Fantasy ~Magicborne OOC and Bants~

The setting of this RP is medieval/renaissance, which I believe coincides with around 10th-14th centuries. So very basic technology such as windmills, clocks, agricultural techniques for planting crops, etc. When taking magic into account, specific areas that require certain techniques would attract certain mages and their abilities. For example- a wind mage could enhance the efficiency of windmills or a fire mage could work in the furnaces as a blacksmith. Because the magic veins are tied to the universe and nature itself, mages mainly use their abilities to enhance or support the technology that already exists, but not necessarily affect it directly. So to answer your question, the technology used in this world would be equivalent to the typical technology you would see in a medieval setting :)

Yes we intend on taking this story to its end! Hope you end up joining but we really appreciate your interest even if you end up becoming a reader instead :)

Alright, wonderful. Thanks for the quick response, the integration of magic into medieval scenes is always an enjoyable topic to delve into (for me, at least)!

I mean the soul stealing kind, like a Vampyre stealing the essence of another. I was thinking of a darker character that used that ability accidentally (maybe).

Ah got it. Well, once someone has cannabilised another's soul, that person becomes instantly addicted to the process after just one time and becomes a creature solely dedicated to vampyrism. Thus, if your character used this ability (whether it was on purpose or by accident), he/she is now a Vampyre and would not fit as a playable character in this RP

Actually, on that topic! While characters will not be brought in as Vampyres due to the self-destruction involved, might they end up going down such a path via RP while remaining playable? Likely to result in their death shortly after, I could see such an act being a fairly interesting side-story/battle if it ever came down to that.

Ah. Well then! Thank you for the information. I can work with this.

That would be awesome!

Hmm, I guess this would depend on how quickly the addiction to cannibalism consumes the person after the first act of vampyrism, which would affect whether or not the character remains playable during that window of time. I'll talk to Ginge about this and get back to you guys!

Hey, I just had a little question. What kind of blessing can a charmer give a weapon? Would it be just like enhanced durability or something along the lines?

Alright, great, take your time if needed! Though, another question to add to the load: Would there be any repercussions to a character having ties with Meridania? Family originating from there and whatnot?

K, but the real question is when does Magic surface?
I'll talk to Ginge about this and he'll give you an answer when he comes online!

Did the twins disappear overnight at the pregnancy or did they disappear on a later date?
Our RP will start on the night right before the twins disappear, which is about 19 years after birth

Hey, I just had a little question. What kind of blessing can a charmer give a weapon? Would it be just like enhanced durability or something along the lines?
Yes exactly! Increased durability, strength, precision, speed, efficiency, etc. (arrows could be shot more accurately, shields could be more durable, poisons can be more toxic, etc.)

They would probably be treated with more suspicion yes, but it would depend on how recently the family immigrated over, how well known this information is, how likable and trustworthy the family is, etc.

Ooooh, this definitely makes for a fun time. Any physical traits to take note of, or are they all fairly similar in looks? As well, how long has the war between Meridania and Nortalis been raging? I'm hoping to have brought in the family juuust before the war, though that would be dependent on the timeline.

They're fairly similar, each with your normal amount of variety. Although, Ginge did use Latin/Italian root names for the Nortalians and Hebrew root names for the Meridanians, so take that as you will!

It seems like the war has been going on for as long as anyone can remember, but I'll let Ginge decide exactly how long ago it all started

Wonderful, thanks for all the help. Gonna try keeping questions a bit more specific and in bulk as to keep from all too much spam, hope to finish writing up a CS soon!

Do magical items (rings, staves, etc) stack? If I were to hold a staff, wear a ring, and wear more magical equipment would it stack and reduce the amount of magic used?

Oh! One minor detail I was hoping to get confirmation on which slipped my mind while writing the last, what would the rules be on pets and whatnot, if any are allowed to begin with? Nothing all too big like a "completely tame lion nursed back to health" or anything, I'm thinking along the lines of domesticated animals such as dogs, cats, birds and whatnot.

Another question, while I am finishing up my dude. How detailed do you want to the twin applications to be?

Hmmm my guess is that they would stack, but there is a limit as to how much magic exertion can be channeled into any external objects. So after a certain point, it wouldn't matter how much extra magic equipment you wear, as they amount of strain would still be the same. However, I will let Ginge elaborate more on this when he comes online

Yes I believe that domesticated animals would be allowed, so long as they are as realistic as what you would see in the real world

Another question, while I am finishing up my dude. How detailed do you want to the twin applications to be?
As detailed as you would like it to be! The twin application is not intended to be as detailed as the main character form, but of course, any extra necessary detail is welcomed

Two things: 1) you forgot to fill out your twin application form! 2) for the purposes of the plot, we would like the twin to have the ability to harness a magic vein as well- however, perhaps she was a late bloomer and was teased for a good chunk of her life (to stay consistent with your current backstory)
