Mines in the same boat there, but I think having us non-humanoid mechs in the mix gives us nice variety, for example in hoping to get a chance to basically use mine as a tank and follow around the infantry while everyone else deals with 'hero' style 1v1 fights

Why not both? Go Gurren lagen or voltron style and have sub mechs to combine with to make a larger humanoid version? You could have it all! -greedy eyes-

Right now I'm a bit upset that everyone has these, human like mechs, and mine's a military hand-me-down...I might change it if I find one that is better than it, because mine won't stand a chance if someone grabs it.

You could have a could have a cool scene where some mook machine grabs you and then you like ram it and smash the cockpit then angle your guns so that you shred it apart while it stumbles back. Plus like I keep saying, upgrades are a big part of the kinds of stories, machines are improved or destroyed and replaced with better ones all the time. So if you really want to, we can easily arrange for you to replace your machine soon.


Although I do agree with Tierax that having the machines be different creates a cool kind of dichotomy.

I finished watching the series like, not even a month ago. So I absolutely love the EVAs right about now. I just didn't want to be the guy who stood out with an EVA, so I went against it

Remember even units that don't get replaced get upgraded, expansion packs, better weapons, etc.

Also, Eva is short for "Evangelion" it's a living mech that's basically a giant monster shacked in armor. Google "Evangelion" when you get the chance.

If you want you can still switch to an Eva, since you're both tied to the colonies we could use the organic Mecha to build some mystery around the colonies and maybe start interwieving them to either the Kaiju or the invaders.

Also, I wanted to use roux to show off the civilian mechs of the world, all modified for combat, flesh out that side of this world you know? Give a nice clear distinction between my scrap yard underdog and the other experimental top of the line mechas.

Just want to reiterate for anyone who may have missed it the first time, but there is an open casting call for Ship Captains and Crew members. We don't have to fill every seat on every ship but it'll help flesh things out and might make any battles involving the ships themselves carry just a little bit more weight.


Also concerning the creation of characters, I've noticed a lot of our characters tend to lean towards the "stern professional" archetype. While this isn't a bad thing and I'm certainly not going to make anyone change anything based on this it might be worth taking into account for future reference. It might make character interactions a bit more interesting if we have just a few wierdos thrown into the bunch, but I leave it all up to your discretion on that.

I call zany Mechanic. Maybe an Aussie or a Kiwi. Maybe Eastern European.


Also, noted on the battle-hardened archetype overkill. I'll ratchet up the good ol' boy aspects.
