Fandom Naruto: Tales of Times Past

Yuka let out a long sigh and shook her head. She looked to Riyoshi, determining whether she should do what she was about to do. "I am going to get in so much trouble for this, but I do not see why you shouldn't know.." She said putting her hand on his shoulder, ignoring all around her. "I'm putting this bluntly, your body was controlled, manipulated, like a doll. You were the one who nearly killed Neji, strangled Aime and got your ass kicked by I... fine, you roughed me up as well." She said in an unamused voice, in sequence she looked to the Hokages. "Hmf, he deserved to know, and I hate curious individuals, they annoy me." She said as blunt as possible.

Kyoraku laughed as Yuka told Riyoshi everything that happened. He turned again to Fen Hai who looked like he was fuming at the children’s insubordination. It couldn’t be helped they were all a part of a much bigger plan. Something they probably couldn’t fathom.

“Yes there is truth to that. Riyoshi, you were under the effects of a powerful genjutsu. You attacked your friends and finally the user sacrificed himself to try and kill Yukashima and Neji. However, I wouldn’t hold much to it, from the looks of things, it doesn't bother them too much. Don’t doubt yourself. For this upcoming mission, you guys will have to trust each other with your lives.”

Leaning forward, he got up from his chair and headed to the door. He locked it in three places and then using a string of hand seals, the door began to glow before it faded. Kyoraku placed a seal upon it so that it could not be opened and also sealed the room so that not a single sound could be heard from beyond. Turning he nodded at Fen Hai.

Also using a string of handseals, he ended with a handseal not seen before. It was a special one that was used primary for his bloodline. Releasing the Genjutsu on the room, the light started to shift and swirl, revealing the true nature of the room. There were papers scattered everywhere, maps and string and notes littered the walls and lots of books. Finally directly behind the kids was a world view map with spots and areas marked about task forces and the sort.

It was obvious a lot of research had been done, and from he looks of it, over many years, but nothing stood out. There was no specifics on the nature of anything in this room.

Both the Hokages waited for the Children to take it in. See how their reactions were.

==========

Aimeka stared as everything changed. The room was thrashed. Notes and papers everywhere but nothing that seemed beyond the normal. She turned around slowly. Looking at spots on the maps, notes about trails and tracking but not finding anything and The only thing that stood out was a large red circle on the world map. it was south, southwest in Sunagakure. Though from as big as the circle was, it would of easily encompassed several hundred square miles.

Finally her eyes widened when they stopped on one of the books on Kyoraku's desk. Her gaze, shifted between him and the book before the Hokage's smile widened from cheek to cheek.

Neji looked around the room as it had changed completely. There were books and papers everywhere. Neji turned and looked at the world map with all the different markings on it. Including the giant red circle that was south of them.

Neji was not sure what this all meant but he was curious. He turned to the hokages. "What is with all these maps and books, and what mission do you have for the four of us?"

Riyoshi looked over his shoulder as Yuka put her hand upon his shoulder and looked him in the eyes. As he listened to her, his eyes grew wider as the information left her mouth.

“Are you serious?” Riyoshi spoke out in a shocked tone of voice.

Looking upon the group, he thought to himself for a second.

Why was i the one that was chosen to fight them? Why wasn’t Neji chosen. Neji’s eyes are better then mine. Riyoshi thought to himself.

“Are you serious! He made me attack my teammates? What the hell? How did he gain control of my body? When did the genjutsu get casted upon me?” Riyoshi spoke out.

Before his questions could be answered, Riyoshi watched as the Hokage’s began forming handseals. The room began to change form until it was a mess of papers and books all over the place. His attention like everyone else, was soon drawn over to the large map on the wall. Walking over to the wall, Riyoshi brought his hand up and placed it upon the map’s circled location.

Yuka ignored the reaction of the Hokage and looked back to Riyoshi. "Why would I lie? As you see even the hokages approve of it, I just suggest you be more careful. I don't know who you became possessed or how, but it must have been something you done. I mean why didn't he possess me, Aime or Neji?"

When the Hokage revealed the amount of books she wasn't sure how to react. She didn't hate books, but she wasn't sure what all of them were about. However her eyes were drawn to the map and she gazed closely. She looked to the Hokage and tilted her head. "What's the map for? Is this where we will be heading?"

Fen Hai held his breath as the kids argued over things passed. There was not anything any of them could do, so what did it matter. Surely they couldn’t be this dense.

Kyoraku, on the other hand could see how aggravated he was becoming so he decided to continue the conversation.

“Regardless of the reasons, the fact is this is not the first time, nor will it be the last. Someone is looking for a great power. What they plan to do with this power is unknown, but what is known is that these powers have been lost to us since nearly the beginning of time.”

Aime kind of perked up when she heard him talking about great powers, and beginning of time. Looking at all the notes for a second, she started to piece it together.

Kyoraku smiled as he could see the wheels in her mind turning. He knew she had already figured it out, but would she believe it.

The arguing became numb as her mind worked, looking at the children’s books, then at the notes. All books she had read as a child, all the places on the maps corresponded with areas described in those books.

She poked at Neji’s leg before turning back to the Hokage. “You couldn’t possibly mean...”

Kyoraku just nodded.

Neji was looking around the room as he heard the hokage and aime speak. As he listened to them speak. He started to understand what they were talking about.

Neji then was poked by aime and he smiled. Thsts the first time he had smiled since the whole incident happened.

Neji then turned to the hokages. "You can't be serious those are just children's myths right. I remember my parents telling me the stories but I figured they are just stories."

Riyoshi was looking upon the map before overhearing the group. His attention snapped from the map the two Hokage and his comrades.

"What does children stories have to do with this?" Riyoshi spoke out as he looked at Fen Hai.

Riyoshi was not sure of what was happening since he was not book smart. He never sat down to read these books, or any books really. Not even his father, whom was a higher class jounin read these stories to him.

Yuka had no idea what they were talking about, she never really did read childrens books. At the young age of 8 she was already reading murder stories that had pages as thick as her arm, children's books just never interested her. Because of her lack of knowledge she didn't say anything regarding those, but she was a little angered. Of course he would go after the 'great power', whatever that was, but by the sounds of it, it was a world domination scheme. That's all her race cared about, bloody power, why couldn't they just shut up and lived peaceful lives! Yuka shook her head and muttered to herself. "This is going to be one big drag, isn't it? Stupid people..."

Kyoraku furrowed his brows at Yuka’s Comment. He was about to speak but Aime beat him to it.

Aime huffed and blurted out, “You guys are so dense!!” With a flat look on her face, she leaned forward and just stared at them both like a moose staring down some grass.

“The stories are about the Ancient Bijuu. Once said to be the strongest of all chakra types.” She got up, walking over to the world map, she pointed at Suna, “Shukaku of the Desert.” Moving her hand to a lake within the Kiri, “Isobuu of the Lake.” Moving to the mountains of Kumo, “Gyuuki of the Cliffs,” And finally she ended right over Konoha. “Not last, but the strongest of all, “Kurama of the Forest. In all there are 9 Tailed Beasts. Each one is a guardian of sorts of specific areas of the world. They are all stories of encounters were they help people and bring peace and justice.”

Sitting back down she crossed her arms and mumbled, “It’s like you guys lived under a rock or something...”

Forming a few more hand seals, Kyoraku reached in his mouth. Making gross sounds, he started to pull out a scroll from his throat.

Aimeka cringed as she watched and even Fen Hai appeared to be a shade more pale than previously. After a few moments a 3 foot scroll finally emerged. Thank god it wasn’t covered in slobber.

Neji stood there and listened to aime yell at them for apparently not knowing about the biju.

Neji sighed "yea aime I already knew about all of this. They are supposedly true stories of people's accounts with these beast. But no one can trurly say that they exist or not."

Neji watched as his uncle the 9th hokage pulled the scroll out of his mouth. Neji had seen him do things like this before but he had never seen this scroll before. "You know uncle kyoraku that gets grosser just about anytime I see you do something like this." He sighed And waited to see what their mission would be.

Riyoshi was not too sure how to take all of this information in. Seriously going to tell us that the stories that the parents tell their kids were actually based upon truth? And why are they telling them now, and not when they are fully healed? Was Riyoshi going to be up for the task of taking on another mission so soon?

"So you are seriously going to tell us that the bedtime stories are created from the legendary mythical beasts? And If the great Kurama IS within the forest of this place, then why have we not seen this creature?" Riyoshi spoke out as he looked away from the map and towards Fen Hai.

Fen Hai looked upon Riyoshi with a slightly angered expression.

"Are you so hell bent upon your thought that they are just a story and are just going to push the thought away?" Fen Hai spoke out as he was soon distracted by Kyoraku.

As the ninth Hokage reached into his mouth and soon pulled out a scroll. Exhaling a deep breath, Fen Hai regained his composure and just looked upon Kyoraku.

"Do you seriously have to hide that thing like that? God forbid you hid it like a normal person." Fen Hai spoke out as he shook his slightly.

Riyoshi was in shock that a man of his caliber would hide something like that in his mouth. Was that truly the greatest hiding the place? What was going to be written within that scroll?

Somehow after all that grossness, the scroll was not slimy at all. Aimeka kind of stared blankly, that was disgusting to say the least. “How...how?” She started to asked them figured it was best not to before her attention to Neji and thunked him in the arm with her fist. “I know you know that! I was just pointing out the obvious for those who didn’t.”

“This is an ancient scroll passed down hokage to hokage,” Kyoraku spoke, though Fen Hai shook his head like it would never be passed down to him. No why in hell was he eating that thing. “It notes the legend of the Bijuu.”

Laying down the scroll on a clear spot he unrolled it. The paper was very old and the writing on it almost done in a fancy type of sand skrit. “It gives their name, a description on their form, their personality and their powers. However...” Kyoraku activated his sharingan. With it the scroll came to life, as if it had its own chakra. Over the name of each Bijuu was a chakra-esque model of each, showing its true form.

He knew that Aime and Yuka would be unable to see it but Riyoshi and Neji could. Fen Hai rolled his eyes. It was not as if he could see it either. Standing up and walking over he grabbed a weird looking metal tower thing. Placing it down over top of the scroll, he then picked out a small box. In this box was a marble, solid black without a shiny finish.

Aime loked at it for a second, but then kept her mouth shut. It was a Marble she had stolen from the bunker on their mission.

Fen Hai already knew this though and blurted it too the others. “Aimeka’s sticky fingers are the reason you were all targeted for assassination. Because of the events that have fallen into your lap, you will always be targeted now. Because of this, you will be going on a mission.” Fan Hai paused, turned and walked behind the desk next to Kyoraku.

“Your mission will be top secret, and its rank...”

“...Will be class S+” Kyoraku finished. He knew they would not like this, S+ class missions were usually only given to a 5 man Jounin cell. Both their faces were dead serious. There was no light hearted conversation from here.

Neji turned and looked at Aimeka who had hit him in the arm. "Really no need to hit me. " he smiled at her. Aimeka could always make him smile even if he was very upset.

He then started to listen to the hokages about this scroll they were looking at. When kyoraku activated his sharnigan Neji did the same thing as he then could also see the beast forms. "Wow that's what they look like that's incredible."

Neji still with his sharnigan activated saw fen hai put the marble down on the scroll as he explained what it was and god they got it." Neji turned and looked at Aimeka "I told you before we went into the warehouse to not touch anything and now this happened." Neji was a little bit mad but tried to stay calm as there was nothing they could do now.

Neji turned And looked back at the hokages as they said they round go on an s+ ranked mission. Neji gulped a little "so you want 4 Chunin to go on a top ranked mission." Neji was still a little hesitant about his abilities after the last fight but he sighed and said "well this should be interesting."

Riyosih looked away from the map and towards the scroll. While not noticing the two other Uchiha's activating their sharingan, Riyoshi had not activated it and merely kept his gaze upon the flat paper. This was all followed up by Fen Hai bringing out a small box. Opening up the box, Fen Hai pulled out a small black marble and Riyoshi was stricken by its appearance.

"Aime, where did you get time to pick up something like that?" Riyoshi muttered just above his breath.

Shaking his head not wanting anyone to answer that question, Riyoshi took in a breath and looked upon both Hokage.

"This is all fine and dandy, but none of this explains the fact that someone tried to kill our squad." Riyoshi spoke out to both Hokage.

'S+...' For a moment Yuka's mind went blank, everything that happened prior became irrelevant. She tilted her head, something was up, something strange was happening. Typically they would assign such a mission to a cell of high class Jounins, but Aime, Riyoshi, Neji and Yuka were simple Chunin, maybe better than most Chunin, but they weren't quite Jounin yet. Something was up with this mission, something she couldn't fathom, there was more to the mission than what they were saying. Yuka digressed, at least when she died it wouldn't be embarrassing, I mean she died during an S+ mission, even Jounin die on those. But why send them on a pointless suicide mission, could it be that they were the only ones capable of fulfilling it? Yuka put her hand on her chin and thought a moment, but the Hokages talking interfered with her thought process and she remembered she should probably be listening.

Her ears perked up and she listened to the Hokage attentively, collecting the words and objects he showed to them within her mind. However there was still a beating curiosity within her brain, 'why were they being sent on this mission.' Eventually she couldn't help herself anymore and spoke up. "Hey Hokage, why are you sending us on a S+ mission? Shouldn't you be assigning the best instead of us Chunin?" Yuka said abruptly.

Kyoraku watched Yuka patiently as she asked a good question, “But, you guys have more knowledge than you realize, and information is what will let you succeed on this mission. We have to assume that it will be of the utmost danger, and also that it requires the utmost training to obtain the information. But there are no Jounin right now that can replace you four.”

Fen Hai stepped in and continued again, “This marble is an artifact that we have been searching for, for nearly a century. You four finding it was no coincidence..”

Aime kind of tilted her head in shame, and listened. She felt as if this was a scolding of some sort. What exactly did she end up doing to her friends.

Placing metal stand on the table, he then placed the marble in the middle. Lastly he pulled out an old globe of the ancient world, before there were village lines and what not. IT was just a topographical globe of land masses. Placing his hand on the base, he concentrated a small amount of shakra into it and from it a light, just bright enough to show spots on the map, appeared.

“According to our research, this is the key to locating the Bijuu.” Kyoraku spoke in a cool, laid back tone, “The spots on the globe are the locations of where they use to be.”

Fen hai jumped in, “Your mission is to determine if they Bijuu do in fact exist. You will start here.” Placing his finger down on the first dot, it was roughly in the southern region of what was now Sunagakura.

Neji looked upon the map as the different spots in the world lite up. Neji stood there and looked at all the different marks on the globe that they would have to go too.

Neji stood there and thought about how long this mission would be and what they may encounter. Neji looked up at the two hokages his sharnigan still activated.

"So on this mission we are going to come up against ninja at the same skill level and probably stronger shinobi then one that took over riyoshi."

"So our team was attacked by someone trying to eliminate us as threats because one of us happened to stumble across something that may have just been a marble?" Riyoshi spoke out as he held onto his ribs.

"I will not acknowledge that as a reasonable response. This marble radiates a small amount of chakra. Anyone with a high understanding of chakra would be able to tell that this thing is not just a marble." Fen Hai spoke out as he looked over at Riyoshi.

Looking upon the map, then over at the scroll, he caught a glimpse of Neji with an activated Sharingan. Activating his sharingan, Riyoshi looked upon the map and seen all of the bijuu in their forms.

"That is amazing. We are going to be looking for these things?" Riyoshi spoke out as he deactivating his sharingan.

Looking over at the globe, Riyoshi seen the fist location. It happened to be in the middle of the desert. Looking back at the Hokages, Riyoshi took in a deep breath before speaking up.

"Just because we have more information pertaining to the mission, does not really mean that we are best suited. After all, Yuka and Aime are the only two of us that are fully recovered. I know that on a full sprint the whole way there, it is a four day trip. How do you expect Neji and myself to make that trip with these injuries." Ryioshi spoke out as he kept his free hand upon his ribs.

"That is the thing. There is no time restraints upon this mission. We will have you two escorted back to the hospital and have you recovered as fast as possible. After you two are on your 'A' game, We will send you out on your mission." Kyoraku replied to Riyoshi.

As the two hokage stood up and looked upon the four shinobi, they formed hand seals and the entire room returned back to what it first looked like when they first got into the hokage office. None of the maps, none of the books, none of the information was thrown about the room.

Yuka smirked confidently. "Well I do like feeling important, I could probably pass for a Jounin anyways." Yuka said in an arrogant tone as she put her hands back in her pocket and listened to the Hokage.

She listened attentively and took note of what she could expect to be doing. She repeated of the word Bijuu inside her mind a couple of time to insure she would not forget, and had a pretty good idea on what to do mission wise. She looked back up to the Hokage's. "Anyways who will lead this mission? And what shall me and Aime do while we await Neji and Riyoshi's recovery." She asked curiously.

“As far as we know, the people who attacked you were simply defending the Bijuu,” Fen Hai said, “We simply do not know. They have been gone for thousands of years, I still don’t believe they exist.”

“Consider it a recon mission. Be on your most extreme guard, be caution, be careful, and I know you’ll all be fine,” Replied Kyoraku.

Crossing his arms again after the room returned back to normal. “Are there any other questions?”

Aime just sat there quietly listening to everyone else. It would be an exciting mission, but she was not sure if the others would like it.

Neji deactivated his sharnigan as he winced in pain from his injury. He sighed as he knew he was a talsnted shinobi for his age, but after the fight he just went through. He lost a lot of confidence in his skill.

Neji looked down "well I guess we don't really have a choice so let's get this mission started."

"Well, to start everything, We are going to need to get you two back to the hospital." Kyoraku spoke out as he snapped his fingers.

Two shinobi came into the room and placed their hands upon the shoulders of the two uchiha kids. Within an instant, they four of them were gone and appeared in the hospital waiting room. Riyoshi and Neji were soon escorted back to the room they were once located. Aime and Yuka were still within the Hokage office. Fen Hai and Kyoraku took one step closer to the girls and looked them in the eyes.

"We know that you are mere chunins, but we are counting on all of you. We are counting on the two of you to keep the two boys in check. I know how unruly some of the Uchiha boys can be." Kyoraku spoke out as he chuckled slightly.

"As for whom will lead your team, we will stay here and discuss that. When the time comes and the boys are fully healed, we will go ahead and pull all of you back here and give more information for your mission." Fen Hai spoke as he stood up straight and placed his hand upon his chin.

"That's quite alot of pressure, don't flip out if we fail and come back bodiless. But if we are the only ones capable.. I guess... I can atleast try my best." She said nonchalantly looking down to the floor but quickly drifting her eyes back into the Hokage's giving them a cute, innocent like look. "I better get alot of money from this!" She said slowly and cutely, trying to seduce the Hokages to her cause and awaited their response.

[sorry, I was studying for my first final (which is oddly a week before the rest of my others) and I completely forget to post. I got 96% though :) !]

Both the hokages nodded and somehow some jounins knew it was time to come in. The Doors opened, and the ninjas escorted them out of the room and out of the bulding. Aime got up and followed.

The jounin lead them down to the exit of the building. Aime looked around as they had been in the building for nearly an hour, discussing the top secret and now they were left to their own accord as if nothing happened.

It was definitely a lot to take in. Enough that she wanted to go home, though she wasnt even sure if her parents could discuss it or not.

Kyoraku sat back down in his chair, as did Fen Hai. “They’re going to die, you realize that right?” said the 11th to the 9th.

“Have more faith. They will be fine, the boys are both full of heart, and the girls will keep them in line. I’m more worried about what he will do and what his end game is.”

======

From up on top of the Hokage’s monument, a cloaked figured, watched as the kids left the Hokage building. A smirk emerged from beneath his shielded face.

======

Aime sighed and looked at Neji, then the others. “I’m gonna go home, I need some rest and to think this all over.” Turning she waved at them and headed off before anyone could say anything to her.
