Marvel/Daredevil Roleplay

Sable walked in the door, dressed in very child like clothing. Clothing that looked nice and casual formal, but also young. She had made sure to buy her clothes from the child's section at the department store in order to throw off the cops, invoke some sympathy. Her hair had been straightened and light eyeliner applied to highlight off her youthful features. She sat down next to Matt, "Morning." She greeted. She even was wearing a cutesy, flower charm bracelet to complete the look.

Matt nodded at her. "Good morning." Foggy looked at the girl, speechless. "Well you definitely know how to play the age card. Okay let's get started. So what we're doing today is usually referred to as a plea bargain. You tell the cops sensitive info in exchange for them lightening your sentence. Since you will probably be tried as a juvenile, and you have so much info, you'll probably get off with some community service. Which is also why Maddie is here, she's going to inform the police that you'll be working for her and fill out some paperwork. Any questions?" He asked. Karen sat in the background taking notes for their records.

"Yeah, they'll try me as a juvenile without knowing for sure whether I am one or not?" Sable asked picking up a pen on the desk and playing with it absent mindedly.

"Well the evidence would suggest you are. And since there's no record of you, its more than likely." Foggy replied. Matt smiled. "It's to our advantage." He told them.

"Cool. And since I don't have records, what do you think they'll do? Try to start a record on me?" Sable asked, "Do I have to work in a hospital? I don't wanna clean bed pans and things like that. I can cook."

"They will start a record on you, yes. A juvenile one, that'll be wiped out when you're 18, or whenever you say you'll turn 18." Matt told her with a small grin. "You'll need to give them prints and a birthday."

Foggy cut in, "we're putting you with Maddie so she can keep an eye on you. Make sure no one tries to come take care of you another way. Not that you can't take care of yourself, but Maddie could use the help and it's good to have an extra pair of eyes out. I'm sure she won't make you change bed pans." Foggy told Sable. "If you ask nicely." Matt added, slightly joking with the girl.

Sable crossed her arms when they explained about the birthday. She scowled, "I'm not giving them anything. They don't get a birthday. Not a month and day, and not a year." Sable honestly didn't even know when her real birthday was. She knew very little about herself, where she'd come from. She was found in a door step with nothing but her name. Still, in all her life she had never tried to look up her real name and search for a record because she simply did not want to know. To learn the truth of her parents, Sable would have to be prepared for what she'd find, and she wasn't.

Hearing she may not have to clean bed pans, she cheered up, "Good!" She leaned back satisfied, until extra requirements were added, "I don't know how to ask 'nice'." She used air quotes.

Matt just shook his head. "Neither does Maddie. It's a joke. You will need to give them something on you. we won't get out of here otherwise." He told her.

Foggy wiggled his eyebrows dramatically, "just give them your 'birthday' and be done with it." He used air quotes on the word birthday, trying to insinuate it didn't have to be the real one. Matt pretended to look innocent and not understand what foggy was saying. Sometimes you couldn't help someone without bending the law. He understood that, perhaps more than anyone else in the room.

"If you tell them that they won't believe you, then they'll be forced to dig into what your real name is, where you were born, etc." Foggy warned with a shrug. Matt nodded in agreement. "It'll take alot longer and dig up a lot of painful stuff you probably don't wanna know. But if that's how you feel then you can give it a shot."

Sable smiled, "Don't you think they've tried." She leaned back her chair, "They won't find a damn thing." She placed her hands behind her head while kicking her feet up on the table and leaning back into the two back legs of the chair.

"Okay which still puts us in between a rock and a hard place. You need to give them a birthday. And a name." Foggy continued, clearly exasperated that the girl wasn't listening.

"No." Sable said firmly, her arms still crossed, her stare firmly focused on Foggy's. Her light hazel eyes never leaving his.

Foggy closed his file. "Then we can't help you. Because the police will want info on you. You might as well ram your head into a wall. They will want to make a file on you." "But nothing says that file has to actually represent you." Matt added quietly. "You can use an alias."

((The police aren't just gonna take some strangers word on Piper. She could just make up a name and birthday.))

((I would think the police would know that obviously she's a street rat. Not only is she a mutant, but she has no file. These are two signs of Piper's people. Also, the police are desperate to stop Piper before it escalates. I would think they would do practically anything to get sensitive information on him. Immunity))

((Not if the source isn't at least verifiable on the surface. This is the police, the law. Yeah they would realize it but it wouldn't hold in court unless she gave them SOMETHING.))

((She's not some stranger though. She's obviously a street rat and they've had her in custody before. They know her only as "Sable". They have a file on her and everything.))

((Then why would they trust her? They could think she was giving them false info to lead them away. Even with the framing. Piper could be behind all of it. This whole city is in paranoid fear panic mode. In the series, it's all over their faces. What few clean police are left, they're trying to make sure they do their job well to put Fisk away.))

((And its not like its gonna hurt her to give a fake name and birthday. They wouldn't be able to find her and match it up again otherwise. I'll give you prints, but they would at least want a name, fake or not. If nothing else, for the secretary record.))

((Sable is a street rat. I would think she would do whatever necessary to stay alive and get revenge. I don't know. I didn't think it would be this big a deal for her to just cooperate and give a dang name.))

((It's not her personality. She doesn't cooperate and she doesn't lie. It just feels so wrong to have her do that. Like something seriously bad would have to happen to make her do that.))

((Okay I have an idea.)) Matt got up slowly and went outside to the waiting room. "Maddie." He called. She came into the conference room. Karen, taking notes, looked confused. "We have a stalemate. The cops won't believe sable unless she gives them a name and some info on herself. But she won't do that because she's sable. We need someone with a public record to vouch for her, someone who can put a name to this. It's extremely dangerous, and you should know that before-" "I'm in." Maddie stated simply. "I know how dangerous it is. Piper can target me if he wants to, I've already been kidnapped once. Not like it can get worse, and if they try I'm a lot more practiced at fighting now." She said with a small shrug. "I'll verify her story. Think the cops will take it?" She asked. Matt nodded. "I do. They're desperate. At least this way they have someone to ask if something goes wrong. But." He looked at sable. "What I'm about to say is not a threat. It's a promise. And not meant to be a threatening one. Just a statement of fact. If you try to lie to the police. If you give them false information and if you help Piper in any way....Maddie will be in grave danger. And if Maddie gets hurt because of something you said or didn't say or whatever goes down with these cops.....you will pay for it." There was a calm note to his voice. Foggy looked nervous. Karen got a chill. She had never seen matt get so serious so fast. Matt leaned back. "Maddie has risked alot for you. She trusts you and I respect that. But just remember that before you make any other deals. We can help you more than they can."

Sable raised her eyebrows as Matt threatened her, scoffing as he spoke. Her hazel eyes rolling as she rocked backward in her chair. Again, everyone treated her as a low life. She should just come to accept it, she was below them.

"you will pay for it."

The words entertained Sable in an unpleasantly ironic way, "This fucking guy." she said humorously pointing at him with her thumb over her shoulder as she turned away from his face. She allowed all four legs of the chair to hit to ground with a light thunk as she leaned her left elbow on the table, turning her body away from Matt, "Yeah, yeah, got it." she interrupted him in annoyance. She was sick of being treated like a scummy criminal.
