Ace is mostly the way he is because of losing his birth mother when he was a newborn because of his dad and who Roger was as the pirate king and him being high on the government wanted list. He was believed to be unworthy of anything. He found love and acceptance in Luffy and his chosen family ( White Beard and crew his crew mates everyone else who knew him and his foster mother who raised him.
Eh everyone else he met) but that wasnβt enough to save Ace from himself.
