Realistic or Modern Medieval Europe

"I would probably need a place to stay till morning if you wouldn't mind?" Amalie asked the king and queen.

"No... I've been living on the street. I've been helping your people and they have been giving me small thanks." He cracked his fingers. "I haven't been asking for anything from them. I felt that I shouldn't seeing as they have been dealt a worse than my own." He picked up the bag. "Come let us walk."

Adelisa's gaze softened at his words, and she chuckled quietly, following him out of the alleyway.

"Thank you for that. For your kindness towards my people. In such a time of war, compassion is the first thing these people need. I just wish I had more time to show them care myself. My family is more focused on the war than these people." A sad smile formed on her petal pink lips, shaking her head and staring at the ground for a split second. As they continued to walk, they neared the princess's horse, Alastor, who continued to stand by the tavern. The black horse pawed at the ground with the tip of his foot, and sniffed the dirt. Catching the familiar glimpse of his owner, Alastor's ears shot up. Neighing loudly and shaking his head, he watched as Adelisa untied the reigns from the post, and led him away.

"I hope you don't mind..." Adelisa murmured to Greg before leaping up onto the saddle and slowly directing the horse down the street. She made sure to keep a slow pace to match Greg's.

"Of course. Our home is your home." Queen Eloise responded to Amalie, bowing before motioning for one of the maids. A tall maid with long black hair stepped forward, standing next to Amalie.

"Show Amalie to her room. If you need anything, let us know." The Queen said to Amalie, smiling and watching as the maid led the princess away.

"My name is Ambre. Please call for me if there is something you need." The tall maid murmured quietly, her French accent thick. Walking up the white marble staircase, the maid proceeded down the hallway with the princess behind her. Opening a door at the end of the hallway, she led Amalie into the room and bowed before leaving.

(Sorry but I have to get some sleep. Either I sleep now or am tired at work later.)

Amalie followed the maid into the room. It was very nice room. Very pretty. She smiled and sat on the bed as she put her long sword down next to the door.

John was partway to the castle when several guards approached and informed him the King and Queen would not be seeing any more visitors for the day, "especially English ones". He had half a mind to put them down then and there, but dropped the thought immediately. He was there to garner support for his cause, not create trouble. With a sign, he walked back down the bridge and into the relatively nearby tavern, passing what looked like a French princess on her black horse and the same man he had seen earlier.

"No, I don't quite mind." He said walking along side her. "So, tell me princess." He moved the bag on his back. It wasn't hard to carry, it was just very awkward. "Have you ever tried talking to your brother about ending this war?"

he runs past them into the kings and queens throne room. where he delicately places another letter. then runs in hides because he heard foot steps.

"Have you ever tried talking to your brother about ending this war?"

The French princess heard him say, causing a small but sorrowful smile to appear on her lips. She stared down at Alastor's neck, running her hand down his smooth mane.

"As you know, my brother is very overwhelmed. I have spoke with him a few times. He always tells me not to worry... That he has it under control. But to be honest with you, prince," Adelisa murmured, her icy gaze staring forward as she continued to lead her horse down the road.

"I don't think he does. I know both him and Eloise are doing everything they can. But because you're father is so..." Her hand balled up into a fist.

".. nonnegotiable, it is making things a lot harder then it should be." Slowly, her hand began to release, and her muscles began to relax. Dropping her eyes from in front of her, and swiveling them to look at Greg, she flashed him a smile.

"But please... Save your words for my brother. He can do more then I can."

"You can say it... My father is bull headed, and my mother is just as stubborn." He said following her. He couldn't help but think of a better time, when his father wasn't so interested in war. Him and his father would even go out hunting for deer. "I will save my words for your brother, M'lady." He said continuing to follow her.

Amalie decided to take a walk outside of the castle. But it didn't take to long before she ran into someone she knew. "Adelisa!" Amalie said running up to the other princess. The only reason Amalie knew Adelisa was because they were both part of the Royal family.

Adelisa nodded curtly, beginning to grow more alert as they neared the massive castle ahead. She wove Alastor around the fountain in the courtyard, leaping off gracefully from the tall horse as they approached the two guards standing in front of the staircase.

"Bonjour, madame." The two men greeted in perfect unison, saluting the princess as she stood in front of them. One of them gently grabbed the reigns from her, leading Alastor away into the stables. The guard who was left, halted Greg and pointed a sword at his chest.

"The King and Queen will not be seeing anymore visitors... Especially Englishmen." He growled, trying to keep the hatred out of his voice. Eyes beginning to burn with protectiveness and irritation, Adelisa stood in front of the guard, the tip of the sword now inches away from her forehead.

"He is a guest, by my order. Let him through."

Beginning to stutter an apology to her in French, the guard quickly sheathed his sword and bowed as she strode past, Greg behind her.

"I'm sorry for that. Our guards have been uptight lately. I hope you can excuse him." Adelisa began to say, taking gentle steps up to the main entrance, until she heard a familiar voice.

"Adelisa!"

The princess whipped towards the sound, a woman with long white hair and piercing blue eyes running towards her. A smile immediately formed on her face as she recognized the woman.

"Amalie! How lovely it is to see you again! How are things?"

"Things are well. My French and English has been getting way better. Starting to learn Spanish and then Roman." Amalie told Adelisa.

"Don't worry about it M'lady." He said bowing towards the other person. "Hello." He said picking up his scarf.

"Very good! I've been learning a bit of Roman myself." Adelisa laughed quietly, the wind blowing her pink hair behind her. Motioning over towards Greg, she flashed him a smile.

"This is Greg, by the way! He's staying with us for a few days." The princess did not know if mentioning his status, especially when the French and the English were at war, was a good thing to spread around. So she kept quiet, until Greg was comfortable.

"Who's the Englisher?" Amalie said with a tone when she said Englisher. Since France was Germany's ally, They as well hated the English. She studdied the English prince. "Doesn't look like he would last in an all out war." Amalie said walking back over to Adelisa. Adelisa had to known by now that Amalie wasn't to kind to the enemy unless reasoned.

Adelisa knew Amalie would not take this lightly. Bringing an Englishman into French territory was one thing, but because Germany was France's ally, the English were also a threat to them.

"This situation seems suspicious, I know. But, you know I would not bring an Englishman here unless for good reason. He's different from the rest. He does not support what his father has done. I have granted him permission to speak with my brother," Adelisa murmured calmly to the hostile German princess.

"He is not a threat." Was the last thing she said, hoping Amalie understood the situation a little better.

Amalie smiled to Adelisa. "Alright." But then she looked back at the French Prince. "But if he plays any tricks. His head is coming off." She threatened the English Prince.

Greg chuckled at the strangers words. "My dear lady. You wouldn't have to worry about me. I do know how to behave.... Plus you could try and take my head off, but I would be to avail." He said putting the bag on a nearby nail. He left it hanging. He put his hand on his bow.

"Yeah, Your silly bow isn't going to save you here Prince." Amalie told him with a grin.

"Oh you'd be surprised." He said. The bow was made out of a very strong hard wood. "But let us be friendly." He said taking his hand off of the bow.
