Dragons Arc 1: Scene 1 [Rogue of the Night]
"Hah hah hah. Finally, a fellow man who understands me. There is something they call a… a video call, I believe? that allows for such face-to-face conferences. It's revolutionary, really, how far technology has come, though I still find it uncomfortable. I will talk when I wish to, and I do not want to be at the beck and call of every ring." He let the younger man continue to speak, and his brows began to furrow. So this Swallowtail was the wrong mark, perhaps. A frame-up, as they call it? From how Silver spoke of her, he doubted that she was thr one who was truly responsible.
“Oh, no, no.” The old man shook his head slowly. He could pick up the slightest hint of concern in Silver’s voice. Admirable, really. A man who cared for his own employees, no matter their profession. “Quite the opposite really. We cannot find her at all, as a matter of fact,” he clarified. His tone remained calm, but there was a certain level of solemnity in it. He could certainly empathise with SIlver. If Isaiah, Ruriko, Reveler, or his own children were considered a suspect to a crime, and they had vanished at the same time, he would be beside himself with worry. He thought to leave Reveler out of his list- she was most likely to be responsible for whatever it was she was accused of, but reserved his judgement. She was still one of those under his wings, aged as they are. He would, no doubt, still be worried. From what information he had gleaned, however, with the poison and the dead Dragon, the chances of Swallowtail being alive was swiftly diminishing. He must act quickly, but he had no idea of where to even begin. He had to continue gathering information. Though his hands itched to claw at the guilty, he couldn't act without any strong leads.
He chose his next words carefully. He did not want to upset Silver, or anyone else who was listening. "There is no need to worry about her. I am confident the youngsters are doing their best right now. We will get to the bottom of this as soon as we can." His eyes shifted towards the source of the approaching footsteps, but continued to speak to Silver, uninterrupted. He supposed he would have to gather more information as is. "Have you noticed any changes to Swallowtail's behaviour as of late? Has anyone seen her after or during the assumed time of the incident, leaving her room, for instance, or exiting the premises?"
