Mecha RP: Legend of M

As a side thing, I'm starting up a section in the overview Tab called the compendium.

The first section is up with a bit of stuff on the different mecha starting with Jousts, Variable Fighters like Fox's machine, and the Jaegers. So if you got any interest go ahead and read through that when you get the chance. If you don't like what I wrote on your thing let me know and we can talk about it and change it. If you aren't already in, throw some ideas at me and I'll put them in.

Next section will be on monsters, followed by factions.

[QUOTE="dr xenon]Still room for one more? This looks fun!

Yep. Still open. We're trying to finish up this fight were in at the moment, so you might have to wait a little bit, but you can still post a character sheet and it shouldn't be more than a few more posts til we're clear.

Yes that post was directed to you. the whole user tag thing is new to me
Whatever dialogue we had would be inaudible to you, since we're on a private channel. At least I believe we're on a private channel, if I'm following my posts right. @Lunartic , did you join their public channel?

If we are on a private channel, all you would see is her Jaeger defending EXEA @Foxora

@HEATS this rp seems quite nice, i never watched gundam before but i have some knowledge of mechas.... i have read the story on the first page in the main tab, and to say, how tall are these "kaiju"?

Varying heights from what we've written. I've gone from a few meters to near the size of a building
well theoretically, what's the tallest and biggest that's found so far?

I've used about 12ft for my smallest, and as high as 30meters for my maximum so far
why not go all colossal titan and go 60-80 meters?

None of our machines are that big yet so the thought just never occurred to us.

It's entirely feasible though. Hell, we might wait till later in the game but there will probably end up being Kaiju pushing 200 meters by some point.

Cool. You actually gave me an idea. I might add an "approximate height" section to the CS just as a way to compare the size of different people's machines.

hmmm, then before i write my CS, would it be possible for my mecha to be over 50 or 60 meters? which by the way... is like GIGANTIC

*cough* pacific rim robots *cough*

Yeah, That's fine. Most older super robots are pushing 100 meters so 60 is easy.

Though at the moment we're still pretty bogged down in a Gundam/mech warrior esqe "Real robot setting" but we do have a precedent for more fantastical "Super Robots" (Pacific Rim, Voltron, Evangelion, etc.) in the form of the somewhat mythical Jaegers (Named for pacific rim) or Jaeger types. A bunch of super weapons from the long lost city of Midori and a bunch of knock offs built in their image after the fall.

So something either using lost tech discovered after or just built to try to mimic them could easily fit that mold.

Chart for comparing sizes. Note that 20 meters is around 10x the size of a person.

wait wait wait.... 100 meters?!?!? that's HUGE!!!! well then would it be alright to go near those numbers and... maybe 70 or 80? if not then of course that's fine, i just want to ask :)

i actually want it to be like a powerhouse, one of the biggest mechs made for huge emergencies... of course with the height of 70 meters or more, it has to be made of a heavy metal thus making the movements of the "jaeger" look like it is in slow motion, so basically it's super slow

but i suppose the massive size of it makes up for it

and also, wouldnt gundam be in the fantasy section because of its... well anime mecha shape? anime mechas like gundam have this very iconic shape i really cant describe

and wouldnt pacific rim fall under the realism setting? if voltron of course... that's like power rangers robot right there, but pacific rim still has normal humanoid shapes mostly and actually looks like its real... of course maybe that's because it was an live-action film xD
