Monster

Caleb winced slightly and frowned, shaking his head as he closed the door behind her and locked the car.

"That's not what I meant love, I know you're perfectly capable of taking care of yourself, you proved it today when you nearly killed those muggers. My point is if you're out on your own and loose control of the wolf, being blind in that state is dangerous. Not to mention if no one calms you down then you could rampage and get yourself killed by animal control. It's not safe, Sarah."

Caleb said, his voice becoming pleading as he begged her not to misunderstand him.

Sarah frowned and nodded " I know I'm sorry " she took a step towards the theater some hair fell in front of her face she tilted her head up to him " So you smell like your parents "

Caleb stiffened and looked away turning around and heading for the trailer. "You can walk without help, right?" He asked, voice flat as he ignored her comment and focused on walking. Caleb's backpack thumped rhythmically against his back as he walked, weighted with his supplies. "Oh by the way, do you mind if I stay at your place for the nest couple nights? Just to, ah, help you settle in."

" You snuck out didn't you? " Sarah said and fixed her hair she followed him alert to all the sounds and smells she stopped and tilted her head holding the box closer she took a step back towards the car

He flinched and balled his hands into fists. "Doesn't matter, I'm here to help." Caleb said tightky, turning back atound and stopping. He noticed her step back and frowned, perplexed. "What is it?"

" Why dose it smell like your parents all over? " Sarah moved away and gripped the box till her knuckles where white

He scowled and narrowed his eyes. "We had a disagreement. Now I smell like my douchebag father. Why do you even care." He growled and turned around again, wincing as he stomped on his slightly injured leg and slightly limped back to the trailer. Caleb wished she would stop prying, he didn't want her worrying about him when she clearly had bigger issues. "We need to get back and check you for injuries, stop getting distracted."

Sarah growled back then she sat down right where she stood " Sorry I cared in the first place " she tilted her head down

Caleb frowned slightly as he arrived at the trailer, feeling guilty for snapping when she'd done nothing wrong. He startstarted to open the door then realized she wasn't with him. He spun and examined the bushes, with a groan Caleb quickly realized she wasn't there.

She'd run off again, perhaps to finiah what she'd started earlier, and now she was in danger again. Of course it wasn't like him being rude helped at all, now Caleb had gone and upset her and she wasn't listening to him.

He set his bag inside then turned and jogged back, spotting her seated stubbornly on the ground. "Get up, you need to get back to the trailer where it's more safe." Caled said with a sigh, rubbing the bridge of his nose exhasperatedly.

Sarah shook her head and kept eyes down she backed away she had been sitting there thinking of her parents and sniffled

Caleb clenched his jaw then opened his mouth to use a sterner tone of voice, but when he heard her sniffle his expression softened. He walked over and sat in front of her, crossing his legs. "Or we could sit here, if that's what you'd rather do." Caleb said softly, lightly touching her shoulder before dropping his hand. Perhaps if he simply sat with her, offering silent support, he could make Sarah feel better.

Sarah was about to cry she hid her face and broke down in tears her shouldered shook she brought her head down on the box multiple times

Caleb's heart twisted at the sight of her crying, and he started to lean forward and hug her, but hesitated. From the way he'd acted earlier, she might not want him touching her. But when she didn't stop crying, Caleb couldn't take it, he shifted so he was kneeling beside her, one knee pressed against her back, the other tp her feet. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin on her head and rocking her ever so slightly. "It's alright.. I-I'm here."

Sarah broke out of her ball shape and hugged him crying on his shoulder she kept a tight hold on the box her hair was plastered to her face

He lifted his legs up, bending them at the knees and placing his feet farther forward so he could hold between his knees and in his arms. With on hand he gently carressed her hair, placing small kisses on her forehead and murmuring into her dark locks. "You're a strong girl, Sarah, it's going to be ok. You're alright, I'm here, it's ok." Caleb said, leaning back and stopping rocking her to gently pull her hair from her face, tucking it behind her ears.

"Do you trust me?"

He asked, leaning forward slightly so he could rest his forehead against hers. Caleb's breath lightly tickled her cheeks as he looked at her.

Srah tingled smiling a bit she closed her eyes and gently kissed him then answered his question " yes, its not like there is anyone else like you "

Caleb smiled slightly, the smile slowly morphing intoa smirk as he tipped her chin up with two fingers, tilting hia head and kissing her again. After lightly teasing his tongue over her lips he pulled away, then stood, holding out his hands to help her up. "Well I appreciate that, love, but I have to disagree. Just look at you, you're incredible." He said, a cheesy grin creeping onto his face as he looked down at her.

Sarah giggled a bit and opened her eyes her grip was relaxed on the box but she still held it close she knew he would have his hand out even if she couldn't see it she took his hand and got up dusting off and wiping her face

Caleb casually slid his arm around her shoulders, holding her close to him as he started walking back. "I believe we're nearing lunch time. I brought some food with me, do you have something I could cook on for us?" He asked, the small smile still on his face as he walked, carefully guiding her through the trees and other obstaclesin the forest.

Sarah's tummy grumbled and she shook her head " I don't have much, and it depends on wwhat you need to use for cooking " she slightly leaned on him

As they reached the trailer, Caleb opened the door for her, lowering his hand to lightly touch the small of her back as a way of gently ushering her in. "I don't think I need much, I have some bread as well as peanut butter, and you also have some left over deer meat. We could make sandwiches, maybe? For that I'd just need a knife and a couple plates."

Srah nodded and went inside she paused and smelled the air " Something doesn't smell right, someone's been here...I've smelled that before " she slowly went inside and held her box tighter

(Is the unusual smell going to be Caleb's parents? Or something else? Just wanted to clarify before I posted)

(Well she hasn't met his parents and his smell is all over her place...the facts add up it should be his parents)

(Ok cool)

Caleb stepped up behind her and his eyes widened, blood going cold. Immediatly the boy grabbed Sarah's hand and roughly pulled her out of the trailer. Without a word he took off running, heading for the car as fast as humanly possible.

His palms were mpist and his bretahing fast, how could his parents have found him so fast? Was he careless in covering his tracks? Did he make a trail without realizing it? Caleb cursed and started to speed up when he was hit by a speeding, white bullet. A bullet the size of an adult male wolf.

"Think you could escaoe that easily, ey? Not likely you dirty bastard."

His father hissed into Caleb's ear as he lay pinned, the wind knocked roughly from his lungs.
