Pshh, the proposal has always been making a discord for side stuff and still posting the important things here and pinging people on discord to let them know it was posted.

No one ever said the entire OOC should be exclusively on discord and fuck people who don't like it.
But that's what typically happens anyway.

It was especifically mentioned as something that shouldn't happen even by the people who supported the discord idea, m8.
You can only use what is typical as an argument when no specifications about said subject were given, otherwise it is just irrelevant for the discussion.

Also, you guys do know you don't have to join the discord right? If you have such an issue with it, then don't join.

Yes, because things always go the way people say they will. And I really have no idea what you think you're saying with that second sentence. "Things will be different because we said so"? That's not reassuring at all my dude.

Anyway, I'm not sure why you're so gung-ho about something that is redundant when there's an OOC thread AND your way can exclude people?

You know I pointed out why that's a bad idea, right?

You realize I don't care, right?

Gee here I was thinking we'd get Civil War revolving around something else and not a Discord.

I'm against Discord, for a number of reasons many of which have been brought up. But I'll bring up the reason of transparency. The OOC is a place where everyone can see and interact about the goings on of a game, while in a Discord the process is always a bit shadier. It is behind closed doors vs a process that is out in the open.

You do realize how hypocritical that sentence sounds when "your way" already excluded people, right? Or do you perhaps feel that Epiphany doesn't have the same importance as yourself and the one other member of the roleplay that didn't like the idea of having a discord?

Care to explain how Discord is shadier? I legit can't understand why did you get to this conclusion.

That is, unless you meant that it is closed because people can't freely join it, but every roleplay I've been in that had a discord left it open with a link in the main thread so even non-members could join in case they had questions and stuff like that.

Nice deflection, but as I already pointed out last time, she willingly removed herself from something while discord is not giving everyone a chance to participate, you can see the difference yes? So could you answer my question now?

So just because YOU can't use discord means we can't?

Some do but some don't. Those that don't are generally shadier as they talk behind closed doors without letting anyone know in the OOC how things are going, I've seen that before. Discord is also way easier to silence voices and bury opinions than through the use of the OOC. This is harder to do in a typical OOC, which makes it a more transparent option. Everyone can know what is happening in an OOC, alongside being easier to access.

Excuse me, do remind me of why you can't use discord again, please.

I vaguely remember a mention to it being because of work reasons but as far as I know there really isn't any way discord could possibly disturb you during work. I mean, unless you're specially weak willed and feel the physical need to check the app once every 3 seconds you can just mute it and check it whenever you feel like it. It won't make you lose anything since announcements will be posted here anyway (and even in the improbable case of not being posted should still be pinned in discord and thus easily accessible later).

Additionally, even if can't download the app for some reason there is a browser version who can be easily checked whenever you feel like it.

I'm really not seeing the need for insults, could you not do that? But the issue involves me having to use a company provided phone I'm not supposed to install anything on. I can use the browser so that's why I can use RPN during the day but the browser version of discord doesn't seem to work on phones.

Acting like a child doesn't make your argument any stronger.

Again, you're making lots of affirmations without giving a feasible example of how could it be done. I mean, it's not like the OOC is being closed anyway, so even in the less than likely case of people trying to forcefully suppress someone else through devious message app only means (I'm sorry if that sounds comical, I just can't imagine any other way to describe this specific thing without ever having witnessed it happening) they can just denounce it in the OOC anyway.

Additionally, if you have issues with the transparency of the server you can just make them know and the GM would most likely approve to make it public, it's not like anyone is trying to hide stuff there.

I'm not trying to convince you to change your mind so I could care less lol.
