked a little disoriented for a moment as her eyes inspected what was around her. She saw the wires coming out of her gown and the IV taped to her hand. Her breathing deepened as her eyes followed down the bed. Then she saw Silas and there was a slight widening to her eyes. It was as if she'd realized or remembered what happened.

She stared at Silas in surprise before her eyes fluttered and looked down again as she thought. There was a subtle nodding of her head as she looked at her hands and the blankets. Her eyes looked as if they were searching..

"Very good. Now." Pierce gestured for her food to be brought over. "Do you feel like you can eat? You must be hungry." He said as he stepped back for the cart to be lined up with her bed. "I'm Dr. Pierce. And these wonderful people around me are here to take care of you."

She looked around with a nod of understanding but she still seemed very nervous. "I'm sure you know Mr. Silas here already. He brought you in and has been by your side the whole time."

Silas smiled widely at Ophelia when she had fully woken up and was able to look up at himself and Dr. Pierce. She seemed very nervous being in unfamiliar surroundings. Dr. Pierce commented that he had been by the harpy's side this whole time and Silas waved him off in embarrassment. "I'll be sitting to the side while the doctors check on you and get you fed okay?" Silas told Ophelia as he went to get a chair.

She realized that the sun was coming through from behind her and leaving orange stripes on the wall where it peaked through the blinds. Her wings started to tuck into her sides and the nurses let her move them carefully. There was a soft cough from her as she tried to sit up.

“There’s no rush. Take your time.” Pierce said as he stayed by her side and helped her right wing fold in. She could smell something sweet now and she looked to the tray that was a couple feet away. On the tray there was oatmeal with berries, an apple that was cut in half with some juice. Her eyes seemed to look hopefully at the food.

Silas had put a chair down a few feet from Ophelia's bed. The doctors whizzed about, removing electrodes, bringing in new pillows and bedspreads as well as food. After the harpy had sat up, Dr. Pierce had placed her food try in her lap and backed up to Silas. "She's in a fragile state." The doctor said to the detective sitting near the hospital bed. "Yeah I know, I'm just here for her comfort." Silas replied. Dr. Pierce made his way to the door. "Right, I'm sure it's just for her comfort." Dr. Pierce said sarcastically as he left the left the harpy and Silas alone in the recovery room. Silas huffed at the comment but remained facing Ophelia's bed. He sat quietly and patiently.

Ophelia didn't hesitate when she was given her tray of food. She started to scarf it down like the night before. The nurses were all a bit shocked and tried to get her to slow down. "Your food isn't going anywhere, let's not make yourself sick!" The nurse that had gotten Silas before waking her up fussed over her. She gulped her food down as well as her breaths with her wings raising up a little to shield her food. She grabbed the fruit juice and drank it down too before finishing her bowl. She made sure not to leave any leftover on her face and in the bowl as she licked her lips clean and then the inside of the bowl.
