Fandom My Little Pony Frontier

As the ashes burned and formed the shape of the legendary fire bird, the faces within the mass of magic began howling in pain and anger.

Until finally the Phoenix took it's shape in glory and terrible power.

Hundreds of spectral beasts began lunging into Konton causing it to burn ever stronger, ever brighter to defend it's self.

As it's flames intensified the combinations of magic made the inside of the dragon almost uninhabitable.

Anda, the spirit of creation and destruction of this island, and Konton the ancient Phoenix of the east.

As their magics collided and struggled for superiority, it felt as though the very fabric of space began to distort.

The Phoenix and multitude of spectral creatures fought fiercely with tooth and flame.

Biting a clawing wildly and spewing fire of crimson and indigo.

As their powers reached the braking point everything seemed to fall silent.

There was a perfect silence, and a perfect still.

In the blinding light, the roar of the fires, the whole of the creatures, the very breathing from the ponies inside, all were hushed in this moment.

It was in this moment the figure of Anda as she was in her Pegasus form walked among the two pony.

In this form within a form, she was no longer the angry old crone that was destroying everything.

She was young, and radiant; full of life and mercy.

She looked all around her inner form, at the abomination she had become.

Shaking her head in sadly she walked over to Indicus and placed a kiss on his forehead.

In doing this, he was transported several meters outside of the dragon.

Turning in the silence, she walked over to Shina.

Stopping a good distance from her, she simply bowed her head deeply.

Her expression was remorseful, almost as if to show apology.

Within this bow she began to brake apart.

her Pegasus form started drifting off in small beads of light and drifting away into the frozen silence.

It was when the last six orbs had begun to drift away that they encircled Shina.

Spinning faster and faster around her, they lifted her up and carried her out side body of the creature.

As soon as her hooves touched the ground the silence and still was gone.

It was at this very moment that Steelheart finally woke up with tears in her eyes.

She began crying like a little filly, as Lavender Moon rushed back to her side to comfort her.

As she cried the magics in the area returned to normal at a steady pace.

While still attending to Steelheart, a tear welled up in Lavender Moon's eye as she commented to Shadow Fang-

"It seems our beloved grandmother as finally passed away.. "

With a bitter sense of peace and sorrow they both knew that the mad creature she had become was no more.

And that her spirit could finally rest in peace.

Outside the dragon, the creature began to fall brake apart in much the same way the soul did.

Braking into fragments of magic that drifted away into nothingness.

It wasn't long before there was nothing left but a crater and a weakened Phoenix sitting among two colors of flame.

Finally the Pegasus that had been seen in the distance had made it to the boat.

Landing in perfect formation, 6 Pegasus barring the emblem of the royal sisters Canterlot starting assessing the ship and the ponies on it.

A pony in full rescue gear approached Shadow Fang who was still with Steelheart and her sister.

Lifting his goggles, and lowering his scarf he stated " I'm with the royal rescue corp. We got word of a hell of storm out here.

Her royal majesties sent us to rescue the settlers. Are you injured? Do you need medical treatment?"

As The military esc looking Pegasus began to dig through his medical bag, 4 more Pegasus flew overhead towards the island.

Fang kept her wing wrapped around Steelheart in an effort to comfort and shield the flutter pony. As Lavender Moon spoke she looked up at her. Her glowing eyes showed traces of remorse. "I'm sorry it had to end like this . . ." Her gaze shifted over to the approaching pegasus, studying the emblem he wore rather closely. "There was a hell of a storm alright," she muttered. "And one hell of a fight..." She shifted, still sore despite the magic having healed the most severe wounds. "I think I'm alright now, though I'll need time to rest."

Indicus sadly watched the dragon break apart the sadness and tragedy of Anda's passing hung heavily in the air "Rest in peace Anda" Indicus said both in Equestrian Common and his own language. He looked toward Shina not bothering to hide his emotion from her. "I'll meet you back at the ship Shina, but first I want to check a couple things before we leave."

Indicus then left towards where the mayor last was with a sword firmly in his magic wanting to make sure that the mayor was not anymore of an issue and these events never happened again.

Thunder sighed when it finally seemed over. "You stay here. I'll go make sure it all safe."

"No, ill definitely go with you." Kadje stubbornly followed as Thunder got back on land.

"Well. We all set?" Thunder asked nuzzling Kadje.

Shina froze up when everything went silent, as if she expected something terrible, like a calm before the worst of a storm. She was surprised to see Anda's pegasus form. When Anda approached her Shina returned the bow. Once carried away her hooves touched down heavily, drained of magic from being with in the dragon. As the spectral dragon fell apart Shina hoped Konton was just as drained, not ready for a second battle.

Turning her attention to Indicus as he spoke. Shina gave an understanding nod, but said nothing. With a heavy heart she had a few things to see to herself. Walking over to where the dragon had once been Shina's fuchsia eyes looked to Konton sitting among the rubble. The phoenix seemed to glare at her for a moment, no doubt still harboring some contempt for the Kirin who had been holding him prisoner. Instead of attacking though, the fire bird's flames increased for a second before they seemed to fall apart in to ashes that fell in to a pile on the ground.

With a relieved sigh Shina slowly sulked her way over to Firecracker, hoping she would find more then just a corps.

As Kadje and Thunder Started off One of the Rescue corp operatives shoved a second one and remarked - " Isn't that Prince Kadje? what in the hey is he doing in a place like this?"

The second one only shrugged and replied- " Our job is to rescue disaster victims, not understand the vacation habits of royals."

The Operative who first spoke with Shadow Fang examined her for signs of trauma, shining a small light in her eyes.

quickly reconsidering he apologized " OH! sorry.. that's right. bat pony and light don't agree. "

Looking around at all the blood, and the fact that she mentioned a 'fight' peaked both his concern and curiosity.

Kneeling down to examine Steelheart, he asked-" You said something about a fight.. What exactly happened here?"

Every pony aboard felt a slight drop in the pit of their stomachs. They came on the information of a natural disaster. Were it not for Anda's storm, the main land may never have known about any of this.

Help may never have come.

Meanwhile As Shina was overlooking the Phoenix's transformation the 4 Pegasus that had flown onto the island had begun rounding up any pony that was left.

As she approached were Firecracker had laid she came to a bitter sweet sight.

two of the four were doing emergency medical care on him.

While it drove home the fact that this was all real, it also showed a shred of hope that was once thought lost.

If they were treating him, then he must still be alive.

The other two Rescue pony were found among the rubble of the old church where they were dragging out the body of some pony.

The pony was covered with a thin sheet out of respect for the departed.

Indicus sees the covered body and where it came from before taking a look at the body while the rescue team was not looking his way satisfied that the mayor was dead he recovered the body with the sheet and left for the ship to reunite with the others.

"Tch," Fang winced, pulling away from the bright light the rescue member had shone in her eyes. Hearing his apology, she shook her head. "Yeah, we're just a touch more sensitive to light..." she muttered before sighing. "As for what happened here, what really went down is far above your pay grade. Though the storm was still very much a problem."

Carefully, she folded her once shattered wing and brought it to her side. "Believe me though, the divine sisters are going to get a full report on what went down here." A frown tugged at her face as she recalled the day's events. Yes, the princesses were certainly going to hear about this from both her and Commander Soul.

Of course Shina knew she'd have to collect Konton's ashes before he could reignite, but after using so much magic she knew it wound be a while before he'd be at full strength again. So her attention was turned to what she felt was a more important matter. She walked through the rubble with her head hung and a heavy heart. When she drew closer however, her spirit dared to lift seeing the pegasus around Firecracker. They wouldn't be aiding him if he were dead, right?

Feeling a sudden burst of energy from this realization she ran over. "Will he be alright?" She asked quickly, not carrying or even thinking about weather or not these ponies had ever seen a kirin before.

Aboard the ship the lead rescue pony began tucking away his equipment as he shrugged and replied to Fang- " Fare enough. Not my place anyway. My job is to rescue disaster victims, and treat the wounded. "

Turning his attention to Steelheart and Lavender Moon he gave them a quick once over.

Seeing that they had no real injuries, he moved on to the other ponies on the ship.

Lavender Moon stepped close to Fang ans whispered in her ear " Make sure your royals know what happened what happened this day. "

Meanwhile the rescue pony who were treating Firecracker heard a voice run up and ask- "Will he be alright?"

At first neither turned with one replying- " There is no way in Equestria he should be alive! How is he-"

His question being cut off by the first one punching him in the shoulder and scolding- " Stix! Bedside manner you dunce."

The first pony then clarified " I'm not sure miss, but we are going to do everything in our power."

Stix then turned to face her, asking " is he a friend of yoAA!"

He jumped and shouted -"What in the hey?!"

Again Stix got a punch to the shoulder and a scolding "Focus you block head!"

rubbing his shoulder he whimpered- " B.But Stonze, "

Stozes Snapped back- " Look, make yourself useful and get the harness ready."

Finally Stonze turned to face Shina; freezing for a moment, he stared at the strange kind of pony he had never seen before.

After an awkward moment, he shook his head with a forced blink to remind himself he had a job to do.

Clearing his throat, he explained- " I'll be up front with you. Your friends in pretty bad shape. As my assistant so bluntly described, the fact that he is still alive is simply amazing . We're going to air lift him to the nearest hospital in the mainland and hope for the best."

As Stix began prepping him for evacuation, he also shot up a flare to let the other team members know they needed help.

Stonze then asked-"We have to leave right now if he stands a chance. Are you going to be ok? Do you need any medical attention? I have more team members here if you do."

As he was talking, two more Pegasus showed up and began to Air lift Firecracker.

Fang glanced to Lavender Moon before giving a short nod. "Believe me, they'll know what they allowed to happen. We aren't the kind to just let something like this slide." By 'we' she had referred to the organization she was a part of. Partly due to them no longer being under their rule, the Order helped to hold the two divines accountable. But rarely if ever did that have to come into play. This time, however, it certainly was going to be used.

Kadje was assisting in the efforts to clean up some of the disaster now that his magic wasn't on the fritz. He was clearing massive amounts of stone debris and sidewalks. Thunder on the other hand was standing next to Shina. "I'm sure he'll be alright. He be little but he be fierce." Thunder then noticed some of the other ponies seemed atleast slightly injured. he was no medical pony, but he could do bandages. may as well help with the medical team.

Indicus arrived on the ship now bearing a more tired look upon arriving on the deck of the ship he saw that steelheart was awake and fine. With a smile on his face he walked up to Steelheart and suddenly embraced her in a hug careful not to hurt the flutter-pony.

Not seeing him approch, Steelheart jumped in surprise but quickly rested comfortably in the embrace.

Laughing to herself, Lavender Moon asked- "Åh kära , är det något jag bör veta om ?"

(oh dear, is there something I should know about?)

With a hard blush Steelheart leered at her sister with a pout and scoffed "Syster!"

Indicus disengaged from the hug and laughed at Lavender Moons very well placed joke and replied with a smile, "Not that I'm aware of at least." Indicus's weariness visibly lessened as he laughed at points tears could be seen if one looked close enough. "Jokes aside I'm glad that your fine Steelheart, you and everybody else."

"I'm glad to see you're doing well too, Indicus." Fang said to him as she removed her wing from around Steelheart. She figured there wasn't much point in keeping it there if the flutter pony was going to be up and moving around.

The response of the pegasus gave Shina mixed feelings. Firecracker was alive, but nothing they said gave her any confidence that he would live. Not to mention their reactions to the site of her simply annoyed the young kirin. Of course she certainly wasn't in best appearances after every thing. Her normally vibrant red fur and shimmering scales now appeared dulled and dingy with dirt and soot. It was probably a bit surprising she didn't have at least a few scraps or bruises, but fortunately her scales acted as a sort of natural armor protecting her from such things. As Firecracker was lifted off Shina ran forward a few steps as if she might try to take off after him, despite having no wings. Of course all she could do was stand there, staring off in to the sky till he disappeared from sight.

Her fuchsia eyes turned briefly to Thunder hearing him speak. Shina managed a faint smile, his confidence making her feel a bit better. Knowing there was nothing she could do Shina turned her attention to collecting Konton's ashes, though she was still unsure what she would put them in now that the vial was broken. As she re-approached however, a small spark caught her eye. "Nani?" She said running over in a sudden panic. "It's too soon..." When she arrived at where the ashes were there was no large grand burning fire bird as she'd expected, but rather a tinny little fluffy red phoenix chick. Shina canted her head to the side as she looked at the little bird in confusion. From what she'd read phoenix were always fully grown when they reignited. Was this really the once mighty Konton, spirit of chaos and fire?

The fluffy little chick peeped up at Shina, his big red eyes looking strangely innocent and even cute. Leaning down to bring her self eye to eye with him she examined him just a bit closer. "You don't look so dangerous." She mused, even smiling a bit. The phoenix hatchling gave another peep before bouncing on to her nose, and hopping up on to one of the branches of her horn. Standing up Shina's eyes tired to look up to see the bird on top of her own head as she spoke to him. "I guess you can't hurt anyone like this... Just don't set anything on fire."

Indicus looked towards Fang with a small smile. "I should say the same to you last time I saw you you couldn't really move too much. It seems that I was not the only one to get healed so suddenly."

~ Firecracker Epilogue ~

After Practically blowing himself up in an attempt to save Shina and Indicus from the dread spirit Anda Firecracker was in critical condition.

His body broken in every way, he shocked medical pony by even being alive on arrival at the hospital.

No one knew what could have caused such damage as the first responder ponies didn't have time to ask.

It was assumed that he was thrown from a tornado, causing the massive internal damage.

For the first week no pony knew if he would even make it..

Two weeks passed..

Then a third..

Finally after a full month he was able to be taken off of life support and moved to a room.

It was also after this full month that his family found out he was hurt.

The doctor's advised they not come to see him until he woke up..

It was his way of sparing them the pain of seeing him that way..

With his condition, it was impossible to let any pony see him anyway.

Still, he seemed very alone in the ICU..

Time passed, and once he was stable he was moved to Canterlot for a better long term stay.

Still in the dreamless sleep of a comma months passed..

4...

6....

After 9 Months had passed any hope that he would ever wake up began to dim.

He rested so still and so peacefully it seemed like death had already taken him.

Until one fateful night.

His family had gathered in the town square to celebrate his birthday with a firework display.

As they lit the rockets with tears in their eyes the hopped he could at least hear them.

As the rockets blasted with vibrant colors and display, a twitch formed at the edge of his lips.

The twitch turned into a big smile that creased across his face.

His vitals began to sky rocket; He was waking up!

"No kidding," she muttered glancing down at the drying blood on the deck. It was going to take awhile to get it out of her fur too... Not to mention the new scars across her body. Sighing, Fang shook her head. "I kinda wish it didn't hurt like it did when they were being healed." Getting stiff from laying in such an awkward position, Fang slowly pushed herself onto her hooves. She was still a little unsteady, but it was better than laying around.

"So," Fang began, looking out over the horizon. "What's your plan now that this mess is over?"

Indicus sighed then made sure that Steelheart and the others did not hear, "I am the leader of the Assassins Guild, so I will have to go back to residing over that till the Sisters decided to call in a favor for ignoring my guilds activity at least as long as we are sure of the validity of the clients claims and much more paperwork to carry out an assassination without a sudden guard raid."

Indicus took a breath then continued, "I'll just summarize, the sisters have a hidden death penalty for those that do some of the worst crimes and my guild is said death penalty" Indicus laughed at the irony of it all even though he did not work under the sisters directly he still was under their hooves and it was so the princesses could conduct black op strikes or executions and say that they never would do any such thing. Fitting that Anda named him Justice.

Fang listened to him before slowly nodding. "I can't say I'm surprised to hear of them employing such a thing." She breathed a soft chuckle, adjusting her scaled wings. "Then again, I don't seem to be surprised by all that much anymore." Shaking her head a little she looked back at him. Her eyes locking onto his own. "I was hoping to offer you a place among my little family." A soft smile played on her lips, "if anything it would have offered some solace for the sisters' gaze. But I cannot force you to make a decision either way."

Indicus thought about what Fang said to him what she offered "You know what I'll take that offer, I have someone that I trust can take the guild over and he can send me letters if he needs me." Indicus smiled and it started to hit him that he just was offered a family a place to actually belong to confide in, tears leaked down Indicus's face and he hugged Shadow Fang. "Thank you what you just gave me means so much more then you could know."

Fang smile, lightly nuzzling him as she draped her wings around the unicorn. "I'll have to warn you, they're a bit of an odd bunch." She said with a chuckle as she stepped away from him. "You're good with magic, especially shadow magic. Think you can follow me through a portal when the time came?"

Moving at a weary pace Shina finally made her way to the boat, those fuchsia eyes glancing around to see everyone on board seemed to be ok. Moving first to Steelheart she threw her forelegs around the flutterpony in a warm hug. "Glad you are ok." She said half heartedly, her mind still on Firecracker. Turning toward the others she greeted them with a light bow of her head, causing the hatchling sitting on her horn to shift as her head moved. For a second her attention turned to one of the rescue pegasus, having a bit of business to take care of. "If anyone is available, I had a ship on the other side of the island. If it's still intact could someone see that it's taken back to the mainland? I would prefer to ride back with everyone else."
