['Neath Shattered Skies and Scattered Stars] General Discussion - Teams, Plots, and Mayhem

Mh... I'd take the Mastery. I really don't know how the Canon Infernal is running around the Blessed Isle without it, so I'm retconning it into her charm set. You don't have too, but it'll probably save you some headache.

Alright.

If there were such a thing as the White Veil Society (which is of course preposterous), how would you feel about my character being a member?

Yep. Blood Moon totems are Demons of the First Circle. Void Stalkers (My version of Abyssal Lunars) get skeletal/ghostly/zobmified animals.

Mmmmm, Void Stalkers

@Tepet Doneno What are your thoughts on the importance of the various branches of the Scarlet Bureaucracy? My character will be in the position that affords her the most influence over the Realm, what that is depends a hell of a lot on the ST's view of these matters.

The All-Seeing Eye - Knowledge is power, and the spy service is an obvious place to go for influence.

The Humble and Honest Assessors of the Imperial Tax - Knowledge is all well and good, but who pays the spies, I ask you? To say nothing of the Legions and the fleets?

The Imperial Treasury - That'd be us.

The Ethical and Diligent Interpreters and Maintainers of the Imperial Code of Law - The Bureaucracy is a well-oiled machine that is governed by laws, control the laws, control the machine.

The Imperial Fleet - The Blessed Isle is, as the name implies, an Island. In order for it to be more than a nice place to live, the fleet is the alpha and the omega.

I've tried arguing fairly for all of the above, since it's not at all clear where the power truly lies (as the good Lord Varys likes to remind us), so I'd like your view on the matter :)

Oh, and can I take Connections instead of Influence and Contacts like a Dragonblooded seeing as how I'm a Dynast?

I'd like to say All Seeing Eye, but even if you're highly placed your main power is the ability to gather information. Outright power would go to either a Magistrate or the Treasury. Also possibly a Splendid and Just Arbiter of Purpose, since you can influence Lost Eggs then.

Yes to treating her as a Dynast for all background intents and purposes.

A note to all Infernals: Infamy is your friend.

My main power is not to gather information, it is to levy that information to make others make decisions I like.

Hm. Eye or Arbiter then. It really depends on how long-term you want your plans to be, since the Arbiter will have influence over very young Lost Eggs.

Lost Eggs are nice, but they're not really an important powerblock within the Realm. I want blackmail material an favors owed from the heads of Great Houses. I'm going with the Eye.

Eye is defiantly good for that purpose.

An argument for the power of Lost Eggs though; most end up as either Monks (so a lot of the makeup of the Immaculates are Lost Eggs) or as Soldiers of the Realm loyal to the Realm specifically. While most Legions fight for a specific house's interests in mind, Lost Egg commanders tend to be staunchly loyal to the wellbeing of the Realm overall.

Yes, but Lost Eggs have no political power, so they will not get the big promotions. Or if they do, it will only be after they've been indoctrinated by the Houses.

Also, I don't expect the world to survive long enough for that time scale to be relevant.

I do hope the world survives that long.

I kind of expect us to backstab the Yozi soon as Infernals start Devil Tigering.

It also depends on the timescale I set up for the Corruption of the Blessed Isle. I'm thinking the Years route.

So, Blood Moon Lunars would still have to go through the Sacred Hunt rigamarole? Abyssal it is then. >_>

Actually- query to the DM. Could I have help/support with making my own type of Demon for an Oramnus demon, after I read around in Roll? And would you be willing to help me with doing so, @Myllinnia ? I ask because you have done so yourself, and I liked yours- I figure it's a good place to start looking, as well as the book.

I make this request because I have certain.. thematic, Ideas.

Sure. Open a chat with me and Myllinnia and we'll hammer something out.
