BACK IN THE GAME
Hitoshi shrugged towards both Charlie's and Milo's questions, indicating that he was in the dark on some details. "Only thing I really know is that it's some corpo bigwig's kid. Wanted to keep it on the down-low, hence why they hired us instead of some mercenary group." Hitoshi replied, "Discretion and all... guess we're on a need-to-know basis with folks like these." He turned again towards the building to continue waiting for their mark to arrive, and it seemed so as a girl was briskly walking towards the three of them. She was obviously very fashionable, given the expensive taste in clothing she wore but what struck out to Hitoshi as odd was that she was also carrying a *very* ugly wooden doll with her.
She stopped short several feet in front of them, taking a moment to observe them from under her expensive glasses before sighing. "I guess dad hired the three of you schmucks?" she asked rhetorically. She then turned her attention to the old rental that Hitoshi had brought and frowned as it was far below the luxury she had been used to. Hitoshi however spoke up to try to clear the air: "Ahem, yeah, that's us!" he said with a half-hearted grin, trying to bring the mood up. "Your dad, uh, asked for us."
She sized up the currently sober man with a gaze that mixed uncertainty and disdain, as Hitoshi still looked not as great as he could be. She wasn't convinced. But still, she let out another sigh as she walked past him wordlessly with her doll and entered the back of the car on the right side seating. "Take me to the zoo."
Hitoshi stood awkwardly still for a moment before turning around and chuckling, "Well uh, better do what the missy says right?" he said before heading towards the driver's seat and started the car again. Charlie and Milo also sat where they pleased in the car, either in the back or shotgun, as Hitoshi put on GPS directions to the Boustan Zoo and began the drive. Hitoshi remained quiet, occasionally glancing in the rear-view mirror towards the girl out of a lingering bit of annoyance to her attitude - but ultimately didn't dwell on it too long. Milo and Charlie in the meantime were in the car with her as she typed on her phone some messages.
