Marauders in Mirstone

KYOKO RINNE

Kyoko enjoying the view while it lasted... Well, for the rest of her life, of course. Though as she strolled, unfortunately, her immersion was rudely disturbed by someone as Kyo stumbled from impact but quickly rebalanced herself. She checked her ingredients for any damage that could cause the food to taste worse- Kyoko was a perfectionist, a behavior she unexpectedly caught out of nowhere, though it helped her become more focused and serious when it came to cooking and preparing, anything out of place was a red flag for her, both utensils and produce- luckily, nothing was seriously damaged.

But she quickly realized that the other person was also affected by this as well, and it would seem a little rude to whoever Kyo bumped into be examining their food first rather than the being next to her
, "Hey kid, you alright? Came out of nowhere but nothing to cry over about, am I right?" She seemed mostly harmless and nothing sketchy about her either. Though she hasn't seen her before,- well, Kyo wouldn't really remember everyone's faces so of course she hasn't seen her before- Kyo couldn't really tell if she was a local or one of them tourists, but she at least had manners, something probably a tourist wouldn't have in this day in age. A teenage girl who has undoubtedly red hair, short in height, ragged cloths as well.

There was nothing else to go on about her, just your typical pedestrian walking around town, though she had both a face of apologetic and adrift, something anyone would have if it was their first time here, but again, Kyoko couldn't really conclude her being astray but maybe "out-of-place" for the moment
, "You lost or something kid? What's your name first? Don't wanna keep being called kid like that, am I right" Kyoko was going easy on her, something she hasn't done in years but it was nothing to freight over about, might as well get along with someone other than her boss.

Norman Newman, Astonished Assassin!

Norman was still walking for a few steps before he realized Ship Lady was no longer following. In fact it sounded like she'd walked back over to Mister Grumps. He blinked in surprised wondering why she would do that, and heard an odd jingling sound. He scratched the back of his neck as he turned around casually.

As he did Mister Grump seemed to toss something towards his face on a chain. He scatched a bit further down his neck before realizing what it was. He had just tossed one of those little thin containers captain's always seem to be getting drunk from. A flasp? A clask? He couldn't remember what they were called.

But suddenly Mister Grumps yanked it back to himself and took a drink. He even smiled and everything. Normans eyes widened in... excitement! "That was coooool! So your not totally grumpy after all! You just wanted to show me some tricks is all. Yknow, you're all right Mister Notso Grumps." He gave him a big smile.

As he did so he let go of the handle of a throwing knife strapped down his neck. Instead he took hold of his kusarigama at both ends, looking at them and pondering what to tie to them to do that trick later. He blinked, realizing he was supposed to be doing something. "Uhhhhh, oh yeah! Okay, let's go to the kitchen!" He turned back around, picking his teeth with his kusarigamas blade as he led them to the kitchen below deck.

Narivena Veulence

For a long while, Narivena was lost in her own notes and thoughts, completely focused on drawing whatever details she had gathered from the island's topography. She held her compass firmly in hand and used it mainly to be sure where to pinpoint each of the locations she had found during her time sightseeing the area. Unfortunately, she had not been able to travel too far from the center of Mirstone, but she had found the outskirts on one side and a thick forest covering another side. Though her curiosity pushed her to question what was where she had not yet been, she had taken her good time here in Mirstone for a change in order to get as much as possible correct considering the map and her attempts to make her skills as a cartographer and navigator better. Her thumb ran over the glass on her compass and she tapped the paper with the dry end of her inked brush in thought.

What
was her plans when she left this island? Until now, she had simply traveled from island to island in search for adventure and new experiences - but she could not do that forever, could she? The dream she had had for the longest time was a long reach from here as she would not only have to enter the Grand Line, but also pick a side. Pirate, Navy or.. Neutral. Neutral hardly ever happened, so she would have to pick a side. Even then.. The Grand Line was large - and each of the Blues were vast in size. How could she create a map of the entirety of the world with such large distances and only a life-time to fullfill it? She could always copy other people's work, but she always found mistakes and wrongs, or things that would annoy her with other people's maps as they were not drawn after what she preferred. A deep sigh left her lips as she gently drew another line on the paper in front of her.

“You’re drawing a map?”

The voice caught Narivena off-guard. An unusual surprise for her keen ears and observant eyes. A chill went down her spine by the surprise, and she felt her hand on the hilt of her Tantō in mere seconds. Rattling of chains made her turn her head to see two women surprisingly close to her, approaching her rather quickly. Well, the woman with the ribbon approached her without hesitation - but the young girl in the back seemed to be trotting after her. Despite their appearances, Narivena felt uneasy. The aura about them both were powerful. Powerful and mysterious. A small smile lurked in the corner of her lips. Challenging and interesting.

The woman asked about the map to the One Piece as she eyed the map Narivena had in front of her. Narivena let go of the hilt and slowly covered her treasure with the palm of her hand, careful not to touch the still drying ink. It was obvious the piece of paper was an important item to her.
" If I happened to have the map to the One Piece, what's it to you?" Narivena replied in a calm tone and gently shoved the map out of sight for the woman. She did not feel the need to be on the defensive around these two, but with the vast amount of people on this island she had learnt to defend her own interests and treasures. Perhaps she could get some more intel on the map everybody was searching for. The worth of it would be a good start.

" What would you do to get it?" she added quickly, not responding to whether she actually had the map or not - secrets and mystery could be a powerful weapon if handled correctly. Though she did not want to get off on the wrong side with this woman to begin with, Narivena still had her own interests to take care of before anything. As she asked the question, her eyes peered over the woman's shoulder to the girl in the back, her eyes narrow as she tried to get a read of the white-haired girl before her gaze switched back to the brunette - the obviously more sociable of the two.

Location: Hiding

Age: 12

Gender: Female

Though she had been slightly terrified at first when she started contemplating all the things that could go wrong after running into someone on an island flooded with pirates, Abigail’s mind was swiftly assured at the woman’s first words to her. ‘Nothing to cry over…’ Those words in particular rang through the young girl’s mind, echoing over and over again as she tried to make sense of their meaning in the context of her own experiences.

“Right…” she agreed, though her tone came off hesitant and cautious at best.

Briefly, the girl glanced back over her shoulder and her head moved from side to side as she tried to peek through the wandering people. A small sigh escaped her when she saw that there was no one noticeably pursuing her. Then her attention turned back to the woman again.

“Kid… I’m actually used to that,” a slight smile tickled the girl’s lips though she was still clearly nervous as well. “I used to be called Abby by my friends. At least, I don’t think that was a dream.” She touched a finger to her lips as she seemed to think about it for a moment and then she nodded firmly. “Abby will do, I think.”

She tossed another quick glance behind her, clearly watching for something.

@UdonIrvine47

Scarlet Johanna Indigrid

A bright smile spread across the brunette’s face. “If you happened to have the map to the One Piece, I’d ask you what I’d have to do to get it from you,” Scarlet answered, not allowing a second’s delay between the woman concluding her question and her own interruption to answer it. The concept of getting her hands on the map simply wasn’t something she could delay progress in attaining and the way this woman was talking, Scarlet found herself getting hopeful.

“As for what I would do to get it…” This one actually took a moment of concentration on her behalf. She took about a half step back and ran a hand through the thickness of her hair as she thought about it. “Well, first I would just ask if I could buy it off you. I’d offer to buy it, I’d offer to work for it. Hmm… I would offer to let you join my pirate crew and go with us to find it… I’d fight you for it if I had to or if you wanted me to, but I guess I really wouldn’t like that too much…”

Allowing her own words to settle within her mind, a thought occurred to her.
“Does the fact that I wouldn’t steal it from you make me a bad pirate?” Her attention glanced back to Harleen for a moment as she truly wondered about it, before stomping her foot in a minor tantrum. “Dammit! This is why we need a thief in our crew!”

Getting over that rather quickly, she asked,
“So, do you have the map?”

Kaito Yushida

The air was thick, although it was a clear sunny day, the humidity was high, it would probably rain soon, or so Kaito though as he walked down the streets of the town called Mirstone. The town its self was built by pirates, the buildings were well built and the town itself was in a buzz over a map to the one piece.
Raftel He thought. The island where the one piece was apparently left to, at the end of the grand line. The truth to the void century was also suppose to be there, or so all the books and information he had read on the void century had said.

Kaito continued on his way through the streets. He passed the same shops he did every day, saw all the familiar faces. For the last 6 months hes been in Mirstone he had been staying in a crappy apartment and working at a crappy bar. Not as a bar tender of course, he had no skill at mixing drinks and hardly any at socializing. No, He had been working as a bouncer. As skilled as he was with guns he was hired on without much thought but he hated it there, but it made him a little bit of money.

And today was his day off. He planed on spending his day just roaming around Mirstone, possibly taking breaks here and there to read a new book he had bought. Kaito did wonder though, what it would be like to travel with a pirate crew. If he were to travel with one he could have a chance to go find Raftel. He wanted to know, what happened during the void century.

Kaito walked past some thugs who were picking on a woman, pushing her around and such. Kaito took his gun out and smiled.

A shot rang off. A man screamed as blood shot out of his shoulder. Two other men turned around to look at Kaito. The shell of the bullet hit the ground. "
You Bastard!" on shouted running after Kaito. He went to grab Kaito but felt something press against his gut as he got close. Another shot rang off. Kaito had already drawn his other pistol and shot the other man.

The third man look at Kaito as he drew a blade. He pressed it to the womans neck, which aggravated him enough to shoot the man three times in the head. He walked over to the girl and held out his hand. "
You okay?" He asked. She nodded then ran on. It seemed that in that short amount of time Kaito had gathered a small crowd around where he was standing. But this wasn't strange to the mirstone residents and they just went on, and went about their daily lives.

Kaito walked down to the market area of town and sat down on a bench to begin reading his book. He looked up and seen a sign with 'Cooking Contest' written on it and decided that later it might be fun to try some of the food from the cooks. He flipped open the page to his book and began to read.

William Kidd

"
Oi, What do you mean all the Rums gone??" William asked practically shouting at the bartender. "I mean this town is full of pirates so we ran out of rum" The bartender replied. "Dammit" Said William who had been hoping to get a drink before he went looking for another crew to sail with, seeing as his previous crew had given up on the grandline and there was nothing better for him to do. He walked over to a table where several men sat playing cards. "Deal me in" he said sitting down. The men looked at him and dealt him his cards. He took a careful look at his cards and when no one was looking he began to switch out his cards.

After a few winnings and a pocket full of gold one man across the table looked at him. "
You cheated!" He shouted and all the others stood drawing blades. He smiled and pointed to him self. "Pirate" he simply said.

William ran from the bar with all the gold he could carry as several men chased him down. He quickly turned into a alley way. The others followed. When they turned in they found no sign of William, and the alley led to a dead end. There was a brick wall there, high enough for anyone with skill to run up it and grab the ledge. "
Come on he must have gotten to the other side" one said and all but one left, only taking a second to look around before leaving. But as he was about to leave a coin hit the ground. Up above him William sat across a wooden plank, that was conveniently located across two window ledges and a pipe that William had climbed up. "Oh lucky you you found me, here have a prize" he said in a sarcastic voice as he took out on of his flintlock and threw it at the man below, knocking him out.

He walked out of the alley way dusting himself off. He began to walk down the streets until he came across several men and a woman who were talking in the streets, one carried two swords. He was talking to the other two about being in a pirate crew.

"
Ahoy there mate. I heard you mention that you were the captain of a pirate crew" He said. He looked at the other two who looked like kids and flashed a quick smile to them. "I myself am looking for a pirate crew to join" He said. "The Name is William Kidd, I just so happen to be a doctor too" he said.

Sétanta Igramo'El

Oh ... right. The dwarf lady was still on his shoulder. He was so pumped about this whole adventure that he simply forgot to put here down. Being Seth was so confusing sometimes. Somehow he had assumed she would magically teleport to the ground or something, it was a dream after all. Or that she could just get down by herself. Or that she would take her awesome rocket jet pack and- Oh, wait, I'm still running, aren't I? He came to a sudden halt, almost throwing Keya from his shoulder. 'Sorry, Keya,' he said. 'I wouldn't want to win by cheating of course. I don't need to make you sick to win.' He picked her up by her clothes and put her gently on the ground. 'If you're so confident about racing me, maybe we should add another element. You do not just have to get there first, but you also have to take down as much annoying people as possible in the process. We don't count as annoying of course, since we are both awesome! So ...' He picked one of his darts and shot it at a nearby lady, who fell down after having this flabbergasted expression on her face. Seth laughed. 'You better start counting since I'm currently in the lead! Ready ... go!' Once again he took of without waiting for Keya's reply.

Pfffft! 'Two!' Pfffft! 'Three!' Pfffft! Pfffft! 'Four! Five!' Seth laughed maniacally. Around him people dropped to the ground. Other people started screaming and running. It was a complete chaos, just the way Seth liked things. A merchant was quivering while he tried to look confident with a big stick in his hand. 'You bloody rascal! I'll teach you a lesson.' He said. Seth bit:'I hate it when people try to teach a lesson. Lessons can only be learned when you experience them! I'll show you how it works. What do you think happens when I knock you down?' He grabbed his pipe like a Jo, ready to slash. He waited patiently for an answer. The man looked confused, no one ever disagreed to the fact that this was how teaching a lesson worked. He didn't know what to say, but replied anyway, just so that the boy didn't have the last word. 'Ehm ... You ... ehm ... I'll give you a real good knock ... eh ... I mean beating.' Seth poked the man in his stomach. The man doubled over 'Wrong Answer! The right answer was: Six!' Seth said as he hit the man in the head. The man crumbled down on the pavement and didn't get up.

Meanwhile the street had cleared out. Seth giggled, he was really enjoying himself.
He checked his potion vials and darts. He had to ration a bit if he wanted to continue at his speed. He was already halfway through his bottle of Bullfrog Venom, so he should take it easy with making people black out. He did have more at his room in the inn, but he didn't feel like going there. He was having way to much fun. So, instead he had to come up with a different strategy. Laughter from a bar echoed over the empty street. A mischievous grin grew on Seth's face. Let's have some fun!

The doors creaked as Seth entered the bar. He quickly glanced over the tables. A big crew of wannabee pirates took up most of the space, about 27 mean- looking crooks. The bartender and waitress were laughing nervously as the biggest of the pirates made a joke. Seth saw that the big man was the captain. And his target. A family of four was cowering in a corner, too afraid to get away. Seth walked over. 'Move it! this table is mine now.' He said with a tone that was much friendlier than what he said. The father only needed one look in Seth's wild eye to see that it was probably better to go. Seth undid his eyepatch and winked at the man. That was quite enough. The man pushed his family to the exit as fast as he could. Seth usually wasn't this kind, but this family was clearly being bullied. Seth hated bullying. He didn't even want to taunt the big pirate, he didn't deserve it.

The crew was watching Seth anxiously as he slowly pulled out a dart and dipped it in a vial filled with a dark orange liquid. In the vial were pulverized Utan berries, made people go wild. Just as slowly he put the dart in his blowpipe. Some of the crew were about to get up when Seth suddenly sped up and shot the dart at the captain. 'Scarlet Hornet!' Seth shouted. The captain squatted his neck. 'What did you do, you foolish boy. I-' His voice went over in a loud roar. Most of the crew was still focused on Seth, but some were glancing their captain with fear in their eyes. Smart, but foolish boys! Seth grinned. The show was about to start!

Elijah Baden

Eli chewed on the end of his cigar, a glass of whiskey and a leaf of paper sitting in front of him. The sounds of others telling stories and laughing at jokes that probably weren't even funny. Well, at least no one was bothering him yet. He needed to work on more improvements to his ship, including a name. He had been sailing for some time now, and he needed a name for his vessel. He felt so attached to it, it felt wrong to refer to it only as 'my ship' or something silly like that. Other than that, some mechanical additions were in order, as well as a new figurehead. The previous one had fallen off in a chase, with the Marines having blown it off with a stray cannonball.

Taking the cigar out of his mouth, he took a huge swig of his drink. While the glass, which was about the size of his hand, had been full nearly to the top just moments ago, only had about half of the amount of liquid in it left. Eli took another drag on his cigar as he waited for the buzz to hit him. He always felt like he worked better when he began to get tipsy, though it usually took quite a bit of alcohol to get him to the point of being drunk off of his ass. Which was good. Getting drunk on the seas is not a wise idea, especially when Eli sailed around aimlessly, with no clear point. Well, there was a destination he had in mind, but how to get there, he had no clue on how to do.

Picking up his pen, Eli crossed off 'Free Spirit'. The name sounded too bright and cheery to be the ship of someone as rough and aggressive as Eli. And he doubted any pirates would want to sail off on a ship that sounded like some sort of family cruise boat. And he needed allies, cause he doubted he could survive any longer on the ocean. He had no structure to how he lived on deck, and with him just drifting over the waves, he was bound to get lost in more open waters.

Eli's attention was grabbed by a man who seemed upset by the lack of rum in the establishment. He didn't understand why he wouldn't get any other drink, such as the whiskey he held in his hand (though he had tasted better in the past), but he was interested in how the man would react. But he seemed rather calm about the situation, and instead walked over to play poker with a few patrons. Eli watched him play, taking another swig of whiskey as he tossed his cigar into an ashtray set up not far from him.

Eli noted how he played, switching his cards around when the men weren't paying enough attention. Grinning, Eli tapped the counter for another glass of whiskey. Eli had cheated plenty of times in poker, so noticing other people cheating wasn't that difficult to him. He had to learn how to cheat so he could win the money to keep
maintenance up on his ship, so he really didn't feel bad about it. It was always people with bad attitudes he tended to cheat with. After a few hands, the men caught on with what the mystery man was doing, and after the man uttered that he was a pirate, they proceeded to chase him out of the bar.

Eli sat for a moment after they left, and he downed his entire glass of whiskey, slamming it onto the table and standing up. He dropped a few coins onto the table. "
Give me a bottle of whatever this can buy, bud. Keep whatever change you want."

The bartender handed Eli a bottle of brandy, and the shipwright weighed the bottle in his hands before grabbing his notes from the table, stuffing them in the pocket of his coat. Dipping his head quickly to the man, he began walking out of the bar. As he was about to exit, though, he bumped into a large, burly man who was coming in. He growled, shoving Eli to the ground. "
What's the big idea, bub? Watch where you're going."

As he started to walk past him, Eli leapt up, flipping the bottle in his hands and swinging it. The bottle whistled as it cut through the air, and it shattered into a hundred pieces as it collided with the back of the man's head. Brandy splashed everywhere as the man stumbled forwards into a table that a group of young men were sitting at. He crashed into the table, it breaking under his tremendous weight. The bar went silent as they stared at Eli.

He stood there, a bored look on his face. When he noticed that everyone was looking at him, he shrugged his shoulders, giving them all a look back that said 'What are you looking at?' A few patrons reached for weapons, but Eli was already gone, walking down the street, feeling happy with himself. He stopped by a store and bought a pack of cigarettes and cigars, putting the cigars in one of his pockets and lighting one of the cigarettes. He scratched his head, groaning. "
Damn. Feel bad for that guy for running into me." He laughed, scanning the area around him. "Now, now...if I were a group of pirates who needed a shipwright, where would I be hiding?"

Cletus T. Bass

"Where the hell did they go?" Cletus muttered to himself. He figured it would take him awhile to find his Captain in a crowd like this, but that didn't make the search any more frustrating. He should have traded Transponder Snail numbers. Not that he had one. Captain Scarlet probably didn't either.

Cletus stopped walking and started to get his barrings. First he checked his weapons. Revolver, check. Rifle, check. Flashbangs...check, everything was still where it should be. Scanning the crowd, Cletus eventually spotted a young woman talking to a shifty eyed girl. The kid seemed worried about something. Could she be the thief that Captain Scarlet was looking for. She seemed a bit young to be a pirate, but if that's who the Captain was after, Cletus supposed she could double as the cabin girl.

Cletus started to walk toward Abigail and Kyoko. "Hey kid," he said to Abigail once he was standing beside her. The grumpy frown on his face could be seen as intimidating. The visible holstered weapons probably wouldn't help much either. "You wouldn't happen to be the thief my Captain wants to hire, would ya?" After gruffly asking the question, Cletus glanced over at Kyoko. He pushed up the brim of his hat with his thumb. "Missy," he said, acknowledging that Kyoko was also beside him. The gruff way he said it made it seem like a half-hearted statement, like he did it only because it was the polite thing to do.

Stacy Beauregard

Though Stacy had expected her actions to have some small effect on Syrin’s actions, she had still expected some sign of his frustration when Norman uttered the word that had set him off before. Surprisingly, there was no such thing. Her eyes watched his movements, his posture, any subtle changes in the way he carried himself, almost waiting for some sort of delayed reaction. There simply wasn’t the slightest thing though.

“Hmm.”

Remaining silent at his gesture for quiet, Stacy’s curiosity peaked as she realized that while he hadn’t reacted at all, he must have something else in mind. It really was a brilliant scheme. Her eyes could see just from judging the length of the chain that it was simply too short to actually hit the nuisance, but enough to be an amusing gesture nonetheless. A smile creeped onto her face as she continued observing.

Even though she knew it wouldn’t hit, Stacy still found herself nearly jumping when it got close. Something about seeing another person nearly get whacked in the back of the head was oddly exciting. Him pulling it back and smirking briefly was even more amusing as she watched. She found herself actually laughing. Stacy couldn’t remember the last time that had happened. It was nice.

Norman’s reaction was even more intriguing.

“I dunno… I think I liked the old name better,” she couldn’t contain the comment amidst a fit of chuckles. Her eyes glanced to Syrin with an apologetic expression, trying to convey that she was just teasing although she wasn’t sure how successful she was.

Calming herself down quickly, she followed Norman down the stairs towards the kitchen wondering now more than ever what could’ve possibly happened to cause an explosion on a ship’s kitchen.

KYOKO RINNE

Kyoko studying her movement for a bit, she kept looking back at something when she had the chance to but Kyo couldn't really tell what she was looking for. Or who she was looking for. "Abby, is it? Hmm, the name fits you." Though Kyoko couldn't understand what she meant by, "At least, I don't think that was a dream." Did she not know her own name and just called herself "Abby"? Kyo didn't really want to dig in her past right now. It had nothing to do with her and that was somewhat of her own problem to solve.

Right now, they were standing around in the middle of the road as some people looked at the two loiters but kept their eyes to themselves and just walked past by as if they weren't there. Kyoko somewhat knowing that the girl Abby, was being cautious of something or someone out there, and standing out in the open would probably make her more paranoid. But it seemed she felt a little comfortable being with someone different than whoever she met to make her this fidgety. She took the chance to keep her company until Kyo felt like she could possibly take care of herself from there on out.

But as soon as Kyoko was about to say something to Abby, a man approached from the crowd and into their circle. Kyo didn't know what to make out of this guy, but he asked for the girl, it had to be, why would the man then even ask for Abby in the first place. Though he didn't seem he wanted to be forceful especially out in the open, but this is a pirate island, pirates wouldn't care about a little attention, they probably loved it. Kyoko stood a little closer to Abby
, "Hey Abby, you know this guy? He's kinda getting in the way in our little conversation, isn't he?."

Xiao walked towards his destination: the place where he left his bag. There were some people following him, but he pretended that he didn't notice. He seemed carefree, but he trully wasn't. From the sounds they made, and from their smell, Xiao could deduce that the people who followed him where 3 and that they were all men.

As he finally reached his destination, Xiao took the bag from where it was hidden, turned around and attempted to leave. But the three men blocked his way. They were all muscular, tall, and armed with swords.

"Hey there you fat panda, won't you come with us, so we could talk some...business?" asked one of them rethorically and sarcastically, while the others laughed. What the three of them wanted was obvious to the panda. Needless to say, Xiao was used to this situation: people wanting to use him as a source of income, or as a lab experiment, and beliving he was an easy target. They didn't know about the money in the bag. They wanted Xiao himself. The men probably saw him and heard him speak before, so they followed Xiao in an attempt to capture him.

Normally, the panda would deal with this in a calm manner...but...but those bastards called him fat...

Alfa Presence. One of Xiao's techniques. While it seemed that it was pretty much the act of emitting bloodlust, but it wasn't just bloodlust. Xiao also put the force of his own will into this peculiar type of killing intent. Fear would be struck withing those with weaker wills than the panda. Xiao looked at the three men with cold eyes that pierced like daggers.

The three men felt an unnatural level of fear. They could no longer stay on their feet and fell to the ground. They froze as they saw the panda walk towards them and put their hands up in a defensive way while leaving out a pathetic scream. But Xiao simply walked past them. Not worth his time. He simply continued to walk towards the docks, where he'd meet his new captain, and, subsequently, his new crew.

Narivena Veulence

This woman was more talkative than Narivena had anticipated at first, but she was no less interesting. Despite being a quick and effective talker, she did not reveal much of herself. That was her first impression, at least. A strong woman, with determination and - seemingly - power to fulfill. At first, it had seemed like a joke - the woman's wish to find the map to the One Piece, that is - but Narivena was surprised by the response she was given.

A smirk snuck over Narivena's lips at the mention of a pirate crew. Not a big surprise to find pirates on this crowded island, but this woman seemed to be the
Captain of one. An opportunity to get away from this island and onto the next one. Though she still had not yet asked herself if she wanted to be a pirate, the experience could be.. Intriguing. " You pirates?" It was more a confirmation rather than a question, and it was directed more to the white-haired girl behind the one she was having a conversation with. Though Narivena had learnt not to judge from appearences, the girl did not seem like a pirate to her.

" Can't do everything. You win some, you lose some." Narivena shrugged with an askew smile to the woman's mention of not wanting to steal from her. As she finally asked Narivena if she had the map, she started to gather up her equipment and tools into her bag again.

" Unfortunately, I don't. Yet. However, if you grant me passage on your ship to whatever next destination you have, I'd be willing to help you find it. Or information about it, if that's of any help. I can navigate, if that makes the decision easier," Narivena raised an eyebrow and ran her eyes searchingly over the woman in front of her before glancing over to the girl behind her. They seemed trustworthy enough, and she doubted they would find the map. Her interests were to get passage off this island to the next. Once her things were all gathered up and safe in her bags, she reached out her hand. " Narivena. Or just Nerva. So what's it gonna be?"

If not I might have to use you as shark and seaking bate when we get hungry" He said jokingly. "Oh by the way are you a local, I need to find a place in town" he said asking neither one of the three in particular, just hoping one of them was a local.

The kid's face had filled with joy when Kenji mentioned accepting him, but it fell just as quickly when he asked about sea-based relevant skills. Because, of course, Mal had none. Instead of letting that defeat him, though, the blonde grinned. Kenji had already accepted him, so Mal had a place with a crew, and nothing would keep him down.

"There's a few hotels and stuff around. Mostly downtown near the bars and stuff. Pretty nice Bed and Breakfast near the docks, I hear, if that's more your speed: "Granny's Place". Sweet old lady.

"As to my skills,"
Mal stuck his thumb in his chest proudly, "I learn real fast! I'm also quick on my feet and good at not being seen."

He held out a hand, palm toward the late afternoon sky. An orange flame appeared, not hovering above his hand, but rather coming from it, as if his hand was burning. But Mal only grinned proudly.

"I can do this, too! Still figuring out everything I can do, fire-wise, but I'll bet I'll figure out some way to put it to use for ya on your ship!"

Mouth still stretched in a wide smile, he clenched his hand into a fist and lowered his arm.

"Oh! Speaking of, where's your ship at? Is it big? Goes it sail fast? I wanna see the boat I'm gonna be sailing on!"

NPC Notes

Location: Hiding

Age: 12

Gender: Female

Abigail nodded, a small smile creeping onto her face as she was told that her name suited her. Part of her was tempted to reply, “Of course it suits me. It is my name!” but she refrained from such a statement as she realized that it could be considered rude to say such a thing. She really didn’t want to be rude at a time like this.

Once more she glanced over her shoulder.

In doing so, Abigail did not quite catch a glimpse of Cletus as he approached. Hearing him speak caused the small girl to jump back a few steps, her hand flying to her back pocket in an almost protective manner at the words he spoke.
“Thief? I’m not a thief!” she asserted the point strongly and loudly. “I’m not a thief so if you’re looking for a thief, you can go somewhere else!” Abigail repeated herself. Clearly that implication bothered her to an extensive degree.

Her eyes drifted back to Kyoko as she spoke once more and Abigail found herself nodding at the statement the woman made.
“And he’s not very nice, either. I don’t look like a thief, do I?” She really hoped the answer was no, but at the same time, Abigail was looking for an honest answer.

Cletus T. Bass

Cletus let out a low growl of annoyance. He lit a cigarette with his silver lighter and began to smoke. "Suit yourself, you're an 'Acquirer of Goods' then," he said to Abigail after she denied being a thief. The girl could be telling the truth about not being a thief, or maybe she just hated the label. Though there was a third possibility. Abigail might not be the "Acquirer of Goods" that Scarlet was looking for.

"Maybe you're telling the truth, but even if your not the 'Acquirer of Goods' that I'm looking for, you look worried about something." Cletus took a drag on his cigarette. "And seeing that I'm armed to the teeth, I believe it's in your best interest to lie and come with me. The longer you stand around here the more likely whatever you're worried about will catch up to ya," he added in a grumpy, commanding tone.

Cletus turned his attention to Kyoko. "If you want to come and continue your conversation, I ain't gonna stop ya." As he tried to grumpily persuade the two females to follow him back to the Charybdis, something was happening deep down inside Cletus that they probably weren't aware of. Maybe it was because he never settled down and had kids of his own, or maybe he didn't like the idea of a child running through the crowd like an angry bear was going to pounce on her at any second. Either way, Cletus was showing a bit of his teddy bear side.

KYOKO RINNE

Kyoko swatting the smoke away from her face, "Not only rude but arrogant as well. Who taught you to speak to ladies like that?" Her voice now firm and clear, Kyoko was getting just as annoyed as Cletus, as well as moody from this confrontation and now he demanded they go along with his orders?! After a introduction like that, Kyo wasn't up for a "jolly cooperation", she didn't want to make a scene as bad as this but she didn't want to run away from a fight either. Her "Zen" way was making her decide to be either the instigator or instigated, though she didn't show any movement of readying any weapon or stance to be cautious of, only her voice was the weapon drawn out of its sheath. For now.

She replied to Abigail
, "Well, you look like any regular girl out there, don't you think so too? For now, I'm just going with my zen and trusting you on this. And you. Old man. That sounds more like a threat then I ever heard before. You've got balls to order people around, but I won't decide for her, I know my place and I won't step over the line until I know for sure." Kyoko then stood in front of Abby acting like a shield with a hand on her hip, "So Abby, what's your plan? Ya gonna go quietly with him or deny his request? I'm not gonna stop you from either choice but, just this once, I'll help you if you ask me." Those words were now something Kyoko couldn't undo, she hoped trying to bluff would end the stalemate without any unnecessary actions occurring.

@Mitchs98
Keya Fenris

Keya was slowly feeling sicker and sicker as Seth ran. Maybe he didn't hear or maybe it was his plan all along to make her sick. It probably wasn't intentional, but she wasn't sure. What she did know was by the time he did stop running she was sick enough her grip loosened to the point she was almost flung off. Thankfully he picked her up and sat her down on the ground, if he hadn't she would of fell to it instead. She swayed slightly, holding her head with one hand and her stomach with the other. "
It's okay.." She replied shakily to his apology. She did feel mostly fine, just kind of dizzy.

She liked his new addition to the race, except for one thing; he cheated and started first! And before she properly regained her senses! "
Hey! No fair!" She shouted as she sped off after him, easily catching up to him..after accidentally running into someones fruit stand. She took down the people that were running away from him, none of them expecting a five inch high dwarf to zoom by and knock them off their feet. She had to admit, this was very fun. And pirates did this stuff sometimes, right? Seth looked like he could be a pirate, maybe after this he could help her find a crew. That'd just make all this even better!

She followed Seth into the bar, hiding her usually unnoticeable frame behind one of the stools as Seth taunted a gang of pirates. This guy was nuts! Okay, he had those darts and was pretty fast. But there was no way he could take all of them on! Little did she know one of them noticed her, tearing their focus between Seth and herself before eventually getting up and walking over to her. "Huh..? A dwarf?" He mumbled to himself, bending down and grabbing Keya by the shirt with two fingers causing her to freak the hell out and scream loud enough for the entire bar to hear. Which was a pretty big feat in and of itself due to how small she was. "
Lemme go! Lemme go!" She shouted, darting back and forth in his grip, frantically trying to grab his hand. The man simply laughed and walked back over to the others, "Look what I captured bo-" He only got halfway through his sentence before a cracking sound was heard followed by a blood curdling scream as he released her. "Should of let me go, jerk!" She shouted, as she hit the table with a light thud.

Nerissa Orta

Sitting at the end of a pier, near where a small canoo was docked, Nerissa’s bare feet dangled off the wooden platform as she playfully kicked the cool water, creating small splashes. It was late when she and her companion finally arrived at Mirestone. The sky was already growing a beautiful shade of pinkish orange as the glowing orb that lit the day neared the horizon, though not quite touching just yet. Her companion had gone ahead, to search for a place for them to stay, leaving the Priestess of Water alone in Mirestone’s port.

Well...not exactly alone.

There were pirates everywhere. Ships lined the docks, some large and grand while others as tiny as her canoo. Teal eyes flashed with interest as she studied boats. Truly it was hard to tell which were pirate ships and which were the ships of regular sailors. Would a pirate ship have flashy designs? A skull flag displayed proudly? Or would it be like any other boat?

“What do you think Mr. Fish?” Nerissa glanced down at young bass that tickled her toes. Letting out a bell-like giggle, Nerissa lightly kicked again. The sea creature dodged, weaving away from her feet before circling back. “What makes a pirate a pirate? Is it their clothes, their thug-like demeanor, the fact that they steal, or is it that they break the rules of sailing set out for them by the world government?”

If the latter was true, did that make Nerissa a pirate? She’d certainly never thought herself as one. However, Nerissa wasn’t against being a pirate either. It was an appealing thought, becoming like the Gentlemen Pirates and seeing the world. Perhaps she could run into Geraldo again. A wistful sigh escaped Nerissa’s throat and the blue haired girl shook her head. She wasn’t a young, forlorn girl, lost in love any longer. She knew the likelihood of finding Geraldo in the vast sea was one in a million. Chasing after a pirate wasn’t the reason she’d left Mirage Island.

Withdrawing her feet from the seawater, Nerissa slid her slippers back on her feet and stood. A passing breeze cooled her legs. They would dry in time. Not that Nerissa minded being wet. Dusting her skirt, Nerissa made her way off the pier. There was little use sitting around and waiting for Arlen to return. She ought question residents of Mirestone about the map to One Piece. Or, perhaps, a pirate...since they might know more.

A map to a legendary treasure, coveted by pirates all over the sea. Nerissa frowned, tucking stray locks of aquamarine hair behind her ear. Just like her companion said, it sounded too good to be true. He’d warned her to be cautious. That it could be a trap set by the marines. A trick, to lure pirates, hungry for treasure, to single island for capture. However, even if that were the case, Nerissa didn’t want doubt to stop her from moving forward. She wasn’t afraid of marines. Nor pirates. What she feared was living her life confined, never knowing the truth that lay beyond the small world she knew.

As luck would have it, Nerissa neared a conversation where One Piece was mentioned. The speakers appeared to be women. One was even wearing a bow. A relieved smile formed on the Water Priestess’s face and she approached the trio with more confidence. Not that she had anything against men, but from her experience, women were less likely to respond violently than their opposite sex. And Arlen could hardly fault her for striking up a conversation with a couple of innocent-looking females.

“Excuse me,” Nerissa cleared her throat. “I apologize if I’m interrupting anything important, but I couldn’t help overhearing mention of a map to One Piece.”

She glanced between the redhead on the crates and the brunette with a bow. There seemed to be some sort of deal going on. Normally it wasn’t in her nature to intrude a private conversation, but if either of them knew anything about the Pirate King’s legendary treasure, it would save her and Arlen a lot of time.

“Would either of you know anything about it?”

Syrin Insinu

As he executing his maneuver, he made sure to keep a close eye on what Norman did. He raised an eyebrow as he noted him scratching the back of his neck, and given that he claimed to be a ninja, he didn't doubt that he had weapons hidden on his person. Withholding a snort, he supposed that the so called ninja chef really did have a degree of skill in his chosen profession. Not that he doubted his ability to beat him, no, he had faced far to many Marines, mercenaries, and pirates alike to be felled by one measly ninja. Though, overconfidence could be his undoing, his point still stood. During all that, he noted out of the corner of his eye that Stacy was seemed fairly amused with his actions, even to the point of laughing. She had a nice laugh, he also noted.

Then a thought suddenly struck Syrin when he heard his new nickname. Under his breath he mumbled, "Hey, I'm Grump. And I'm Not-So-Grump." Then he blinked and realized exactly what he just did and suppressed a growl of annoyance at the alcohol that no doubt caused the lapse in his usual demeanor.

Shaking his head to get it out of the stupor it was stuck in, he tucked away his flask after unhooking it, and silently promised himself to lay off for a while we he regained his bearings. Rolling his left shoulder, he too commented on the new name that was given to him. "You know, I do like the old one as well. This new one is a bit of a mouthful, no?" With that said he slowly ambled after the two, wondering in the back of his mind how bad the kitchen would look.

The Bell Tower's Call

Ding. Dong.

Ding. Dong.

It was not a normal sound to pierce the air within Mirstone, but it was not unheard of either. The bell tower stood within the center of the town, a cobblestone circle surrounding it and creating something of a gathering place though it would've seemed that a place like Mirstone would have no need for such a thing. It existed nonetheless.

Scarlet's head promptly turned at the sound. Though she had heard what Narivena said, the sound was entirely distracting and she simply couldn't keep her attention off of it.
"Wait... the meeting... he said there would be a meeting at sunset, right Har..." Looking to where her companion had been, Scarlet promptly realized that the blonde was gone and she hadn't even noticed her slip away. "Hmm."

Though confused, Scarlet was too excited to dwell on it for too long and she brought her attention back to Narivena.
"And yes, I'm a pirate. I'm going to be the Queen of the Pirates, map or no map." She nodded her head briefly adding assertion to that statement. "And if you know how to use maps I'd be delighted to have you on my crew, but right now I've gotta go because there's a meeting where they might know more about the map." Standing up, Scarlet saw another woman approaching and she listened briefly. "You're asking about the map? I'm going to try to find out stuff. That's what the bell's for, I think. You can come if you want!" She didn't have more time to waste though and Scarlet waved before she started running towards the city once more, leaving the shore behind.

Promptly, Scarlet realized she'd left Narivena with nowhere to go. Calling back, she yelled,
"My ship's Charybdis! Tell Jasper that Lady Scarlet sent you!"

That matter being done and resolved as much as it could be, Scarlet continued running as the bells rung through the air one more time.

Ding. Dong.

The crowd was thick upon the cobblestone circle and it seemed that almost every pirate on the island could be there if they really wanted to be. Actually, that was kind of the point. The more people who were gathered, the more information there would be to collect.

"Alright mates! You all know why we're here! Someone said they had a map to the One Piece and we all want to find them. Now that we're here, it's nowhere to be found. Either we're all a bunch of idiots who are missing something obvious, or someone played us for fools! Tell me someone has something!" The speaker was Captain Ivan Duruss, leader of the Blackfish Pirates.

One man stepped forward. Tall and fairly bulky, he had a warhammer slung across his back.
"I've been in and out of every bar on the island. No one's heard anything since the rumors began."

"I've heard different. Someone said the map was reportedly seen a few days ago before the docks filled up. Said a pirate had it and was looking to sell to the highest bidder."

"HAH!"

Scarlet didn't realize she'd screamed out until she felt the eyes of literally every pirate at the meeting burning into her skin and wondering what exactly she intended to contribute beyond a loud outbursting chuckle. For a moment, she surveyed all of them trying to think of how she could best used this attention she'd acquired. She didn't think fast enough though because Captain Ivan butted in.

"Well, if everyone's got something different, someone's playing us."

"Agreed."

Another pirate stepped forward, this one older. An eye patch covered his left eye and he wore the signature pirate hat on his head as he pointed accusatorily towards the younger man with the hammer.
"I think the young one is lying!" the words escaped him in something close to a growl. "Trying to get everyone else to leave so he can find it and keep it all for himself!"

The younger lad slipped his hammer off his back, letting it rest in his hands as he turned to face the older man.
"You wanna say that to my face, gramps?"

"Better to leave the grand line to deal with you!"

The younger man marched forward, winding back the warhammer and preparing to send it flying forward when...

Another young man walked up to the pirate and looked at him out of the corner of his eyes.
"You know causing a brawl here is going to scare away the one with the map right? I mean, if you wish to ruin the chances your crew or any of us pirates getting that map then feel free to attack this man. However after everyones hard work, ending it on such a sour note would be a damn shame." The man said with a light smirk dancing on his lips.

The older man turned to the new one speaking.
"And what might you suggest mister...?" The way he said it implied that not only did he expect an answer, but he expected the man's name as well.

For the moment, the young man with the warhammer put his attack on hold as he also looked expectantly.

"Mister far too formal for me~ I'm Ryuu a captain of a pirate crew. And what I suggest is the simple game of patience. Now before you you try to attack me, hear me out. If the person who had the map wanted to use it, well we would have never know about the paper in the first place. The person who has it is on this island, and he's watching. I've likely spotted the person several times over." The man known as Ryuu said with a hum as he looked over at Ivan with his smirk gone as it changed to a calm smile.

"Hmm... you bring up a few points." His eyes turned to scan the ground, trying to guage for a reaction or a concensus. "Thoughts!? Speak now or forever hold your peace!"

A Raid

Footsteps walked along the sand, peering out to the docks and taking in the sight of each and every ship that remained tied to the shore at that given moment. There were quite a few of massive extent and the shore also contained quite a fair share of smaller beauties.

His cloak very nearly matched the blue of the water though it shimmered with a slightly darker shade as his footsteps carried him further along. Though it trailed along in the sand behind him, the hood remained down revealing a head of golden ruffled hair. Green eyes turned to look at the first extensive ship that fell upon his eyes. However, that one was a no-go. There was a boy on the deck of the ship. Someone who could call out a warning...

His eyes moved on.

Weston soon found himself facing another lovely vessel and this one had no noticable bodies.
'Perfect...' Footsteps quickened as Weston's path turned to take him onto the deck of the ship. Each footstep was just as silent as the last.

The deck was typical. Nothing was too exciting or exotic. No one really intentionally stored valuables in plain sight though so that wasn't disappointing in any way. Instead of taking in too much there, his feet carried him towards the Captain's Quarters on the main deck.

'Hmm... female captain,' he noted swiftly as he took in the general atmosphere of the room. Gems decorated a nightstand and he immediately beelined in that direction, collecting them in a small sack that he promptly sealed shut and slipped into a pocket.

Jasper had arrived to the ship a mere fifteen or so minutes earlier. Deciding that it was best to drop off all the the supplies and baked goods to the ship before searching for Lady Scarlet. He placed the hardware supplies for Mister Cletus in the storage room nearest what he supposed was now the men's quarters.

Following that he began storing the baked goods so they would not go stale prior to dinner. He had just finished putting the last thing away, the one the baker had given free of charge, when Jasper heard steps on the deck above. He blinked in surprise, but was happy nonetheless. This would spare him the question of protecting the ship or searching for Lady Scarlet.

Jasper immediately began making his way above deck. However he found no one aboard when he did. 'How odd,' He thought to himself. However he heard a rustling noise coming from Lady Scarlet's personal quarters. This made Jasper rather suspicious. Why would Lady Scarlet return without Mister Cletus or Miss Harleen? Something smelled fishy to him, and it was not the ocean.

He quickly crossed the deck and stood to the side of the door, hand on his weapons. If thus was a potential pirate or ship thief he would deal with them accordingly. If this was some sort of.... pervert searching through Lady Scarlets things he would
definitely deal with them accordingly. However, either way, he saw no reason he could not frighten them a bit for his own enjoyment.

At a sound beyond the door, Weston silently cursed himself. He always forgot that just because he didn't seen anyone didn't mean that they weren't still on board and that would always be his downfall. Ensuring that the small bag of goodies he'd collected was buried well, he turned around to face the door, his body slowly shifting towards the window as he waited.

Jasper listened for a short time in silence. Had he given himself away? Hm, well silence had not been a long practiced skill he supposed. However, messing with people's thoughts had. He formed a plan in short order that should allow him to spook this thief, and possibly any others looking to steal from his Lady.

Making sure to be loud and he stepped, he walked to the gangplank and disembarked as if to leave. However, once off board he turned to face the ship with a smirk. "Moon Walk." With a whispered word he began kicking off the air and seemingly climbing the sky. He stopped when he was directly above the ship. Here he could see any possible escape or backup as far as he could think of. Plus, what a delightful place to spook the thief from!

Footsteps carried whoever it was away. That was what Weston heard, at least. It didn't make sense and his gaze drifted to the window once more. He knew several things. He already had enough of a haul from this ship. There were more ships docked that probably had more to take. Getting off now was probably his best bet.

That being said, he pulled the clamps on the window, allowing it to slide open before he swung himself along the sill before gently shoving himself out.

Jasper waited patiently, Watching and listening for the thief to make his move. When he did it made plenty of sound, water splashing as the thief apparently jumped out Lady Scarlet's wimdow. Jaspers frown deepened as he looked to where the ripples seemed to be forming in the water. With a sigh for his ruined ideas he began bounding through the air towards the form moving away by sea.

His head poked above the water only seconds after he submersed and his head immediately looked back towards the ship to see if anyone had run in at the sound of his dive. Seeing no one, Weston swam towards the shore and climbed onto the dock once he was close enough. His hand went to his back pocket and the little pouch was still there. A smirk decorated his lips and his eyes turned to the other ships.

Jasper found the thiefs appearance a bit disappointing, as he did not appear like he was fight worthy. In fact, as he watched him from above it seemed he was scoping out who to hit next. We're Lady Scarlet's things not enough for the boy? And on top of that, what had he stolen?!

Jasper bounded down, stopping approximately five feet in front of, and four feet above the thief.
"You do know stealing is a rather petty crime. However, petty or not, it is rather stupid to steal from a Marine vessel of all places." A lie sure, but not technically wholly a lie. Jasper did reside there, and he was an ex-Marine. Besides, the moon walk technique alone should sell the story enough.

Weston swiftly shook his head.
"If there's a marine ship on this island, then the pirates would be on high alert, don't you think? Nice try, but any marine who set foot on this island would find themselves dead in an instant." He chuckled. "Nice try though."

Jasper raised an eyebrow at the seemingly cocky boy.
"Any Marine would be killed in an instant? You seriously believe that the cheap excuse for pirates on this island could threaten higher up Marines, thief? Besides, Marines don't always work on the open. Anyways, this is a very simple matter. Return what you have stolen and you can go raid some worthless pirate's boat, I could care less. Do not however..."

Jasper disappeared suddenly, reappearing behind the thief. He half drew his falchion.
"Well, I think you understand well enough."

"Fine."

It merely wasn't worth Weston's time. His hand slipped into his pocket, pulling out the pouch though he allowed his hand to quickly dip inside, slipping a single jewel into his grasp before he allowed the pouch to drop onto the dock.

Jasper watched him carefully as he dropped the pouch on the dock. Drawing his rapier he speared the top of the bag and lifted it to himself. Pocketing it and back stepping into the air in short order.
"Smart move, however. Should my Captain find anything amiss I will find you. Good day, thief." With that Jasper returned to the Charybdis. Lowering himself to the deck, he had come to the conclusion he should stay behind and guard the ship from any further potential thieves.

Sora Z. Lachance

When Cait snatched the barrel he has ever so casually been kicking. When she did he let out a soft laugh. "I thought she was getting food, forgot to give her the list didn't I? ...Stupid crowds." Shrugging this off he kept walking taking his own sweet time while Albi road on the barrel that Cait was carrying off. The red head didn't rush in the slightest as he stuck to the edges of the crowd and looked around. "Nice day today.... Noisy as well." He hummed on his eyes moving from spot to spot checking out places that he might visit at a later date, seeing as a lot of the stores were very appealing to the captain.

After a time he snapped out of it and noticed he was at the dock with Cait. "Right my ship, this way." He said as he started to lead the way to his ship that was some distance off. As he walked he ran into the Xaio and upon seeing the panda he smiled at him. "Good timing follow, so you know how the ship looks. Oh, her name is the Lucky Nova." He said with a grin as Albi hopped from Cait's barrel onto his shoulder. "Now I got water and some food supply, depending on how big the crew we are going to need more of both before leaving the island.

Something we aren't going to do till I got more news about that map and we get a few more crew members. Mainly a navigator, and a doctor. I can navigate but I'm not skilled enough to do the Grand Line."
He hummed as he walked on a bit more before coming to a stop.

When he stopped he turned and pointed straight ahead with a grin on his face. "That's the Lucky Nova, behold her in all her glory. Cost me three arms to get but she sails like a beaut. And I haven't seen a ship that matched her speed." He said pride evident in his words as he bragged about the ship. Whether the it preformed like he said it did...well that's for them to find out once they actually set sell.

He walked down the dock and got to the ship, just as he was about to board it he looked up and heard the dinging of some bells. "I wonder what's going on there.... Might check it out later." He said as he got on the boat and put the barrel down. Once he did he moved so they could get on. Placing his hands in his pocets while Albi rubbed his cheek he grinned brightly. "Want a tour or do you want to explore her on your own?"

Kibto Intinal

'Wha....Whats going on??' Kibto wondered as he looked around heavily confused for a moment as he watched the man behind him take a cupcake and start to eat it. He had forgotten the past five minutes so he was bit confused on his current situation and was even more confused when the white hair man said something about poison. "Join your crew? I what?????" He asked as he sniffed a bit while he closed his box of cupcakes and looked up at the man. "I...I guess? I don...don't know? I-If you wa-want my sword an-and dagger I-I'm sorry b-but you ca-ca-ca-ca- *Achoo*" With that loud sneeze he sniffed a bit...and now pushed his, black hair out of the way.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_06/Dark.Konoha.600.1798363.jpg.1a8f2810fe0e0fc05a7527479352ccde.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="133619" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_06/Dark.Konoha.600.1798363.jpg.1a8f2810fe0e0fc05a7527479352ccde.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Blinking several times he looked around and rolled his neck. "My neck is sore... Huh? Who the hell are you?" the boy that once had white hair, who now had black asked. He then went quiet as he looked at Mal who started to talk about what he could do. After a moment of silence the black haired boy looked at Kenji. "I need a ride off this rock, I want you to give me that ride. You got a boat from the sounds of it and flame boy here is a crew mate so you might not perish right away like the last or two ships." He said in a rude tone before he opened the box and started to munch down another one of the cupcakes rather hungrily. "Tch I don't eat enough, I want something meaty...." He mumbled to himself before glaring up at Kenji. "got a deal? You give me ride off this rock and poof you get someone to help you on deck for time."

Cait Merlin

Cait flashed her shark canine teeth in a toothy grin as her captain and Xiao arrived. "Ahoy there," she said as she gave them a friendly wave. The fishwoman/human hybrid walked up to her crewmates with a friendly, non-toothy grin plastered on her face. Her bond with them was already solid as far as she was concerned. She placed her guitar case against the Lucky Nova's railing before leaning back on the railing herself. Cait glanced around the deck of the ship that would hopefully bring her to Fishman Island one day.

The smile didn't leave her face as she took in the sites and sounds of the dock. The salty air, the seagulls, the sound of ocean waves, the gong of the bell, the Lucky Nova, she loved all of it. "She's a beaut alright," Cait replied, before continuing to listen to her captain. "Sounds like we have some time on our hands. A tour would be nice," she replied cheerfully. Cait then turned her attention to her panda friend. "What about you Xiao?"

Damian Havrick, Sellick Havrick, and Ferra McKlinnen

The fishing boat most recently tied to the dock creaked heavily as the towering man stepped off board. His armor clanged as he shifted and stretched with a deep yawn. He hefted

his sword up onto his shoulder with his right hand, removing his helmet as he inhaled deeply.
"Ah, finally brother. We have made land after many days at sea. It is good to have solid ground underneath my feet again!" Damian Havrick hefted his shield up and onto his back, stroking his beard with his gauntlet-clad hand.

A much smaller form with a large bow and quiver full of arrows hopped softly to the dock. His head tilted slightly to each side as he surveyed the area. HIs hand hovered at the dagger strapped to his leg, eyeing several passerby suspiciously. As he concluded that no one of particular threat was nearby he setlled into a more relaxed position. "Yes brother, I must agree it is good to not be stuck on such a tiny fishing boat any longer. Or soaking in the ocean I suppose. So, what shall we do now?"

Damian cracked his neck and eyed his vertically challenged older brother's eye through his mask. "Well I think I need a drink, how about you Sellick?"

Damian shifted his jaw back and forth in thought. In all honesty they should report back first, as their disappearance most likely had set off a few flags. However, an hour or two of humoring his brother would not likely be too much trouble. "Sounds like a fine idea brother, but perhaps putting your sword away might put the civilians at ease. Don't want them be afraid of us when we are simply passing through."

Damian nodded in acqueiscence. Reaching back and slipping his great sword through the straps on his armor, he shifted his shoulders as he accepted it's weight. Stopping a passerby he got the location of the nearest bar. "Alright brother. Let us be off to make merry." With a long, jubilant gait the armored man strode off to the bar. Leaving his older brother to follow silently in his footsteps per usual.

Ferra couldn't even tell how long she'd been watching the card match before her, but she knew for certain that each of the players was a cheat. Goggles, an ugly old git with, well, thick goggles, seemed to be adept at slipping cards into his sleeves. Monkey, the one with the pet of the same name, would periodically have his pet make a fuss. While the distraction took place Ferra caught him swapping out real and fake cards in his favour. Then there was Stinky, name need not be descibed, and he used his gluttonous habit of eating to swiftly snatch up or swap out cards while making a show of picking through his meal.

They were clever, but they were also trouble, and Ferra owed the barkeep a pretty penny for the aid she'd recieved when she'd first moved here to begin with. The game itself seemed to finally be reaching it's tipping point,Stinky having accidentally slid an Ace into his hand after having played all four three rounds back.

Moving quickly, Ferra lunged from her stool as swords and blades came out of their sheathes and holsters. Grabbing Stinky by the back of his putrid and fetid neck, she slammed the fat fellow down face first into the table before lifting her sabre to point at the other two.

"First one to make a move dies today. Other wise put the cards away, and the weapons down."

Taking a few minutes to properly see the group trudge out the door, Ferra moved back to her stool and lifted a bottle of rum to her lips, taking a large dreg. Pulling a slight face at the flavour, the former Navy Captain cast her eyes back towards the front door. At first she'd expected Stinky, Goggles or Monkey, but instead caught sight of a rather large fellow with a massive sword hung across his back, as well as another more akin to her own size from what she could tell, but she laregly expected him to be slightly taller.

Watching them for a moment, the woman decided they didn't seem like they were about to get into too much trouble, at least not if they had a brain between them, and returned to her liquor. At some point she also knew she needed to get up and head to her new ship and job, but she was certain she still had a touch longer, at least until the end of the day.

Damian brushed past a few unsightly types as they left the bar. One left a few disgusting smears on his otherwise polished armor. He made a sound of distaste with his mouth and grabbed a napkin off a nearly empty table, wiping his armor clean with it. As he did a light, hollow ringing sound met his ear. He turned to find Sellick tapping on his armor and pointing silently at the table in question.

Damian turned and found there was a woman already situated at the table, and he had just swiped her napkin without so much as a forethought. He bowed his head as much as he could in apology. "My apologies for taking your napkin." He lifted his head again and took in the sight of her clothing with a broad smile. "Oh, and another apology for not noticing a fellow officer. How does the day find you, miss?"

Ferra reacted little to the loss of her napkin. The only use it served was if she spilled her drink, and she'd shoot herself before spilled her drink. Overall the invention and its use was rendered moot and redundant, so she didn't actually care. Hell they could have taken the whole table and provided her rum wasn't gone with it she'd have not cared.

If there was anything that was bothering her, however, it was the fact that first and foremost, one of them had the gall to speak to her without at least having the courtesy to introduce himself. Then, secondly, it was the fact that he'd referred to her as a fellow officer. What in the nine hells were any officers doing here? At least any of the few uncorrupted officers. Reacting smoothly, she slipped a hand into her coinpurse and flipped some money onto the bar a metre or so away and snapped to get the barkeep's attention. Seconds later she was catching a new, full, bottle of rum.

"Dull, dreary, and filled with alcohol to my hearts content to be honest. I'd say it's a pleasure to meet you Officer," stopping for a moment Ferra motioned for the pair to sit with her, pushing out two other seats with her feet, "Well, Officer who hasn't identified himself. In fact anyone could tell I'm Navy, but unless you two are just asking to be thrown out the bar on your heads, I have no clue who you are or if you are officers. Fun day, eh? Well, come on now, sit, introduce yourselves, enjoy some rum, my treat."

Damian mentally smacked himself upside the head for forgetting to introduce himself. If she were a superior that would be incredibly troublesome, and even if she isn't it's just plain rude. He thought for a second on how to repay the mistake when he realized a fine idea. "My apologies.... again. Let me make amends. I am Commander Damian Havrick, and today....," he pulled out a hefty coin purse from a pouch on his hip, "let me cover the drinks. In fact." He slammed the coin purse onto the bar nearby, boisterously announcing, "Barkeep, free drinks for anyone in and out for as long as that lasts!"

His words were met with cheers from several patrons at the bar, but his brother just sighed. He had not taken his eyes off the "fellow officer" since they had walked in. If he was not mistaken, and he was mostly sure he wasn't, that was Feral McKlinnen. A deserting ex-Marine Captain. She might be an issue if any sort of situation came to pass. He'd keep an eye on her, although with his brother's common generosity and the drinks already downed in front of her he'd be surprised if she could walk out of here. He kept his hands ready near his weapons just in case.

The two of them took a seat at the table with her. Sellick simply watching silently from behind his mask, as Damian took a pint in each hand and happily raised the glasses in cheer. "To long life and safe seas for all!" Sellick muttered the same chant and several other patrons did as well, probably humoring their new drinking buddy. Damian downed both in a couple seconds each and slammed the glasses to the table. "So what brings you to town, ma'am?"

Commander. A rank below her, thankfully. That gave some leeway at least, but she knew not of the second man yet. Well, not of his identity in specifics, but careful glances and calm and thorough acting made it seem rather clear that he had his hidden eyes locked on her. Still, the commander was friendly enough, and if this was to bring her in, unless they were going in for an unusually long reel, then they should have already attacked by now, not seated themselves.

Still, there was only one good way to measure the threat they potentially caused her. Rising from her seat suddenly, Ferra pulled her sword from the sheath, and then her rifle from her back, and promptly laid both down on the table with a small clunk, gesturing to them proudly while measuring the pairs reactions, namely the smaller one.

"While we talk, look at these beauties. Marvel in engineering, amazing what they make these days, and the craftsmanship too. Well anyway, I'm Captain," Ferra spoke easily, though only just suppressing a grimace as she said the name, "Ferra Buchelidge. As for what brings me out here, well, apparently there's some rouge slave running about, word is she took out a full crew of Marine Slavers. Nasty business, but to be frank, I'm not too keen on slavery myself. We do what we do to survive the world, wouldn't you agree, Officer? Well, acutally, I haven't caught your name yet."

As Ferra finished speaking her eyes fell upon the second man, a hidden glint of a cat seeing a mouse waltz into a trap in her eye.

Damian broke into a wide grin as the woman introduced herself. "Nice to meet you Captain Buchelidge. He turned to his brother with a beaming smile. "Looks like you have a bit in common with her now, don't you brother? Fellow Captains and all." He downed half a pint and eyed her as she placed her weapons on the table. Sellick's eyes narrowed and he inched each dagger slightly out of their sheaths. Ferra "Feral" McKlinnen, what would she be doing here?

He dipped his head slightly in greetings. "Captain." He did not speak beyond this, nor did he respond further to her placing her weapons. His brother however.... well. Damian practically lit up the room with his toothy grin. He rearched back and drew his great sword from his back, dropping it's tip to sit in between his feet. "I think I'd prefer to marvel at seven feet of shining steel! Entire groups of bandits felled in one strike, just as combat was meant to be!" He blinked a second and looked between Sellick and Captain Buchelidge, both who had distanced weaponry. "No-not that there is anything wrong with other methods of course."

Smirking just slightly as Damian seemed to fumble with his words, trying to ensure he hadn't offended, Ferra shook her head. Taking another draught from her drink, and then motioning to her sabre, her rifle, the other Captain's bow and Damian's sword, she spoke.

"My instructor informed me that a sword is just a tool, like an aritists brush, and the wielder is a painter. It's art, just made with different mediums, with different techniques, and to claim one is wrong is to claim it is all wrong. He was a wise man. Told me that the picture I should wish to paint as a Marine would be one that would leave a positive mark upon those in the world," Ferra replied fairly, slipping her left gauntlet off to run her hand through her hair momentarily before standing and sheathing her sabre and holstering her rifle. In the process she made sure to let her uncovered arms sleeve ride up, only just briefly showing off the scar there to the Captain before she pulled back and replaced her gauntlet, "So that is what I do now. I make sure that if I'm going to leave marks, on any one, on anything, they will be postive ones. Ah, but I must admit, I'm rambling. I need to finish my drink, then away back to work I shall go, but it has certainly been a pleasure, Damian, and quite the, experience, Captain."

Damian nodded along with the womans speech, understanding the majority of what she said. Although he was sure there was an easier way to say "the wielder of the weapon is what matters" and "doing whats right is better than strength". But maybe that was just him finding it a bit difficult to follow after the.... eight.... or nine pints he had since they walked in. Maybe he should slow down with the drinking some time. "I hear ya. I try to only wield my blade in the name of righteousness. The defense of the innocent. Such things are why i first decided to join the Marines after my brother."

Sellick laid his hand on his brothers arm. "I believe we should be going brother. We must report back soon after all." He nodded shallowly to Ferra, clearly keeping his gaze upon her. "A pleasure. May our paths cross again." With that Sellick led the somewhat tipsy, towering form of his brother from the bar. Pulling a Den Den Mushi from the pouch on his hip, he nodde his brother in the direction of the islands coast. "Let us go brother, let's see if we can't contact our crew from the beach."

Kenji

Kenji's attention first went to Kibito who seemed confused and such. "I dont want your sword and gun, I just want you to join my crew" He said, as Kibito sneezed. Kibito's personality changed in a blink as he did. Kenji was confused immensely by his sudden question of who are you. He listened to the boy as he continued. As he finished Kenji sighed. "I though I had just asked you to join my crew, and now your asking me to let you join... your seriously confusing... but alright" Kenji said.

His attention went to the man who named himself as William Kidd. The man was weird in Kenji's eye. He had that look to him like he wasn't very serious about anything and took everything as some kind of joke. He stumbled a little bit but Kenji blew it off as him being a little drunk. "A doctor you say.... Well then welcome aboard, we could use someone with your skills on the ship" he said to the man.

Kenji then turned back to Mal. "Well then Mal, pleasure to have you aboard, seeing as your a devil fruit user I'm sure you will be of help" he said. "and seeing as your a local can you point me towards the Slums, I need to get there, heard some clues about the map, although If you want to see my ship first I can-" Kenji's sentence was cut off by the sound of a large bell ringing in the distance. "Um sorry, a bunch of pirates are suppose to be meeting near the bell tower to discuss things with the map at this time" he said looking at the group. "My ship is called the sea dragon, shes down at the docks. If you want to come with me then by all means, If not I can meet you three by the docks or on my ship" he said as he began to run off towards the bell tower. Going down a street he took a few back alleys making his trip much faster. He turned down one and a gun shot rang off.

The bullet had hit just a few feet in front of him, stopping him in his tracks. A man jumped down from a roof top above Kenji. "Oh, looks like we managed to get another pirate" the man said. Kenji silently stared at the man. "We've been hunting pirate captains like you all day, trying to take care of some of the competition, and make a little money while we are at it" he said. He drew his sword and pointed it at Kenji. "Now don't resist and this can be painless" He said, "Shave". He launched at Kenji with incredible speed. Kenji swiftly drew his sword and intercepted his attack. "Oh, well it seems your a little bit better than the average joe" the man said jumping back. "Your looking at one of the best swordsmen on this sea" kenji said pointing his sword at the man, "The name is Kenji Kita" he said. The man grinned widely, "My name is Jack Rackham, captian of the winward pirates" he said. Kenji slowly sheathed his sword again. Jack smiled, "Oh giving up are we, I guess I'll have to finish you off now then, " he said "Shave"He shouted charging again. "One sword style: Draw" Kenji said as Jack flew past him.

Kenji slowly sheathed his sword. Jack still standing wiped blood off his cheek from a cut Kenji's slash had left him. "Very good Kenji, Your the first one that managed to cut me" He said as he looked up to the roof tops and gave a sharp whistle. Several people jumped down, surrounding Kenji. Kenji took out both of his swords. Jack smiled, "I recognize the blade on that other sword of yours, surprised your not dead yet from wielding a cursed blade" He said. "I have fairly good luck I suppose" he said in response as he was prepared to fight jack and the rest of his crew.

Ren

Ren walked away from the cooking contest holding a bag full of money. "So this is the prize they give me for coming in first huh?" she said looking down at the bag. "ah well, i was hoping it would be something cool but money is money" She said. Ren walked down to the docks. "Uh, I really need to join a crew or something'all this stuff is getting heavy" She said, looking down to the bags full of pots and pans and knives.

She walked around looking at ships and asking people who were on them if the needed a cook. Most responded with a simple no and she left and some were just plane creepy and weird so she didn't even bother to wait for a answer. coming up to one ship she studied it with a bit of awe. the ship was like none she had seen before, and it seemed that the captian was up on deck. She walked aboard the deck and looked around. "Hmm, this ship is neat, I haven't seen one like it before," she said looking at one man in particular, but also taking notice to a fish woman who was onside of him. "Are you the captain? If thats the case I'm joining your crew" she said, with not caring whether he let her or not, she was fed up with people saying no. "Oh yeah, and I can cook" she added in.

Stacy Beauregard and Norman Newman

Stacy chuckled as Syrin agreed. "Yeah, it definitely is." Having agreed upon that, she settled into an even pace as she followed Norman to the kitchen, her curiosity growing as to what exactly could've gone so wrong.

Norman smiled to himself as he listened to Ship Lady and.... well he apparently liked Mister Grump. They seemed like fun enough people, if a tad cranky. But maybe they were just having bad days or something. From what Norman had seen of people from his perch in the mast earlier people were bustling around madly. Maybe they were part of the bustling and things weren't going well.

Meh, too much maybe maybe ifs for Norman. He led Stacy into the... well kitchen was a bit much at this point. As they entreed the kitchen they immediately began leaving footprints in the soot on the ground. The walls and floors alike were covered in it, brown spots rarer than the black. Along one wall was the remains of a stove and a couple of counters. Clearly the location of an explosion, as seen from the burn marks and missing wood shards.

"So hehe. This is uh.... obviously the damaged area." He looked a tad ashamed as he looked at Stacy. "I am not sure what happened really. But one second I was making dinner and the next KABOOM!" He yelled the last word and made an explosion pantomime with his hands.

"It's a mess!" was Stacy's first comment on the sight in front of her. Her eyes grazed with disgust over the ash and soot that still covered the entire room, leaving absolutely no possiblity at all for her to even garner a guess as to how much work she had ahead of her.

She turned her eyes back to Syrin, giving him a look that showed she was clearly baffled, before she glanced back to Norman.
"I can't do anything until I can actually see the surfaces, you know," she said it as though having cleaned up the room before bringing in a mechanic was something that should've been entirely obvious even if it quite possibly wasn't.

Norman nodded slowly while looking at the soot, realization not dawning on him for at least several seconds.
"Ohhhh. Oh yeah, sorry about that. One sec, I'll grab a mop and broom!" Norman rushed out of the room to the supply closet.

Stacy allowed a smirk to leap onto her face at Norman's reaction and she chuckled vibrantly as he darted off to get cleaning supplies. She certainly hoped that he wasn't expecting her to do any of the cleaning.

Turning to Syrin before Norman came back, Stacy commented,
"You know, he's annoying as all hell, but I imagine watching him get into trouble is way too amusing."

Norman return after several moments and brought the cleaning supplies with him.
"Alrighty, I'll clean this up and then you can fix things! You seem like a smart Lady I'm sure you won't have any trouble!" He began sweeping roughly as he spoke, starting around the stove and counters and moving outwards.

He treated the whole mess as he did when he cleaned at home. Every speck of dust and dirt were his enemies! His cleaning supplies were his weapons, and he was going to make sure he didn't lose no matter what! While his mouth and nose were not visible due to his scarf, his eyes scrunched up in a manner of obvious concentration and seriousness.

"Well, that was interesting," Stacy commented though she was clearly unamused by his show of combating the mess. Nonetheless, she walked over to the source of the disaster as soon as a path was clear, pulling her wrench promptfly from her tool belt and setting it on what remained of the countertop.

Squatting down behind the counter, her eyes inspected the stove and she stood back up again briefly to glance towards Norman.
"Your captain said you had supplies? This is definitely going to need some new parts."
