Since the GM said that January is the starting month for the roleplay, for those who chose the northern hemisphere as a starting point (that includes me), we have no choice but to survive. Unless, ShinGeorgeTownRaja ShinGeorgeTownRaja changes his mind.

Well, I looked again. My situation won't be great, but not the snowbound setting I thought. I am at a much lower elevation than the steppe plateau just north of me. And I'm in a hot spring. That sort of helps.

Your author will be just fine since Athens is close to the Mediterranean.

Meanwhile, the only safest place in the Ore Mountains (where my author landed) during winter are the caves. The problem is are the primitive peoples. I'm currently writing the author's story as well. So yeah.

I am not starting by Athens, rather Pamukkale, Turkey, then walking to Athens ... maybe.

Northern folks Hint: Campfire.

5000 BCE was in the Atlantic, not Subboreal period, and was generally WARMER than the modern period. You're looking at data from the following period...and the second one is in fact starting at year 0 it looks like?
Oops, linked wrong one .. but they were very similar.

I posted both climate charts to show the changes from 5000 BCE to the present. I did learn a couple things though. The changes sync up with deforestation.

Alright, that answered one of my questions for this RP.

All that's left is my question regarding the author's timescale of the post in IC.

See rules 3 and 6. Lol, I think you and border violating rule 3. Rule 6 covers time skips. I’ll be working with very short skips … hours, days. Then maybe a week to travel here and there.

Alright. I guess that answered my question about timeskips.

Regarding rule 3, in my author's case, he's no longer an expert regardless of him having that skill. As I stated in his biography, he's retired and inactive from the skills for six years, and going back on track on the skills will take time. Plus, all he do is drink alcohol/beer so that's that. Not to mention his seniority age.

lol, sort of in same boat. Mine described me in 1995. It’s been 27 years, but I added a lot of other skills. If you ever heard of the SCA, you get an idea where I get my medieval skills from. I am more scientist than engineer. Combined you and I would be “unstoppable “
