Fantasy Of A Feather (1x1 18+) Rayvin and Saffron_Majesty)

As he hummed, the squeak of the bathroom door could be heard. Amelia was talking to her and getting her comfortable again. “Is there anything I can get you?” She asked her before she left again.

Ophelia shook her head but she did want more figs.. she didn’t want to be a burden. “Alright. Let me know if you need anything with that button.”

Silas had closed his eyes and his clipboard was in his lap. He was off in his own world, and classical music glided from his throat to the air in the room.

Amelia let him be and Ophelia watched him quietly. The song he was humming sounded nice so she didn’t disrupt him.

She looked down having been caught staring. “Sorry..” she apologized and scratched her neck. After that, she leaned back and closed her own eyes.

Silas chucked through his humming an continued his vocals. For a couple hours he ran through Pachelbel, Beethoven, Mozart, and other classical artists. After he had grown tired, Silas sat silent for a moment.

During that time, Ophelia would fall back asleep and have a couple of nurses come and check her IV bags and monitors. She slept soundly and barely moved while she snoozed. She woke up when the nurses were halfway through their inspection. “Sorry, we didn’t mean to wake you.” One whispered to her.

Ophelia looked around a moment, realizing the sunlight in the room had shifted. She started to sit up and looked over to see Silas still sitting in the corner. How long had she been asleep, she wondered.

"Welcome back to the land of the living." Silas said with a kind smile. The nurses laughed sweetly at him as they finished up Ophelia's inspection and left the room.

"Are you feeling better?" Silas inquired, standing and dragging his chair closer to the hospital bed.

There was a hesitant nod of her head to his question as she rubbed her eyes. Her movement was slow and limp. The dark circles under her eyes seemed worse but she gave him a slight smile. She watched him pull his chair closer and sit beside her now. Had he been here this whole time?

"That's good." Silas said with a smile. "Now we must return to what I was telling you before. For the moment, forget all that was said. Just look at me." Silas offered.

Ophelia hesitantly did so, seeming too tired to avoid it now. Her body started to slump.. "I don't want to.." she said quietly.

She looked back up at him again and closed her wings around her. Her wings moved achingly and shivered as they curled up.

As Ophelia's eyes lined up with Silas, he used a capability that he had been developing for his psychology works. Silas was based on a wolf and as he considered himself an Alpha, he could exercise the ability to influence the emotions of the person receiving their gaze. Usually it was used for intimidation, but Silas had figured out how to use it to bring calmness and to instill a sense of security in the subject.

As Silas gazed into Ophelia's eyes, he willed her to understand that he would protect her and that she was safe, his eyes exuding a relaxing but steadfast energy.

Her eyes met his and she went still. There was an odd feeling that pushed through her fear.. His eyes stared into hers and she couldn't think of anything else.. Her wings started to lower again until the joint of her wings rested in front of her. The heavy feeling in her chest started to fade as she stared back.

"Everythings gonna be okay. I'm here for you and I won't let anything else happen to you." Silas said, leaning back in his chair, satisfied that his position was clear.

Ophelia couldn’t look away as he spoke and his words sunk in. Did he truly mean it? As she stared, the more his words resonated within her mind. She felt a lump rising in her throat as realization hit her. If he truly meant it then she was safe..

Her eyes started to well up before she finally started crying. So much pain.. she still hurt but she wouldn’t have to the fear of what happened to the other poor cryptids... she shook her head as that horrific sight came rushing back.

"I know it hurts." Silas said empathically. "But I'm here to help you through the pain. Do you want a hug? Physical contact is one of the best ways to dispel emotional pain." Silas said, his scottish accent conflicting with his choice of words.

She rubbed her eyes and nodded. It seemed hesitant but she didn’t know what else to do. Her wings nearly closed around her though as if she were giving herself a hug. Her feathers reflected under the fluorescent lights and sunlight. Her hair fell forward into her face as she lowered her head.

Silas stood from his chair and stepped to the bed side, since Ophelia's wings were around her, Silas hugged her from behind, wrapping his right arm over her right shoulder, his left arm under her left arm hand placed his chin on her left shoulder. "It's going to be okay." Silas reiterated

Her voice got higher as she tried to keep from crying more. The bandage on her face was strained and the stitches underneath tugged. She wanted to stop but it felt impossible to stop. She remembered how long she was in there and all that happened... She shook her head again and bunched her shoulders up as she sobbed. Her small frame shook as she tried again to control herself. "I-I.." She whispered between tears, "Can't stop.." She sniffled and felt another lump rising in her throat.

"It's okay. Keep crying. The more you get it out the better you'll feel." Silas said softly. "There is nothing wrong with crying and don't let anyone tell you different." Silas said, his Scottish accent becoming more pronounced and his voice more emotional.

A single tear rolled down Silas's cheek and made a small blot on the thin harpies shoulder.

"E-e-e-" She tried to speak. "Everything-ng hurts.." She rubbed her eyes and hid her face again. Her wings closed up tighter around her and she felt Silas around her. Her hands trembled now and a couple of feathers fell to the bed.

"I know Ophelia, I know." Silas said holding the fragile harpy tighter but still gently. "I'm here for you, and every second of every minute of every day is one moment further away from those horrible things and those horrible people." He said encouragingly.

She nodded and slowly put her hands on his forearm. It would take her a few more minutes to calm down. Her face hurt now and her eyes burned.. She felt a little better? Ophelia tried to remember what he told her. The more that time passed, the further away she'd be from it. Tiredly, she let her head fall on his arm that was around her and her wings slowly drooped.
