Name:

Asher Isaac Overland.

Asher: Hebrew - happy.

Isaac: Hebrew - he laughs.

Overland: English - by land.

Nicknames:

The friends he used to have called him Ash.

Age:

Nineteen.

Date of Birth:

February 23rd.

Zodiac:

Pisces.

Traits:

To say that Asher is an interesting boy would be an understatement. He's an enigma, a being of contradictions and paradoxes. He's the gentlest boy you'll ever meet, but can snap someone's bone without flinching. He's extremely intelligent and aware of more than people give him credit for, but oddly oblivious. He's more mature than he should have to be, but childish in demeanor. A strange boy, indeed. He's rather quiet and very rarely talks, and when he does, it's usually prophetic bullshit that makes no sense to those around him, but there's usually more truth to it than people assume. He's extremely good at "guessing" facts about people and their lives, and will present this knowledge in the most casual way possible, calmly asking a nurse if he remembered to feed his goldfish, or questioning another prisoner - ahem,
patient - about their relationship with that one girl. What was her name, Linda? He's almost serene in aura, tranquil and soft-spoken, but those who have had the misfortune of fighting with him say it's like arguing with the sun; heated and intense, with Asher extruding fiery passion and burning bitterness. He's very graceful, every move seeming like part of a long and intricate dance, and is also quite agile, flexible with a high endurance when it comes to running. He's spacey and quirky, but also extremely analytical, and due to this, he loves puzzles. Rubix cubes, crosswords, jigsaws, he loves them all. He also greatly enjoys art and is a talented artist, preferring to stick to colored pencils, pastels or ink instead of paint. Though he comes across as innocent, Asher knows more about the horrors of the world than just about anyone else. After all, he's experienced many of them first hand, and they left him traumatized. He has PTSD in the sense that panic attacks come rarely, but when they do, they're extremely intense, and he has a lot of trouble trusting strangers - then again, is anyone ever really a stranger to him? Throughout the multiple lives he's had, he's had his heart broken and stitched back together time and time again. Maybe that's why he's so happy and placid all the time. He's seen and been through so much, that even the torment he is put through at the institution doesn't phase him anymore. Perhaps suffering is has become part of his day-to-day life.

Appearance:

Asher is an attractive boy, though he'd probably be more so with a few steady meals. He's worryingly thin, pale skin pulled tight around the bones, with willowy limbs, small hands and feet, and just a slender physique overall, standing at a mere 5" due to a lack of nutrition stunting his growth. He has fair skin, with a spattering of freckles on his cheeks, nose, shoulders and the upper part of his chest, with a small birthmark between his shoulder blades that resembles a flower if you squint. His face is thin and heart-shaped, with high cheek bones and an upturned nose, topped off by his eyes, which are possibly his best feature. Beautifully large and framed by long eyelashes, they're warm amber in color, contrasting nicely with his light skin and dark hair. Speaking of his hair, it's raven black in color and a constant mess, choppy in style. Likely because it has to be cut quickly since Asher doesn't trust anyone to hold scissors against his neck and not stab him with them. More often than not, Asher is covered in bruises and scrapes, but among them, there are a few scars that will never fade. There are a few crisscrossing scars on his left forearm, as well as a small one near his jaw, a few small burn scars on his back and a long but shallow and faded one a few inches above his right hip.

Style:

Asher always dressed a little out there, for lack of a better term. He liked to wear t-shirts with phrases he thought described him, such as
Big Brother, AKA, Sister Protector in messy writing, quirky leggings that were technically made for females (his favorite was a teal pair with the design of hip and leg bones on the front) and a pair of faded converse that he undoubtedly drew all over at some point. This was usually accompanied by a few scratch n' sniff stickers with especially pleasant scents stuck to his cheeks, a beaded necklace that his little sister made for him, and an ancient ring he always wears on his left ring finger. His mother once pointed out that people generally wore their wedding ring on that finger, to which Asher offered a vague smile and responded, "I know." Of course, now that he lives in the institution, he wears the same white pajamas everyday.

Romantic / Sexual Orientation:

Homoromantic / Homosexual.

Notable Relationships:

[x]
David Phineas Overland, forty-six - father:

Though David loves his son, he also has very specific ideals. While he's not homophobic, as many may assume considering his traditional nature, he doesn't stand for any sort of tomfoolery. He's never believed in the supernatural, and essentially views death as a black void of nothingness, so when Asher claimed that he could remember living a bunch of different lives before the one he was leading, David didn't believe him. Not for a moment. He let Aneta pass it off as his wild imagination when he was younger, but as he aged, it was harder to ignore. As far as David's concerned, sending him to the institution was for the best. Little did he know the living hell he was sending his beloved son into.

[x]
Aneta Elise Overland, forty-four - mother:

In this particular life, Asher has always been a little closer with his mother than he was with his father. Aneta was always a little more patient with him when he went on tangents about strangers on the street, claiming he knew who they were and telling her all about their lives, and was generally the one to calm him down when he had a panic attack about something he swore he experienced, even if it wasn't possible. A common one was "remembering" the horrors of the holocaust. He wasn't even alive then, so where did these nightmares about gas chambers come from? It was even more alarming to Aneta, considering she and her side of the family were Jewish.

[x]
Joanna Honey Overland, fourteen - sister:

There is no one in the whole entire universe, not in any of his past lives or this current one, that matters more to Asher than Joanna. She's the only one that honestly believes him about the past lives, even if all of the authority figures in her life told her not to and she had no real proof. Why? Because she has that much faith in her big brother, the one who has always protected her, the one who gave her oceans of love and banished nightmares with kisses pressed to her temple and warm hugs. It's been hard to have him locked up, since she can only visit him twice a week, but it hasn't affected the love they have for each other. The happiest times for Asher are when she's let in.

[x]
Abigail Theresa Edlynn, twenty-one - best friend:

Nicknamed Abby, the girl has always been one of the closest friends that Asher has. Though she doesn't believe in the past lives, even if she tells him she does, she's one of the few that has been able to calm him down during a panic attack or wake him from a hallucination. She visits him whenever she can and views him as a little brother, very protective of him. It doesn't matter to her that he's locked up, that most of the town thinks he's a complete loony. He's still the little kid who came over for sleepovers, a thick black wrapped around his shoulders like a magnificent cloak with a thousand stories tucked up his sleeve, just waiting to be told.

Short Biography:

Asher has always been a very special boy, with a very special ability: he's able to remember his past lives, and it's not an ability that started in this particular life. Oh no, he's had it for every life he's ever lived. On a normal basis, he's only been able to remember two of his past lives at the most, but for whatever reason, in this particular life, he remembers about twelve. Perhaps that's why his mental health deteriorated as he aged. He was fine, at first. A happy child with a vivid imagination. But then, as he grew, he began to remember more, and with the new knowledge came panic attacks and nightmares. Suddenly, they weren't the stories of a creative little boy. They were dangerous, something that was causing him real problems. Aneta managed to dissuade David from sending Asher away for the longest time, until they found him in the bathroom when he was twelve, pieces of skin littering the floor and blood pouring down his arms. When they found him, he frantically told them that he had no choice, that the sickness was in his blood and he had to get it out. It was then that they had him committed. Unfortunately, the institution they sent him to - the Eldridge Institute - was a far from moral place. The employees were condescending and cruel to their charges, and the head of the corporation, Alvin Verolomen, who was generally very detached from his work, took a strange and twisted interest in the pretty young boy who was delivered right into his hands,

Extra Information:

[x] One may be wondering the origin of the ring. It's actually the wedding ring that Asher and his soul mate have been using for almost all their past lives. Just as it's fate for them to find each other and fall in love, it's fate for the rings to come into each of their possession in one way or another. In this lifetime, Asher happened to find it in a field on the outskirts of a town he and his family visited on vacation when he was seven. He recognized it immediately, and has worn it everyday since.

Name: Arthur Regis Valintino

Nicknames:

Close friends, and family members refer to him as: "Arthy", another common name associated with him is: "Regis", which was the name of his great-grandfather who served in the navy in World War Two. Of course, thats what he was told.

Age: Twenty-Two

Date of Birth: 1994

Zodiac: Cancer

Traits:

Arthur is the oldest sibling of two, and has always been tasked with a lot of unforeseen tasks, specifically leadership. His parents, two wealthy real estate tycoons often left a lot of the parental development to him alone, as they paid for maids to do all the cleaning; so he wasn't completely alone. But he has never gotten credit for that. Arthur's parents constantly tack stress on him, and blame events on him that he had no idea of, to be frank, he was the scapegoat of the family. But he has not let this define him. Arthur developed a ridged shell when dealing with pushiness, and aggravation—so he is slow to anger, and responds rationally in most cases.

Although Arthur may be slow to irritate, he is not slow to resent people. He has an issue with grudges, a very big one. Sure, he may not act on it, but when someone shows a small sign of resentment, or disgust, he takes it very personally. And that impression is very slow to rub off, but Arthur has found that it's best to keep any negative feelings hidden. Now this is not to say he bottles things up, quite on the contrary, Arthur is very open with people. He doesn't mind sharing his personal experiences, and endeavors, and has been known to go on rants that could last from ten minutes to an hour; for that reason, many of his professors find it very handy to deny him any public speaking opportunity.

On account of being friendly, and outgoing, one would think Arthur has many friends, but the sad fact is no. Well, it's a yes and a no. Does he speak with people regularly? Yes. Does he have many friend groups? Yes. Does he go out with them? Yes. Does he relate to them? No. Arthur feels like he has no true friends, because the thought of expressing himself around them is so terrifying. One of his biggest hopes is to find someone that's just willing to sit down, and let him ramble on about the most obscure topics. He has yet to find that someone.

Appearance:

Arthur stands at 6 feet two inches, with broad shoulders, and crew cut blond hair. He has somewhat white teeth, but has had a right molar removed at the age of seven due to infection. Arthur does do a bit of jogging, but for the most part he's fairly inactive. The only way to completely annoy him easily is to ask what color his eyes are. To him, they look hazel, but to others them seem just brown. In reality, they're more hazel, but definitely more brown based.

His face is almost always freshly shaven, usually going two to three days without shaving at a time, that being said, has been trying to grow a successful beard—so why shave? Because there are several bald spots on his face, where hair has never cropped up before. That was why. Who would want a full beard with holes in it? Yuck.

Style:

Arthur has a very casual feel around him at all times, and it definitely shows on his outfit choice. This is partially due to him going to private schools for his primary, and secondary schooling—he hated the stuffy uniforms with a passion. He typically favors a tank top with shorts when he's at home without company, and prefers darker tones of color, not because he feels they represent him, but because darker colors always made him feel more relaxed.

When he does clinicals at a local psychiatric center, he has to wear a white lab coat with a pastel color beneath it. His mentor told him that darker colors had negative effects on patient's moods, thus he had to pick out bright undershirts to go with his sterile white top. Disgusting is what he thinks. His lab coat has his last name embroiled under the school's name: "St. Jude's Mental Health Institute of Higher Learning", which is basically hogwash for: "Learn how to handle psychos". At any opportunity, he will dress for comfort; so it's very crucial that people provide him with a dress standard otherwise he'd turn up to a cocktail party in shorts and a graphic tee...no one wants that.

Romantic / Sexual Orientation:

Homoromantic/Homosexual

Notable Relationships:

Thomas Waes Valintino-

Arthur's father, whose family migrated from Florence, Italy, coming to America with dreams bigger than their coffers. Eventually, luck smiled upon their family, and slowly stacked apartment upon apartment under their control. Eventually owning an entire apartment building in Brooklyn, which eventually spread throughout the city to having at least two family owned facilities in each barrow. Ever since then, the family has exploded. Jumping from state to state, they have established a real estate empire, having a handful in each state, save Alaska, and Hawaii. Those two states is what Thomas has worked towards claiming his entire career. Once he would accomplish this, he will take them to international heights; but having several other competitors constantly rattle him for gains has kept his time occupied. Any free time he has is spent with his wife, and middle son, who he has claimed as his protégé. Thomas believes Arthur is weak, and has no sense of business. Something that has caused Arthur to act harshly towards the man.

Jenny Galager Valintino-

Arthur's mom was around a lot more than his father, but it still wasn't enough. She was still busy just like his father but on a different note. Unlike his father, she didn't handle direct business, rather, she was more of a legal, and PR manager, so she could mainly work at home. Even though she was in the house often, Jenny was very busy with what she was doing, and any free time was spent with her husband, or contacts.

Now, since Arthur has been away at school she has let her hair down more, and has only remained in control of the company's PR. But this only happened when Arthur left, and he has reason to believe that her work was just an excuse to be away from him. Of course, that could just be paranoia.

Thomas Waes Valintino (17)& Grace Galager Valintino(15)-

Arthur's younger siblings, they were tightly knitted siblings, who spent hours discussing ideas, and playing games, even when Arthur was getting a little too old to be partaking in child's play, he did it for the sake of them. Their parents didn't pay much attention to them for the first portion of their lives, meaning that maids often stepped in as maternal roles. The three siblings had a strong bond, but that bond shook a bit when Arthur went off to school, and Thomas was caught in their father's expansive world view. The three siblings are all on good terms, and regularly communicate—although mainly around holidays, birthdays, and when an issue arises. Not much for small talk.

Short Biography:

Arthur was born in a relatively wealthy family. When he was born, and up to five years old when Thomas arrived, the family only had the east coat in their grasp. When Grace came two years later, they had swept through the midwest, and by the time Carter had left to college, they had a hotel in every capital (save Alaska & Hawaii). Their net worth was impressive, and they had only begun to invest in the stock market, something that has yet to pan out major gains.

Aside from the early economic success that marked his childhood, Arthur didn't face much of it. He wasn't good academically for the first portion of his schooling; he nearly failed all his primary classes if not his father made hefty donations to the school, but by secondary he was whipped into action. Arthur doesn't know what spurred that spark in him, he was never specially challenged...he just...needed a fuse to be lit. Whatever lit it had immense effects on him.

With the academic success only achieving him B's, he had never made the Dean's list, but was confined to the Honor Roll--but one thing he excelled at was art. Arthur was a gifted doodler, who, by his mother's suggesting, became a gifted painter. Arthur never had the knack for graphic art, he just prefers the feel of a brush or pen. Most of his drawings deal with scenic outlooks...but they all share a dark theme. They aren't bright, and fluffy scenes, usually a wavy sea accompanied by a black-sand beach. Arthur always preferred darker shades.

But his father was against any sort of art career, stating that the family needed: "Money-makers, not money wasters.", this broke his heart. Arthur, at this point, was lost about what he wanted to do with himself. He was awfully down in the dumps, not at all depressed, but in a very blue mood for quite sometime. All of this ended when he was watching the local news one day, and watched a man on a bridge about to jump to his doom, luckily, the man safely went to authorities, and no one was injured, but seeing someone on the edge like that made his heart break. Ever sense that experience, he knew he wanted to help those who didn't know, or couldn't help themselves.

Arthur enrolled in George Town College's Psychiatric Physician's program at the age of eighteen. Ready to make a difference like many undergrads.

Extra Information:

(Maybe some information that Asher can use just to freak Arthur out?)

Arthur loves dogs...like really loves dogs. Specifically welsh corgis.

Arthur's guilty pleasure is dipping french fries in strawberry yogurt. They taste good!

Arthur has always had an affection of the sea, but has never learned to swim.

Arthur keeps a dream journal that continually has reoccurrences of a man reciting some long thought out confession. Although he never rememberes what it was each time he brings pen to paper. He just remembers how serious it was.

Arthur loves 19th-20th century literature. He thinks modern books are overrated. Basically a dirty hipster.

His biggest fear is being bitten
