Fantasy Love Love Love! Quest

Hearing Lucius' explanation, Greysen stood up thanking him with a smile before making her way over to the seated Izaria. Even though she was sitting it was more than obvious that she was much much more smaller and younger than in Sofya which made her crack another subtle smile before it faded back to her neutral expression. It looks like she wasn't the only one that was reduced in size which in a way relieved Greysen. Opening a book on "Physics of Electricity" she began study the scribbles which was a code, the english code more or less. It didn't take long before reading it was like reading the Sofyan language but rather keeping concentration was more trouble.

Working with the hoeres? How is this going to work? What if they underhand us.. Can't completely trust them and I'm sure they don't completely trust us either. Teaming up with them will never be good news… but if Lucius believes this will help.. I will go with it for now. Thoughts wandered for a bit, now she was just staring at letters and flipping pages while all the information simply went into one ear and out the other. Fighting and strategizing where more of her forte than reading scribbles on paper especially from another world.

Finishing a paragraph on Parrots, Izaria looked up to a girl with long red hair reading a book called "Physics of Electricity". She seemed familiar... wait! "Greyson!? Oh my Azazel, you- you have breasts!" She exclaimed this louder than she meant to, calling the attention of the librarian. With a hushed voice she asks "Did you just arrive?" A sigh escapes her. "Either way, at least we have another person from Rugia here. Before it was just me and Lucius, while the heroes side has Takao, Lorelei, and Ellowyn. So, when fighting breaks out we have the advantage of experience." She closes the encyclopedia and props her feet up on the table. "Do you want me to catch you up on everything thats happened to us?"

Grinning like a little kid on Christmas Day, Theo took the papers into his hands and immediately began working on it. Picking up a blue ballpoint pen, Theo was about to press down on the paper to start writing the steps to the solution when he did the mental math quickly. "Ah, the answer. It's 42." Grabbing a spare sheet of paper to scribble down his checking process, Theo gave Lucius a thumbs up and turned to look at the seemingly confused newcomer.

Spinning the papers around to show Lucius the answer, Theo reached over and began skimming over what the girl was reading. "By increasing the gravitational pull, we may be able to create a tear in the time and space continuum, opening what you would call a magic portal." Smiling at the girl in a friendly manner, Theo leaned back and glanced over at Lucius. "Using electricity from appliances is a good idea, props to you for thinking of that." The redhead sat back down and looked over at the small Izaria, who seemed to be very startled about seeing a girl with breasts.

Hearing Izaria's reaction to his now female form, he gave her a rather awkward smile. "I arrived a while ago but I only found everyone right now. You actually passed me on your way here so I followed after." Explaining in his soft tone while closing the book that he only got minimal information from. "A short summary of what has happened so far may help, it could explain a bit more why we're working with not only the hoeres but also humans from this earth-place."

@Defective Kitten @Nikolajsen

Izaria looked over at Theo, who had heard her reaction to seeing Greysen. Waving it off nonchalantly, she said, "It's a long story." Turning back to Greysen, she gathered her breath and started at the beginning.

(I don't have the patience to type it all out, but if you really want me to I'll edit it later)

"So yeah. Thats basically all thats happened so far." Izaria looked out the window. The sun was just starting to lower beyond the horizon, and the sky seemed to be painted in a multitude of reds, oranges, and pinks. The sight took her breath away. "Its so pretty." She whispered under her breath. It was her first time seeing Earths sunset. She got out of her chair and tried to reach the window, but she was too short to reach the windowsill and look out of it directly. When jumping proved to be useless, she simply sat on the floor with her arms crossed and muttered to herself "This has to be one big practical joke that the universe is playing on me..."

Greysen listened intently to her story, sighing when she finished. She laid her head down on the table almost in grief but still continued to watch Izaria's movements, especially when she couldn't even reach the windowsill to watch the earth sunset. Feeling a bit of pity for her comrade, Greysen stood up from her seat and walked over to where Izaria was pouting, picking her up from behind and lifting her into the sill. It was funny seeing her so small while in Sofya, he always had to stare up at her which cramped up her neck. "So hows life being so short?" Asking her with a giggle- Wait. Did I just giggle!? Like a girl?? Oh my Sofya..

@Defective Kitten

Izaria made a noise of surprise when Greysen picked her up and put her on the windowsill, but other than that and a very, very soft thanks she didn't say much. From the windowsill, she looked out of the window where the colors started fading darkness and the sun was almost completely swathed in the darkness coming. Below the horizon, lights were starting to pop up in different colors and sizes. Staring softly out the window, she shrugged and spoke in a less guarded tone than before "Humbling. My neck hurts a bit." She laughs quietly. "But thats how people had to look up at me." A sigh escapes her. Maybe she had been too quick to make a judgment on the humans. They might be mortal, weak, and a little bit stupid, but thats what made this world beautiful in its own way. Humans held a spark within them that allowed them to adapt in the worst and create in the best of times. How would they have survived without magic this far without it! They're stronger than I gave them credit for. To harbor these unnecessary emotions that cause your heart to feel like its being placed upon millions of pins and needles, or to experience the sudden flight of hundreds of birds in your stomach every day of their lives? It would be hell for me thats for sure. They're like the watercolor that splashes onto the sky just before the sun disappears. To be so beautiful, yet so short lived that in the blink of an eye they disappear. But, then the sun rises again, and more colors are born than destroyed again. We are so different, or at least we were. I am supposed to live for hundreds maybe thousands of years before I finally die of sickness or battle. I am fated to be the darkness that swallows these beautiful things up. Then why is one supposed to live longer than the other? Why would the darkness last longer? She shakes her head and thinks, While I'm here I'll try to enjoy these colors for as long as I can.

As days passed and the research continued, the mismatched group got to know one another and grew closer while the progress to creating the magic portal increased. Although there were some minor set backs (i.e. living quarters and the ability to pay their rent), the heroes and villains were invited to stay at the filthy rich Vitatlia estate. The demon king, Lucius, and boy genius, Theo Vitalia, worked on their theory of opening the portal for endless days and sleepless nights. The largest leap they took was when one Aurora Calikoka discovered the existence of the human holiday
Halloween.

Halloween was the holiday in which the humans of Earth celebrated the spirits of the dead. It was a wild idea but attempting to open the portal on All Hallows' Eve would increase the chances by further stretching the rip between time and space. With all of the theory and equations worked out and much of the appliances gathered (by different means...), all that was truly left to do was put together the contraption that would run all of the appliances at once and wait until the Halloween dance. However, there was just one problem; they might just need a sacrifice for the portal to work.

Elle took a break from her work to look at a flyer she found earlier that day. I was a black piece of paper with orange lettering and a lot of glitter. It invited anyone who wished to attend a costume ball. Apparently there would be dancing, snacks, and punch (which had to be explained to her, because why would anyone want to go to a party only to be punched in the face?) This 'ball' sounded like it might actually be fun, maybe they could go for a bit before executing their master plan to get home. It couldn't hurt after all the work they'd gone through they deserved a little fun right? Besides they had to be there to open the portal anyway, no harm would come from a bit of entertainment first. Ellowyn desperately missed the lavish parties that the Fae courts held and thought it was the perfect end to their time in this wretched world.

"Hey guys?" she said walking into the room where some of her companions were gathered, "It seems this Halloween dance might be a bit of fun." Elle held up the flyer showing them, "Do you think maybe we could go to it as a sort of last farewell to this world?" It seemed like a good idea to her, they could even dress up if they wanted.

Lucius looks up from huddling over his sketches in the corner. "I will not attend," he says plainly before flipping the page in his notebook, doing some more calculations and pulling it closer to his face, still being secretive about the inner details. "I need to check things over one last time, and the only time I can check over mine and Theo's work is, uh..." Lucius thinks for a moment, then shrugs. "...whenever that disaster is." He suddenly looks up. "Actually, humans usually take dates to these ... 'dances,' yes? I am quite certain I am the only one of us who is fine with sacrificing a human. I will find a girl - with nice O-negative blood - and I will sacrifice her when the time is right. Good? Good."

Greysen had gotten somewhat used to this Earth demension (and to his female form) in the short few months they were there. She sat near the window of the living room simply eating a pudding cup that was much similar to a Sofyan custard she once tried, oh the nostalgia. Elle suggested going to a ball-like event the night of, "Dressing up in costumes and getting punched in the face? That's an odd human tradition, do you find pleasure in pain?" Half asking Theo but not really expecting an answer.

"Date? Like the fruit? Another odd earth tradition." Continuing the pudding with a peculiar expression on her face.

Elle frowned at Lucius, "Dates...? I never thought of that... Maybe it's for the best if I don't go either then." She was engaged technically, though she'd never met the guy. She didn't have any feelings for the unknown Fae prince but she wasn't sure if she should do anything that might endanger their engagement. Not that she wanted to go out with any of the humans, the whole thing was confusing.

She sighed and slumped into a chair. "Do you really have to sacrifice someone? Some poor girl with hopes and dreams and all that?" It didn't seem fair to her but at the same time she wasn't going to stop it if it was their only chance of getting home. Elle knew she was on Takao's side, the good side, but she didn't mind too much if there ended up being casualties as long as the good side won in the end. She wondered what that said about her. "Are you just going to choose the first girl you find with that blood type? How will you find out what their blood type even is? I don't know what mine is."

Izaria looked up from the book she was reading. She had taken a liking to human literature, especially non-fiction. She put the book down on the coffee table in front of her and sat up straighter. "I'd actually be interested in going to a certain extent. I want to learn more about human festivities. I'd also like to help plan the sacrifice. I'd be able to apply my experience in battle strategizing to this." It was true. She'd already had structured the skeleton of a plan, but needed it approved. Sighing and slumping back into the chair, she retreated back to her thoughts. What would she dress up as? She could go as a demon, being quite familiar with the habits of demons. Another option would be to go as an angel as a joke for those that actually know her true form. It was also tradition to go with a suitor, right? Izaria had never given marriage much of a thought before. She had always been occupied with her duty at the castle and her demon form wasn't very humanoid, which was considered attractive in her day and age. Of course, she had been proposed to but it was merely for politics. To all of those she declined saying that she wasn't interested in marriage. She shrugs. Its not mandatory so that won't come into play.

"
You could find out peoples blood types by taking the nurse's files. Or we could just ask. I heard there's this whole superstition about blood type and personality correlation." She shook her head in distaste. "Sometimes, I worry about humans and their love for the occult and supernatural. They make it so romanticized. But I guess I shouldn't be concerned about something that can get us closer to our goal."

Isis smiled at the refusal to attend the event and gave a playful smile.

"Maybe we should all go, it would be a cultural experience, I mean the plans are going ahead to get you home, you might as well take this chance and learn something about our culture?"

She looked around the group and focused on the human counter parts and knew they would get them to go. besides it would be fun to get out and have a good time. This kind of planning could get stressful real quick and maybe a dance would help everyone unwind.

The next question would be what would everyone dress as in costume. This idea would certainly be interesting to see. sighing to herself, she stifled a yawn as she had been looking into the origins of her necklace since the magic it contained was from their world so it posed the question of how did it get here.

Lorelei groaned as she removed the anthropology textbook from her face, sliding the book onto the floor. "Will it have alcohol?" Massaging her temples, Lorelei sat up from the ground, pushing the piles of books that trapped her in away. "Because I need a drink." Slowly standing up, Lorelei grabbed onto the edge of the table in order to stabilize herself. Legs shaky like a newly born giraffe, Lorelei leaned down on against the table and glanced around the group, rubbing her eyelids with her free hand. All of this reading made her remember all the sleepless nights she had when she was studying to become a Royal Mage.

"
Good Neptune, Lucius! You can't sacrifice some girl!" Lorelei exclaimed, suddenly turning to look at Lucius but paused when she saw black dots in her vision. Backing up Elle, Lorelei sighed when Izaria come up with the idea to check the school's medical records. "Well, how are we going to get access to them?" You see, sacrificing some girl wasn't exactly in Lorelei's moral code but if it was truly necessary in order to get back to Sofya to save their land then... "It's not like we can walk right into the office and ask for all the medical files of female students with a negative O blood type."

Takao was laying on the couch located in the living room in which everyone was at. He had one of his hats over his face, at least trying to get some sleep. Up all night from research about this new thing, and well..some earth things as well. Then the mention of this 'party' came about. He listened to the group talk, and Elle speak of not going. Takao had to interrupt at that point. "That man that you are engaged is irrelevant." That man she was supposed to marry was a sleeze. "Plus, you are not in the same world anymore, so I believe if you were to go with a date, he would never know now would he my dear?" Takao removed the hat from his face and sat up on the couch yawning.

ack sorry for not posting in forever--also sorry if this is horrible. I'm listening to FOB, so I'm not exactly focused. Note: I changed my age to 17, loves. Hope that doesn't complicate anything--I just felt I'd be better suited a little older. At this point Esther has no idea you lovelies are planning a sacrifice, though xD

|| Esther Bellerose ||

Ever since that day in the gymnasium, Esther made sure to stay far away from the transfer students. A new one had recently arrived, a girl with long, flaming red hair who immediately jumped in to help the students out. The library, Esther's favorite place, was always occupied by them, and she often found herself reading near the entrance, wanting to be as close as possible but too afraid to enter.

On the occasions that she had to enter the library, either for studying or returning books, she tried to pick up as many traces of conversation between the new students, and managed to finally learn all their names. From what she understood, the boy who Alayna despised went by Lucius, and was the sort of leader of the group. He had only two people that actually supported him: a girl named Izaria, and the newest member to join the group, Greysen. And then there was Lorelei, Takao, Ellowyn, Aurora, and Isis. They considered Lucius to be evil, and were temporarily working with him simply to build a portal back to their
magical land of "Sofya".

Esther had no idea what to make of Theo. She'd been going to classes with him since kindergarten, and yet the only thing she knew about him was that his mother almost died as well--the only difference was that Esther's mom actually did die. The two of them also took AP Calculus together, though Theo was normally snoozing off in the back of the class.

"They're all mental..." Esther mumbled as she forced herself into the library once more. A week had passed since the transfers' arrival. The librarian, Ms. Crosby, had quit a couple days ago, having heard enough of their insane babbling. The new media center specialist cowered in her seat at the sight of the Lucius and the rest, having been through a rough encounter with him after he tried to leave the library without checking out his books--lets just say she didn't handle his temper as well as Alayna did.

As Esther handed her overdue books to the terrified librarian, she overheard Ellowyn mention the Halloween dance, and immediately lit up with a smile. She was chairwoman of the dance committee, and had been planning the Halloween Dance for weeks now, not to mention the hours she spent sewing up her Mad Hatter costume. She knew the dance would be a blast, and was glad the transfers were planning on partaking in the fun.
"Let's hope some interaction with normal people will knock some sense into their heads..." Esther chuckled as she exited the library, pondering how she would keep the punch from being spiked this year.

Well, aren't you going to help them find costumes? I doubt they know where to find a costume store, and you know they won't be let in without a costume.

They'll be fine--they can just use their 'fairy magic' or whatever and poof some up.

What happened to helping them get used to life here? They just want to fit in! It'll take them some time to abandon their odd traditions.

No, they're probably some cult, for the love of God! They've already got Alayna and Theo twisted to their mentality, and I refuse to join in on whatever voodoo shit is going on there.

It's not like they'll sacrifice you if you go near them. You're just taking them shopping.

No, no, no. They're bad news. They'll have me hooked on shrooms after five minutes with them, or whatever other looney drugs they're taking.

This debate only continued in her mind, until her old habits kicked in and she pulled out her phone, opening her Messages app.

♥Alayna♥

I still don't know why you believe in their weird portal plan, but let your friends know I'd be happy to take them to Party City or around the mall if they need costumes.

"I never thought of that," Elle whispered. She didn't want to marry the Summer prince, she didn't even know him, but defying Faery Kings and Queens was not something you did and lived to tell about it. Takao was right though, no one would know about it back home... besides she was here to help Takao and if he thought it was alright then maybe it was. Not that she even had anyone to go with though.

Elle looked at Lorelei, "I don't know if there will be drinking but if there is, it won't be anywhere near as good as Faery wine." She had quite a high tolerance for that, cream however was a different story.

"Maybe we should have a way to test everyone's blood at the dance? Is there a quick and easy way to do that? Because it would be easy to walk by someone, poke them with a tiny needle, and get a drop of blood. We could just pretend we bumped into them or something. Or even use a pointy ring if you want to be extra cautious about it." Elle couldn't believe she was actually trying to help someone be sacrificed. This whole mess was all Lucius' fault, why did he have to send them all to such a terrible magicless place?

Takao smiled. "See? You just gotta let loose..I normally don't let loose myself. So this party will sllow me to do that before we actually have to return to formal business. By the way..If you don't want to marry that prince or whatever, I can input a word to my father, the king. That way it won't look so FISHY." The hero arose from his seat and stretched his arms. His new clothes fight nicely around him, not too tight, or loose. A combo of a nice button down and slacks. This party was on his mind..what would the have to wear..

Lucius scratches his nose as he thinks.
"I like that idea, Izaria. About blood types ... humans are very superstitious, I can use this to my advantage." He nods, then adjusts his glasses. "I'll get to work on that soon - I'll simply walk up to girls, say some speech about blood-type compatibility, then ask for theirs. The first girl I find with O-Negative is my ... sacrifice. Of course, this means we'll need to have things set up for the portal before the dance..." He shifts his weight uneasily, then gives Theo his notebook. "Oversee the construction of the portal - but guard these notes with your life."

Izaria smiled. Strategizing was something she enjoyed doing and was good at. "We could lure the nurse out, hold hostages, put some sleeping drugs in her morning coffee and wait until she falls asleep and look at them, put laxatives in her coffee so she's held up in the bathroom..." She started counting off the options on her finger. Running out of fingers to use, she said "So, to be put quite literally, the possibilities are endless." Pausing for a second to consider her options, she then said, "I think our best option would be to a) drug her or b) lure her out." Frowning and getting off the topic of stealing the files, she started muttering quietly to herself. "Sacrificing a girl is a whole other story however. We'll have to plan for the situation that it does work and a situation where it fails and we're stuck with a blood-drained corpse. We could always frame a modern cult or gang..." She slowly trailed off, but continued the banter in her head.

"Nah, these kind of dates aren't that good for your heart, brain or colon." Theo joked, winking teasingly at Greysen. Taking the papers into his hands and flipping through them, the redhead folded the notes up before tucking them into his pocket. "The Halloween dances are pretty fun from my past experiences with them," Twirling a pencil around in his fingers, Theo leaned stood up and casually leaned against the table. "People have the tendency to spike the punch but that itself can sometimes be entertaining." Theo shrugged and placed the pencil behind his ear. "But I would recommend them as a 6.4/10 tourist spot." Chuckling lightly, Theo shoved his now-free hands into his pockets and raised a brow at the idea of sacrificing a girl.

"I'm afraid the police would be here faster than the infection rate of the common cold if you did that." Any sort of event that could go to shit was heavily watched by the authorities. Theo frowned as he recalled the time that some kid decided it would be funny to make the lights go out to start a little fire in the electrical lines. It was a dangerous little prank but the flashing lights of
freedom arrived at the scene rather fast. "You'd probably be charged with drug possession and aggravated assault." Nervously laughing, Theo was pretty sure he didn't want a criminal record to show potential universities he'd be attending.

"But leave the construction of the machine to me." Giving Lucius two thumbs up, Theo could put together some sort of contraption to turn on all the appliances at once. "I'm sure I could slap some pieces together and get something." Pausing for a moment, Theo wondered just how they would be able to get the contraption into the gymnasium in the first place. Then he recalled a certain dance committee chairman--or should he say chairwoman? Esther would definitely help them sneak it in. It would probably take a little persuasion but it would work.

They could always hide it as some sort of decoration?

Izaria came back from her thought process and said, "I'm afraid that the only way we can get the portal open is with a ton of O- blood. The only other option would be breaking into a hospital's blood bank and that would take too long to make it by Halloween. Lucius could always..." She gulped and steeled herself. "... seduce the poor girl and make her think that they're going somewhere secluded and end up in the middle of nowhere. We could also spike the punch, have her drink some so she's knocked out, then take her out saying that we're taking her home but then take her to the sacrificial area." Her hands clasped together and she squeezed so hard that they were white. Of course, she was uncomfortable with the idea of sacrificing a girl. This kind of moral dilemma took more of a physical toll on her in her human body than it would in her demon body. Her stomach churned and her chest tightened at the thought. But it had to be done for her to go home. She didn't want to think about it anymore, so she picked up her book and continued reading to dissipate all of her worries.

"Takao... you would do that for me?" Elle smiled she wasn't used to anyone being concerned for her. "Though I'm not sure it would do any good. I'm pretty sure my parents promised me to him with a formal contract and Fae can't break a promise or contract or they'll die." It was a tough situation but not one that they could really do anything about in the current world. "I think you might be right about finding a date to the dance though, we're in a different world so it might be okay if I did that."

Most of the group seemed to be disheartened about the human sacrifice, "What if we took a small amount of blood from multiple people? Maybe no one would have to die?" She didn't know if that was a possibility but the idea of not killing anyone was preferable to her.

Elle was actually starting to get worried that one of the companions would end up being sacrificed if they had the right blood type, what if they couldn't find a human? She wouldn't put it past Lucius to do something like that behind their backs.

Takao Kieran: Hero of Sofya

Takao reached back into his mind to find a solution for Elle's problem. "I might have an idea for that, but as you said, let's worry about it for when we get back to Sofya" Now this sacrifice they need..it was against Takao's better judgement to even consider doing something like that. There had to be another answer for this besides killing a human..or anyone for that matter. "I say we hit a blood bank and not even bother trying to kill people, It just doesn't sit right with me..nor will it with anyone there at the party..or even the guard here..I believe they are called the police..a dumb name to be honest."

Elle brought up a good point..a date to this..party. Sure everyone would be there and they would all be together..but a date sounds like a fun idea. Takao never even had love cross his mind. A fling happened with a princess of Sofya, but it wound up being nothing when he died. Takao did fancy a few women, some of his companions being one..Elle especially. Mostly one of the reasons why he was willing to help her with this 'prince'.
