Realistic or Modern Medieval Europe

(Damn it. Sorry, mates ;_; )

Adelisa watched with sleepy eyes as Greg climbed out of bed and begin speaking to man from the council. When the man had left, she smiled as Greg turned back towards her. Shedding the covers away, she slipped out of the comfy bed and pulled him into a loving kiss, before letting go.

"I will see you later." Adelisa murmured softly. She glanced towards the door, and flashed him one last smile before beginning to get dressed. Pulling a white dress over her body, the princess walked towards the window and stared out into the dawning of the day. The corners of her lips began to pull up, forming into a smile. Greg and her were to announce their engagement today. To the world. Her blue eyes grew sad, wondering how Leon was doing. It had been a few weeks or so since her incident.

( 's alright.)

Greg walked out of his and Adelisa's room following his chief war advisor to a small room with a bunch of men huddled around a giant war map. There were pieces on the map that were representing france, along with some that were representing germany, and spain. "Good evening gentleman." He said as he stood at the head of the table. "Why have you all called this meeting."

"We're sorry m'lord. But we have news that their is a threat to the north that seeks to destroy us. They are barbarians that seek to plunder anything and everything. We must prepare for war." An older man said.

Greg took a moment to think.
"I don't think calling for a war would be the best thing right now. We just finished a war with France and our moral is down... We could bring this up with another country. Germany is known for their skilled warriors and fighting prous. Maybe I could ask them for assistance, and form an alliance.... But we need a member of the Royal family to be present and I know non." He thought for a second. "I will ask Adelisa if she can get me an audience with a german royal family member."

All the men nodded. "Then we shall seek out aid from germany."One said as they all nodded in agreement.

Greg left the council room looking for Adelisa.

After Adelisa was done getting dressed, she gripped the handle of the door and twisted it open. She stepped out into the castle's hallway, jumping out of the way for a passing maid. Descending down the stairway to the second floor, she greeted a few maids who bowed to her. Beginning to explore the castle, Adelisa turned down the main hall, and bumped straight into Greg. Her eyes widened with surprise, and she laughed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't see you, amour."

"It's quite alright Mon cher. In fact I was looking for you." He said as he put his arm around her. "You wouldn't happen to know any members of the royal german family. We have a problem to the north and I fear that my Country is not ready for another war yet."

Adelisa smiled slightly as he put his arm around her. But the princess's eyes grew concerned. Something must be going on.

"Amalie... She's the princess of the King and Queen of Germany... But.. The last time I saw her was back at my brother's castle, renewing Germany's vows with France. Why? Is something going on?" She asked, worry dawning on her expression.

Greg sighed. "I had a dream last night that there was a tribe of barbarians to the north that was preparing for war... It has come true. After our war with france, I don't think that my country man will be able to fight another just yet. I was hoping that maybe Germany would mind aiding us."

"I need to speak with Amalie then... The Germans and the French are very close allies. Now that the war is over between England and France, I'm sure Amalie's family would be willing to help." Adelisa said to the English king, turning towards him fully now. She flashed him a warm smile. Since Adelisa was still a princess, there was not much she could say or do in this matter. Leon and Amalie's father are the ones that made the big decisions. Adelisa and Amalie are the ones who stand by and watch. That's what princes and princess's do.

Thinking about this, a sad smile formed on her lips, and the princess found herself pulling away slightly.

"I'll... have to write my brother a letter to see if Amalie is still at the castle."

A warm smile came across Gregory's face. "Tell him about the good news as well. He is your brother and should be allowed to know that his little sister is getting married." Greg believed that family was very important. "Plus ask him to join us here. There is many things that we must discuss."

(I'm just gonna have Amalie wake up in the castle.)

Amalie woke up after a long slumber caused by the poison that the assassin had on his blade. Thankfully the poison didn't kill her. Or Germany wold have seen that one of their princesses died in France at the castle. That wouldn't have looked good. Amalie woke up in a bed. She walked out of the room after grabbing her stuff. She walked down the stairs in the castle. "Where is everyone?" She asked herself.

The princess nodded curtly, a bit of her silky pink hair falling in front of her eyes. She pushed it back behind her ear, and forced a small smile towards the king.

"I'll make sure to tell him. I know he'll be happy to hear the news." Adelisa stood on her tiptoes for a moment and kissed Greg's cheek softly, before wandering back down the hallway. She quickly ran up the stairs into their room and sat down at the desk. The princess began writing immediately:

"Dear brother,

It's been awhile. I haven't seen you since I left. I know you are no longer mad, because that's the kind of person you are. But I wanted to say I am sorry for what I had done. It caused my family great panic... I wanted to let you know that I am safe and with Greg at his castle.

I have wonderful news to share with you as well. Greg and I are engaged! We both want you to come to the castle soon! And make sure to bring Amalie with you. Greg needs to speak to her. Please write me back soon if you can.

Sincerely,

Your little sister"

Adelisa set down the speckled owl quill onto the desk, staring down at the letter she had recently written. Letting out a sharp exhale from her nose, the princess folded the letter into an envelope. She stepped out of the room, handed it to one of the servants to deliver, and began to look for Greg. Adelisa walked down the large royal hallway slowly, glancing around and finally taking in her surroundings. A familiar figure caught her eye. She smiled warmly and strode towards Greg. His back was to her, until she ran a hand across his arm to alert him of her presence.

"The letter is written and ready to be delivered." She murmured, meeting his gaze.

Gregory felt someone run their hand across his arm. He looked over his shoulder to see Adelisa. "That is good Mon Cher." He called over a runner. "My boy, I ask that you deliver this letter to the king of France, and to make it quick. There is much to do an little time to do it." He said as the runner took the message from Adelisa and turned around and made his way out of the keep. "He will receive your message in a couple of days. For now all we can do is wait." He said as he walked out into the garden. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and the air was crisp. "Are you happy that we engaged?" Greg said as he walked past the rose bushes. He was just thinking, and it was a thought that had just come to his mind.

The letter gently slipped out of Adelisa's delicate fingers, and into the messengers grip. She watched him with her icy blue eyes as he disappeared out the castle entrance. Drifting her gaze towards the ground, she was lost in her thoughts for a moment. Until Greg spoke. The princess jolted a bit and smiled at his words, beginning to follow him out into the beautiful rose garden. He asked about there engagement and if she was happy about it. Adelisa chuckled in amusement and entwined her hand with his.

"I'm the happiest woman in the world, monsieur. Why? Are you having doubts?" The princess said with an amused tone in her voice. She side glanced at him.

"No I am fine, I was wondering if you were happy with it... You'll be away from your family. I just wanted to make sure you were happy." He said as he looked out at the people in the market. He looked at Adelisa. "I hope your brother takes it well... Plus I must return his sword." he said with the sword still on his hip. (time skip?)
