Marauders in Mirstone

Cait Merlin

As Cait waited for the transaction between Sora and the water merchant to complete, she sat down on a nearby crate and started to strum improvised cords on her guitar. She must have gotten lost in the music making process; when she looked at the merchant's water stand she didn't see her Captain. Cait quickly packed up her guitar and put the case strap around her shoulder as she glanced around for Sora. She did manage to spot her Captain's pet scampering toward her with a note.

Cait crouched down and took the note from Albi's mouth. "Thank you," she said before reading it. Cait let out a chuckle after reading it. She hadn't seen the transfer of water from the merchant to Sora, but she assumed that Sora was handling the barrels by himself. "Does the Captain always take the needlessly complex options?" she asked Albi. "Take me to him on the way to the ship."

Cait started to follow Albi and quickly caught up with Sora. She scooped up the rolling barrel and laid it against her shoulder. "I thought I said I was going to show you how handy my muscles are," Cait said casually as she passed Sora. As she followed Albi to the ship, Cait didn't break a sweat as she carried the barrel. Her Fishman muscles made it seem lighter than it really was.

After reaching the ship, Cait placed the barrel of water on the deck. She wasn't sure where else to put it and figured that Sora would tell her where he wanted it once he arrived.

Stacy Beauregard

Upon first glance at Norman Newman, Stacy’s face assumed an expression that simply said, ‘What are you lookin’ at?’ It was that incredulous look upon her face that ought to have conveyed that she wanted nothing to do with him. However, apparently she had to listen to his rant anyways because she still heard words spewing from his mouth and she still had to facepalm at the nuisance of it.

“And if I tell you I’m neither… what happens then? Any chance it might just convince you to shut up?” Stacy dared to inquire. She didn’t imagine it would work and she turned to glance towards Syrin, expressing her newfound annoyance. “Apparently wherever these two came from, giving your name to strangers is completely acceptable. Really makes ya wonder how they’re still alive, doesn’t it?” She rolled her eyes immensely before she walked further onto the ship.

Swiftly, she realized that she hadn’t been told what was wrong with the ship in the first place. Sighing, she also realized that that meant she would have to
talk to Norman. Stacy pulled a screwdriver out of her tool belt and started spinning it in her hand. “So your “Captain” hired me to clean up what I’ve been lead to believe is your mess. He didn’t say exactly what that was, unfortunately, so you’ll have to fill me in and show me what exactly I need to fix.” Stacy’s voice was blunt and firm as she spoke. “Stab me, or stab my friend,” she gestured to Syrin, “and the ship doesn’t get fixed.”

Stacy could only hope that her words and her tone made it clear that she really just wanted to get to work and that she didn’t want to get pulled into any games. However, given the way things had been going so far, she was nowhere near expecting things to go as smoothly as she would have hoped.

“You asked for a minute of my time to be polite!?” the woman seemed entirely incredulous that anyone would have done something like that for that particular reason and it showed in both her tone and her expression. “You think that it was polite to interrupt my perfectly happy thoughts to call me up to you… when you had nothing to say…?” Slowly, as she spoke, the woman’s voice was becoming softer in a terrifying way.

She took a step back, away from Rei.

“And then, beyond that, you dare to question my pursuit of young Abigail?” Slowly, her words were becoming more focused and within them, Yumi’s true rage showed through. It was the kind that simmered slowly, that could barely be sensed at all. “I’m sorry, dear girl, but you are no longer worth that minute of my time I was going to give you. Please leave. Captain Shale will not be pleased with me if I make a show and lose the girl…”

Syrin Insinu

The moment Norman dropped down in front of the two, Syrin barely stopped himself from sighing in exasperation. And as he spoke, that exasperation quickly turned to annoyance. The moment he uttered the word 'stab', that annoyance turned to his usual coldhearted viciousness, which was aptly seen from the blank, haunting glare that he set on Norman. Glancing over at Stacy, he was glad to see that she too seemed annoyed by the whole spiel.

When Stacy responded in turn, he could only snort at her statement of their trust. And she was right in the fact that they were never told what exactly was wrong with the ship, a flaw above all flaws really. "I'd like to reiterate that statement. I already dislike your captain, and I dislike you just as much. My friend-," he motioned at Stacy, "was, quite rudely might I add, asked to come fix your ship. And she wasn't told what exactly was wrong with it. So here we are. Yet now, we are harassed by a child who's thoughts go to stabbing us, or hoping we are to be your crew."

Syrin's glare intensifies, and venom seeps into his words. "I don't take kindly to that, so listen, and listen well. You will tell her what is exactly wrong with the ship. She will fix that. I will make sure that nothing wrong happens to her. And I swear, if you even utter the word stab in my presence?" He pauses and raises his right arm, showing parts of he chains wrapped around it, accompanied by the eerie clanking noises that it tends to make. "I will personally make sure you are incapable of stabbing anything ever again. Do we have an understanding?" With his promise stated, Syrin crossed his arms and continued to simply glare at Norman.

Rena Heartwood

Perhaps it was the fact that she had had a good day and was currently nursing a full belly, but the sudden appearance of a stranger didn't bother her, despite it being on the roof.
"What're ya drawing?"
Was the first question posed to her. It wasn't as if it was a secret, she needed to show people the picture in order to get information about it. Looking up at the blond haired...teenager?...it looked as if it was a genuine smile and honest eyes. He wasn't bad, Rena had learned to trust her instincts when it came to new people.
"Something I'm looking for?" Rena said coyly, "It's a....device that I need, have you seen anything that looks like it?"

Complete shot in the dark, but as a journalist, sometimes dumb luck will guide you where you need to go. Perhaps his dad was some famous pirate and had travelled the Grand Line and...Rena sighed - she wasn't THAT lucky. Before she could respond to his anser she heard something like a sob coming from the street below. She peered down in curiosity at another teenaged looking boy.

Peaceswore said:
"D-Do you wan-want some cupcakes?! P-P-Please?! I...I...I don't want to waste them. They taste too good but I can't eat them all! I-I swear they are not bad or poisonous. R-Really.............! I can't eat all of them, and the nice man gave me them, so I want to share them so I don't waste them! Please take one?! P-Pretty please?! A-Also so-so-sorry for yelling, I-I just want to make sure you hear me."
"Um...sure?" Rena said. She liked cupcakes. Who didn't like cupcakes? And after all the savory in her mouth, something sweet would round it off nicely. "Of course they aren't poisoned - who the hell would poison one batch of cupcakes, unless it was designed to kill one person or family. If it was given to you to get rid of the evidence then it would be a pretty shoddy way of doing so as the trail would be obvious. Better just to throw them in the trash. If you were going to use the cupcakes to kill a bunch of people, then it would be more than just that batch - it would be at least 4 or 5, in order to get the best possible spread. Still, because how easy they'd be to trace, it would be obvious who did it. Better to poison the water supply. Town like this doesn't really have an advanced filtration system it'd be easy to...."

Rena cut herself off.

"Sorry....Let's just say that I like mysteries and I start rambling when I get ideas. Long story short; Yes I'd love a cupcake." Rena smiled warmly. Don't trust anyone, but a kid wanting to give her a cupcake - yeah you could trust that.

"Still, don't you think it's a little dangerous to be out like this, with all these pirates just hanging around?" Rena hadn't talked to any of the younger folk on the island, she was interested in what they had to say about this sudden influx of hustle and bustle. Still, it was dangerous - a lot of brawls, swords and guns on display, not to mention the possibility of poisoned cupcakes, "Your parents know where you are?" She asked a little concerned.

Malt took his eyes off Xiao. "Bijou talks?" he asked no one in particular, turning around to see where his floofpudding of a dog was. Bijou doesn't... What? His eyebrow shot up as he watched Seth talked to Bijou, apparently expecting an answer. Crossing his arms, he made a few wide steps to stand behind Seth, looking into Bijou's confused face over Seth's shoulders "Are you an idiot?" he asked more or less rhetorically. The group surely was colorful, but none of it confused him more than whatever was wrong with Seth.

Keya continued staring at Xiao in slight awe of how big he was. Though her attention was soon drawn to the others as they said Bijou talked. Bijou talked? This confused her just as much as anyone else. Though she slowly connected the pieces together; they hadn't noticed her walk up and they thought Bijou was talking when it was her. She grinned slyly, this was going to be fun. At-least until she was found out. "I can to talk. I'm talking right now, see?" She spoke, moving a bit closer to Bijou to lower the chance of being spotted. "I want more booze." She added, seeing as the dog was previously drinking or she thought he was.

"You hear that?' Seth asked. His senses rarely betrayed him, but just to be sure. It could have been his enthusiasm that became too much for him, or he was still knocked out by the enthusiasm of seeing an ermine. 'I'm not an idiot, just plain crazy! Though I'm sure you must have heard that. I'm sure I didn't see any sound though. So, did it really talk or was it just my imagination? Or did I become a dog whisperer? Or did I just learn how to speak dog? Ruff, Ruff! Did you understand that? Maybe I could learn ermine as well, then I could finally talk to my Captain. I mean, I did already learn panda, so why not? Anyways...' He turned to Malt. 'The lady asked for some booze. You better give her some, you damn peasant!'

Xiao didn't care much about whether or not Bijou talked. His instincts and senses never betrayed him, though, so he did realize that it was merely someone trying to have some fun. "I have a few things to take care of, so I'll see you later" he said to the others as he started to walk away. He left his bag in a safe place, and went there to take it. The bag had some food, useful medicine and herbs, but most importantly, it had some money he'd been saving. It wasn't that much, but it was still a useful amount. 3 million berry was what he had left of his savings. He considered that money could be of use and since he was about to join a crew, he decided to keep it hidden, and use it in case of emergency. He would tell the captain, though.

'See you later panda-sensei!' Seth shouted. 'I'm not done with you, but hey... we'll be nakama. Sailing the sea can be really boring. Though I'm sure I can bear it when you are there.' He chuckled and hoped that his new idol didn't hear that last one.

Keya only smiled to herself and giggled silently as Seth went on. Oooh this was so good! He actually believed Bijou was talking, and that she was Bijou. It was freaking priceless! How could someone be this dumb? She thought dwarfs, and namely herself, were easily fooled! Dwarfs were geniuses compared to this guy. Really. He soon insisted that Malt brought her booze, which only amused her more. "Yeah! More booze!" She shouted in agreement. She was sad to see the panda guy go, but she'd definitely track him down later. Eventually Seth became to much for Keya, she burst out laughing before zipping up and onto Seth's shoulder. "I can't believe you fell for it!" She told him, still laughing heavily and doing her best to not fall off.

Malt's eyes having turned to mere slits as he glared down to Seth with distant contempt. He crossed his arms, his wide sleeves covering his midsection now, and whistled. "Come here." Bijou seemed quite accustomed to the sound and happily strolled towards his owner, running slalom through Malt's legs.

"You are an idiot...", Malt deduced, scoffing. "How someone like you even managed to come to this place... Pah." With unevenly raised eyebrows, he cracked his neck and then brought his hands together behind his hand, fingers entwined. He suddenly had a lax expression, and Bijou yapped from below. "Well... Good to know what kind of folks run around here..." he said, one eye closed, the other still glued to Seth with disregard. "Gotta be prepared, afterall." He waved towards Keya to excuse himself, then turned on his heels.

"Don't fall into the water, kid."

Yep, Seth was definitely still out cold. This was the Best Dream Ever. Ermines, giant talking pandas, fish people and a little dwarf person. The best thing of all: there would be no consequences whatsoever. Such a shame that these things never happened to him in real life. First things first, mocking the guy that was walking away from them. 'Hey, mister lame ... sassy lowlife! I didn't say we were finished here! To answer your question: I am so Genius that I made a balloon filled with hot air from that last guy, Kenji-boy. Unfortunately it was pierced just before I got to shore, but luckily your ego was big enough to catch me. I should be thanking you, but that would be a waste of air! My kind of folk does not run around here, because this city isn't big enough for two geniuses. This small lady here comes close though.' He would love to go on, but the guy and his lame, non-talking, yapping lap dog, were already walking out of range.

He turned towards towards the dwarf on his shoulder. 'So... finally some quality time. You had me good there, lady. I have a few questions. Who are you? Why are you so small? Did you eat a devil fruit? Is that why mister lame said something about water? Or is everybody so small where you come from? Where do you even come from? Why did you go away? Were the other little people to strict? Didn't they laugh at your pranks? Did you ever consider a job in the humorous world of jokers and jesters?' Seth suddenly inhaled deeply. He just had a great idea. 'Since nobody here is real, do you want to help me turn this city upside down? This dream could use some stirring up! I already have lots of ideas. So... what do you say we become partners in crime?'

Peering out from the shop that she’d stumbled into, Abigail noted that the shopkeeper was slowly shoving everyone out of the shop one by one. Doing her best to keep herself small, her eyes caught sight of the woman with the sword and she saw that the woman was preoccupied at the moment. Rather than waiting for the shopkeeper to actually shove her out - which was undoubtedly inevitable - Abigail sprinted straight into the street hoping that maybe she could be unnoticed.

Unlucky for her, Yumi’s eye was trained upon the door that she had charged out of and seeing the little red haired girl take off again, Yumi briefly turned to Rei.
“I have a hunt to resume.” Slipping her sword into a slot on her waist, Yumi turned and started running, leaving Rei and anyone in the shop still to wonder what might have been going on with their little game of cat and mouse.

She had a lead. Abigail glanced back over her shoulder and saw that she was once again being chased, but she also saw that she had a significant lead on the swordswoman. Her head turned back, feet still quickly sliding one in front of the other, as her eyes scanned for anything that she could use to try to throw the woman off her trail. The more she continued running, the thicker the city became and the fewer open spaces there were to run.

Thicker city areas also meant alleyways though. Abigail’s eyes slipped to one in particular and she darted for it.

“STOP THAT GIRL! SHE’S A THIEF!” Yumi’s voice echoed loud as she shouted it out just before Abigail disappeared into the alley. Heads turned, eyes watched the rapid pursuit, but no one who had heard ventured into the alleyway after either of them.

Turning quick around corners, Abigail hoped that she could make a turn unseen. That was all she would need to put a little distance between herself and Yumi and then she could figure out what to do from there. Each turn was just as tight as the last. Abigail’s body hugged the wall as she slipped around it and she moved swiftly to the next corner. One thing she didn’t consider - didn’t even realize - was that she was slowly getting lost in the maze of the alley.

Yumi’s head turned both ways as she reached a corner. She’d lost her. Cursing herself under her breath, she turned one way that seemed more probable - she didn’t know why, but she followed it. Though she did not see the girl upon reaching the next corner, her eyes did fall upon a rather odd figure.
“Excuse me. You wouldn’t have happened to see a little girl run through here, would you? She stole some information and I’d like to get it back.”

"Your parents know where you are?"

A look of frustrated disgust crossed the young man's face, and he ground his teeth. The artist's question struck him badly.

"No, they damn well don't. My bastard father is gods know where, and my mother is dead." He snorted, looking away. "At least, that's what the old bastard always told me. It's kinda why I wanna do that."

Mal pointed a finger at the docks, their small perch giving them a reasonably unobstructed view of the ships that lay at anchor within the protective arms of the bay. The water glistened joyfully, welcomingly, as if beckoning to those that saw it to come sailing out upon its surface and partake in the adventures that lay within its reaches. Sighing, he leaned back against the wooden wall. Poor Kibto, still on the street begging to get rid of his cupcakes, went unnoticed by the blonde boy.

"I've poked around this town long enough, and nobody knows or cares about my mom. So I wanna go out there, and look for her myself." There was a pregnant pause as his mind entertained the thought. Suddenly he started. "Oh! You asked about that thing you're drawing! No, sorry, I haven't seen anything like it. What's it for?"

Narivena Veulence

It did not take long for Narivena to gather her spread things from the ground and brush them off before she headed towards the docks. The route to her destination was short enough, but she took her merry good time through the different paths, trying to eavesdrop on any conversation she could to find information that might be useful for her later. Little useful information was spilled on her way to the docks, and by the time she reached her destination the sun had started to set. Perfect timing, and a good place to finish her map. She found a good spot on top of two large crates and let her gaze wander over the different ships and boats neatly anchored next to each other. Some hoisted black flags, others white or none at all. A sure sign that Mirstone was crawling with all kinds of people. Just the way she liked it.

She spread out her things in front of her, legs crossed under her, including the watch she had stolen from the shopkeeper. Her fingers ran over the beautiful inscriptions on it, and she figured it was worth more than she had first anticipated.
Score! Footsteps in front of her caught her attention. A man rolling a barrel in front of him, carrying another. Narivena squinted slightly at the man, but did not say a word. Deciding to watch before interacting with anyone, she would figure out whether he was a member on one of these ships or not. Shortly after the young man with deep red hair entered her line of sight, another person arrived. A.. Fish..Woman..? Narivena raised an eyebrow and made a sound of curiosity. They both boarded one of the ships, and so her suspicion was confirmed. Pirates. She bit the inside of her lower lip and tapped her pen against the barrel in thought and hid the watch in one of her pouches. A possible way out, if she could just keep them in sight for a little longer.

As the sun was setting, Narivena was busy drawing her map and keeping eyes peeled for anyone who might be her ticket off the island at some point - especially for the group of people on board the pirateship. For some reason, she wanted to walk up and find out more about the strange woman. It was her first time seeing a fishwoman, and her curiosity had immediately been piqued. She would still need more intel to have any useful information as to where to head to next, but she had been a little too careless with her pick-pocketing and eavesdropping than she liked. It seemed more people than usual were out for her here. It could be because of the large amount of people on this island, and the crowds made it
oh so much easier to steal, but she would soon be finished with mapping most of the area. Another piece added to her slowly growing collection.

A deep inhale of the salty air made her nerves relax, and she observed the growing activity on the docks while staying back from the traffic of pirates and merchants returning to their ships for the evening. Observation was key to get useful information. Besides, she had nowhere to be as of now - except to explore the parts of the island she had not yet been, and gather useful information about.. Well.. Anything, but hopefully something about the map everybody was talking about.

Norman Newman, Poofing Prankster!

Norman spun around in a circle while listening to Ship Lady and Mister Grumps. So Captain Kita went to find people to fix the accident in the kitchen huh? Well that's good, the explosion kinda punched a hole in the wall and floor. Norman is awesome and can cook or stab really well, but fixing stuff wasn't his strong suit.

He spun back around and faced the two new people's with a big grin. "So you're here to fix the kitcheeen. You should just said so, I can show you right there Ship Lady." He made a small yanking motion and his weapon unwrapped from the mast thingy. He did a super cool flip and landed on his feet almost like he practiced this all the time or something!

"And you Mister Grumps. I bet you don't like pranks, being all grumpy and stuff. What of I just went," he suddenly disappeared as if an illusion. "Poof," he said from a few feet behind Mister Grumps. "I bet you wouldn't like if I did that bunches of times." He let out a small series of boyish giggles.

"Anyways. Don't worry, I don't stab friends unless they WANT stabbings. And you friends clearly don't want stabbings, not even little ones. Come on, I'll show you the damage!"
Then he basically skipped off to lead them below deck to the kitchen. At the same time, any trained eye would pick up on his tauntingly wide open stance. Almost as if begging someone to attack him.

Kenji walked up the street. He sighed looking around. "I really need to find some crew mates" he said to himself out loud. " I would try looking in a bar but that has worked out really well so far" he said to himself as he walked down the street wondering is Stacy and Syrin would join him. I wonder does Syrin even have any skills that would be useful on the grand line Kenji thought to himself. He walked through crowded streets and heard some mention of a map. He grabbed a hold of someone who was talking about it to a merchant. "Did you mention a map?" Kenji asked, with no regard for their personal space. "Ah you must be one of those pirates who is looking for the map to one piece. I heard some rumours about a guy that's been hanging around the run down section of town, where the worst of the worst live, apparently he knows where the map is" he said. "Thanks for the information" Kenji said as he walked off, The man gave kenji a sinister smile as Kenji turned his back on him.

Kenji walked down the streets not knowing where he was going, nor where the run down section of town was. He was on the look out for someone who looked like they might be able to point him in the right direction. A-Also so-so-sorry for yelling, I-I just want to make sure you hear me." Kenji Heard someone across the street shout out. I could really go for a cupcake right now... Kenji thought to himself. Kenji reached over the boys shoulder. and grabbed a cup cake out of the box he was holding out. "I'll be taking one if you dont mind, Though if this poisons me kid I'll be cutting you down before I die" He said with a smile. He took a bite of the cup cake. Then another. And finally engulfed the rest in one bite. "Hmm That was good. And I do believe it wasn't poisonous, I've tasted my own cooking before and believe me that is whats poisonous" He said. He glanced down at the boy. He had a sword and a dagger on his person. "Hey, nice blades, You don't happen to be a pirate do ya? If you are want to join my Pirate Crew?" He asked. He looked at the boy with a cheeky grin. "Oh by the way who were you talking to up there?" he said pointing towards the roof, not taking much notice to the people on it.

@Mitchs98
Keya Fenris

Keya only giggled wildly as Seth started insulting Malt. She liked this guy. He was funny and didn't actually get mad at her for tricking him, infact he seemed to find it kind of amusing. Not to mention the fact he kind of didn't have the right to comment on her dwarven susceptability when he wasn't much better off himself. Soon enough she was bombarded with a ton of questions so quickly she could barely keep track of them all. The most amusing part of it all was when he asked if she wanted to become a criminal with him. Well, she was going to try to become a pirate anyway..sooo..why the heck not?

But first, he had a whole slew of questions that needed answering. "
I'm Keya! Nice to meet ya. Annd I'm small like this cause I'm a dwarf, all of us are small. Though, some are a bit taller but not by much. And no, I didn't eat a devil fruit...not even sure what one of those are. I mean I've heard of them but never actually seen one or anything you know? Not sure why that guy was talking about water, preeetyy sure it has nothing to do with me though." She explained, pausing to breathe momentarily before continuing. "I'm from an island called Tontatta, most of us live there, us Dwarves that is. Though some live in other places..some not exactly by their own will. I kinda left to explore a bit and ended up getting captured by some slavers...though I tottally escaped and kicked their butts! Dwarves are strong ya kno'. I bet I could lift you and toss you down the street like a pebble." She told him with a giggle.

"
Everyone was actually pretty nice back home, like I said I just kind of left to explore and see the world. Never really thought about getting a job like that though. Though..kinda didn't want to draw attention to myself incade they were still after me. But...to answer your question.." She continued, trailing off and pausing dramatically, "I'll tottally join you on your crime spree! On two conditions; One, you tell me your name and a bit about you since I told you about me. Two! Destroying a building is involved." She finished excitedly.

Wil D. Heart

30 Minutes ago. . .

“Wahoooo!” roared the young man at the top of his lungs, disrupting the calm melody of the ocean bed. Some animals became agitated when confined to a place for so long. The same could be said for Wil during his time on the merchant ship. It had been this way for months now, as he wandered aimlessly yet enthusiastically, from ship to ship, island to island, one adventure to the next. The latest ship passage had been a particularly tedious one. Having paid for passage on a merchant ship on the previous island and, as fate would have it, Wil’s next destination would be the island of Mirstone.

Those working the ship on the deck looked up to see the wild boy cheering unintelligibly at the top of his lungs in the crow’s nest with a grin from ear to ear and his bright hazel eyes fixated on the greenery of the approaching island. He’d done this the moment the island appeared as a dot on the horizon. The merchants below shook their heads and went back to work. After sailing with the boy for so long, they eventually gave up trying to understand him. To them, he was more akin to a wild monkey now eyeing the world’s biggest pile of bananas.

He sniffed with his keen nose, letting out the salty sea air and taking in the smell of grass land. Even from this distance out, he could swear he could smell it, taste it even. It was almost within touching distance! “Oiiiii! Oiiiiiiii!” He called out, beckoning to the captain at the helm below. “I’m going now. Thanks for the ride!” The merchant captain exchanged a look with his navigator incredulously. “B-but boy, we still have to circle round to dock at the town. It’s not even in sight yet!”

“Huuuh? Straight to the port? Wah? And miss out on all the fun in-between?!” Now Wil was looking at the captain because clearly he was the crazy one. “See ya!”

Then - without so much as a moment’s hesitation - he hopped over the crow’s nest and onto the mast, running along the sail at exceptional speed and even more exceptional balance. He reached the end, the sail ending beneath his feet, and leapt into gravity’s embrace, plummeting into the shallow waters below. Those on deck paused to give the boy one last puzzled look before he reached the sandy shore of Mirstone and ran like a lunatic past the treeline, out of sight and into the jungle.

Now. . .

The other end of Mirstone, near the jungle, was scarcely populated compared to the harbour. So no one noticed when weird noises and foliage began to rustle violently on the edge of the treeline leading into the town. Suddenly, the rustling stopped and Wil’s head popped out of a nearby tree with his face messy and the odd leaf sticking out of his hair. “Woooah!” He gasped strangely while chewing on a banana as he caught his first glimpse of the city. Without a moment’s hesitation he set off at a full-speed sprint towards the heavily populated centre of Mirstone.

A few minutes passed and Wil found himself in the centre of chaos. It seemed the whole town was populated by pirates and merchants. Running down a main road with his eyes wide, smiling and looking left and right (instead of where he was going), he began to take the wonder of everything in.

“Swords! Get your steel here!”

“Fresh fish for sale!”

“Maps! Plan your next adventure starting here!” roared the merchants behind their stalls, getting their voices to boom over the crowd.

“Whadda’ ya say?!”

“You heard!” – Wil ran head first into a fight between two pirates so drunk they could barely stand. Still running, he ran under a stray punch and rolled across the ground out of harm’s way and continued his adventure without so much as breaking a sweat. Looking back, what did break was one of the pirate’s bottle of rum over the head of the other. Wil winced at that. Finally setting his eyes here he was going, he almost collided head-first with a passing cart. At the last moment he flipped over it acrobatically.

In certain places he overheard talk of a certain map or something. That seemed to be what brought everyone else here. But Wil? He didn’t so much care unless it led to a large pile of fruit.

Noticing the danger and the obscured view of the crowded street, Wil scaled a nearby house and continued from there. This earned him the attention of many of the denizens below, but he didn’t care so much. Perhaps he should’ve steered more cautiously, but the truth was; this was very much a jungle like the one Wil grew up on. The only difference here was wild animals were replaced with (even wilder) pirates and trees with buildings. And so his adventure continued.

Rena Heartwood
"No, they damn well don't. My bastard father is gods know where, and my mother is dead." He snorted, looking away. "At least, that's what the old bastard always told me. It's kinda why I wanna do that."
Rena's response was mixed with surprise and a twang of sadness. Her life had been happy, for the most part on Theria, but having seen the atrocity that were homeless children in the bigger cities, she was moved a little by his ambition.

"Your father told you that your mother was dead, but...you don't believe him." Rena's eyebrow raised, "Do you have any evidence that she may still be alive, other than your mistrust of your father? Because otherwise this could be a long, dangerous and emotional journey which ultimately leads to heartbreak and disappointment."

"I...."

Rena stopped as another person entered her field of vision, "Let's get down off the roof shall we?" Rena jumped down, breaking her fall with a somersault and quickly fixed her hair as she got up. "Ugh, dusty roads..."

She stared at the blond and recalled that the Bartender had said that there was a muscular blond with scars on his chest that was also looking for crew members.

BlacklegSanji said:
"Hey, nice blades, You don't happen to be a pirate do ya? If you are want to join my Pirate Crew?"
Rena watched as he took a cupcake devoured it, and then asked nonchalantly to a teenager if he wanted to be a pirate, because he had some nice weaponry - is that really all it took? Regardless, perhaps he knew about the log pose. She pulled out the drawing and addressed the blond teenager's (Mal) question and also showing it to the muscular Blond

"So, I need to find this. Have any of you seen anything like it? It's a device I need to navigate the Grand Line. It's called a log pose - regular compasses won't work. I'm assuming once I find the map that I need to find this - this is me staying ahead of the curve." Rena said. She stopped herself and realised that she hadn't even introduced herself. To them, some stranger jumped down from the roof and started to demand answers, "Apologies, my name is Rena Heartwood. I want to find this stupid treasure because I have a hatred of unanswered questions. The question on my mind is "What is the One Piece?" and why are people so willing to throw their lives away for it?"

"Well that, and I want to go and find out where all the real journalists are, because the newspaper that we've been fed all these years is a bunch of government horse shit." Rena breathed out slowly, "Ugh, I didn't mean to yell, but when you are reading mistruths, spin and out and out lies everyday, with your neighbors nodding their heads and discussing them as fact - it makes me think that the world is not as free as it should be. Maybe the One piece is a bunch of journalist on an island...."

Cygnus Albireo

Cygnus wished he had kept track of the route he had taken. He was still strolling through the back alleys and had no idea where he was going. His stomach was rumbling. He hadn't eaten for hours. It was not like there were any food stands around and he couldn't ask the people living here, could he? So he had to find his way back. Cygnus looked up, from the rooftops he would probably have a better view. The only problem was, the walls were not really climbable, especially not for a one armed person. He sighed, wishing once more that he had two wings so he could fly up, or just two hands. There was no other option than to teleport himself up there. However, there were to many people in the street he was in. He kept walking in the hope that he found an empty street.

A few streets further Cygnus finally found one. He made sure there was nobody looking from the windows or doors. "Room!" He whispered under his breath. A big bubble appeared around him. "Sha-" His voice faltered. He heard footsteps. His heart rate increased. Quickly he erased his bubble. It was not a second to early. A woman ran around the corner. In his stories, Cygnus would have called her The Warrior Princess or something like it. She was around his age and was dressed in casual clothes of good quality. She carried a big sword that looked like it belonged to an ancient samurai. Her eyes were aggressively taking in the scene. Cygnus wondered whether she would have been the hero or the villain in his story when she started talking to him.

DaughterofAthena said:
“Excuse me. You wouldn’t have happened to see a little girl run through here, would you? She stole some information and I’d like to get it back.”
"S-sorry, good l-lady," Cygnus stuttered, still in shock. His head was still processing what she said. "I did see p-plenty of young girls, but none of them was running through here. I-I could help you look for her? That is... if you want me to." He paused. This was the formal thing to say, but was it also the right thing to do? "W-wait a minute. Did you say she stole information? H-how would one do such a thing? but even more important: How are you planning to get it back?" Cygnus was startled by what he said. He flinched, fearing her reaction. It was dangerous to ask such things. He prayed she was the hero and not the villain in the story that was his life.

Mal

Pirates!

fma___edward_elric_by_naruto_fan27-d6428z3.png

"Hold everything!"

Mal had jumped down almost as quickly as Rena had, the bottoms of his feet almost instinctively blasting a small flame a piece to keep the teenager from smashing into the road beneath them. Beside him, Rena and Kibto were doing their own thing, asking questions and whatnot, but Mal was devoting every bit of his attention to the latest person to show: something of a giant to the small thief, this be-sworded man was asking about crew members for his pirate ship. His pirate ship! At last! The question is, would this guy take him for what he was. Mal had no skill to help on the ocean. But at the very least, he could ask.

"You're a pirate?! And you need a crew?! Even better!" Mal was practically jumping up and down in his enthusiasm and grinning ear to ear. "I'll volunteer! What's all involved? Eh, who cares: I just wanna be a pirate! Oh! And my name's Steven Maelstrom, but you can just call me Mal!"

As he tried to contain his joy, a small item fell out of his pocket. It was a broach, emerald with silver trimmings, and it bore lettering on its back not readily translatable. But if anyone had the knowledge to read it, it would say,

Come back to us soon, my dear Patricia.

The New World is not the same without you.

- your loving parents

The jewelry hit the road with a few dull thuds, coming to rest at Ravara's feet.

Sétanta Igramo'el

Seth was surprised the dwarf lady, Keya, actually answered all of his questions, people rarely did. Dreaming was so nice in so many ways! He decided to play his part as well. "Quite the introduction, dwarf lady. If we become nakama you should take me to your little island someday." He said. "Normally I wouldn't introduce myself, I'd rather remain the silent mysterious calm person, you know, but since you asked so perversely I guess I should tell. My name is Sétanta from the Igramo'el tribe. I don't do the handshaking thing if you were wondering. Probably better for you as well. I come from Igramo, of course, a small isolated island in the south blue. I don't have parents, never had, the tribe raised me together with the jungle. I left the island long ago, because reasons, and have been sailing the seas ever since. Of course I had many big adventures and even bigger pranks, but I'm still looking for the best prank ever! Do you know where I could find it? Or what it is? Can you help me?" He realized he trailed of.

"Oh right, turning this city upside down. I think I fulfilled your first condition, that was an introduction, right? As for the second one: I heard this town has a magnificent Bell Tower, would be a shame if that got destroyed, right? I wanted to ring the giant bell anyways. So, what about it? let's make our way to the bell tower while taking out some wannabe pirates and innocent, but insolent townspeople. Nobody will be safe for Team Supreme. And most importantly, don't forget to have a lot of fun while doing it. I'll race you to the tower. Last one there is a lame prankster!" And... he took of. Probably in the wrong direction, but who cared? He was going to make the best out of this dream!

KYOKO RINNE

The sun slowly rotating around the sky, as it still beats down its rays upon the people of Mirstone. ".... (Yawwwn). Ugh, god I'm tired! And its not even on my work day..." Kyoko Rinne, age 24, currently walking through commercial stands bustling with merchants old and young. But Kyo had no business with regular, high priced stores, she had motivated herself to stop eating takeouts for one day and actually cook something decent for herself. She had only been in Mirstone for about three weeks and already she didn't have the enthusiasm to continue on her journey and splurged about half of her savings- just by ordering takeout. The day Kyoko landed here, she knew she would be stuck on this floating rock if she didn't get her act together and make enough berries for the next trip, but of course, not everything went to plan for her as she expected.

Kyo looked around the market she had entered and thought about what she'll make for tonight
"I guess I can make some calamari to start it off but, how to make it, hmmm... Fry? No. Bake? Too long. Sigh... I guess I shouldn't go too complex. Then lets sauté it!." Kyo went shopping in the food stands offering their "freshest" and "cheapest" produce, though she could tell most of it were not cheap, for sure, at least the quality wasn't rotten as it looks, even one of the merchants gave her some fruits as gratitude. Kyoko looked at the time as she stopped at the side of a fairly modern building built out of concrete, finished with a dark red wood roof,"That didn't take too long. I guess I can take a leisurely stroll back home before dinner."

Her leisurely stroll though could have been better if she didn't think so much about her agenda- traveling around the world in search of her father, having absolutely no leads and just going place to place based on rumors and gossip, and having to unlock the "Zen" path- one of her most craziest schedule in which she is on the tip of the line of giving up this whole ordeal but... But remembering seeing her little brother cry like a baby, the promise she made to her dad:
,"Become the best chef and live to tell the tale to him.","I'm not gonna lose until I become the world's greatest chef." She felt a little confident, curling a strand of her hair to take her mind of the situation she's in and enjoying the ocean view while it lasted, well, for the rest of her life.

Kenji Kita

Kenji watched as two individuals jumped from One landed and immediately began asking questions. "Hmm. A log pose. I've heard of it, when I was in the navy some visiting captains would be wearing them... As for finding one I doubt it would be in Mirstone. I'm no expert on navigation but I do believe the entrance to the grand line at reverse Mountain is still a nice ways away" he said looking at the girl. " I think that if they were sold anywhere, they would sell them there, near the revese mountains that is, if they are even sold in shops" he said. "Thanks for that information, I wasn't really sure all the details myself until you showed me the picture and told me what was what.." he said. "And as for One Piece. Who ever obtains it shall gain wealth, fame, and power... But I believe the One Piece is Freedom. He who is the pirate king has the most freedom on the sea" he said with a grin.

When the second individual jumped down it surprised Kenji. Flames shot from his feet as he landed. He walked right up to Kenji and asked him if he could join his crew. Kenji was delighted by this. "Oh, Once you say your a pirate captain they come lining up" he laughed. He looked the kid up and down. "At first glance I thought you were younger than what you are. And your a devil fruit user to by the looks of you" he said. "Okay I'll have you" He said, then pausing remembering something... "Oh yeah, I should ask you do you have any skills at sea? If not I might have to use you as shark and seaking bate when we get hungry" He said jokingly. "Oh by the way are you a local, I need to find a place in town" he said asking neither one of the three in particular, just hoping one of them was a local.

Stacy Beauregard

Even Stacy was shocked by Syrin’s reaction. A smile touched her expression as Syrin called her a friend as she could tell that wasn’t a title he used lightly, and she smiled even brighter when she realized he was basically saying that he was there to protect her. It was an odd feeling. Stacy hadn’t encountered anything like it since she’d left her family and her teacher years ago. Her head shifted down just slightly, glancing to where her shirt covered the twin holsters on her hips and wondering if Syrin really didn’t think she was capable of defending herself. That was a discussion for another time, though.

“Syrin, friend, I’m grateful.” As she said it, she also laid a hand on his wrist, a subtle attempt at trying to stay off any violent routes for the time being. If he really moved to attack, Stacy wouldn’t stop him, but she did also like to hope that Syrin wouldn’t attack if it was clear she didn’t want to get tangled in a fight.

Her hand slowly slipped off of Syrin’s wrist when Norman started talking again.
‘Ship Lady?’ Not only was it one of the oddest names she had ever been given, but it didn’t even cover half of who Stacy considered herself to be. She didn’t just fix ships. In fact, ships didn’t even cover the half of what she could fix and for a moment, she considered mentioning that but she stopped herself.

Then she heard his name for Syrin.

Stacy could not contain a chuckle, and she couldn’t really argue the reasoning behind it. All Norman had seen of Syrin was a scolding… more or less.
“I have a feeling this is going to turn into an interesting story,” Stacy commented. And whether it would end with her actually fixing the ship or not remained to be seen.

Rather than following Norman immediately, Stacy’s eyes remained focused on Syrin for a moment longer, curious to see what he would do because she was sure even she couldn’t imagine all the possibilities.

Yumi Tahiro

NPC Notes

Location: Running in an Alley

Age: Late teens / early 20s

Gender: Female

‘Hmm… I must have made a wrong turn, then.’ She was slightly disappointed at the realization, but she really couldn’t be surprised. The alley had quickly turned into a maze and even she could not expect to be able to navigate it perfectly. In that simmering criticism of herself for losing the girl, Yumi also managed to take a moment to further consider the man who found himself in front of her.

“I suppose if you wanted to help me, I could cover more ground,” she replied at first, seeming indifferent towards the idea as she shrugged her shoulders.

His second question surprised her and Yumi raised her eyebrows for a moment at its oddity. People stole information all the time; she’d never really taken a moment to consider the mechanics of the actual process of a thing like that.
“Well, she stole the log book to my captain’s ship. I need to get the book back and I need to bring her back as well. She stole food from our ship on the last island and she still needs to work off that debt. No doubt Captain Shale will add more on to the work she needs to pay off. Our ship wasn’t supposed to be in port this long but because she’s run off, we are stuck trying to catch her. It’s quite a nuisance.”

@Felix

Syrin Insinu

The biggest reaction that Syrin gave to Norman's disappearing act was an unimpressed raised eyebrow. Three years at sea have been more than enough time for him to see many unusual things, and combined with his own apathy, nothing much really surprised or moved him nowadays. Honestly, he was waiting for Norman to simply give him a reason to attack, especially with how he was taunting him with such an open stance. Oh, he was confident in his ability to main the annoying boy, but, then again, Stacy was nearby. Not only did she express a desire not to fight, but he wasn't completely sure how destructive Norman got when fighting, so she could easily get caught in the crossfire, or he could do more damage to a ship that he dearly wished to get off of already.

It was because of those reasons that Syrin didn't immediately whip out his dagger at the mention of the word "stab" and throw it at the back of Norman's head. Or pull out a length of chain and strangle the life out of him. Or really do anything. There really was no reaction, except for another unimpressed raised eyebrow. Truly, it wasn't like he had any emotional investment in the word, and he really didn't care about the nickname one way or another, as it really wasn't wrong. It was the principle of the matter, he couldn't just allow someone to think they could threaten him willy nilly and get away with it unscathed. But, he supposed that this time he could allow the threat to his person to pass. Though, truly, if he were to meet Norman after this little mission was over, there would be no hesitation in indulging in his violent tendencies.

That didn't mean he couldn't teach him a lesson. Noting that Stacy was looking at him, he simply tilted his head to the side and put his left index finger in front of his mouth in a shushing motion. Slowly and silently dangling out some of the chain from around his arm, he made sure that there was enough to make noise, but not enough to actually reach Norman. Pulling out his flask, he clipped it to the chain, and in one quick motion, threw it at the back of Norman's head, already knowing that it was about a foot too short to actually reach him. Just as the chain was about to reach it's limit, he tugged it back, and caught the flask, whimsically opening it and taking a drink after he did so. All the while, the same, apathetic look graced his face, though, he did look over at Stacy and a ghost of a smirk crossed across his features.

Keya Fenris

The idea of taking Seth to her island if they became friends did sound kind of appealing. The dwarves would be happy to know of another human that treated them kindly, instead of trying to capture them as slaves. She couldn't understand why humans were usually so cruel like that. Okay, she could kind of..from a monetary viewpoint. Dwarves were strong and fast, they made good workers and thus good slaves. Back on point she tuned out her own thoughts in favor of Seth introducing himself. A lot of information was dumped on her at once, most of it irrelevant.

She'd never heard of the island he was talking about, although it seemed interesting. Not having a family and moreso being raised by an entire tribe seemed odd though. Surely he knew who his parents were? Or maybe he was abandoned on the island? Keya wasn't sure, it was kind of confusing if she were to be honest. When he asked if she could help find the 'biggest prank' she looked entirely confused. "
Uhh..I guess so?" She replied. Though, she doubted he paid attention as he started talking directly after. Man, she thought she talked alot. This guy had her beat by a longshot! He didn't even give her time to answer about racing, destroying the bell, or anything else before he started sprinting for the place; leaving her to cling to his shirt and shoulder for dear life.

"
Hey! I'll race you and tottally win and do all that stuff, but you gotta let me get down first!" She shouted. "C'mon! Slow down! Lemme off!" She cried, getting kind of sick from being tossed around violently where he was running. She was suddenly regretting this very much.

Cygnus Albireo

Cygnus' face turned red. How could he have been so rude to interrogate her, so stupid to not hink about the fact that information could be in the form of an object that could be stolen. 'I-I'm terribly sorry.' He said ashamed. 'I didn't mean to question your honorable intentions. It was just ... I ... My conscience took over. O-of course I will help you search, if only to compensate for my shameful introduction. M-my sincere apologies.' The lady seemed a bit detached. She didn't care about him and probably thought he was a stupid loser, and why wouldn't she? Cygnus sensed a lot of danger around her and was a bit afraid of her. His guts told him to teleport away as fast as possible, but he wanted to prove himself that there was some courage left in him. He wanted to be the helping hand, the heroes sidekick who supported her in times of need. Such a shame that nobody appreciated the sidekick, especially when he wasn't needed. And Cygnus was barely good enough to be a sidekick.

He realized that he needed to create some space between him and the woman. Just in case she would explode or rage or something. With trembling knees he said:
'So, how do you suppose we should catch this girl? Shall we split up? I-if I may suggest so ... I think we can each t-take s part of the area so that we can find the girl faster. T-The first to find her can give a signal to the other. O-or maybe you have a b-better plan? I d-didn't want to affront your tactics, of course.' He hoped she didn't notice his fear. They say that a lot of dangers can smell fear. He tried to calm down and waited for the woman's answer.

Cletus T. Bass

Nothing. Nothing happened. Cletus sat on deck, his cigarette burnt close to the butt. He had been guarding the ship for a while now, but it seemed like the docks weren't very active. With the rumors of the map to the One Piece it seemed like every pirate group were too busy searching inland than to mess with each others' ships. Cletus let out a bored sounding grunt. He could be helping his Captain instead of sitting on his ass. He could be helping her find the thief she wanted to hire.

Deciding that he could always fix the Charybdis if someone messed with her while he was gone, Cletus stood up and walked down the gangplank and onto the docks. He flicked his worn down cigarette into a trashcan as he walked into town. Still visibly armed, Cletus glanced around at all of the town activity. He didn't know what the thief looked like, but if he found his crewmates or Captain he could help coordinate the search with them.

Scarlet Johanna Indigrid and Harleen Van Sant

Harleen listened carefully while her captain conversed with the apparently informed man. She remained silent in the background, right until the conversation came to an end. ”Miss Scarlet? I believe that direction leads to the docks… I came from there earlier. Shall we go there or would you rather I find them for you?” she asked obediently, still hunched over.

Scarlet glanced back briefly and considered for a moment. “The docks, hmm?” For a moment, her expression was oddly serious. It wasn’t something that happened to her very often. Excitement soon replaced it though. “Well, if no one’s there, I can show you my ship! It’s a beautiful ship! That’s exciting, right!?”

Harleen nodded, an empty smile on her face. ”It sounds very exciting, yes.” she agreed and stepped towards Scarlet with clumsy steps, waiting for her to lead the way. ”What shall we do about the thief if we don’t find them there?”

As Scarlet started walking, she considered the next question that came up. “Hmm… I kinda forgot about them…” she sighed as she admitted it to herself. “We can ask Jasper and the new guy to help us find the thief. Jasper’s good at everything. He should be able to find our thief, no doubt. I just think it would be fun to have a good thief on our crew, don’t you?”

Her pace picked up as she continued walking, now with multiple reasons to head toward the docks. “Besides, pirates are supposed to be thieves and I’m not very good at that and you don’t seem like a good thief either so we have to find someone.

Harleen trotted along quietly, showing no judgment of her captain’s forgetful nature. ”Of course, Jasper” she agreed ”I can aid him if you’d like me to. she offered, no letting her head sink, her face hidden by the long streaks of white hair. Scarlet asking her opinion, however rhetorical the question might’ve been, caused a sort of short circuit in Harley’s mind, forcing her conditioned response to agree with whatever her masters asked of her and critical thought - something she’s long been stripped of - to collide.

”Adding-aspects-to-round-out-a-crew-is-always-a-wise-choice.” she blurted out, the words coming in rapid succession, as if learned and recited back to a teacher.

“Right!” Scarlet nodded forcefully in agreement. Brown hair cascaded over her head and covering her eyes and for a moment, Scarlet simply laughed at it before she ran her arm underneath the tangled thickness of hair and tossed it back to where it belonged - not in front of her face.

As for whether or not Harleen would help Jasper, Scarlet decided that was a matter for later. Maybe they would find the thief at the docks and then it wouldn’t matter any which way who helped who. Scarlet merely allowed her feet to carry her towards their destination, ceasing with conversation for the moment.

One thing marvelous about being at the docks was the simple sight of the sea. The water was shimmering, clear and beautiful. The sun had not yet touched the horizon though it was clear midday had come and gone by now. All the ships lined up to show exactly how many people were in Mirstone at the moment and it was quite impressive. None of that really drew Scarlet’s eyes though. Her eyes ran along the shore, seeking out anyone familiar or suspicious and she quickly found herself looking at a woman drawing a map.

‘Map lady?’ That had been the title of a person she was curious about. Perhaps this was her.

Scarlet had absolutely no qualms at all with walking right up to the woman. “You’re drawing a map?” It may have seemed like an odd question, but it was more to get the woman’s attention. Peering over the woman’s shoulder, Scarlet tried to see as much of it as she could. “Wouldn’t happen to be a map to the One Piece, would it?” A slight chuckle escaped her though she really had no expectation that it was.

A none too slight smirk blossomed on Yumi’s face as Cygnus started apologizing to her for something she hadn’t taken any offense to at all. She didn’t stop him. The only movement she made was the growing crease in her lips. It was simply amusing for her to watch. “Good!” she replied promptly to his agreement to help, a slight high pitch in her tone suggesting that maybe she was glad for the help although that gladness could have come from many places presumably.

“Splitting up could be wise,” she agreed, this time in more of a tone of nonchalance. “I’ll go east and you’ll head west.” Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a simple compass, gesturing to east and west as she said each of them because she had no reason to know if he could understand those directions or not and given they were in the maze of an alley, she didn’t quite have a sense of direction herself at the moment.

“She’s about this tall,” she held a hand at approximately five feet off the ground, “she has red hair and she’s probably running. She’s been running since she leaped off the ship.”

The last part was a bit trickier. Yumi knew she would have no problem signaling if she found the girl first. In fact, the mere suggestion of a ‘signal’ brought a chuckle to her lips. However, she didn’t know about him; if he would be able to signal her if he found the girl first.
“As for what to do if you find her, signal me if you can,” though her tone implied she did not believe he could. “If that doesn’t work, take her to the docks. Someone on my crew will recognize her. Tell them you were working with me and you should be fine. They’ll know how to find me.”

NPC Notes

Location: Hiding

Age: 12

Gender: Female

Eventually losing track of her way, Abigail still kept moving even if she knew and fully understood that she would end up more lost than she already was because moving was the only way she knew to keep getting further and further away from the woman who was chasing her. Unless she somehow turned around and winded up walking right back into her… the mere suggestion of the idea in her head sent a quiver through the young girl’s spine as she tried to convince herself that that would not happen. It couldn’t.

‘Yes, that’s the way to think!’

Turn after turn, spin after spin, part of Abigail truly wondered what this maze of corners and pathways would look like if she could look down on it. Unfortunately, she was likely never going to get to see that. She cut the thought almost as soon as it came, but that didn’t stop her from looking up and her eyes fell upon the strangest figure. There was a man on the roof.

For a moment, Abigail cupped her hands over her mouth as if to call up to him. Then she stopped herself. If she yelled too loud, she could easily be found. She settled for just moving again, noting that he was looking away from her. Maybe the way out was close…?

Sure enough, Abigail made a single left turn and found herself free of the alleyway. She had to resist the urge to dance. One glance behind her confirmed that she was not being followed at the moment and she headed into the crowds of people, actually trying to take her time for once. Running would make her easier to spot and if Yumi found her again, Abigail knew she would not be able to escape.

Her path slowly forming, Abigail found herself wondering how she really planned to escape. She couldn’t stay on the island forever. In her thoughts, she bumped into a woman coming out of the marketplace.
“Oh… I’m sorry. I… I wasn’t paying attention,” Abigail swiftly admitted. Her eyes wandered up to the woman and she realized that the woman seemed a bit lost in thought as well. Suddenly she didn’t feel as bad.
