Max laughed some and smirked at him "Well we were supposed to have a date the last day of school but someone never showed up, so I figure I'm owed one." she said jokingly to him. She held to ill will to him anymore about standing her up all those years ago. The past was the past and she realized that. She gave a nod and raised her eyebrow "Pascal?" she asked smiling as he nodded "Their daughter Lily is Lizzie's best friend, can't keep them separated." she said softly

Pedro stopped for a moment and took in a deep breath shaking his head some "No...no its just a bad cold...thats all babe..its gotta be." he whispered not even wanting to think about his 3 year old son having cancer.

He frowned some and shook his head, "Did Jake not ever tell you what the hell happened? Really?" He muttered shaking his head some, "It's a story for another time but it's not... Alright... I'm gonna organise a date then, for when I get back from the tour." He murmured and raised an eyebrow at her, "You're kidding." He chuckled and just shook his head watching the road until he pulled into the drive, "Alright... Well I still want you to go meet them with me." He murmured and kissed her cheek as he got out.

Carmen shook her head wiping her eyes, "It wasn't... He told me as if we'd already got a diagnosis." She mumbled frowning, "But he said it would probably be treatable... I just... I don't think it's fair that he has to go through all of that." She whimpered a little.

Max frowned shaking her head some "I only just recently got back a few years ago Richard, and I only speak to Jake when Lizzie is around, so don't get mad at him okay?" she said kissing his hand gently smiling more "I would love that." she said softly and getting out once they pulled into the drive. She went up to the door with him and bit her lip hard getting a little nervous

Pedro shook his head some "No...no its not fair at all...why?! Why does it have to be our child?! After everything we've been through with Lily...I...I can't take seeing another in the hospital." he whispered finally looking at her and letting a few tears fall

Carmen frowned and shook her head, biting her tongue to stop from yelling at him. He'd not been there. Not through much of his own fault but enough of it had been avoidance that she was mad. She hadn't been born deaf, she'd ended up with an ear infection bad enough it caused the hearing loss and Carmen had been with her every night and day but Pedro had popped in and out to see his daughter rather thn stay there when he had the option. "Because apparently our gene pool is shit." She muttered frustratedly and leaned into him, needing his arms around her desperately right now. Just wanting him to be there with her even if she got him like that for just one evening.

Richard smiled when Nina opened the door and he nodded at her, "Hey, sorry we're late, hit trafffic on the wa- Hey!" He grinned as he saw Lily running towards him and he picked her up, spinning her around before taking her inside and taking Max with them as well, cudling Lizzie close to him protectively and smiled at her, "Lizzie you know Miss Wends.... Well she's my guest this evening cause we used to be best friends many many years ago." He murmured to her smiling some as she giggled and got down to go run off and play, "You want me with you or you okay if I go talk to my brother a minute?"

Pedro wrapped his arms around her and kept her close taking a deep breath "I'm sorry about last night..I don't have an excuse for my actions I just..I'm sorry." he murmured before kissing the top of her head. He knew he was far from the best husband and god knows he thought Carmen deserved so much better than him. He knew his mistakes that he made when Lily had been sick, and he spent years trying to make up for them but he knew that he didn't want to see his child that sick again nor did he want to see his wife having to go through that again.

Max walked in and waved at Nina thanking her for letting her come over. She smiled widely as she watched Lizzie and Richard waving as he introduced them before she ran off to play. She gave him a nod and kissed his cheek gently "Yeah I'll be alright." she said softly before she moved to sit on the couch watching as Lizzie played with her dolls

Carmen frowned some and just held onto him tightly, burying her face into his shoulder and holding onto him as tightly as she could until the kids both wandered in ready to go up to bed and she quickly got herself dusted off and her tears wiped up then took them both up to bed and left the baby monitor in javis room before going to bed with Pedro, snuggling in as close as she could get, holding him tightly and just enjoyed being in her husbands arms again. She had no idea it would be their last calm night together and the last time he would even cuddle her.

Richard went to find his brother and beckoned for him to follow him to the study. “Hey. Couple things. First off I’m being sent back out. I leave in fourdays,got confirmation today on it. Probably a few months. They don’t want us out there more than that... so normal plan in place for that... but I’m gonna take Lizzie from tomorrow for a couple Nights. Thirdly. She’s exhausted Jake... she’s calling me a lot lately because she’s scared you and Nina are gonna start screaming at her. I understand couples argue but goddamn ... grow up. Discuss your problems.” He spat at him fuming

Jake glared at him and frowned some "What the hell do you mean you're taking her for a few nights?" He muttered shaking his head some "Look Nina and I are handling it okay? Lizzie is safe here, you don't need to worry about it." He spat not liking his tone towards him

Pedro held her close to him and kissed the top of her head repeatedly giving a heavy sigh as he thought about everything "I love you Carmen." He whispered before he started to nod off with her in his arms

“I’m taking her with me because I’m not going to see her for months and god knows when I get back I probably shouldn’t see her. That’s why. The making sure she gets a decent nights sleep is a bonus... sort your shit out. Nina too. If wanting your own kids is that much of a problem then find a solution.” He spat before heading out to go to max again having a great time with her the rest of the evening and taking her home at the end, getting to bed with her and falling asleep soon as his head hit the pillow.

carmen got up early in the morning and glanced down at Pedro, kissing his cheek and got up to go check on the kids sighing quietly to herself and rubbing her face, going back to their room
And frowned when she saw he was awake now but lighting a cigarette in bed. “Excuse you! No way get that outside. We aren’t kids anymore Pedge.” She muttered.

Pedro frowned some as he woke up taking out a cigarette with a heavy sigh. He only smoked when he was heavily stressed and right now was definitely one of those times. He frowned when Carmen came in and told him to get out "Why? Babe its just one, no more after this." He murmured to her in spanish

Max woke up in the morning and groaned softly as she saw the light peering through the curtains and turned over and cuddled into Richard some trying to get back to sleep but it was no use. She was awake now and she didnt want to wake him either. She got up carefully and made her way to the kitchen to start on breakfast

“Because I’m not letting the kids see that. Take it outside.” She snapped at him a little and went to get them both up, getting Javi in some comfy clean clothes then Lily dressed for her soccer practice then sent her down to her dad for Pedro to take her.

Richard frowned some, getting up and rubbing at his face smelling food and heading downstairs slowly to go see what she was making down there

Pedro put out his cigarette as saw the kids come down and sighed heavily. He smiled softly as he saw Lily and hugged her to him "Good Morning princess." He signed before taking her inside

Max smiled and hummed quietly to herself as she stood by the stove in only on of Richard's old shirts. She hadn't heard him come down and she squeaked as she felt him smack her butt playfully

Lily giggled and cuddled him tightly having him carry her back inside just attached to him while they grabbed some snacks and headed out to her soccer practice and carmen stayed behind with Javi knowing he needed to rest this morning. “You want Paw patrol on?” She smiled kissing his head and passed him the remote for the tv going to cuddle him once she had her tea.

Richard smiled some and kissed her cheek. “Morning.... I think you wear that better than I ever did... mmm you want juice?” He asked her as he opened the fridge

Javi looked at Carmen and nodded some turning on the show and cuddling her close "Mommy....my body hurt.." he said whimpering quietly not knowing what else to describe it as

Max smiled some and winked at him "Mmm I guess I'll keep it then." She said before turning to look at him "Yes please." She said sweetly before she got two plates of food ready for them

He smiled and shook the carton some then poured them a glass each and sat with her. “I’m gonna pick up Lizzie later this afternoon and have her with me for tonight and tomorrow, then I gotta pack and I’m gonna spend the night with you... then I’m leaving.” He mumbled frowning some and kissed her cheek.

carmen frowned feeling his forehead and going to get him some calpol to get his temperature down just sitting with him quietly. “I’m right there sweetheart okay? It’s gonna be okay pumpkin.” She murmured gently and kissed his head cuddling him to her protectively and worrying about him

Max gave a small frown but nodded some "Alright well just let me know what you're going to get Lizzie and I'll head home." She said softly giving him a small smile "And then we'll have our night, and when you come back we'll have our date." She told him assuringly

Javi frowned some and nodded some before he started into a coughing fit. He cried as he held onto her and pointed to his chest "Mommy! It hurt!" He said holding onto her tightly

She frowned and gently rubbed it in circles for him biting down hard on her lip to stop herself from crying. “I know sweetheart I know the doctors said they were gonna call us today.” She mumbled and kissed his head again getting him set up on the couch for a nap as he got sleepy then went to do a few chores, eventually getting the phone call and by the time lily and Pedro got back carmen was out on the back porch with her head in her hands sobbing and shaking.

he nodded and sighed a little. “Mmm... I’m sorry.” He mumbled frowning as he stared at his juice. “I wish I didn’t have to go.” He mumbled sighing quietly “But they’re calling extra units in.” He was rambling now and fiddling with his fingers while he sat there muttering time himself.

Pedro came in seeing Carmen out back and frowned "Lily go get changed and play in your room." He signed before he went out to Carmen sitting down next to her "Carmen? Whats wrong?"

Max placed her hand over his and squeezed it some "Richard...honey its going to be okay? You'll be home sooner than you know it." She said leaning over and kissing his cheek gently

Carmen frowned looking over at him and just reached over to him, grabbing his jacket and reaching into his pocket to take his cigarettes out, lighting one up and passing it to him, proceeding to light one for herself as well, "It's leukemia, I got the phone call a half hour ago... Pedro he's in so much pain and it's only gonna get worse with everything he's about to have to go through." She whimpered shaking, "I don't know how to explain this to him or to Lily. Hell I don't even know the sign language for any of it." She whimpered burying her face in her hands, "What took you guys so long? Her practice is only an hour." She mutteredfrowning. Lily had been told by her Dad to keep it a secret because it was going to be a surprise but she'd been dragged around to a couple appointments for them to sort out her having the procedure to help her be able to hear.

He frowned and looked over at her, his knee bouncing at a mile a minute until he felt her hand over it and he slowly began to relax, pulling himself closer to her and slipping his arms around her tiny frame, bringing her in close as he could possibly get her, "You promise you're not gonna run off and change your mind right? I mean... If you don't want this then please... Tell me now or wait til I get back but please, please don't do it behind my back." He begged her quietly.

Max frowned at him and cupped his face looking directly into his eyes "Richard, I cared for you more than anyone in our school years, but I think it wasn't our time then. I feel like the universe or whatever you want to believe in brought us back together, so I'll be damned if I loose this shot again." She told her seriously before she kissed him lovingly

Pedro frowned as he listened to her and gave a heavy sigh shaking his head "Shit....we....we're gonna figure this out babe." He murmured pulling her to him as he put out the cigarette she had given him. He wasn't showing how much this upset him but he was just hoping this was a false negative or something

Carmen frowned and got up hearing him calling for her and went inside, going to check on him and helped him when he got sick again just frowning over at Pedro.

He nodded and pulled her in closer, kissing her back and holding her as close as he possibly could.

Max held him close to her kissing the top of his head repeatedly "Its gonna be okay." She whispered

Javi held her tight crying softly "Mommy make the sicky go away!" He said clutching her shirt tightly

He frowned and watched her sighing heavily. “You know I’ve always loved you right?” He asked quietly running his fingers through her hair and kissed her softly pulling her to his lap.

carmen frowned and kissed his head holding him to her. “Oh baby I wish I could.” She whispered. “We’re gonna go get you some help tomorrow okay? They’re gonna get you feeling better.” She murmured to him softly.

Max smiled softly and gave a small nod "I think I've known for a bit..I hope you know I love you too." She whispered to him before she kissed him back and pressed her body close to his

Javi whimpered some and nodded a bit "I want daddy." He said needing cuddles from both of his parents right now.

She frowned and rocked him gently, "Hold on... Pedge! Pedro can you come up here?!" She called to him, frowning when there was no answer and she kissed Javi's head before going to get him. She headed around the whole house searching for him and calling his name until she found him in Lily's room, "Pedro! Javi wants cuddles from his Dad, he's really not feeling good." She told him sighing heavily.

He frowned and pulled her in close as he could, gripping at her hips, "I have time if you do." He murmured, deepening their kiss and starting to lift her up to carry her back up to the bedroom, his arms holding her wrapped around him not even needing to look where he was going

Pedro frowned as he turned his attention from his daughter "Alright I'll be there in a bit." He murmured finishing up with Lily before he made his way into Javi's room holding him close "Hey buddy, don't worry you'll be okay." He murmured to him glancing at Carmen as she came in

Max nodded kissing him deeper as held onto him. She panted softly sitting up on the floor of his room both of them not making it to the actual bed. She smiled softly at him and traced patterns on his hair covered chest "I'm going to miss you." She whispered
