Fantasy New World

Oh, but they are very different. You being the clerk should know that. But instead, Therese smiled and took the key gingerly. "Thanks for all your help." She walked back to the cage and unlocked it, opening the door for Rory. "Okay, we can go now. My house isn't too far, but I promised food and there are some markets nearby, easy walking distance." She stepped back from the cage to let him have some room to get out, and then began to head towards the exit/entrance of the shop. As she passed the clerk once more, she gave back the key.

Rory leaped out of the cage in excitement. As soon as he got out he stretched his wings allowing the stiff bones to ease up. He then followed along with a genuine smile plastered on his face. "Yea! Shopping! Food! Adventure!" Rory exclaimed. He gathered his wings together to make sure he didn't hit objects on the way out and towards his new home. "Thank you Therese. Would you mind if I call you Tessy?" Rory asked.

Tommy chuckled when she poked the screen of his phone, placing it back in his pocket. "I guess you haven't seen a cell phone before. I let's me communicate with people over long distances. Like my parents. Or my friends." He turned a corner, looking at the various buildings on each side of him. His own house was at the end of the street, a little taller than the rest. He pointed it out to Miya and Rosie. "That's where you two will be living from now on. Sorry if you don't like it much." He chuckled nervously, thinking of what his parent's would think. He had spent well over 500 dollars, but he could pay it off. He just didn't want an earful from his dad about it. And he felt it was worth it.

"Long....distances...Friends....parents" Miya twitched her faintly spotted tail at the miraculous device with utter curiously, listening to his words carefully. "Un...." she gazed at the rows of houses with a smile, she's never seen buildings like this. The buildings she's seen were either laboratories, skyscrapers, or village huts from her home country. "So this is where humans live?" The leopard cat hybrid asked curiously, patting the Fox's large ears as she walked.

Jan looked down at Maimu. "Oh, so you are done saying goodbye already? That was fast I must say...Lets get going home, shall we?" Jan thanked the clerk for her help and walked out of the shop. He opened the door to the passenger seat for Maimu. "I hope that she is old enough to be sitting on the front..." He thought while he walked around the car to sit on the driver's seat. "Ready to go?"

Tommy nodded, his pace slow so he didn't out step Miya. He just now realized how short she was compared to him, almost a foot smaller. He looked at the houses they passed, smiling. "Most do. Some people live in smaller homes that are right next to each other, called apartments. I live in a house, which is what these are. They can be all different sizes and colors. Mine is the blue one in the distance. Where did you live before this, Miya?" It felt different explaining something that was so common to him to someone else. He would get used to it, but for now, it was a strange feeling.

Rosie scan her surroundings as she walked with the two. She didn't like the rather large amount of buildings. They were foreign to her old life and so was the leopard that barraged her with its constant touch. She walked off in front of the two, something catching her eye and that same thing was blasting the stupid ice cream truck song.

Miya looked up at the tall fellow, turning her ears turning towards the adventurous fox "I see I see....so humans get to choose where to live? That's nice....Um....Miya... lived in an island South of Japan called Philippines....I lived in a big lab with many needles, they were trying to domesticate Leopard Cat...." she answered, half paying attention as she watched the blue house slowly grow bigger as they got closer.

Jenna let out a small yawn taking the key back and putting it in a drawer on the side of the counter. She nodded to the man taking Maimu then looked down to the counter out of boredom Why did he want to have a pet shop?

She followed Jan closely out of the shop. When she was out she looked around in wonder losing sight of Jan for a moment until she saw him next to a vehicle. She slowly walked towards it while holding onto her tail and her ears flattened on her head. She looked up at him before hesitantly getting into the seat of the vehicle. When seated inside of the car she'd look around in the inside. She looked over to the door. She grabbed it and pulled it seeing it did move closer to her. When seeing Jan in his seat she let go of the door letting it slam shut on her. It startled her slightly and made her move away from the door a bit. "Wh-What is this?"

Tommy listened to Miya, thinking. She grew up in a lab? Well, most hybrids seemed to grow up there. It was pretty sad in his eyes. They would experiment on them, like wild animals. He perked up at the jolly music of the ice-cream truck driving down the street. He quickly ran over and pulled out some spare cash he had in his backpack. He handed it to the man in the truck, getting three popsicles/ice-lollies for each of them. He waved goodbye to the ice cream man, running back over to Miya and Rosie. He handed one to Rosie, then the other to Miya. He smiled. "Sorry. I didn't want to miss the opportunity for some cool ice cream to beat the heat." He ripped his open and took a bite out of it, smiling in satisfaction. He looked back at Miya. "I see. Doesn't sound like a very nice time."

Miya watched the strange boy call down the truck cautiously. She smiled gleefully as he came back with the ice-lollies, popping the sweet and colorful popile into her mouth. Her ears shivered as the cold dessert touched her tongue "Un....It wasn't too bad! *Lick* I learned how to *lick* , to get out to the villages! But I couldn't hunt with this bell on my neck..so Miya had to always go back to the lab for food..." she sighed, enjoying the iced sweet gratefully. Miya bowed her head politely to thank him.

Jan was sitting on the driver seat and about to start the engine when he heard Maimu saying to him: "W-what is this?". He turned towards her, his face showing a bit of confusion. "You really haven't seen nor heard about cars before?" Jan sighed. "I knew that I would have to teach her some stuff about the new world, but I didn't know she was this clueless about it." He cleared his mouth before he began explaining in a way she would understand. "Basically these are man based machines known as cars. They are created with one purpose: The transporting of human and/or materials to a certain destination. Without these humans would find it hard to take things from one place to another." Jan took his jingling keys out of his pockets in order to show them to Maimu. "We place these on that hole near that circle ,known as steering wheel, in order to make this car advance." Jan placed the keys inside the car's key (((Is that how you people call it?")) and turned it. In response to this the car's engine started, making a soft purring sound.

Tommy took another bite out of his popsicle. "Well, as long as you were okay with being there." He shivered as he swallowed a piece of the popsicle, then shook his head swiftly. "Woo! That's cold. Perfect for a day like this." He took another bite and smiled. "Well, I don't think we should keep my family waiting. They'll worry about me if we're not home soon." He turned and started to walk in the direction of his home, then looked back at Miya. "By the way, I can take the bell off if you want. If it bothers you at all." He then smiled at Rosie, hoping she would enjoy the sweet treat.

Maimu tilted her head as Jan explained to her what the vehicle was and how it worked in simple terms. She moved back to the middle of her seat nodding slightly. "Maimu's been in a moving object, but she was always covered." She looked down while speaking in her usual quiet voice. When the Jan started the car it startled her slightly but she calmed down afterwards. She looked around the vehicle again spotting something next to the seat of hers. She grabbed it and pulled it. "What's this?" She pulled on the belt looking thing that had a metal buckle on it. The vehicle made her slightly curious as to what was inside of it now.

Miya nodded, perking her ears up excitedly as he mentioned the bell. The Leopard cat began trotting to the front of Tommy, striding backwards in the hot breeze "Yes yes please!" She exclaimed with her fanged smiled, quite excited to meet the family he spoke of "I want collar off, now." she mewed impatiently, glancing at the white fox in excitement "Do you speak, white dog?" the hybrid asked her companion in curiousity.

Xavier continued to sit around, glaring. He drinks a bit from his bowl, before looking around. ((Are there any other humans? >_< Or are they all inactive?)) He continued drinking, gulping down a couple mouthfuls, before putting the bowl down, and wiping his mouth with his sleeve. He curled up, closing his slitted green eyes, attempting to rest. He wondered to himself how long he'd been in this shop before they moved him to another, and realized he didn't care.

"Oh thank god you mentioned it." Jan took the seat belt and buckled it up for her. "Basically, if our car crashes this simple strap of polyester could be the difference between life or death. Many people end up badly hurt because they don't use it...Foolish people." Jan carefully pressed his foot against the pedal and the car began to move. Soon enough the pet shop where they had been just a couple of minutes ago was being left behind but before he could drive any further a red light forced Jan to stop the car. "You really don't know much about the current world, do you?....How much time have you passed inside that cage?"Jan asked while turning his head to look at Maimu.

She let Jan buckle her in but when he was done she started to play with it again letting out small giggles since it interested her. She heard Jan ask "You really don't know much about the current world, do you?....How much time have you passed inside that cage?" Maimu looked up thinking a bit then turned to look at Jan with her head down. "Long time. Maimu's been in a cage since she could remember, to be tested on by scientists." was all she said before reverting back to playing with the seat belt to keep her mind off of the memories of being in the labs she went to.

Tommy laughed at Miya's excitement. "Okay, okay. Let's get both of you home before I get an earful from my Dad." He bit off the last piece of his popsicle. He shivered again, then hoisted his backpack onto his shoulder. He smiled and continued the short walk to his home. He pulled his key out of his pocket, holding it in his free hand. He walked up to his front door and put the key in his lock. He looked back at Miya and Rosie, then opened the door. "Mom, Dad? I'm home!"

Even if the emotion was very brief and hidden Jan understood that Maimu preferred not to talk about the matter. The light turned green and he was finally able to drive off. For a couple of minutes, apart from the noise of Maimu playing with the belt, there was pure and complete silence until Jan finally broke it. "I am sorry, I shouldn't have touched that matter. But those days are in the past, and now your life will make a complete turn for better or for worse." After a single turn the car as well as the engine completely stopped as Jan removed the keys. It was parked in front of a pretty well kept building of about ten floors tall. "And it all starts here, your new home."

Rosie took a huge bite out of the sweet that she just received from Tommy. Enjoying its cold taste in her mouth, it reminded her of the ice and the snow in her old home. Following Tommy to her new home. She bit into the frozen treat with a sense of joy.
