Fantasy Mrs. Evans' School for the Gifted

Welcome to Mrs. Evans' School for the Gifted!

A gifted student is one who is different from everyone else, academically or not. We welcome students grades 9-12 to spend a year ( or four! ) in the cozy valley of Reynold's Mountain. As a boarding school we offer not only core classes, but plenty of advanced classes, extra curriculars, and an athletic department larger than our swimming pool! We invite you to our school based on a unanimous decision by the student council and Mrs. Michelle Evans herself, congratulations!

That was the letter you got, if you had any non-human roots in you you were invited to this school. They lied to you to make you excited to go to this school, but every student has something in common; they are not human. They may appear human, and give the appearance of a normal boarding school but once you pass through the doors of Mrs. Evans' School for the Gifted, a new world is opened up to you.

Imagine walking into a swim meet and seeing someone swim faster than you've ever seen them, or you see a flyer in cheer actually fly, or the quarterback shreds his uniform as he barrels towards the end zone. Now, you can say all you want about the school being a fraudulent team, but never once have the students of Mrs. Evans' competed against a human team. As you can imagine, there are many other schools like Mrs. Evans' and if you're lucky enough to be one of the students at these supernatural boarding schools, you may be part of one of the best high school teams there is.

Details

Mrs. Evans' School for the Gifted is a supernatural boarding school with bloodlines leading all the way back to colonial America. This is a school where any type of creature can live in peace as well as lead a 'normal' high school life. Not all students look completely human, some have wings, horns, claws, and other supernatural accessories. The school is heavily into their athletic department and the entire school is encouraged to come to sporting events as well as take time of their own to learn who they are, especially freshmen. This roleplay will follow the lives of the students and teachers ( message me if you would like to play a teacher ) as they near their homecoming football game and travel to nationals.

Homecoming 2016

Homecoming was a time of year where almost all of the students in Mrs. Evans' school came together and supported their athletic department as well as their seniors. This week started off with a staff vs student dodgeball game, then a pie eating contest in the cafeteria, and now it was their mid-week assembly.

Andromeda Hawthorne happily made her way through the hallways as the breakfast bell rang. It wasn't required to eat breakfast, but today she had a very important game that she was not going to miss. She was in uniform, her pleated cheer skirt bouncing as she jogged through the halls to catch up with some of the other uniform-clad girls. The cheerleaders were told to wear their uniforms at school since the homecoming football game was tonight, and it was nice to wear it. Andromeda felt rather confident in her uniform. She filled out her hair a little more this morning to give herself a fuller ponytail. Her pep was high, she had a bright smile on her face as she made her way through the breakfast line, but today was all but happy for some others. Other girls on the team were worried about a stunt that had gone wrong every time they've practiced it, Andromeda on the other hand, had it perfected.

The blonde sat at a round table and began eating her breakfast, waiting for more students to come in. She would eventually strike up a conversation with someone, but not until she felt the need to. So, she sat in silence as she sipped her carton of milk through a now lipstick-covered straw.

Like always, Sorren had put ample effort into his appearance this morning, he did so because he took great pride in how he looked and has always been pedantic about how he presents himself. If he didn't take himself seriously then why would anyone else. Sorren strolled through the hallways, taking in the sight of all the students whom were excited and getting prepared for the homecoming football game. Personally, Sorren didn't really care about it but he assumed he would have to at least pretend to care since the school were making such a big deal of it. He made his way to where breakfast was being served and glanced over the available options, Sorren was usually particularly peckish in the morning and despite perhaps not looking like it, it takes quite a lot to satiate his hunger. After selecting sizeable portions of sausage, bacon, toast, and hash browns, Sorren made his way over to the closest table possible and just sat down, not caring who was on the table and their opinions on him taking a seat there. He had a ferocious hunger that had to be quenched so he blanked out everyone in the background and dug into his food.

Daniellia was up early in the morning like she always was. "The early bird catches the worm." is what her mother would usually say and sometimes she literately meant it. She opened her closet and like always, wore something casual yet formal at the same time. A loose white buttoned up top with straight jeans which folded up at the end. Her shirt was tucked in loosely and her belt was leather and brown. She threw her flats on the ground and placed them on, heading out to the cafeteria. It wasn't crowded yet but Daniel knew that it will be soon. She headed down the lunch line, grabbing a plate and keeping it small. Eat like a homeless in the morning, eat like a peasant in the afternoon, and eat like royalty in the evening to stay slim and well fed. She grabbed two toasts that was lathered in butter and a cup of coffee. She sat down at the table closest to the door so when breakfast was over, she would be the first one out and it wouldn't be crowded.

She looked around at some people, noticing some people eating rather ferociously like a wild animal. "Jeez... do these people have no etiquette?" She mumbled to herself as she nibbled into her toast. She sipped her cup of coffee, scrolling down her phone to see the local news going around the school and then around the world.

Ithamar has been wide awake for quite sometime now since before the sun started to rise, he has a habit waking up very early and would pass the time by reading, writing, drawing, or watching videos on his phone. Sometime later, he went to take a shower. Afterward, he went to his closet and changed into something decent. He put on a red flannel shirt, not tucked into his khaki pants, loosely fitted tie, a brown belt and red and black tennis shoes. To top it off, he wore a red beanie, covering the back of his head covered in abundant brown curls, which were showing in the front. He then headed down the hallway toward the cafeteria. He was a bit hungry, having woken up a few hours earlier and was delighted to go eat. He briefly looked around, and went to the line, grabbing a plate and bowl and selected two sausages; turkey, two waffles drizzled in maple syrup, scrambled eggs, two hash browns, two buttered English muffins, to put the sausage in between, cereal, and orange juice. Afterward, he sat down at a table nearby and started to cut his waffles into eight slices. and began to eat. He was looking around the lunch room, observing everyone else presented, as he drank and spilled some of the orange juice on his shirt. Though well-mannered, when it comes to eating, he was a bit messy. Realizing he forgot get some napkins, he went back to the lunch line to get some and then dabbed the spill on his shirt when he sat back down.

Celeste breezed into the cafeteria, observing the homecoming preparations and the few students in the large room. Her light pink, mid-thigh high dress fluttered as she passed, creating s little breeze of her own. Her blonde hair had been neatly curled, resting on her a little bit beneath her shoulders. Her sharp blue eyes scanned the room for any familiar faces, finding Andromeda, who was both on the volleyball team and the cheerleading squad.

Celeste hit her forehead when she noticed Andromeda's attire, realizing she completely forgot to put on her cheerleading uniform. She shook her head, firguring she would change later.

She heard the dim voices of the few students in the cafeteria, most sluggish and slow this morning. She immediately looked over at a black haired asian girl, finding her thoughts interesting. She seemed to be thinking sophisticated, finding herself above others. However, Celeste wasn't one to make assumptions.

She made her way over to the girl, still listening to her thoughts. There wasn't much in there, but Celeste mainly did this to tell when she wasn't wanted. While she had the girl's mind open, she learned her nickname was Daniel.

Celeste arrived at Daniel's table and sat down, smiling at her and staring. She jumped a little when she remembered to introduce herself. She couldn't just have a one way conversation.

"Hello Daniel!" she opened in her soft voice, bounding her leg up and down. "I am Celeste." She gave a soft smile, her pale face glimmering in the cafeteria light.

Daniel was shook by someone talking to her so early in the morning. She examined her quickly up and down, placing her phone down on the table. She took a sip of her coffee and gave a small smile as she rested her cup on the table. "Hello Celeste." She greeted formally, offering her to sit down if she wanted. Noticing that the girl wasn't wearing her cheerleading uniform, Daniel raised an eyebrow, slightly confused. "Don't you guys have a game.. or a pep rally today?" she gave a soft chuckle. Daniel admired the people who did cheerleading as they were always open to conversate with anyone and at anytime. The girl named Celeste had a beautiful and a charming smile that had the power to make someone else smile. At least for Daniellia. "Aren't you going to grab something to eat? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day after all. Not only that you need your energy for tonight," she asked after taking another sip of her coffee.

Aleks hated school, or more so, he hated interacting with school people. Perhaps that was why he was so often kicked out of schools, not for trouble making, but for refusing to interact with anyone. That particular morning he rolled over onto his side and snoozed his alarm. He hated waking up any time before noon. The ashy blue haired boy debated on staying in bed all week or getting up to find something to eat. His hunger won, and he lazily got out of bed, threw on a soft, worn black sweatshirt and some jeans, before padding out of his room in search of breakfast. One thing about Aleks was no matter how academically talented he was, he couldn't find his way around anywhere. His sense of direction was trash as was his memory for places. "This looks like the wrong way." Aleks murmured and peered down the hallway. "Well, anyway is a good way." He decided and veered left.

As more people started filing in, Andromeda decided to spark up a conversation with someone. She picked up her bag and stuffed her apple and yogurt inside, heading over to a hungry-looking boy sitting alone. Sorren? She wasn't completely sure thhat was his name, but she figured the worst that could happen is that she makes him laugh. Andromeda set her bag down across from him and sat down. "Hi Sorren." She said with a cheery voice, pulling out a thermos with espresso inside and pouring herself a cup.

Lila sat up from her bed, her hair tousled. She let out a cacophony of sounds as she stretched her arms high above her head. Another glorious morning, she thought sarcastically. Running her fingers through hair to make it look semi-presentable, she sat up and slithered to her drawers. If only they made sweat pants for snakes; she would wear them every day. Instead she settled on her usual denim skirt, a black t-shirt, and a large grey hoodie. Appearance didn't matter to her, as long as she liked herself everyone else could shove off. Of course this idea didn't always apply to every situation. Exiting her room, she made a beeline to the cafeteria and quickly grabbed a large portion of food. Lila bit her lip anxiously at the thought of now finding a seat and either sitting in silence with the judgement of all the thin figured girls weighing down on her, or trying to talk to someone. She would just have to eat quickly. The tip of her tail swayed slightly along the ground as she placed her plate on a table with a male who had a large plate of food as well. At least she wouldn't seem out of place.

Celeste answered in her mind, trying to think of what exactly they were holding today. She tilted her head almost comically and thought for a moment, before remebering. Homecoming!

The thought came to her so quickly that she forgot to block it off from going into Daniel's mind as well. The thought soared into her mind, popping open like a jack-in-the-box. She said it so loud in her own mind that it must have been amplified in Daniel's. Celeste blushed, apologizing many times to the asian girl before explaining what that was.

"I apologize for that. My powers can get a little out of control sometimes."

She tapped her fingers, nervous for both the girl's mental and physical reaction.

By the time Andromeda had came over to the table and sat with Sorren, he had finished his breakfast a while ago and had been surveying the room, judging who he would completely avoid due to the fact he felt it wouldn't end well. Sorren was slightly taken aback by Andromeda coming over to him, he wasn't expecting someone to just stroll over and strike up a conversation; he was not exactly known for his friendly demeanour. He adjusted the cuffs on his shirt while glancing over the girl in front of him, she didn't seem too bad on first glance so he decided to be at least civil. "Hi...Andromeda is it?", he raised an eyebrow and feigned not being sure about her name as to not come across in a weird or slightly creepy way. In reality, Sorren actually knew her name and most other peoples names in the school - names were something he was just good at. "How is the preparation for the game tonight going?", he questioned with a weak smile after taking account of her attire.

Ithamar was watching the people enter into the cafeteria and people talking. As he was eating his cereal, he unconsciously tapped his feet to a tune he could not exactly remember were it was from; he loved breakfast. Then, a brown haired girl had arrived at his table; sitting down to eat. He stopped his foot-tapping ans titled hus head a bit upward and examined Lila for a moment as she settled in, and smiled. Then he continued to eat his cereal; not really think much of her presence there, and wondered what is going to happen next for honecoming. He then opened his sketchbook, flipping pass the pages of the numerous drawings, sketches, doodles, notes, and poetry; to a blank page, and started to draw Lila's plate with he utensils and her heads going to the food.

"The game?" She asked between small sips of coffee, momentarily forgetting about her game tonight regardless of her tight ponytail giving her a migraine and a temporary face-lift. She smiled suddenly, nodding. "Oh yeah! I fly tonight, we're trying out a completely new stunt and I think I have it down well." The blonde chuckled and looked back down at her food, peeling the sticker off her apple and sticking it to the table in front of her. Truthfully, she was nervous about the stunt as well, mainly because she lived by the motto that if her bases are worried, she should be too. "You're coming to the game, right?" She asked, feeling somewhat stupid for asking but she knew not every student cared about athletics. She called the group that didn't like homecoming 'the downers.'

Daniellia being bird, her ears were super sensitive to sound. The girl Celeste jumped into her mind quickly, startling Daniel. She had a habit of covering her left ear, hoping that the ringing of the word HOMECOMING would leave her mind soon. "I-... I can see.. Y-You're fine though darling...." She mumbled so slightly, not wanting to be rude but not wanting to be nice. Though, seeing how anxious the girl was, Daniellia gently placed her hand on top of the girl's hands. "You're fine.. you don't need to keep apologize to me..." She gave a small chuckle of comfort. "It was an accident. No need to be nervous. I'm fine.." Daniellia smiled. "Let's just hope you didn't accidentally jumped into someone else's mind." She teased.

Sorren scratched the back of his neck while a slight grin crept onto his face at Andromeda's obliviousness, he couldn't help but be mildly affected by her cheeriness. He was looking into her eyes as she talked and sensed she was actually nervous about the stunt, he could do this because of his werewolf heritage which meant he was a naturally amazing lie detector - he listened to her heartbeat increase just a bit when she lied. "Yeah, I'm going but I'm not the biggest fan of football to be honest", he spoke in a nonchalant tone, "Well I certainly hope you have it down, for one, you wouldn't want to hurt yourself and second, you wouldn't want to embarrass yourself in front of practically the whole school", Sorren laughed softly while making a hand gesture to further emphasise the amount of people that would be there. After a second he realised that what he had just said probably wouldn't be doing her nervousness any good, "Oh, Er- I'm just kidding", he stuttered trying to backtrack and mustered the most genuine smile he could, "I'm sure you will do great, I mean you look great already so you're off to a good start...". He shifted in his seat a bit and avoided eye contact with Andromeda, not because he was embarrassed or awkward but because he rarely gave out any compliments to anyone and it made him cringe. Nevertheless, Sorren felt like in this instant it was necessary as he didn't want to already upset someone this early into the day.

@raddish

The blonde's mouth parted slightly when he mentioned her embarrassing herself. She would've lashed out if she wasn't in uniform but it was a code of conduct that she was supposed to be respectful in uniform. Andromeda instead smiled and let him continue. When he took it back the siren instinctively tucked a tendril of her hair behind her ear and smiled. Accepting the compliment with ease. "Thank you." She laughed quietly, noticing he became more distant after the compliment. She ignored it and instead focused on the original topic - the game. "I hear the marching band has a new arrangement to perform during halftime." Andromeda smiled brightly, biting into her apple as to shut herself up. She knew how bad she was in the morning when it came to talking, she didn't know when to shut up.

The hybrid didn't realise he had been holding his breath in apprehension of Andromeda's reaction and let out a quick sigh of relief when he noticed she didn't shout or pummel him. Sorren took a sip from his water bottle before ruffling his hair a bit, he almost instinctively rolled his eyes when she mentioned the marching band and held in a snicker, 'What a fantastic conversationalist...' he thought to himself; he didn't say it aloud after he just by the skin of his teeth avoided upsetting Andromeda. "The marching band, ay, I'm sure they will be the highlight of the night", he joked, "They are actually why I'm going, specifically just to see their new arrangement during halftime". Sorren couldn't help the sarcasm and a light chuckle escaped his mouth, "Now, although they are immensely interesting, off the topic of the marching band", he tilted his head and continued, "Why did you go into cheerleading of all the things you could pick?". Sorren somewhat raised one of his eyebrows to show intrigue.

@raddish

Andromeda began to feel a downer vibe coming from Sorren as she picked up on his sarcasm. She truly loved music and athletics, so when others didn't appreciate it as much as her, she felt out of place. The girl was naive, but she knew how to tell when someone wasn't interested. He asked about cheerleading, about why she was a part of it. Truthfully, she didn't know. All she knew was that ever since she was a little girl, she looked up to the girls on the team and years of gymnastics made her a shoo-in for the team. "It's all about team chemistry." She started. "In cheer, there's no winning or losing like in the other sports, it's just a bunch of people coming together to bring smiles to spectator's faces. In normal sports, the teams just get along so they can win. We actually have to trust eachother because one misstep and you could fall and break your neck."

( mentioned: @Bowa )

Sorren nodded along as she spoke until he deduced he could add in his opinion, "Well in normal sports they don't necessarily just get along to win, you have to have team chemistry otherwise the team just wouldn't mesh and consequently wouldn't play as a unit. You certainly cannot fake truly getting along with somebody", he knew the importance of being on good terms with people you were spending a lot of time around from his experience in a pack. "I'm into track so I don't really have to trust anyone that much to the point where they could be the reason for me breaking my neck", he folded his arms across his chest, "I never really thought too much into cheer before and it's actually pretty dangerous when you put it into perspective but what are your interests outside of cheer?". One thing Sorren struggled with was his curiosity, once he started finding out information about someone or something he endeavoured to find out more, "I cannot for the life of me speculate what other things you're into from your appearance except cheer so I'm compelled". The hybrid found it very fascinating to be able to spot a person and then detail everything he knew about them in his head, he always thought something like that could be useful.
