HUNKS AND THE DRAGONS AND THE PHOENIXES AND THE POLICE IN THE CITY
Celestine had looked away for a minute, maybe two, and already Jozef had wandered off again. She knew he could take care of himself, but that didn't stop the immediate terror she felt not being able to see him, even if it was only for a moment as she spotted his mop of blonde hair seconds later. Hurrying towards him, she walked up and placed a hand on his shoulder to get his attention, but froze when she realized who he was talking to.
"Oh." This certainly was awkward and frankly, it's what Celeste had been hoping to avoid; clearly, that was out of the cards now. Scanning the area, she took mental note of every person there, recognizing a couple of them. The person who stuck out to her the most, however, was Yong-Yut; her eyes brightened, but she was careful to keep her expression neutral.
As much as she wanted to greet her friend, this obviously was not the time, as interrupting the group would be impolite. Mere seconds later there was an intense heat coupled with explosions that made Celeste flinch, covering her ears and taking a step back without realizing it. No, you cannot get frightened now, you are not that pathetic. You have to be ready to protect Jozef if necessary.
Celestine dropped her arms to her sides, clenching her hands into fists and unfurling them a couple of times before standing behind her friend. She stayed close behind him, watching the rest of the group with narrowed eyes, her expression cold.
Celeste couldn't afford to let her guard down or shy away, not when her friend was potentially at risk.
