Marauders in Mirstone

Narivena Veulence

The conversation was over as soon as it had started. The girl had vanished somewhere during it, but it was difficult to take the attention off the quick-mouthed brunette who had approached her. To be honest, she did not quite know why she had started the conversation, but it was entertaining nonetheless. Besides, now she might have found her way off this island. Once her map was done, that is.

"Queen of the Pirates? I like that." Narivena muttered to herself with a grin as Scarlet turned her attention to the town bell. The woman was interesting, and her interest about the map had also been piqued. Sooner or later, the rumors being whispered about the island would prove to be right or wrong. Just as Narivena was about to get up and leave, Scarlet turned around and yelled the location of her ship.

"Got it!" Narivena responded with one hand in the air - not even bothering to look in the direction of Scarlet, knowing she would probably be far off by the time she gave her attention. With a sigh, Narivena jumped off the barrell and landed on the wooden planks underneath with no sound and hardly any impact.

"Charybdis, eh? Quite a mouthful.."
she scratched the back of her neck as she made her way down to the docks.

Finding the ship proved more difficult than she had anticipated. Not only was the dock starting to gather quite the crowd due to the slowly setting sun, but the amount of ships that had arrived since she had was mind-blowing. This place just got more and more interesting by the minute. She shut out the sounds as she made her way, eyes peeled for any ship named Charybdis. Her attentive ears and eyes were both a blessing and a curse. Not much got past her, but that also meant she would take longer to actually spot what she was looking for. With one hand resting on the sheath of her blade, she stopped in front of a rather peculiar pirate ship, but charming nonetheless.

"Here goes nothing.." she bit the corner of her lower lip as she boarded, her steps quiet and ears attentive for anyone who might want her off the ship. Seeing as Scarlet was a Captain with a crew based on how she referred to whoever Jasper was, the man was likely to be on the ship.

"Oyy? Anyone here?" Narivena raised an eyebrow - eyes scanning the deck as she quickly added to avoid misunderstandings: "Scarlet sent me?"

Nerissa Orta

“Q-Queen of the Pirates,” Nerissa stuttered slightly, not from nervousness but surprise. She hadn’t thought the brunette to be a pirate. Then again, hadn’t Nerisa come to the conclusion that appearances didn’t make a pirate only moments before? Giving the two ladies another once over, Nerissa decided that they did appear to have a seaman look about them. She opened her mouth to introduce herself. However before she could say anything more, the ringing of some sort of tower bells signaled the departure of the would-be-pirate queen. Nerissa glanced between the two. The orange haired lady was already jumping off the barrel and walking the opposite direction.

To Charybdis?

Nerissa had a decision to make. Stay and wait for Arlen, informing him about what Lady Scarlet said so they could go together, or follow the would-be-pirate queen to a meeting about One Piece. She took a split second to decide.

“Aquarius be with you!” Nerissa called to orange haired lady, bidding her the same farewell she would a Mirage Islander. She didn’t wait for a response before hurrying after the pirate with a red ribbon. Unfortunately, the pirate lady already had a head start and running has never been Nerissa’s strong point. She moved faster in the water than on land, an oddity that she attributed to being Aquarius’s chosen. Nerissa was panting by the time she made it to the bell tower.

Stopping beside Miss Scarlet, the water priestess took a moment to let her breathing even before her attention focused on meeting of Pirate Captains. It wasn’t a very informative meeting. No one apparently had a clue as to where the map to One Piece was. Or if it even existed. She glanced at Scarlet curiously when the female pirate let out a derisive noise and chuckle, but the brunette didn’t have very much to contribute. Nerissa had remained quiet throughout the meeting, making note of the names of the pirates—the ones that bothered introducing themselves at least—and their opinions.

She decided that she rather liked Captain Ryuu, who stopped a fight between pirates and seemed to have a level head. A game of patience was a reasonable decision, though somewhat vague. She wondered how long the pirates would be willing to wait for the mysterious map owner to show himself. Or if waiting was even a good idea. If there truly was someone trying to make a fool of the pirates, or as Arlen thought, trick the pirates into a trap, then waiting would be handing said person control of the situation. Of course, acting impulsively would do no good either.

It felt a little strange, standing among a crowd of pirates when she wasn’t really one. However, Nerissa wasn’t particularly intimidated. It wasn’t any different from the meeting of Chieftans that Nerissa often attended. A little larger and less formal, but such differences were negligible. As someone who was used to giving sermons, Nerissa wasn’t uncomfortable in large crowds. When the meeting’s apparent leader pulled it to a close, calling for any last thoughts, Nerissa’s voice could be heard clearly as she stated her opinion.

“I think that if the person with the map to One Piece really is watching, he or she would be very amused to see all the pirates squabbling over his map." She spoke in a factual manner, not a hint of condensation in her tone. "A map is nothing more than a piece of paper, a drawn guide based on the knowledge of skilled cartographer. And knowledge is meant to be shared, not hoarded nor censored. A treasure as great as One Piece would lose none of its value, even if it were split between every single pirate present.”

Whoever had the map to One Piece, Nerissa had no plans of stealing it. She only wanted to copy it. Or better yet, join them in their quest…since Nerissa’s journey wasn’t one to hunt for gold or jewels. It was one to find answers. Yet there were other reasons to search for One Piece. Scarlet wanted to be Queen of the Pirates. Truthfully, Nerissa wasn’t even sure what such a title would grant since she wasn’t familiar with pirate culture…let alone their hierarchy. It wasn’t something she thought about often, since all people of the sea were equal in the eyes of Aquarius. She didn't understand it. Why the competition? Why not all work together to find One Piece?

"I believe that if everyone works together, no goal is unattainable."

Rena

"So....people just yell out that they want to be part of a crew.....you don't know this man! You're all crazy!" Rena said as he watched one person after the other joined Kenji's crew. Rena was not going to jump on a ship with some random guys she didn't know. As a woman, she had to be less haphazard about her choices. Danger lurked around every corner, especially when someone's appearance just randomly changes!

"Your hair....it was white and now it's....black?"
Rena was a little shaken by this, she wasn't normally this hesitant with her line of questioning. Was this a devil fruit ability? Or perhaps a new product on the market, that instantly changes hair color? And if this product was on the market, why wasn't it in Rena's hair right now?

The entire manner of the boy changed; from a stuttering, low confidence boy, to a distinctly more confident, colder and slightly more unnerving guy. If he was on Kenji's crew, she would definitely have to think twice.

And then! Fire! Out of a boy's hand! As if it was the most natural thing in the world to do. Rena backed away, fear clearly in her demeanor. She wanted to question Mal about everything. Where did he get the powers? How did they manifest? Does the fire hurt? Amongst a whole host of other questions - but she simply couldn't. Here was a kid....with the power to produce flame out of nowhere. And Kenji just brushed it off as if he had done a backflip (which had taken Rena quite some time to master). Then just when she thought she couldn't get any more freaked out....

Bang!

Gunshot!

Rena's instincts kicked up immediately and she slipped behind cover; behind a crate that offered nothing but obscured vision for protection. She listened in on the conversation between the two men, which she found interesting indeed!

A pirate hunter and a captain himself, but also someone that shot in her general direction. Clearly a man not afraid to use his weapon or to do so to murder. Kenji, at least didn't seem like the type to indiscriminately shoot at people or want to kill them. You know....he was normal (ish!)

Winward pirates. 10 to 1 these guys would chase them if they had the chance. Rena hadn't picked a crew as of yet, but when she did, she was going to be on a pirate crew. She didn't need a pirate hunter hindering her progress. She slinked away and headed to the docks. Someone had to know which ship was the Winward pirate ship; she'd make sure they couldn't follow.

“I am not a thief!” Abigail asserted again, stomping her foot to emphasize the point simply because Celtus’s insistence on the matter was really getting on her nerves. The girl’s brow furrowed intensely as she looked up and into Cletus’s eyes with not an ounce give showing within them. She would remain firm on her statement.

Furthermore, she added,
“You don’t scare me.” She allowed her eyes to take in the sight of him further, observing that he was, in fact, armed to the tooth as he said he was, but that didn’t change her expression one little bit.

Her gaze flickered between Kyoko and Cletus beyond that, eyeing them both though it was clear in her eyes she liked Kyoko more.
“It’s not nice to go around calling people thieves, you know,” she asserted once more. “I don’t wanna be with someone who’s not nice.” Abigail turned to face Cletus and in doing so was standing right next to Kyoko. “She’s nice. She offered to help without calling me any names. I wanna stick with her. “

Scarlet nearly jumped when a woman right next to her started talking and as her head turned, she was even more surprised to see that it was one of the women she had run into on the beach. Her eyes scanned the woman up and down for a moment, trying to get a decent assessment of her and then Scarlet promptly nodded, as though in agreement of what the woman said. Her eyes turned back to the crowd for a moment, wondering if anyone else had anything to say.

It became clear right away that more than just Scarlet heard what Nerissa said. The young man with the warhammer actually walked right up to Nerissa and consequently, right up to Scarlet as well. He slipped his hammer back onto his back for the moment though his eyes were still slightly threatening.
“I think you’re missing the point of the One Piece, dear,” he added the last word as though it were meant to be an insult. “Whosoever finds the treasure first will go down in history, and I intend to make sure that name belongs to the one who I respect the most.”

His attention turned to address everyone now instead of just the woman who had spoken of sharing the map and splitting the treasure.
“Everyone here knows the name of Gol D. Roger and it isn’t because he was fabulous at working with others. It’s because he attained everything the world had to offer and because he left it for one of us to find.” His eyes scanned the circle and he made eye contact with anyone who looked at him. “As for my name, it’s Roy Volantis. Though I don’t claim the title of a captain, I fight for one who I believe in and one who rightfully
deserves to have his name remembered. If patience is what is demanded for now, then so be it.”

The man turned around and pushed his way through the crowd, vanishing from sight for anyone who didn’t intend on following him out.

“What a douche!” Scarlet remarked with a subtle chuckle, though not quite loud enough to announce it to the whole assembly. “This meeting really was useless… or it would’ve been, if I hadn’t met you,” Scarlet spoke directly to Nerissa now. “You’re very good at talking to people, you know that? Much different from the last friend I made, and I love your outfit!” Scarlet’s smile was more than enough evidence that it was a genuine compliment.

She offered a hand to the woman.
“Scarlet Johanna Indigrid’s my name. I’m trying to gather up a crew to find the treasure. You aren’t by chance looking for it as well, are you? I can’t imagine what else would bring you here.”

CAPTAIN HANNIBAL HAVOC

Grimmjow-grimmjow-jeagerjaques-21872882-600-764.jpg
"Captain Havoc! Captain Havoc!"... the sound of a boy shouting the name rang through the city. "Captain Havoc" The boy shouted one last time as he walked onto the docks. Lid down at the edge of the docks was the infamous Captain Hannibal Havoc, the 30,000,000 beli man. "Captain" the boy said running towards the man. He tripped up several feet in front of the captain and went flying past him and into the water. He splashed up a few seconds after. "Captain help me up" The boy whined. The man lid down on the docks sighed and stood. He yawned and reached a hand down to the boy in the water and pulled him up. The boy looked up to the captain. Havoc began to look around, it seemed that people had been staring at him, some with fear, others with a killing intent. "You know, you could have just said captain, rather than drawing attention to my name" he said looking at the boy.

"Captain the crew is heading back to the ship now, most of them are drunk" the boy said. "Okay, well I'll be walking around the city for a bit, I heard about a meeting for pirates or something at the town square. I might go, but I'd much rather focus on finding the map" he said as he began to walk off, leaving the boy behind.

WHY!? WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME LORD AQUARIUS!?” He heard a man shout just down the docks. Havoc silently sighed as he turned his head away from where he had heard the shout. Some people are just plain weird He thought to himself as he kept on walking down the docks, looking at his distorted image on the surface of the water. He turned his head so he could see the jaw bone of a lion attached to his cheek, covering up a burn wound that he had gotten years ago, that had left a hole in his cheek. The only downfall was that the jaw moved when he talked, so it revealed the hole as he opened his mouth.

He walked up a streets after deciding to turn from the docks and find out what the town of mirstone was all about, not having been there before in his life. He walked into a little market place and began looking at some food. He walked up to a sign that said cooking contest, but was displeased to find that it had ended a short while back, but some of the free samples were still left out so he gladly tried some. He looked over to see a large man with black hair standing near him. The man was carrying two pistols. "Nice guns" Havoc simply said as he placed his hand on his hip, where one of his twin pistols were holstered.

"Hey wait a second!"

First the Mirstone's town bells had been rung. It was an odd occurrence; the sound usually foreboded some kind of disaster. But by what Kanji was saying, it merely indicated a pre planned meeting. Of pirates. Which Mal most certainly was now! He almost ran off after his new captain, excited at the prospect of being 'one of them' now. But something felt off. He stuck his hands in his pockets, and feeling nothing, cursed. The broach was gone! In a panic, his golden eyes searched the cobblestones. A gunshot rang out from Kanji's direction, causing Rena to sprint after him, but the blonde's eyes were instead drawn by the movement of her feet to the object of his search as it lay just near where she had been so recently standing. Breathing a sigh of relief, he walked over and picked it up. It seemed to be okay, so he shoved it back into his pocket, taking care this time to pin it onto the inside of the pocket in order to not lose it again.

But now he was all alone. Or at least, those he knew were gone. One fellow that he remembered from before remained: the lad with the cupcakes. But he looked...different from before. Raising an eyebrow, Mal put his hand to his chin pensively.

"So you're gonna be on the Sea Dragon under Kenji, too, huh? Guess you can cook?" He examined the lad, who somehow was shorter than he was, a moment longer before shrugging. "Cool. I'll see you on the ship, then. Uh, whenever we actually get around to leaving, anyway. Though I guess you can come with if you wanna; I'm headed there myself right now!"

Without waiting for a response, Mal turned on his heel and stepped off toward the docks.

William Kidd

William Kidd was happy to hear that He would be able to join Kenjis crew but before he could reply with a thank you Kenji had said he would be going towards the town square for some kind of meeting. William gave him a slight smile and began to walk towards the docks himself, But then without warning.

Bang!

A gun had shot off in the nearby distance, in the direction that Kenji had been head towards. William turned back towards where Kenji had been headed and tried to find him to make sure that his captain was alright.

He walked through a few back alleys and came across Kenji who was surrounded by a bunch of pirates. One of them happened to notice Williams Presence and grab a hold of him throwing him down in the middle of the circle surrounding Kenji. "Looks like I found another Pirate" the man said. "PIRATE!" William shot up and shouted. He looked around at each and everyone of them, "Where? Which one of you is a Pirate? I bet its that one over there," he said pointing to one of Jacks men. The men stared at him blankly, till one of them said "Do you take us for fools?". "Matter of fact... Yeah I kind of do" He said as one trained his gun on him. He backed up slowly and made his way to stand side by side the captain. "So... Lovely day isn't it captain?" he said flashing a smile, looking around at the men surrounding them.

Nerissa Orta

Nerissa’s shock from being rebutted so aggressively by Roy Volantis turned to a blush as she listened to Scarlet’s compliments. For a pirate, the brunette was surprisingly friendly. She hesitated for a moment before taking Scarlet’s offered hand. She wasn’t used to being greeted in such away, but it was nice. Straightforward.

“Thank you. I like your ribbon as well.” Scarlet’s smile was returned by the priestess, albeit Nerissa’s was smaller and slightly more reserved. “I’m Nerissa Orta, a humble servant of Aquarius. If I am as good at speaking as you say, it is simply to spread his words”

So Scarlet was searching for a crew to sail with her. That would explain the orange haired lady and their deal. Nerissa nodded.“You’re right. I am searching for One Piece, though…” Her eyes trailed to where Roy Volantis vanished into the crowd. “I clearly don’t know much about it.”

Truly, no one knew anything about the Pirate King’s greatest treasure, so his insult didn’t particularly faze her. What shook her was the aggression in his eyes, though she didn’t allow herself to back down. He was like a thug—eager to pick fights, a volatile temper. Actually reminded her of Arlen a bit—when he killed that marine that tried to capture her . She’d chastised her bodyguard then as well. However, unlike Pirate Volantis, Arlen hadn’t threatened her or reacted angrily. Volantis was clearly in the wrong.

Yet, despite his aggression, Mr. Volantis’s words were...interesting. And he didn’t want the treasure for himself so he wasn’t selfish either. Fame for the person he respected the most? Nerissa pondered that thought. Wanting to go down in history, wanting to be remembered, such a desire wasn’t unfamiliar to her. It was something she could relate to. Everyone wanted to be remembered.

Nerissa had read a lot of books and she respected the authors who had recorded their thoughts, their lives, and the lives of others. They documented it all on paper so that they or whatever they cared for would forever be remembered. She wanted to do the same. When she left Mirage Island, Nerissa had started a diary—a log of everything she witnessed. The world beyond Mirage Island was truly strange, a community that wanted to take instead of share, of violence and depravity, of heretics and blasphemers. Yet Nerissa couldn’t deny that she wanted to see more. To learn more and to jot it all down so that when she returned to Mirage Island she’d be able to share all that she’d witnessed to her people.

Nerissa watched as the assembly of pirates gradually dispersed. Since the meeting proved to be uninformative, and the consensus was just to wait, there was little point in staying. She would have to find Arlen. He was probably worried. Yet Nerissa wasn’t in any particular hurry. Nerissa’s gaze drifted back to Scarlet. It was rare for her to make friend, let alone a female one, after the marines posted that horrid picture of her. Nerissa wanted to milk her time away from Arlen for as long as she could.

“If you don't mind me asking, Miss Scarlet, would you tell me more about One Piece?” Nerissa finished, her eyes twinkling with curiosity."What do you think the Pirate King's treasure contains?"

Jasper Pharos and Narivena Veulence

After returning to the Charybdis, and subsequently deciding to guard it until the crew arrives, Jasper busied himself with cleaning for a short time. He tidied up the thief's mess in Lady Scarlet's room, deciding to keep the gems on himself to explain what happened to her later. As an added measure he locked the window in her room to prevent easy reaccess.

Thankfully Lady Scarlet's closet and such seemed just as it had before. Which hopefully meant that thief did not do anything inappropriate beyond attempting theft. As Jasper finished tidying things up he stood straight, sighing as he smoothed his suit. To be quite honest he was feeling a tad lonely and bored. Hr hoped Lady Scarlet would return, or someone substantial came along for a fun little engagement.

He shook the latter thoughtout of his head as it formed. He was supposed to be resisting the urge for battle. Only fight for his Lady, that was what he did for Mistress Burgess after all. But lately it was tough, especially without Lady Scarlet around. He ran his fingers over the handles of both his weapons comfortingly. At least the crew was going to grow a bit after they left the island. Cletus and Harleen both seemed pleasant enough..... in their own ways.

Jasper was just exiting his Captain's Quarters as a voice called out from the dock. Then suddenly the voice jumped aboard. Jasper walked out to the middle of the deck and eyed the woman curiously. Orange hair, attractive in a Lithe fighter manner, quite likely a serious fighter of some sort. He raised an eyebrow questioningly, hands clearly still on his weapons. "Lady Scarlet sent you? Any possibility you are capable of proving that?"

It did not take long for someone to show themselves on deck. Narivena immediately gripped the handle of her dagger with one hand as she eyed the man up and down, eyes narrow with suspicion. His clothing was more than decent - classy even - and he carried himself with a stature she knew all too well. Definitely an experienced fighter. An interesting challenge if it should come down to a fight. A satisfied smirk danced over her thin lips, and for just a moment, a devilish gaze appeared in her eyes.

Once she had gotten a decent read on the man, she tilted her head curiously, her orange hair flowing gently because of the ocean breeze around them. Despite the little information given about the Jasper-character Scarlet had spoken of, Narivena assumed this was him. That was also assuming she had boarded the right ship. His question made her bite the inside of her lower lip in thought. How could she prove anything? She had no objects, no information that could prove her honesty. Narivena scratched the back of her neck with her free hand, taking her good time before responding to the question.

"To be honest, I have no physical proof of anything. I just met Scarlet, and we agreed that if I could be of use, I could hitch a ride off this island." Narivena responded, knees slightly bent should he suddenly decide to push an attack. She allowed a second's pause before adding, "I am assuming you're the Jasper she was speaking of? I might also add she was looking for a thief for your crew. And a navigator at that."

Narivena knew she had not yet spoken to Scarlet of her abilities as a thief, though she had mentioned her "profession" as a navigator. It was best kept hidden for now, as most people became wary once they knew how skilled she was with her sticky fingers and attentive eyes and ears.

"I can prove to you that I am indeed a navigator, if that would ease your mind." Narivena suggested and gestured to the satchel she was carrying, one eyebrow raised in a questionary matter.

Jasper visibly relaxed as each sentence made it clearer this woman had actually been sent by Lady Scarlet. His hands did not leave his weapons, but they were clearly there by habit rather than as a warning now. "Alright, clearly your not just another conniving thief. Judging from your stance your likely competent in a fight as well."

He let a light smirk play across his lips as he spoke. "Navigator hm? Yes, Lady Scarlet did speak of needing one. My skill at it only goes so far I suppose. Best left to the professionals in the more dangerous seas." He paused for a moment, tilting his head slightly. "I am indeed Jasper. What might I call you?"

Narivena let go of the handle on her dagger when Jasper seemed more relaxed in her presence. On one end, she was happy it did not end in a misunderstanding fight, but she also noted the powerful aura around Jasper. An intriguing power that she wanted to poke and challenge by nature.

"My name is Narivena Veulence. Much easier to call me Nerva." Narivena fixed the satchel's position on her shoulder as she spoke. "Good to meet you, Jasper. This is the Charybdis? It's rather charming."

The latter was more a note of confirmation than a question as she figured Jasper would not be on any other ship. Did not hurt to make sure at any rate.

Jasper eyed the woman's hand as it released the handle of her dagger. A last bit of tension releasing as she did. He broke into a wide, genuine smile as she complimented the Charybdis. He felt a wave of pride as the ships primary caretaker so far. He enjoyed when people spoke of its appearance in a positive manner.

"Nice to meet you Miss Nerva. Welcome aboard. This is indeed the Charybdis, the ship belonging to Lady Scarlet and her Red Ribbon pirate crew. Thus far I know of two other recruits, you making for a third. I presume you are here due to actual consideration of joining us?"

The athmosphere changed from dramatic to relaxed in mere seconds and for once, Narivena could feel her tense shoulders lower. She took a few steps onto the deck, her hand running over the woodwork towards the helm as she responded to Jasper's question.

"Hm. Can't say I have agreed to join the crew just yet. I'm just hitching a ride off this island, but you seem like decent folk. At least the few of you I've met. Who knows what life has in store for me?"

Jasper nodded in acceptance of her answer. "Well you seem like a pleasant enough individual. Crew or no I am sure we will get along fine. Feel free to peruse the ship as you like. Should you have questions I will be available in front of the Captain's Quarters." With that he turned on his heels and walked back to stand aside the door to Lady Scarlet's personal quarters. Regardless of what any ne'erdowell's would try, they would not make it to her room again.

Cletus T. Bass

"I've lived long enough to realize it's a dog eat dog world out there. I ain't going to sugar coat it with pleasantries, missy," Cletus said to Kyoko. "And I wasn't making a threat, just an observation." He took another drag of his cigarette, letting out a low, irritated growl as Abigail again insisted that she wasn't a thief. It seamed like the "Acquirer of Goods" title hadn't been good enough for the girl to forget the thief remark. Abigail had also made her choice to stick with Kyoko.

"I wasn't trying to scare you...." he gruffly said to Abigail. "Suit yourself, kid," he added as he turned his back on the females. "But if your problem is bigger than what your new friend can handle, my offer still stands. You can find me on a ship down at the docks called the Charybdis. If I'm not there, look for a woman wearing a red ribbon, she's the captain, or a butler-y kind of man. Tell 'em Cletus sent you."

After that, Cletus walked away, leaving a faint smoke trial behind him as he walked to the Charybdis. As he walked up the gangplank he saw Jasper standing by the captain's quarters. "I take it Captain Scarlet ain't back yet," he said as he stood on deck and smoked. Cletus noticed a young woman running her hand over the ship's railing. Since Jasper wasn't acting antagonizing toward her, he figured she was a new ally.

"You must be a new crewmate," Cletus gruffly said, now standing beside her near the railing. "I'm the old man who's going to repair this vessel when she needs it," he added, introducing himself with a frown on his face. "Unless I die trying...which I probably will," he grumbled to himself. "Name's Cletus T. Bass." He offered Narivena a handshake, but he still didn't have a pleasant expression on his face.

Ferra watched as 'Captain' and Damien walked away and out of the bar. It was, honestly, a relief to know that the pair hadn't in fact been after her, but she didn't fool herself. While Damien may not have figured it out, 'Captain' knew exactly who she was and more than likely where she was from. It would have been more worrisome if he'd actually reacted in a more violent manner, but the fact that they had largely kept to themselves and kept civil took a lot off her mind. Still, finding Captain Kenji and warning him would have likely been the best course of action.

Finally taking the last draws from her original bottle of rum, Ferra was about to rise as another new patron of the bar walked in. A cursory glance, however, left her caring little even as he sat near her, and her attention was drawn away again as another handful of people entered after him, but they were nothing other than the standard thugs and lowlifes she'd become accustomed to seeing often. Shrugging it off, the woman rose from her seat once more, moving towards the bar and leaving the empty bottle on the counter, knowing it was cheaper for her favourite bar keep to recycle his bottles than it was to purchase new ones.

As she moved towards the door, however, she was stopped by a commotion behind her, namely the clattering of a chair kicked across the room. Sighing in irritation Ferra turned to see that it was one of the small group that had come in after the silver haired boy. Not even five minutes had passed and they were already starting trouble? What in the nine hells was wrong with these people? Unwilling to leave without ensuring the fight at least got taken outside, Ferra made her way behind the group of thugs as they stood semicircle around the seated silver haired boy.

"So here's the deal kid," one spoke, a sly and nasty mirth poorly hidden in his voice, "There's a tax for newcomers and foreigners. You pay us, and we'll make sure the money gets into the... deserving hands, alright? But if you refuse, it's going to come down to force. You think anyone here will protect you? Course not, cos they'll know you just gotta pay the tax. So make it easy on yourself and pay up."

Rolling her eyes and the trash scheme, Ferra actually found herself caring very little about whether the boy was going to pay up or not. If anything he should have attempted to look like he fit in better, his red jacket and general pseudo tribal islander look wasn't helping, so it was his own fault. Still, "There's no fighting in this establishment. End of story. You want trouble stirred, take it outside, before I decide to take you outside myself, am I understood?"

In response the thug that had spoken earlier made an attempted grab at Ferra's coat, mouthing off in his own foolish way that did not actually surprise Ferra to hear. Grasping the thug's wrist, Ferra twisted it back and away as she brought her left leg in to strike at the back of the thug's right knee easily dropping him to the floor before kicking him away from her. Bringing one hand behind her back, and resting her dominant left hand onto the hilt of her sabre, Ferr gauged the rest of the thugs carefully, watching for any untoward reactions as the thug leader struggled back to his feet, his back to the silver haired boy at the table.

"Well what the hell are you all standing around for?" he snapped at his wary crew of misfits, "It's just one bitch, kill her!"

Narivena Veulence

Narivena turned her head as she heard approaching footsteps on the ship's plank. A man with a trail of smoke behind him boarded the Charybdis. Another crewmate of the Red Ribbon Pirates it seemed? "Scarlet was heading towards the Bell Tower last I saw her. Something about a meeting concerning the map everybody's talking about." Narivena responded to Cletus' question even though it was directed at Jasper. With elbows resting on the ship's railing, she eyed the man carefully as he approached her.

"Narivena Veulence. Or just Nerva." Narivena responded and shook Cletus' hand firmly, ignoring his frown as she did not catch any hostility off of him. Probably just a grumpy old man. A grumpy old man, serious about his position in the crew. Dedication had always been a good trait in people in Narivena's opinion. Until now, this crew seemed full of it. A scary, tempting thought. "A crew always needs a good shipwright to stay afloat at sea."

"Sorry to disappoint, though. I'm not a member of your crew. Scarlet allowed me to hitch a ride off this island if I could help with finding the map and also get you out of here. Seeing I'm a navigator and cartographer, the latter should not be a problem." Narivena added with a shrug. Her gaze drifted to the docks and then further to the helm of the ship with an approving nod. "Is she a standard former marine vessel?" the question was directed at no one in particular. Turning around, she now had her back to the ocean, facing the mast and sails with narrow, inspecting eyes.

Cygnus Albireo

This lady obviously didn't think much of Cygnus. It was probably better that way. Cygnus loathed himself sometimes as well, so why should she? "Ok, I'll

g-get going then,"
he said. He want to get away from this dangerous lady. An awkward silence followed. "Well ... B-Bye then. It was nice to meet you, lady ... with a big sword. I think I should get g-going then. O-once more, G-good bye and have a nice day." He did a step back. And another. Then he unhandily turned around and started walking away. Wow, that was smooth. Great going, volunteering to do her dirty work for her. Really great.

If he were a little girl on the run from a crew of a boat, most likely pirates, where would he go? She would probably try to get off the island. Cygnus realized that he was currently in the same shoes as the girl. The old man and his son were probably still looking for him or setting up a trap. They probably couldn't find him now. Even Cygnus could not find Cygnus at the moment. He was terribly lost in the maze of back alleys. It was very tempting to just stay in the maze for a while, not really closed off from the world, but enclosed by all hiding places and escaped routes.
Then you shouldn't have promised that lady your help. Now he was obliged to help this damsel in distress. Though this lady was far from a damsel in distress. Cygnus hoped he would not end up needing to be saved in the end.

When he had left the sword lady far behind he found an empty alley. He made sure no one was there or could see what he was about to do. It had been his plan anyways, but the lady interrupted him.
"Shambles!" He found himself on the roof. A roof tile laid On the pavement. The Ope Ope no Mi was really beneficial to those who couldn't climb. The view was quite good. He looked over the entire city. A market space to the left. The harbor to the far right. Cygnus had decided that the thief would probably head for the harbor to get on a boat. It was his best bet and getting closer to getting of the island didn't sound bad in Cygnus ears. He might even join the girl on her trip. He began to make his way over the roofs, leaving a trail of mismatched tiles.

Arlen Hakhassi

“Hey now,” Long dark fingers encircled the wrist of one of the thugs about to charge the mohawk lady—the only who’d attempted to save him from being harassed. Sort of. She hadn’t told the meat-heads to stop. Just take it outside. Which meant she didn’t care one way or another whether Arlen was robbed.

The silver haired teenager was still seated at the table, one hand in his pocket while his green eyes watched the on-going events of the fight keenly. The bulky man tried to pull away, but the only response he got was the tightening of Arlen’s bone shattering grip. “It’s not nice for grown men to gang up on a little lady.”

Granted the short lady didn’t appear in anyway helpless, judging from her hairstyle, clothes, her demeanor, and the weapon she wielded. She appeared hardened despite her size. A stark contrast from Lady Nerissa. When the bulky man attempted to punch him with his free fist, Arlen tilted his head to the side, easily avoiding the blow. Crack! A pain-filled scream permeated the bar, drawing the attention of all the bar’s occupants back towards himself.

Releasing the broken wrist, Arlen walked pass the bulky man who cradled his arm, and made his way to the one that threatened him. The others were too stunned to move. Either that, or they were busy with their thick heads deciding whether to attack him or the small woman. Whichever the case, Arlen enjoyed the attention while it lasted. He weaved an arm around the apparent leader’s shoulder in a friendly manner.

“You heard her,” Arlen nodded at the blonde woman apologetically before returning his steadfast gaze towards the leader, who was apparently gathering tax money. “Since I’m the new guy in town, I don’t want to make trouble for the other patrons. Let’s take this talk outside,” A hidden dagger flashed in his hand, pressed against the thugs throat.

Silence followed him as Arlen led the thug leader outside. Would the leader’s crew of misfits follow him? Would they attack knowing he had a blade pressed against their leader’s meaty throat? Green eyes glinted in anticipation, a malicious smile curving on his lips. Arlen was no longer a child who got bullied by the other children. He was the Leviathan. The best fighter of Mirage Island. If the people beyond the Island wished to pick a fight with him, then he welcomed the challenge. Forgetting his original purpose of gathering information about pirates and priestess Nerissa, shoved the thug away from him as soon as they stepped into the open air. “Sorry, man, but I’m a foreigner with no money.”

Arlen pocketed his hidden dagger, and grinned at the thug who was getting to his feet. He cracked his knuckles, uncaring of who watched. The Leviathan was used to his fights being witnessed by crowds after all. “Whenever you’re ready.”

Ferra watched as the man stood and acted. She had to admit, she was ready to acknowledge the fact that he seemed brave enough to stand up for himself all the way up until the point, as he went out the door, that he was, despite his larger size, still a boy. It was subtle at first, given his height and size of his hands, but the cocky way he seemed to carry himself and his overall attitude really started to show the truth to the woman as he walked outside.

What a fool given the situation. New, practically lost and making enemies already.

Life would be easier to just let the men take care of the boy himself too.

As she mulled over things she idly followed the spectators outside, including the thugs, as the formed a ring around the boy and his adversary. To be frank, she didn't particularly care if the boy killed the man either, as she had planned on that herself after the man's comment about killing her. Still, the boy wasn't paying a single ounce of attention to the other's around him, or at least not giving enough indication that he was to hold Ferra's confidence. Especially as one of the thugs moved in and began to draw a dagger from the back of his belt, moving around behind the boy. Pushing her way through the crowd, the second the former officer's foot hit ground free of the encircling ground, she lounged forth, sabre flying forth from it's sheath as it came up and knocked the dagger from the hand of the the boy's unknown assailant.

"You're back, boy," she spoke as she reverted to a more neutral stance, her right hand behind her back, left side leading with her sabre pointed straight forward at the rest of the group of thieves, "If you don't learn to watch it then it will always be a weak spot for you. Though your display with the man inside, breaking his wrist in one hand, congratulations, you know how to hurt people, and obviously make trouble, but over all you haven't done much to impress."

Eyeing their potential adversaries coolly, Ferra's eyes betrayed nothing of her thoughts or intentions as she continued to stand at ready. She wasn't necessarily inclined to care either way any how, if they fought, she killed them and moved on, if they ran she'd move on, simple life either way. What she was actually becoming slightly more interested in was why a boy was wandering the streets, or at least a boy that wasn't a simple cabin lad or lover to one that was much older and more in charge. It was highly uncommon, and the fact that he wasn't from the area piqued her interest as well. She had one day hoped to find her home island, perhaps he was from there, though it was a far hope.

Casting her voice behind her, she addressed the boy once more, "Perhaps when this is over we can speak, and I can fill you in on a few things, such as the fact that there is no tax. If they choose to attack, just remember what I said earlier about your back, understood boy?"

Life had been easy and enjoyable for the longest time for Skorrigg. The town of Mirstone had been in need of a well seasoned physician for quite some time before he'd arrived. It wasn't so much that their local doctors weren't good enough to treat them, but moreover that there had been a small outbreak of a foreign illness the local doctors didn't actually know how to handle. The plus side to this was that it was not the first time he'd handled the illness, nor did he believe it would be the last.

Still, it had been an apt experience, and despite his appearances being initially off putting, eventually his calm and friendly demeanour had won out, and he'd finished treating his final patient earlier in the day. Furthermore things had become quite hectic as of late, and outside of his standard doctor job, which had also boomed with the rise of violence, he had also found income in simply standing about looking menacing. It was surprising how well that worked as a deterrent for violence, and how much money it had been able to bring in. It also gave him access to quite a fair amount of information too.

This information had led him to the meeting he was at now.

Skorrigg had remained seated from the arrival of the first peoples to the meeting and had continued to do so even as many of them had begun to leave. He had many reasons for this, both so that he could assess and appraise those that came and went. It gave him a good lay of the land and really let him know what he was working with. Ultimately, however, the most useful point of remaining seated meant that she was able to successfully remain as undetected as possible, refraining from gathering too much attention due to his size.

As the meeting had commenced the man couldn't help but roll his eyes at the bickering of the men as they discussed the map. The mere idea of the map alone had been enough to draw his interest, and his curiosity, given his current contract being finished, won out and he'd made his way here. Out of the whole group, however, he enjoyed listening to the aqua haired lady. She seemed to have a lovely and calm attitude, akin to his own. It was a far cry from the chaotic and oft angry attitudes of the pirates that had flooded the town shortly after he'd arrived. In fact, his eyes sparked with interest as she spoke the same question he too wished to know; what was the One Piece meant to be?

Rising from his seat, but keeping his helmet held at his side and leaving his face revealed out of wish to appear friendly and polite, Skorrigg walked through the room and around to the front of the pair of women he aimed to speak to. At the same time, he made sure to present himself in a friendly and open manner, sporting a friendly smile as he nodded in recognition.

"I too, actually, would like to know of the 'One Piece'. Is it one part of a whole, perhaps, or is it because it is the last, or only of it's kind? I apologise, by the by. I'm not from here, firstly, and know nought of this topic. Secondly, I have failed to properly introduce myself. I am Skorrigg Vyltmheim, the Bloodied, doctor hailing from a tribe far to the frozen north. A pleasure to make the acquaintances of both of you ladies."

As he finished his introduction he gave a low bow before rising and awaiting his answer.

Kaito And Havoc Collab with @Jekyll

hellsing-ultimate-jpg.13312
Kaito had been wondering around for a while. He looked at different food samples that were displayed and tried some of them that he thought looked good. He watched as the contestants left the area and others began to leave as well as the finished off their meals. A man who was standing near him had blue hair and what looked to be a lions jaw attached to the side of his face.

He looked down to the mans twin pistols. Kaito carried two similar weapons inside his jacket, which the man had commented on after seeing them. "
Thanks, yours are pretty nice aswell" Kaito said looking down at the shorter man.

Havoc flashed a quick smile towards the man. "
Yours are a pretty unique set of pistols, longer barrels" He said observing them. He looked down to his own pistols. "Mine are what I like to call a pair of cutlasses" he said.

Kaito took out both his pistols to give Havoc a better view. "
This silver on is called Casul and the black one is called Jackel. They are a set of hand cannons, Lots of Recoil" he replied.

"
I'm intrigued to say the least. I want to know what these pistols can do and what their fire power is like" He said studying them as Kaito had taken them out of their Holsters. "Hmm, want to make a bet?" He said posing the question.

Kaito smiled slightly at this proposal. "
That depends. What are we betting on" he said. He thought up the possibilities of what Havoc could possibly want and smiled realizing exactly what he wanted.

"
Lets have a old fashion duel, down on the docks" He said before continuing, "If I win I want those two pistols, however if you win I have a Jeweled pistol on my ship made of gold. It doesn't work anymore however it is still pretty valuable" He said.

Kaito thought about his offer and decided to ask something first. "
So how do I know that if you lose you wont just run away and not give me the pistol" Kaito asked.

"
Because I'm a man who keeps his word, I'll have my cabin boy bring it to the dueling area to show you before we start" he said. "So shall we?" He asked.

"
Okay I'll do it" Kaito said determined to win.

About fifteen minutes later Kaito meet Havoc on the docks. Havoc showed Kaito The Pistol he offered. "
So shall we begin" Havoc said

Kaito smiled at the sight of the pistol and accepted the challange. The two went back to back with each other. They took ten paces apart. The cabin boy would give the signal of when to turn and shoot.

"
Fire" The cabin boy shouted. Havoc turned and quickly shoot his gun off.

Kaito turned when he heard the words fire. Time slowed down for Kaito. He reached in his jacket and gripped the handle of Jackel. Knowing the damage his guns could do he decided to aim for a area on Havoc's body that wouldn't kill him if hit. He pulled the trigger on his gun.

A bullet hit his left arm with a thick
Clunk. The bullet ricocheted off of him. Havoc on the other hand took a wound to the side, as Kaito aimed for his side, only enough that it would take some flesh.

Havoc was surprised. "
Hmm, a metal arm huh? Well I guess you win" Havoc said putting his hand over the flesh wound on his side. "You got pretty good aim there, aiming only to give me a flesh wound" Havoc commented.

"
So you noticed that did you?" Kaito said. Kaito walked over to Havoc and claimed his winnings from the boy putting the pistol in the pocket of his jacket. He turned away from Havoc then and began to make his way away from him.

"
See you on the seas!" Havoc shouted as he headed back towards his ship.

KYOKO RINNE

Kyoko taking the stand beside Abigail. Would her bluff be enough to sway the standoff right before her? Cletus looked miffed from his perspective, another bog of smoke whiffed into the as he answered back with no intentions of a fight wanting to break out, though his words could say the opposite, "A dog eat dog world..." Kyo already knew that well as soon as she left her home, it made her more irked than empathetic and with "sugar-coat" made it sound like as if Kyoko was weak, she didn't like being weak, especially those who would think she was. But as long as the stalemate ended peacefully, she would have to hold her anger for her true enemy.

Cletus still offering his deal on the table to Abigail and leaving as he disappeared into the crowd, Kyo let out a sigh of relief but a discerned emotion that soon left her face as she turned to the girl
, "Well, isn't that a relief. I really didn't want to fight right now but it went smoothly than I thought it would." Seeing that the girl took her side, Kyoko wondered if Abby really trusted her that well enough to take her side, maybe Kyo went a little too far with her words but it seemed much more logical to go with the friendlier person than any other.

,"Well, Abigail, it was nice meeting you, even if it was only for a couple of minutes and that thing happening a few moments ago-"Pointing her thumb to the back of her, "-I don't know what mess your in or ordeal you've gotten yourself but I won't force you to spill the beans. Honestly, to which I'm sorry to say, but it's none of my business- I assume you'd agree- instead I'll leave you to your own fate." Kyoko straightening her bags onto her shoulders, "Don't take it offensively though, you seemed like a good girl. I don't know if you want to tag along or continue on with whatever you were previously doing but I'll be on way now, I'm starving! Don't want the calamari to spoil."

Kenji and Jack Rackham

Kenji looked over to William who had joined into the Fray after making some commotion. Jack had a really dumb look across his face as he watch William join them as if to say 'is he really that stupid?' Kenji on the other hand kept on eyeing the lot of the pirates who surrounded the two. "
William, you take care of some of the goons, I'll take Jack and the rest" He said. "Nitoryu" Kenji said simply as he took his stance and faced towards Jack. "Oni Giri" He said as he shot forward. Jack smiled as his one of his crew mates steeped in front of him wielding a Iron shield. Kenji quickly steeped around the man and slashed his back open. he continued towards jack as their swords met with each other.

Kenji quickly jumped back as jack had Parried his attack. Jack simply smiled and said "
Rankyaku". He kicked the air and sent off a powerful blast of air. Kenji's eyes widened. He parried the blast of air with his blades. "Tell me, I've seen those techniques before, where did you manage to come across them?" Kenji asked. "Well since I'm going to kill you I might as well tell you anyways. I use to be a marine officer. I worked at a base where they trained people. I didn't like working with the Marines, so I copied down all their secret techniques and such and abandoned my post," He said, "These techniques are called the Rokushiki, although i only know 2 so far there are 6 techniques all together" he said.

Kenji placed One sword back in the scabbard. He looked at Jack with a grin. "
This sword is Named Nidai Kitetsu, A cursed blade" He said, "It has a blood lust of its own". "One Sword style" Kenji said. "Shave" Jack said launching forward. "Upwards Falcon" Kenji Said. The Two Clashed at incredible speed. Jack flew past Kenji and stopped.

Kenji slowly Sheathed his blade. "
You really got me good back there" Jack said coughing up a little bit of blood. "Captain!" The remaining crew mates said as they ran over to pick up their captain who had suffered a wound to his chest from Kenji. Kenji Wiped his own blood from his cheek from a small cut that jack had managed to get. Kenji smiled. "You put up a good fight Jack Rackham" he said as his crew carried them back towards their ship.

Damian Havrick, Sellick Havrick, and Robin Linwade

Sellick supported his brother as they awkwardly made their way to the beach. His brothers height was often helpful, but sometimes...... decidedly less so. Sellick cast inspecting glances as they walked. Every thing he passed, every individual they'd seen had further convinced him. This island was a haven for pirate activity right now.

There wasn't a single Marine operating openly as far as he could see. In fact it seemed there were at least a few Marine deserters here. This could be an issue. They were string enough for a great many of these pirates, that much was true. But they were not capable of facing the whole island alone. Especially if there were Captain level deserters here.

Sellick doubled their pace while trying to make it look inconspicuous. Damian slurred out a word or two here and there. However it was when he least expected that Damian whispered to Sellick. "Brother. I believe this island to be crawling with pirates and ne'er-do-wells. Is my drunkness making them drop their guard, or should I drink more?"

Sellick walked in amused silence for a moment. "Yes brother. I am quite sure you've thrown them all off with your plan. Brilliant move I must say." He was quite happy a mask covered his grin, as he didn't want his brother mistaking his amusement for insult.

As they finally arrived at the beach, they both checked to make sure they had a exceptionally wide area of privacy. Sellick may have done most of the checking for.... obvious reasons. When they, when Sellick, was sure it was clear he pulled a Den Den Mushi from his pouch. He wasn't quite sure where they were, but a Marine ship of some kind had to be near enough to get the call. "Emergency call to any Marine vessel in the area. This is Marine Captain Sellick T. Havrick, please respond."

"Captain Sellick? Message heard and received. Leiutenant Linwade speaking. Can I get a current location?" The voice on the other end was undoubtedly male and also slightly robotic.

Sellick blinked for a second, actually rather stunned to get such an immediate answer. He expected at least a couple of hours of trying before an answer. "Apologies Lieutenant, but we do not know our current location by name. We washed up here after being thrown overboard. It seems to be an island teeming with both pirates and Marine deserters."

"No need to apologize, Captain. Would you happen to know where you were headed in the storm?"

Sellick went over his memory of just prior to the storm. "Yes, we were supposed to rendezvous with Rear Admiral Marshton concerning a large scale operation in the West Blue. Mirstone if I recall correctly."

"Alright." There was a brief pause in the conversation after which time the voice returned. "Seems most likely that you are in Mirstone, Captain. It is probably best to stay where you are. I'm heading to you at this very moment."

Sellick bit his lip in thought. He was unsure if it was great or terrible luck to have ended up on the very island they were to be at anyway. Although likely their crew hadn't made the rendezvous, instead searching for and reporting them missing. "Roger that, Lieutenant. Any particular action we should take for now? Or is lying low the goal?"

"Lay low, definitely, for the moment, Captain. All the pieces are in place. I'll brief you on all the details when I arrive."

"Alright. Would you happen to have an eta, Lieutenant?" Sellick had already begun planning a few places they could stay, but evrthin depended on the time frame. He reached to his back and ran his fingers over his bow as he thought.

"We could get there faster, but the current ETA is daybreak. That's the plan we're to stick to."

Dawn. A simple enough time to remain anonymous. Sellick picked a place they had passed and began orienting Damian in the direction. Good thing the ETA was a bit away, so Damian could sober up prior to the battle. "Got it. I'll keep my den den mushi at hand so you can contact me when it us time to ready up. Captain Sellick signing off." He cut communication and began seriously guiding Damian to the hotel nearby.

Syrin Insinu

Syrin raised an eyebrow at the disaster that was the kitchen. "This reminds me of the time I was hired to blow up some cargo... Except... Worse?" He honestly wasn't sure how it was possible to cause this much destruction with a singular explosion from an oven. Or at least, he hoped it was an oven that caused this much damage. Hearing Stacy's statement, he snorted and refocused on Norman as he worked on cleaning a path to the center of the destruction. "Given what I've seen of him and his captain, they seem like walking trouble magnets." He shakes his head, and while looking down, he realizes something. There was soot on he ground. He stepped on soot. His eyes immediately focused in on his shoes, and to his growing horror and rage, he could see the marks from the soot he stepped in. He lifted his foot up and took a closer look, and his distraught only multiplied as he saw that the soot had gotten onto the sides of his shoes. He could feel himself nearing the point of hyperventilation. Without a word he turned and immediately stepped out the kitchen, taking extra care not to step on any more soot.

Once out he took off his shoes to see the extent of the damage done. His eye twitched as he noticed that he would likely have to purchase some of the more expensive cleaning supplies to ensure that his shoes kept their perfect white sheen. Rummaging in one of his pockets, he pulled out some of his emergency supplies, and began cleaning his shoes, all the while gritting his teeth to keep from going into a blind rage, though that didn't stop the ominous hissing noise that escaped through his clenched teeth.

Scarlet Johanna Indigrid

At first, Scarlet could only shrug. “I’m not sure anyone could claim to know much about the treasure, honestly. You don’t have to feel bad about it,” she commented before her eyes followed the path Roy had taken as he walked away. “And you definitely don’t have to worry about that jerk. He clearly didn’t realize he was talking to a lady.” Scarlet nodded firmly at that statement, some of her fierce resolve flooding her gaze.

She smiled brightly at the priestess’s next question and for a moment, her gaze turned skyward as she imagined all the possibilities. For a moment, the captain simply pondered.

Her eyes turned as a very large man walked up to the two of them. Never once did Scarlet show fear. In fact, she smiled at his words.
“See? This one knows how to speak to a lady!”

Then her head turned down and her eyes met Nerissa’s.
“I don’t know what’s in it, though I do imagine there’s jewels and gems galore… wouldn’t be much of a treasure without them.” A bright smirk echoed her own approval of her words. “Spades always said it was something else, though. He said he found something so enticing about a man who could utter a few simple words and draw out every single pirate in the world in the hunt of what he spoke of.”

Once more, Scarlet seemed to fall into a wave of concentration as she thought about it more before her gaze flickered towards the two people talking to her.
“You know, I think I want to find it just to see what it is. It would be a fun adventure and before the map, I would’ve never dared to even try. I think it would be fun, though, and I’d be Queen. Don’t you agree it would be fun? And I get to prove so many people wrong. They didn’t think a girl could find it.”

Scarlet quickly realized she’d been talking a lot. Just as swiftly, she realized she didn’t care.

“Would you like to come with me? Prove a bunch of people wrong… find out all there is to know about the One Piece? You did say you were lookin’ for it.” Scarlet’s eyes found the girl interesting and she was also excited about the concept of having a girl on the crew. She wasn’t quite sure if the map lady had gone to her ship or not and Harley had wandered off. Scarlet was in need of a new friend.

Then she turned her head to the man called Skorrigg.
“You can come too, if you want.” She smiled at him. “Ships usually have doctors on them, right? I don’t actually think Jasper knows how to do all that doctor stuff so you might come in handy… if you want to.” Scarlet shrugged.

“As long as I get to be the Pirate Queen… that’s the important part.”

Stacy Beauregard

After a whole lot of hammering and a significant amount of work, Stacy’s face was practically black with some of the ash and soot that had been left to sit on the parts she was dealing with. Looking up briefly, she wiped some of it out of her eyes and set back to work, pounding in pieces and hammering away at the kitchen that had been exploded. Though she had a small part of her mind that wished fixing the ship actually proved to be impossible, she found that it was well within the range of her abilities. None of the parts had been destroyed… just horribly misplaced. It left a puzzle for Stacy to play with.

New parts had simply consisted of a few screws. They were very vital screws, but the ship had those on hand.

Sighing, she stood up and turned the nob on the stove. She hovered her hand over the top of it and could feel the heat radiating off of it.
“Well, it works. I’d say that’s a good thing, but I guess it depends on how good of a cook you got on hand.” Stacy smiled a bit at her own comment.

“I only relit one pilot flame so if there are more, you’ll have to restart them. Try not to break it again in the process, ok?” Her eyes glared at Norman as she said it, hoping that he knew she really was being serious. Stacy slipped her own tools back into her belt and left those belonging to the ship with the ship itself before wiping her eyes and walking back to where she’d left Syrin standing, though he wasn't there anymore.

Turning back to Norman, she told him,
"I'm gonna go clean up."

Walking back onto the deck of the ship, she chuckled slightly at the sight of Syrin cleaning his shoes in a nearly frantic manner. She was sure her snicker was more than enough to show her amusement so she didn't comment further.
“I dunno if you’d like to stick around and see if this guy’s got any cool stories to tell or not, but regardless, I have to step off for a moment and wash up.” She made a point of showing how black her hands were. “Unless that idiot captain proves easy to find, I might be stuck until I can collect on payment. Sure as hell didn’t put all that time into repairs for nothing. I do hope you’ll stick around ‘til I’m free. Civilized company is nice.”

Without further words, Stacy walked off the vessel, dipping her hands in the ocean water and letting it clean her pores.

Weston Lowell

pirate.jpg

NPC Notes

Location: The Docks

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Brushing himself off after the encounter with the pirate on Charybdis, Weston’s hand slipped into his pocket where he found himself toying with the one gem he managed to maintain possession of throughout the brief and slightly terrifying encounter. Pulling it out of his pocket, Weston rolled it in his palm. It was a ruby. His eyes glanced up to the other ships in the port as he wondered how much more wealth he would find on board. First he needed to find another ship worthy of raiding, though.

As his eyes scanned over the vessels he could see, there was another that caught his eye quite quickly although it unfortunately seemed to have people on board. While Weston wasn’t opposed to a good fight, that would violate Captain Shade’s orders. That thought was terrifying. He allowed his eyes to move on.

The next ship he saw was smaller than the others and by that fact alone, it seemed nonexistent although there was also something odd about it. The ship was simply eye-catching and so
different from anything else Weston had ever seen before. There was no name engraved on it and no flag flying so he truly had no idea who it could have belonged to. Furthermore, Weston didn’t care. He simply found his feet carrying him on to the smaller vessel.

The first thing he noticed was that it felt like stepping into a different time.

Wandering into the quarterdeck - because that was where treasure would be - he also saw something else. There was a single red button on a rectangular box and as Weston wandered up to it, he couldn’t keep from verbalizing,
“What is this?” Well, the best way to find out was to push the button.

Almost instantly, a loud explosion echoed.

Peeking back onto the deck, Weston quickly realized that he’d caused the explosion. The button set off cannon fire. Quickly, he rushed to the rail of the ship and saw the damage he’d caused to a neighboring vessel and he glanced to those on deck, the same three he’d seen before. His eyes quickly turned down again and he saw the damage he’d caused before he ducked behind the rail, hoping it would go unnoticed until he’d managed to run away.

Elijah Baden

Elijah yawned, dropping his cigarette onto the ground, stomping it out quickly before continuing on. He had been wandering around for quite some time now, and still no person he found suitable for his own abilities had shown up. He wanted to find someone with the drive to test the extent that Elijah could put himself to. He wanted to be pushed to his limit for not only his skill in craftsmanship, but also his physical abilities.

Pulling out his paper of potential names for the ship, he looked over some of the ones he had crossed out. They all seemed so poor...either too dark or too happy. He wanted to be intimidating, but also he wanted the ship to seem a little on the happy side. Though, the happy side would be tough. It was more of a machine for battle that could sail the seas than an inviting vessel for adventure. Oh well, he would deal with that later.

Due to his mind being elsewhere, he didn't even notice as he bumped his shoulder into that of another person. Grunting, he continued walking, not bothering to look back at who it was. It wasn't until they came back and grabbed his shoulder to spin him around that Elijah took this man as a threat. He wasn't a large man, either. He was a little shorter than the shipwright, though stockier as well. Tattoos ran up and down his arms, and his head was shaved nearly completely bald. He had two nose rings, and a piercing through his lip. It looked almost goofy, instead of scary. Elijah had to try his hardest to not laugh.

The stranger pulled him in close, enough for Elijah to smell his nasty breath, that reeked of rum and some sort of meat. "
You, sir, should watch where you're going. You got some nerve wandering around, bumping into people, and not apologizing. So, I'll give you another chance. How about it? Huh, boy?" His mouth twisted into a lop-sided smile, like he was proud he was standing up to him. But Elijah was not amused. He stared at him steadily for a few moments, before shrugging the man's hand off.

"'Scuse me, buddy. I got some places to be. Well, I actually don't. But I definitely don't want to be around you." Giving a mock salute, Elijah began to walk away again. But, once more, Piercing Guy grabbed his shoulder and spun around. Elijah had enough experience in fights to know that, once someone spun you around a second time, things were probably going to go down.

Lifting his arms, he blocked the punch aimed for the side of his head. He grabbed the man's fist and placed his arm over his shoulder, and pushed up. He could tell he had pulled Piercing Guy off the ground as the weight increased. With a swift movement, he flipped his opponent over his shoulder. The man hit the ground with a thud, and he groaned in pain. Elijah flipped him onto his stomach and knelt on his back with one knee. The man yelped, but Elijah wasn't done with him. Gripping the man's other arm, he pulled it and, with a sharp snap, bent it severely. Almost like an origami folding.

The man screamed in pain, shouting out swears that fell on Elijah's deaf ears. Standing back up, the shipwright did a mock bow. "
Have a good night, buddy. You should probably go see a doctor about that arm." Chuckling, Elijah turned away again, and hopefully for the last time for that man.

He stopped, though, when he heard an explosion in the distance. He froze, understanding the sound immediately. He wasn't that far from the pier he had parked his ship, and that definitely sounded like his remote cannons, at least one of them being fired. His head turned tot he direction of the soudn, and he broke out into a dead sprint, a look of anger on his face. 'I'll break whoever had the idea to board my ship without permission...'

He soon got to the pier, and he made his way to his ship as fast as possible. As he got closer, he saw that damage had already been caused. A ship that was tied up next to his had a large hole in the side, where a cannonball had probably hit it. Groaning, Elijah got close to the hull, feeling along it until he found the grooves that allowed him an easy way to get up. It was also faster than going all the way to the boarding platform. He scaled the hull until he reached the deck. His eyes immediately caught on to the man sitting behind the railing.

Elijah stalked quickly over to him, his teeth grinding. "Hey! You! What the hell do you think you're doing here?! Was that you who set off the cannons?!" Elijah looked over the railing at the hole, and silently stared at it for a few moments. Afterwards, he shrugged his shoulders. "Well, they can't complain to me about the damage, I guess. They should have a stronger hull if they want to avoid trouble like this." His eyes then turned back to the slightly younger man. "Now, you better think of a good reason for me not to drown your sorry ass. And don't think about trying to run away. I'm too stubborn to let you get away from me, alright? So, talk."

Cait Merlin

As Cait waited for a reply from her captain, she turned her attention to the young woman who walked onto the ship. The newcomer seemed just as mesmerized with the Lucky Nova as she was. Cait flashed Ren a grin as she announced her interest in joining the crew and that she could cook. Cait started to imagine the various dishes that the crew could enjoy. With her fisherman experience she thought she'd make a great team with Ren and it would be nice to have another woman around.

"We need a cook right?" she asked Captain Sora. "You're the captain, Sora, but my vote is ye..." BOOM! Cait found herself laying on the deck beside her guitar case before she could finish talking about her acceptance of Ren. She ran over to the ship's railing and saw a cannon-caused hole in the Lucky Nova. She also saw a young man being reprimanded by who she assumed was the owner of the cannon-firing ship. Apparently the two men weren't associated with each other.

"Looks like we'll need to add shipwright to the list," she told Sora with a sigh. Hopefully the Lucky Nova lived up to her name. If the damage wasn't bad they could leave the island sooner. Cait enjoyed the company she was with, but she really wanted to start the search for the One Piece sooner than later so that they could travel to Fishman Island.

Cletus T. Bass

Cletus let out a low grumble as he smoked. Of course he had guessed incorrectly. "I stand corrected...," he grumbled. "You make sure the ship doesn't crash into anything, and I'll make sure that she doesn't sink on ya. Though you might as well be an honorary crewmate with an arrangement like this." He took a long drag on his cigarette as Nerva asked if the Charybdis used to me a Marine vessel. He let out a disbelieving chuckle. He hadn't looked close enough at the Charydbis to know her like the back of his hand, but he doubted that she was a Marine ship. It would have been impossible for a crewless Scarlet to steal her.

Cletus was about to vocalize his objections when he heard a cannon explode somewhere else on the docks. With Spaghetti Western reflexes, Cletus pulled out his revolver. "I've been wrong before, but if there are any Marine ships out here, I think we just heard one fire a cannonball," he said as he looked toward where he heard the cannon boom. "Where's Captain Scarlet?" he asked, turning to Jasper. "If that was a Marine shot, we're going to need her here."

William

William smiled at Kenji. "Aye Aye Captain" He said as he whipped out two pistols and threw them up into the air. He then took out another two and shot at two of the goons that were with Jack. "Haha, One shot Flintlocks wont do you much good in a fight against several people" one of the men said aiming their gun at William. By then the other two guns were on their way back down. William dropped his two pistols and put his hands up in the air.

William then smiled as he caught his two pistols that he had thrown up and shot at another two men, hitting them in spots that would keep them down for a while. He then took out his Cutlass and began a sword fight with another near by pirate.

By the time he had finished his little fight with the pirates Kenji had also finished up. He had seen Kenji fight a little bit while he was enjoying his own little battle. He gained a little bit more respect for his new captain as he watched him, knowing now that he hadn't joined the crew of someone who was weak and could get injured easily. "So cap'n Where to next?" he said with a grin.
