Warmer than in the Ice Age, but cooler than today.it looks like 5000 BCE was actually in the middle of a fairly warm period, judging from what i'm finding? this is based on research from scandinavia, but i don't see why other places wouldn't have similar higher temps
Your author will be just fine since Athens is close to the Mediterranean.Well, I looked again. My situation won't be great, but not the snowbound setting I thought. I am at a much lower elevation than the steppe plateau just north of me. And I'm in a hot spring. That sort of helps.
I am not starting by Athens, rather Pamukkale, Turkey, then walking to Athens ... maybe.Your author will be just fine since Athens is close to the Mediterranean.
Meanwhile, the only safest place in the Ore Mountains during winter are the caves. The problem is are the primitive peoples. I'm currently writing the author's story as well.

not including current climate change issues, most likely lol5000 BCE was in the Atlantic, not Subboreal period, and was generally WARMER than the modern period. You're looking at data from the following period...and the second one is in fact starting at year 0 it looks like?
Ah, my bad. Well, I wish your author good luck and maybe meet my author halfway.I am not starting by Athens, rather Pamukkale, Turkey, then walking to Athens ... maybe.
Northern folks Hint: Campfire.
not relevant. I am not even coming from the same year.I also have another question. What month or season exactly do our authors were in before getting teleported back to 5000 BCE? ShinGeorgeTownRaja
Oops, linked wrong one .. but they were very similar.5000 BCE was in the Atlantic, not Subboreal period, and was generally WARMER than the modern period. You're looking at data from the following period...and the second one is in fact starting at year 0 it looks like?
That's why I need clarification from the GM.not relevant. I am not even coming from the same year.
Gotcha ... I did that for my character. That's why I need clarification from the GM.
You missed one. Could I come from, say, 1995? As opposed to 2022.
I guess it doesn't matter. I remembered that when I was participating in the New Civilization RP on NationStates, they or may not have their characters come from the present day. But otherwise, you can have your character come from that time period if you want. lol
See rules 3 and 6. Lol, I think you and border violating rule 3. Rule 6 covers time skips. I’ll be working with very short skips … hours, days. Then maybe a week to travel here and there.Alright, that answered one of my questions for this RP.
All that's left is my question regarding the author's timescale of the post in IC.
lol, sort of in same boat. Mine described me in 1995. It’s been 27 years, but I added a lot of other skills. If you ever heard of the SCA, you get an idea where I get my medieval skills from. I am more scientist than engineer. Combined you and I would be “unstoppable “Alright. I guess that answered my question about timeskips.
Regarding rule 3, in my author's case, he's no longer an expert regardless of him having that skill. As I stated in his biography, he's retired and inactive from the skills for six years, and going back on track on the skills will take time. Plus, all he do is drink alcohol/beer so that's that. Not to mention his seniority age.
