More Than One?

He walks with her again in silence, his arm back around her, and he walks past the school, not going back in there with a bloody shirt and a tired body. He knew the way to his house, thankfully, and it really wasn't far. They were soon enough there, and he walked up the steps to the front door before getting a key out of his pocket and unlocking it. His mother wouldn't be home, and as he let Valorie in, he smiled.

Valorie smiled and walked inside and looked around his house. It was full of boxes and other assorted things. She smiled, taking off her shoes. "Warm." She mumbled, closing her eyes. She then realized that she was still wearing his jacket. A small blush appeared on her face and took off his jacket, handing it back to him.

"Oh, thanks," he says and smiles, and he placed the jacket over the back of the couch before walking over to the fire place and lighting it. "I'm gonna change my shirt, you don't have to stay here, my bedroom is actually a lot neater than down here. That's not just a ploy to get you in my bedroom, by the way." He laughs and runs up the stairs, walking into his bedroom and leaving his door open so she could find it if she did come upstairs.

Valorie decided to stay downstairs for a bit, looking around his house. She stood by the fire, holding her hands out as she attempted to warm up a bit more. She smiled, the heat seeping into her skin as she sat on the floor. She could feel her ears slide out, her tail curling around, but only those two things. She smiled. This was her more docile form of her tiger as she laid down on the floor by the fire, soon falling asleep.

Kit walked over to his wardrobe, pulling his bloody shirt over his head and abandoning it on the floor. He pulls out a band tee and pulls it over his head before shutting his wardrobe and walking out of his room and back down the stairs. When he walks into the living room and sees Valorie asleep by the fire, he smiles slightly, before walking over to the sofa and laying on it, relaxing and putting his earphones in, turning on Gorillaz and playing it full blast in his ears.

In her sleep, Valorie begins to have a nightmare again. For her, this was a common thing, usually waking neighbors or pets down the street. She twitched, her ears flattening against her head. Her tail flicked in an irritated fashion, her body instinctively curling in on itself. She mumbled something, beads of sweat appearing on her forehead.

He'd been watching her while she slept, not in the creepy way, just because there was nothing else to look at. Taking his earphones out of his ears, he walks over to her, kneeling down next to her. He touches her shoulder gently, "Valorie?" He thought maybe she was having a nightmare. He didn't have nightmares. He didn't dream at all. Sometimes he wished that he did dream. "Valorie, wake up..."

Valorie felt the touch and her eyes flung open. Her first instinct was to run, so she knocked his hand away and scrambled to all fours, darting over with her back pressed against the couch. Her eyes where wide and full of fear, but she began to relax as she saw his face. "Gesus." She said, relaxing and looking at him.

"It's okay! It's just me!" He says, watching her. At least she hadn't bitten him or anything. Kit stands and sticks his hands in his pockets, looking at her pressed against the couch. "You were having a nightmare and uh... Yeah." He smiles at her and walks back over to the couch, sitting down on it comfortably.

Valorie sighed, her cheeks heating up. She coughed a bit. "Sorry you had to see that." She said, avoiding eye contact with him. She looked back up hesitantly at him, then looked back down, adjusting her position. She got tired of the floor though, so she slowly slunk up to the couch, sitting much like a house cat.

Kit smiles and laughs a little, "hey, don't worry about it, seriously." He says, and moves up so that she had more room to sit. Unplugging his earphones and connecting his phone to the Bluetooth speaker in his living room, he played the song he was last listening to, melancholy hill by Gorillaz, and let it play. "You got any musical requests?" He says, offering to change the song if she wanted.

Valorie shook her head, her feet sliding out from under her. Her ears flicked as she looked around, the music flooding her ears. She was never one for being picky about music, because she almost never listened. She couldn't concentrate with music and earphones where impossible to use with ears like hers.

He smiles and nods, putting his hands behind his head and leaning back. "You want anything to drink? Or eat?" He says, and looks at her, before getting up and walking into the kitchen which was attached to the living room with a small counter being the only thing that separated it.

Valorie blinked. "I don't want to be intrusive." She said, her tail curling around her body. She normally never stayed in someone's house, fearing that she would become a burden or a pain to the host.

"Seriously?" He says, raising his eyebrows at her. "You're not being intrusive, Valorie." He opens the fridge and grabs himself a soda. "If you want a drink, then just ask. It's not intrusive if your thirsty. Same with food." He says to her while he opens his soda and takes a sip.

Valorie's ears perked up, her tail moving slightly. "Then can I have a soda please?" She asked, her eyes wide like saucers. She was forgetting to act like a human, her docile cat side showing more than usual.

"Sure," Kit grabs a soda for Valorie and shuts the fridge, before walking over to her and passing her it, then sitting down next to her. "So Valorie, tell me something that isn't depressing and or tragic about you." He demands, smirking slightly as he leans back in his seat.

Valorie blushed, opening her soda can. "I like running in the snow and getting pet, though no one wants to touch a tiger." She said, her eyes a bit downcast, but it was a bit happier than the last piece of information she gave him.

"That's still sad, but slightly less depressing than usual, so congrats. If it's any consolation then I shall tell you that next time you're a tiger I shall pet you, and there is nothing you can do about it." He laughs and winks at her, then grins widely. "Is that all you're going to say about yourself? Usually girls'll be like, reeling of the information like they're the holy grail."

Valorie laughed. "Well you said something not depressing and that is about the least depressing thing I can think of right now." She said, her face still a bit red. Her tail curled around her body, wrapping firmly around her arm. "And the petting thing also works in my docile form, which is this one." She said, pointing to her ears.

"Oh right," he says and he pushes himself up so that he was say upright, then leans towards her. "In which case..." He begins to scratch behind her ear gently, smirking slightly. He'd never been allowed a pet before, considering his situation he'd always end up killing it or it running away from fear. He'd always wanted a pet. Not that he viewed Valorie as a pet or anything, he wasn't that kind of guy.

Valorie looked at him, leaning away for a moment until he reached his hand up and began scratching her ear. Relaxing, her head ducked down a bit, a soft and slow purr emitting from her throat. Her tail uncurled from her arm, flicking happily. She loved this feeling, but she had never had someone else do it to her before.

Kit laughed at hearing the sound that Valorie made when he scratched behind her ear. "So, you're basically like... A cat? In this form I mean." He asks her, eventually moving his hand away from her and leaning back in his seat. He smirks, knowing now that he could use that to an advantage.

Valorie blushed but nodded. "Yeah, except I do not eat cat food. But I can eat raw steak, but only in tiger form." She said, her tail brushing against his arm. She blushed darker, taking her tail and holding it close to her chest. 'Sorry." She mumbled, her face like a tomato, which was something super uncommon for her.

"Aw, kitten is blushing." He smirks again and laughs, putting his arms behind his head. He looks at her tail and smiles a little, before looking her back in the eye. "Do you like water? You know, the whole cat myth thing. And what's the deal with the nine lives thing, because I call bullshit on that."
